This place was a great find. All our food was delicious. I ordered the flatbread red pepper pizza and asked them to switch the artichoke hummus sauce with a red sauce. The pizza came with a generous amount of cheese. it was wonderful. My husband had the pastrami sandwich with potato salad. The sandwich was tasty and served on what I think was either a pretzel bun or a brioche roll. I tasted the potato salad and it was some of the best potato salad I've had. Well if you make it to Craters of the Moon National Monument may as well spin on up to Mackay ID for some BBQ. We did, would again. Four of us had BBQ brisket, mango pork and red brisket with sides of course. The onion rings are special. Don't miss them. Also, the huckleberry cider might call for a second round. The owners and servers were especially friendly. You have the option of eating outside under the covered area or in the bar restaurant. We sat in the large outside dining area, so our golden could come with. We each ordered the brisket sandwiches with the two different sauces. Our sides were macaroni salad and egg rolls, which we shared. The brisket is killer and the sandwiches were loaded. The egg rolls were great and the salad was good. I can't believe we have missed seeing this gem every year on our way to a woman's retreat in Challis. It caught our eye on our way back through Mackay and we will NEVER stop any where else! I split the brisket sandwich with my sister and we chose egg rolls as our side. There were 6 delicious choices to chose from! My daughter and other sister ordered chicken fingers. HOLY COW never have I ever.... It was legitimate juicy pieces of breaded crispy chicken!!! Not only was the food amazing!!!! Fast!!!! Fries to die for, it was affordable... but the biggest win for us was Casey the owner serving us! DO NOT miss this place! We also learned he serves up 58 0z tomahawk steak and lobster meal on Friday nights! We will be making a special trip back for that masterpiece!!! It's back to great food! The prior owner has returned and the sandwich are wonderful.

On a recent trip to MacKay for a hiking weekend, we ate at the L7 for dinner twice. The first night I had the beef brisket with twice-baked potatoes and my brother had the pastrami with waffle fries. Both were EXCELLENT, and the twice-baked potatoes were delicious. The second night we did a pickup order (since we were wiped from hiking Mount Breitenbach). I had the shrimp dinner with onion rings while my brother had the prime rib sandwich and waffle fries. Again, both were absolutely delicious. Everyone we met at the L7 was extremely friendly, especially Casey the owner, and Alan the bartender. Super nice guys that made us feel welcome. We didn't have any alcoholic drinks since we were doing a big hike, but they had a full selection of beer, wine, and hard alcohol. Overall a fantastic experience, and we'll most certainly be coming back to the L7 every time we're in the Lost River Valley. read more

Delicious tender bbq brisket. Im from California & Ive been to so many bbq spots like Phils bbq in san diego. I gotta say this was the softest most tender brisket I've ever had. Extremely delicious sandwiches. I recommend the bbq brisket with wedges. I'll be dreaming about this sandwich for years to come. We were driving through town on a road trip and were looking for a quick dinner before we headed into the mountains. We loved this barbecue joint full of happy locals. We had the brisket, tri tip and mango pork sandwiches. Each came with a side. The pork was very tender, but I couldn't really taste the mango at all. The brisket and tri tip were excellent. Service was great and the owner even came out to say hi. I would definitely go back if passing through Mackay again. read more

My dad and I came into town from the top of the Pahsimeroi over Double Springs Pass and decided to stop here for a bite to eat. Nice clean place, cold beer and a good lookin menu. The owner Casey and his girlfriend gave us a friendly greeting and went over the menu with us. I've spent a lot of time (years) in TX and I'd like to think that I know a thing or two about good BBQ. Well I'll tell you right now the red BBQ brisket is one the best sandwiches that both my father and I have had period. The prices were very reasonable for what you get and I've got half a mind to head back over the pass just for another one of those sandwiches. To top it all off, they have an entire selection of ammo that is hard to find in big towns and the prices on them is the same as the big box stores. If they don't have it, they'll find it for you if you give them a couple of weeks. I hope that this place stays open for a long time and I know I won't be passing through Mackay without stopping by for a sandwich and maybe a few to go. read more
