Fig & sage old fashioned & apple orchard

DELICIOUS DRINKS & FOOD! We were not staying here, but it was recommended we come to the Duchin Lounge for great drinks. We ordered the fig & sage old fashioned and the apple orchard hot toddy type drink and both of them were delicious! We also split the flat iron steak sandwich and added fries and they even split the plates/portions for us! The sandwich and fries were soooo delicious! We loved everything about this little impromptu afternoon cocktail and bite - it did set us back $75 with tip but it's worth it!!! Service was a bit slow but the lounge was pretty busy. I will come back every time we are in town.

Such a fun atmosphere! They had live music on Friday night which really made the place come to life (40/50s vibe!). It was very busy when we arrived and we didn't have a reservation but we put our name down and got a drink from the bar while trying to plan a next spot for dinner... and right as we were about to leave, we got a table! Ordered 4 different appetizers which were deeeeeelicious - however, if you're not a fan of orange zest, don't order the baked Brie because they put orange on it ... wasn't my favorite. I would also recommend trying the Thai wraps next time because another table ordered those and they smelled SO good. Synopsis: Come here for a post skiing drink and appetizer evening at a classic Sun Valley lodge (: ***and then after you've gotten in the classic music mood, end your evening by watching Sun Valley Serenade featuring Glen Miller Orchestra!!!

Poke salad is the best!! Micro greens, watermelon, tuna, cucumber, radish plus.

Excellent! Enough said. Loved eating in the lounge. The poke was fabulous. Hope I can make as good at home. The staff was wonderful. They work hard as they can't get employees. It's good to sit back and relax with wonderful piano being played. Chairs are comfortable. Everyone is happy around you. All smiles. Look forward to going back next year. Staying at the lodge is also wonderful.

Staying at the lodge and all is good . Nice piano music and sometimes trio. Martinis rock! Staff get busy and cater to the largest groups so singles and two, good luck. Okay so we ordered their soft rolls with butter and jam. It never came. They got busy with bigger tables and forgot about us. When confronted they said they ran out of the soft rolls and offered their sliced sour dough bread no thank you overall, everything and everyone is having a good time. It's our last night night here at the lodge and I won't let no one ruin it for me and my niece!

    Classic cocktails at their best!

Classic cocktail lounge at its best. May I suggest the Mr. Wright with a secret ingredient and the Negroni?! The test of a true classic cocktail bar is the ice. The Negroni was served with a large cube of ice, stirred. We started with the Plymouth Gin martini with a hint of vermouth. Cheese plate is a great accompaniment.

Disappointing as a singles venue. Seating only outside of lounge. Tender flat out lied on inquiries ahead of visit.

We stayed during ski season and here are the things I was most happy with (in no particular order): * The said it was a continental breakfast so I wasn't expecting all they offered like fresh local bagels and pastries, fresh berries, cut up pineapple, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, a very high quality granola, oatmeal with all the fixings, a pancake machine, juices, coffees with syrups and milks, lots of high quality tea choices, scrabbled eggs allow and with some mix-ins sometimes cheese or veggie, hard boiled eggs, meat like bacon sausage patties or links, sometime or potato like hash brown patties or shedded hash browns, roasted veggies, and on the weekend days they offered salmon with capers and onions. Plus flavored yogurts in individual containers and whole fruit like apples, oranges, and bananas. * humidifiers in the room. The hotel is so dry. We live at elevation in Park City, UT but Ketchum is drier! We ran the humidifier on high constantly but it was so great they offered this in the room. * they have a parking garage. It is $30/day AND there are easy access free spots around the hotel, but I imagine during peak season the offered parking is best. And it's covered so your car will be snow-free! * the heated pool for year round enjoyment (and two hot tubs). The air was too cold for my liking (because you have to get out eventually). * pretty decent gym with peloton bikes. * oh and the restaurant happy hour seems to be a hit with hotel guests and locals. The one huge downside was because it's so dry and they don't have a humidifier installed for the hotel, we got static shocked every time we touched the elevator buttons or unlocking our room. And it hurt! And when you're in town, I recommend the city museum, the wolf museum, the library, and the cemetery. And if the pedestrian paths are snow-free then head down Sun Valley Road.

Bad food, out of main staple items, or summoned to the dreaded basement... Unfortunately, after 46 years of dining at Pioneer, I think we are done! We are visiting town to support an event for the culinary world and wanted to try some local establishments. I took my wife and the food was wonderful. We had the yellow tail and two pasta dishes. The yellowtail was perfect but I did feel as if the past was a little "too on the "al dente" side. The being said, I did thoroughly enjoy the food. However; from the moment we walked in the door, we were treated as a nuisance and felt unimportant/unwanted. The hostess was atrocious and made it very clear we were being judged while rolling her eyes to common questions like "do we need a reservation or can we be placed on the list or seated." After she did common tasks during our conversation (and briefly stepping away), we were able to get her to seat us (after asking again). This started us off with hesitation which was only further exacerbated by the staff taking our order and not refilling our alcoholic drinks. We love to enjoy experiences and are not afraid to spend our hard earned money - sadly, this made our time here short lived. We were not informed if there was a dress code that established our treatment/experience here. If so, the messaging would be received poorly due to the fact that we were wearing similar -to- identical attireTo the wait staff. Again, I severely dislike doing reviews like this as someone that's a chef and owner in the industry.

We were excited to try The Covey and left feeling a little disappointed…read more First, The quality of the yellowtail appetizer was excellent. It was fresh, beautifully prepared, and clearly handled with care. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience didn't quite live up to the quality of the ingredients. Both pasta dishes had an unusually chewy, almost sticky texture that wasn't for us, and our empty glasses sat for about 20 minutes without anyone checking in. We would have happily ordered another round. What stuck with us most, though, was the feeling that we were being judged for walking in wearing our work clothes. As fellow restaurant people, we understand showing up after a long shift, so it felt a little out of place, especially in a room where the dress code for guests seemed far more formal than it was for the staff. Hospitality is about making every guest feel welcome, regardless of what they're wearing. There's obvious talent in the kitchen, particularly with the seafood, and we genuinely hope this was just an off night. We'd be happy to give The Covey another chance.
