However, I didn't cry in front of her and I still have my man-card to prove it. Also I'm old school and prefer to weep alone, naked in the fetal position or hold my emotions in and develop a facial tick like a real man would. Thankfully Tanna didn't notice my nose hair and gave me a great cut with what's left of my hair. Thank you Ms. Tanna.

I'd sit there listening to my father and him talk as much shit as possible in the time allotted.       Back then I never understood it.       As I got older I switched from a barber to various salons. The cost of my cuts went from very basic to hours long with a multitude of crazy colors applied. Nuts. I'm happy my mother always taught me to take care of my hair. I miss the man bun days in Boulder sometimes, but I don't miss the 4-hour long stylist adventures. I'm grateful I still have it too, and I take care of it, like the rest of my body.       It's taken me forever to find a spot that has that same feel I had growing up. When I found Nobleman Quarters ( @noblemanquarterslv ) I was blown away. Finally I found a place I could talk shit, expressing everything I've endured, while getting a great cut, even a killer massage, and be reminded of those times with my dad.       Thank you Tanna ( @misstanna44 ) for helping me identify as 35 countless times, and most importantly realizing that keeping a door open to the past in any way is not only toxic as fuck, but it's blocking the door God's trying to close to open what he truly has in store for me. Grateful.       P.S. I also helped her build a chicken coop. Yes, the chickens are still alive, and I can't wait for the eggs!

So I've just never felt comfortable going to barbers, I taught myself how to cut my own hair at a…read moreyoung age, and never needed to find a barber in Vegas in the meantime. Until now. I really wanted to do something different and knew I needed to find a barber. First thing I'm looking for is a barber shop that's safe and queer friendly. My first search was honestly just Las Vegas Barber on TikTok and The Utopic Studio was the third video down. Immediately I was drawn to the way they presented their business, and their transparency about cutting hair, even tips and tricks! I immediately tried to book a last minute appointment on Sunday. I originally got booked with Marissa, and unfortunately her schedule just got booked. Thankfully to her and her team they made it work! I ended up with Taz the Barber, and may I say I left feeling brand new! I knew I wanted to try a drop fade but wanted to do something different with the top of my hair. Taz immediately knew what we could do and we went in. It's a studio with about 3 chairs, GREAT music choice, and the MOST WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT! Each barber KNOWS what they're doing. Again this is a barber STUDIO so they offer so many services! They have an elegance and vibe that is something of this era. If you are LGBTQ+ or not this is a safe space. Pricing is fair and varied between requests and barbers. Just wanted to say thank you to Taz and Marissa and your team for squeezing me in. Best haircut experience I've EVER had. See you in a few weeks! Check out their socials! The proof is in the pudding!

All of the barbers here do a fantastic job, so there's honestly nowhere you could go wrong. Izzy is always super attentive to anything I'm requesting and does a great job at communicating and finding out what to do for what I have in mind. The vibe of the place is laid back, chill, and has good music. Great conversations are always had. It's just like meeting up with good friends, except you walk out with a fresh cut. 100/5 for everything.
