Yogurt and granola, with poopy pancakes and huge fork.

The hotel is beautiful and the shower is super nice, beds are clean and comfortable. They asked for my whole family's name and age. Which was extremely weird, they said it was for breakfast but no one took our names at breakfast. That made me nervous...especially with all the trafficking. Now moving onto the breakfast....disgusting. We got there at about 7:30 so I understand how some stuff could be a little dry since it starts at 6:30. But I got some blueberry pancakes, they were filled with something like blueberry? It tasted like poop. Not as in it was bad, which it was but it Literally tasted like someone pooped in the pancakes. And their granola is cinnamon which I have no problem with expect for that the yogurt options are raspberry and blue berry. The utensils are also huge. If you come here make sure you get breakfast somewhere else.

We stayed at the Landing Hotel for my brother's wedding. We had a couple of suites during the day for the groomsmen and bridesmaids to get ready. The rooms are pretty standard, but everything was clean and pretty well maintained. The hotel itself has nice access to the casino (obviously), the north shore, PNC Park, and acrisure stadium.

The room was amazing. Comfy bed, modern decor, beautiful bathroom. The wheelhouse restaurant is average at best, but the happy hour ain't bad. We were a bit disappointed that there was nothing open late at the casino to get food.

Great place to stay. Especially for a Steelers game. Good food at the Wheel House restaurant.

The hours are 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, although table games are typically open only during the daytime. Customers may play with their PENN PLAY card or with cash. The casino also has restaurants, bars, horse-racing, and other events. For about 11 years, my husband and I have been occasional customers of this casino. We like how the floor is split into smoking and non-smoking sections. We gamble relatively small amounts of money, and in both of our visits in the past year, we came out slightly ahead in our gambling on the slot machines. Our cashier paid us promptly and courteously. In October 2025, this casino had The Tipsy Cauldron Pop-up Pub, which had Halloween and Harry Potter themes. The bar was not busy when my husband and I arrived, but we waited several minutes for an employee to take our order. We skipped ordering foods, but we really liked our two drinks, the Spellbound Cider (rum, apple cider, cranberry, cinnamon, etc.) and the Rotten Pumpkin (vodka, coconut rum, mango, triple sec, and orange). I wish, though, that the cups were as fun as the ones shown online--a witch's hand and a cauldron.

Service was overall good at each venue. The lobby restaurant didnt open until 5pm. However the pub was able to accommodate our needs. The adjacent bakery and coffee shop was a nice venue to have. Rooms were of ample size for a historic city property

I had a wonderful stay here and would happily stay here again!…read moreStepping into this historic 110 year old hotel feels like a time capsule of opulence. I was immediately blown away with the foyer! At check in, there is fruit infused water to quench your thirst. Make sure you keep your room key in hand because you will need it to operate the elevator (once in, hold it against the black box until light turns green and quickly select your floor). The hallways were incredible! And still had their old charm! I even picked up the old fashioned telephone and it rings the front desk! You can use it shall you need something ... if for some reason you cannot enter your room, just pick up the black phone in the hallway and they will come to you (this didn't happen to me, but just a tip if it does). I stayed in room 1470 and absolutely love my view of the gothic architecture of the Union Trust. I looked out my window a million times! The size of my room was huge! I could have done cartwheels all over the place! The WiFi is complimentary for guests. There's cable TV. Maybe other options too but I didn't have my tv on much to know. The water pressure deserves its own special shout out! Holy moly it was heaven! And the brand of washes they had was nice! Usually the conditioner isn't good enough in hotels for my hair but this was just fine! And there's a good blow dryer on the back of the door (I still used my own because I have a lot of hair and it's long BUT had I forgotten it, their hair dryer would have been just fine at 1875 watts. There's a tag on your door that you can hang if you'd like to skip housekeeping for a day and the hotel will donate a meal for doing so .. check out the tag for more info! There's also cards you can put on your bed if you want your bedding changed. I was never bothered in my room by housekeeping. I was never bothered by noise. I never experienced a phony phantom call to my room. (All things I've experienced at other places). You will get a free drink at checkout you can get a beer at the tap room or a coffee at Mellon Square (on site). It is not good for the speakeasy ... and yes, it's a real speakeasy that existed in the 1920s you could access thru tunnels under the city! So cool! On checkout day, the event I attended was going to start early and finish after checkout time. Since I was up late the night before, the front desk said I was welcome to bring my bags down now for bellhop to hold, but they also put me for a late checkout at 1pm so I could come down late the next day too. So partway thru the event just before 1pm I brought down my bags and they held them for the next 90 mins I was there. I parked across the street at the Mellon square parking garage ... Apple GPS marks the garage in the wrong place FYI ... it marks it about a block away but it is directly across the street from the hotel, with the entrance to it being on the cross street. I paid $44 to park there from Thursday around 5pm to Sunday around 3pm. Not bad. They do have valet parking at the hotel too but that is $55 per day I believe. Leaving was sad. I would have liked more time to enjoy this place. I would love to come back sometime! I have nothing bad to say about this place. Wonderful staff and incredible hotel! Thank you for this amazing stay!

The front desk was woefully understaffed, especially as most of the hotel was booked out for a volleyball tournament which they knew about. The pull out couch in our room had no bedding. I called guest services, no answer. Went downstairs, and requested bedding from the front desk at 10:45 pm. Went downstairs again at 11:45 pm, as I still had no bedding. It arrived at 12:30 am. We had a very early start at a volleyball tournament. Not ideal. The tub took forever to drain after a shower (not a bath). Very few people like showering ankle-deep in water. On Sunday evening, there was ONE bartender on duty for both food and drinks orders. He was doing his best, but was completely overwhelmed. We had an entire team of very hungry players. It took an hour just to put our food order in. Part of the order was wrong, and part of it was never placed with the kitchen. 2 hours later, some of us still hadn't eaten. Overall, it was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had.

I absolutely loved that there were two black labs on the grounds as well. They were both super friendly dogs! The room that we had was beautiful! It was also very clean which is always a plus. We had a very nice bay window that looked out onto the North Side. There was also a working fireplace that was nice to have during the night. We were served breakfast in the dining room area that was very good. Ed made sure to make us comfortable and shared a few interesting stories with us before the other guests arrived for breakfast. Once the other guests arrived we all sat together and had a lovely conversation. It's nice to hear others experiences and suggestions on where to go and what to see. This place made me never want to go back to the more traditional chain hotels! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and will be back for sure.
