The Landings Hotel Recently checked into the Landings Hotel (& Casino) near Pitt's stadium prior to our granddaughter's graduation ceremony. We booked a three night stay in an upgraded room - arrived on Friday and left Monday morning. The room had a great view of the Monongahela River, in Pittsburgh, PA, but no microwave and a tiny refrigerator that kind of worked. Their free breakfast offered excellent coffee, juices, fruits, bacon, potatoes, cereal, and a variety of toast & bagels - but the folded egg-flips with cheese were cold - so I tried to warm mine up by covering it with a hot toasted bagel - it didn't help. With no breakfast menu, we were stuck with what was offered. Many other chains we've visited have microwaves, more extensive and hotter breakfast items at lower prices. The casino is equipped with a ton of slots and a variety of the usual dealer-style card, roulette & crap tables, but I didn't notice many winning bells going off while I was playing. Day 2: Breakfast Egg&Cheese Flip/over were replaced with Scrambled Eggs slightly warmer, but the toast and bagels were missing - something about those only being available for a wedding? Seems pretty petty as there are one of the cheapest items. That night we ate at their Steak House, plenty of great wine & beverages. Each of us was served 1 slice of bread w/ ample butter. The steamed were great. Asked for 1/2 the usual amount of Linguine, but received the full amount. Pasta dishes seemed starchy - not rinsed. My Clams (listed as, Steve's Favorite) were excellent and abundant. Monday Morning. Egg&Cheese flip-overs (still cold - even after placing the plate atop the toaster-oven while waiting for my English Muffins to be toasted- Thank the gods the toast, bagels, and muffins were back. Over all, the stay was enjoyable, best meals (Chinese & Subway) were ordered with DoorDash at lower prices and tastier offerings than the casino sandwich shop offered. If you are traveling to Pittsburgh to watch a sporting event, graduation, of football draft the Landing Hotel is convenient, but now you have an idea of what to expect. I stayed in The Landing hotel for two nights while visiting Pittsburgh for a friend's wedding. I was on the fourth floor as part of a room block. I'm pretty sensitive to noise, and The Landing was not quiet. I don't know if riverside would've been better, but there were folks outside making a lot of noise, and then my neighbors were loud as heck too at one point and I could hear them perfectly when I just wanted to snooze. The price was pretty steep - $528 for two nights. I was given voucher coupons for breakfast each morning, and the spread was really tasty. Definitely a highlight. The bed and bathroom were both nice as well. Just overall a bit too noisy for my preference. read more

Arrived on Tuesday 4-21-26 for the NFL Draft at about 2:30 pm for a three night stay. There was only one valet attendant on site and no baggage assistance. We were able to check in early thanks to Ed at the front desk, which made up for our poor valet/baggage experience. Upon arriving in our suite, there was no toilet paper, a hair scrunchee on the carpet and hairs on the wall in the bathroom. Housekeeping failed to quality control to ensure the room was throughly clean and no items were left behind from the previous guests. Additionally, the air conditioner seemed too loud when it would kick in. Not sure if the water pressure is regulated but the shower pressure could have been better. The bed and pillows were great and the layout of our suite was perfect. Front desk staff ( Ed & Mary) were attentive and provided great customer service. For the breakfast buffet, I'd like to see some healthier options like diced fruit ,better eggs without cheese and more cooked. Despite the price hike due to the NFL Draft the convenience to and from the venue was great. I would definitely stay here again for concerts and NFL games. read more

The hotel is beautiful and the shower is super nice, beds are clean and comfortable. They asked for my whole family's name and age. Which was extremely weird, they said it was for breakfast but no one took our names at breakfast. That made me nervous...especially with all the trafficking. Now moving onto the breakfast....disgusting. We got there at about 7:30 so I understand how some stuff could be a little dry since it starts at 6:30. But I got some blueberry pancakes, they were filled with something like blueberry? It tasted like poop. Not as in it was bad, which it was but it Literally tasted like someone pooped in the pancakes. And their granola is cinnamon which I have no problem with expect for that the yogurt options are raspberry and blue berry. The utensils are also huge. Room is very comfortable and nicely appointed. It would be nice to have a coffee maker in the room. I'm not sure I would pay the listed price for this room, but it was well worth the Comped stay. Staff were all very friendly. The breakfast was HORRIBLE this Friday morning. Not at all like I read online. No wonder people from the north hate grits. They were a bucket of hard goop. The premade cheese whiz filled omelet was not cold but far from hot. The potato things were hard, cold pucks with onion powder as a seasoning. The turkey sausage was close to being good but again was cool and hard. Not sure how to prepare frozen turkey sausage but they don't either. We stayed at the Landing Hotel for my brother's wedding. We had a couple of suites during the day for the groomsmen and bridesmaids to get ready. The rooms are pretty standard, but everything was clean and pretty well maintained. The hotel itself has nice access to the casino (obviously), the north shore, PNC Park, and acrisure stadium. read more

This was not a good experience. The hotel room itself was bare basics. Which was ok. It boasted a beautiful river view. However, our view was of a parking lot. When you arrive, you have to choose if you want to tip a valet person to park your car so that you can get your luggage inside or you can park yourself, but they warn you that you're going to have to tow your luggage across the parking garage and down elevators until you can find your room. We went down for breakfast this morning and decided to eat outside because it was nice out. We got our drinks and went out on the porch and then could not get back inside. There was no sign that told us that we had to have our key to get back in. We had just turned it in at the desk. The employees watched us out there and wouldn't let us back in although we were clearly guests. We had to walk around the building to get back inside and when we came in the kitchen manager, explained that it was in case people were trying to rob them. Which we were clearly not. There is construction outside of the hotel. Getting in and out of the area is a pain. Smells like cigarettes when you're trying to get into the hotel because it's attached to the casino. All in all it was not a good experience and I would definitely not recommend it or stay there again. read more

The room was amazing. Comfy bed, modern decor, beautiful bathroom. The wheelhouse restaurant is average at best, but the happy hour ain't bad. We were a bit disappointed that there was nothing open late at the casino to get food. read more

We stayed on the 7th floor for two nights. The room was spacious and comfortable. There was a hair tie on the floor and a big chocolate crumb that weren't ours BUT otherwise it was clean. The free breakfast was great! Everyone was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The free valet is such a great feature! The gym isn't huge but it has everything you need. Unfortunately the first floor where the gym is does have a cigarette smell but being next to the casino, not exactly unexpected. Great stay, thank you! read more

I spent one night here midweek in early June 2024. Hotel has many positives including the following: Free valet parking Entrance to the hotel is separate from the casino Free breakfast (eggs, potatoes, French toast, turkey sausage) Clean room If you want to gamble, you don't have to go outside either Exercise room is fairly equipped with different equipment options Room overall would be on par with a Hampton Inn. It was clean and comfortable but nothing over the top. There weren't a ton of amenities either. If the price was right I would stay here but there are plenty of downtown options available that are equal or better. read more

Great location, free valet parking and friendly staff. I attended a conference here and stayed for three nights. When I checked in, the room was clean and comfortable. Room has a mini fridge, but no coffee machine or microwave, although I travel on business a lot and find that many hotels don't have microwaves anymore. Breakfast buffet was not too bad and staff in the breakfast area kept it very clean and the food on the buffet was refilled quickly. There is a separate entrance for hotel guests so you don't have to walk through the casino. I'd stay here again. read more

Stayed here after a work event and it is a nice new Hotel. The staff were friendly. Although the bed was very uncomfortable. The following morning, we had the complimentary breakfast which was not good at all. There are definitely improvements to make this a better stay at the hotel. read more

Went for a holiday party with work. It was a decent hotel and very visually pleasing but I was unimpressed with the quality of the beds and pillows and blankets. One thing I look forward to is a comfy hotel bed! There was also no mini fun travel Size things to take with you like shampoo and stuff. My back hurt when I woke up plus the walk to the casino is not too far but it's certainly not close. When I got back to the casino once I was told I was being turned away for public intoxication and I had to explain to the security guard my feet hurt from all the walking and new shoes LOL they then let me in. I would stay here again but I would probably rather save $$ and just take an Uber home. read more

Super new. Hope they get their act together. Pros: Great location. Beautiful views. Access to casino and restaurants. Clean (because it's new!). Comfortable rooms. Cons: 1. AC in the room will not go below 68. I'm a menopausal woman, that doesn't work. Called front desk, they called maintenance, never showed. Then I was told a supervisor was coming up. He never showed. Got another call, from said supervisor and was told he wasn't coming and the AC will not go below 68. 2. Additionally, the WiFi is really crappy. I have not been able to share or receive photos or files since I got here. I'm here for a business meeting. I would not recommend using this facility for business. Good WiFi is a must. 3. There is a valet button on the phone in the room. I called to get my car and was told I have to come to the valet to request my car. The valet button, with the picture of a car, is only if I need help with my bags. Get it together. Can't add photos, I'm in the hotel right now and they won't load. They Are Racist. With the exception of the girl with the colored hair at the counter in valet. We're from California and from the first night we stepped in here. We was treated like trash. Especially the white guy that works at night with the scraggly long ponytail. We're both ill with a condition that has no cure. Lupus. We're suppose to stay stress free BUT not here. This has been one of the worst Hotel stays ever. The supervisor Connie Straub is Less than accommodating and professional. If you're Black I suggest you Look somewhere else. I am a non-smoker but did frequent the casino during my trip last weekend for the Steelers game. The casino smeels so bad of cigarettes that the hotel decided to charge me $350 because they have a machine that says I smoked in the room. One- I dont smoke. Two- I didnt smoke in the room. They say the machine picks up the smoke in the room and alerts them. How is it picking up smoke if I didnt smoke in the room?? They need to figure this out...as many people are complaining about this. They are giving me the run around right now and say a Manager is busy but will reach out. I was waiting for this...sitting in the lobby the morning we were leaving, there were multiple people complaining about the charges. Hotel would do nothing. How can they screw people over like this but have a stinky casino attached to the hotel? SCAM. I will delete the review when I get my money back. I did nothing wrong.... read more

I stayed at this hotel for the past two nights as part of a wedding block. The rooms were spacious and clean. I especially like the automatic light in the bathroom because it made it easy to see when it was dark. The desk staff was courteous and helpful as well. I saw that they are planning on adding a virtual marketplace which I assume is like a convince store and I think that would be a great idea because as of now there was no option to buy toiletries or snacks in the lobby. read more

My hotel experience was more positive compared to some of the other reviews written. I arrived Sunday morning for a three night stay and by 1:00 p.m. I received the telephone call that my room was available for check-in. This was excellent since it was not scheduled to be available until 4:00 p.m. The front desk staff was courteous. Maya was both enthusiastic and knowledgeable about things to do in the area. The room refrigerator worked perfectly, as did the cooling unit. The rooms were spacious and clean, and water pressure was decent in the shower. There was an in room safe, but it did need a reset by staff to function. Compared to other casino hotels that I have been in throughout the country, this one was a tad overpriced for what it offered. However, nobody offers the view that this hotel offers. It was peaceful and wonderful to see the boat traffic on the river. If you are coming for a football or baseball game, this is a very convenient hotel to those locations. Otherwise, it is a short car ride to most attractions in the area. Someone made a comment that the Hampton Inn breakfast were better. I stay at Hampton Inns frequently and I would say that the breakfast were very comparable bottom line This is not a luxury hotel but it offers a very comfortable stay for people who want to go to a sporting event or who want to be adjacent to a fully operational Casino. read more

As expressed in previous comments this hotel is visually appealing. However there were are several short falls that needed improvements during my stay: - No microwaves in room or in lobby. - No coffee machine in room - Only one round of toilet paper. You are able to call for house keeping but there should already be at least one spare in the bathroom. - NO maid service. I am very capable of cleaning and tidying up after myself and always tip the maid service, but there is none. The price you pay does not match the amenities available during the stay. - Room service starts at 4pm. Suggestion: Earlier room service. Room service menu can also be improved to cover some more basics like chicken fingers, Caesar salad and a few more soup options besides only Italian wedding soup. - There was a heavy smoke smell in my room. I do not mind being around smoking (I personally do not smoke) but this was an intense odor in my room that made my room smell like the center of the casino. The experience felt like a soft opening which would be fine if it was not so expensive. Another option: My brother stayed at the Hyatt Place which is less expensive and a better experience. However, If you are coming to gamble solely this is likely a great option for you as room amenities may not be priority of your stay. read more

This place does not live up to the promise of a "luxury" casino hotel. Rooms are clean and well-appointed, but services are severely lacking. Breakfast was below the quality of most Hampton Inn buffets and there isn't an on-site restaurant. The bar is average. Most of the bars and restaurants in the adjacent Rivers Casino are either closed or operating on extremely limited hours. There is no gift shop, pantry, or even a vending machine so I hope you don't get any late-evening munchies. Worst of all, a hotel employee entered my room without knocking to "check on" the cleanliness of the room at 9PM. Creepy. Overpriced for the experience. read more

We had a comped room from our previous stay. We were asleep when we heard a knock at the door. Front desk person accompanied by security accusing us of smoking in the room. We did not smoke in our room. Requested he enter our room and smell it as there was no smoke smell. He refused. Kept saying a sensor went off? Questioned what sensor and he said at the front desk. Again, stated we did not smoke in the room. He stated he already charged our credit card. I asked for what...smoking. we did not smoke. The charge is 350.00. So be careful when they comp you a room, they will get their money one way or another. They made us feel like trash. I have never been treated or talked to like that by a "supposed professional" especially at a hotel. I have read other reviews about this happening. They are going to end up with a lawsuit on their hands. Will never stay there again. No night or morning manager to talk to. Let a vm and email; no return call. What a racket. read more

Very beautiful and very clean. The rooms were spacious and very clean. Enjoyed my stay very much. The hotel bar was nice (the lighting could be a little bit dimmer). The barkeep Tom was very good in conversation and mixing cocktails. Enjoyed his company a lot, The only downside was that there was a robe shortage. Went to a formal party at casino and the hotel did not have our room ready until 8:00 PM. Check in time is supposed to be 4:00 PM causing us to have to get ready in a public bathroom and miss part of our party to finally check into room. If you plan on staying here just make sure you don't need to count on a timely check in. read more

Stayed for one night. Which was a pleasant stay. Upon recieving my email receipt it included a $350 smoking fee. Absolutely did not smoke in the room. Called hotel and they claimed "a sensor detected it and that the sensor was high tech and detected smoke molecules and could not be wrong". I suggested they go up to inspect room, clearly if I had smoked in room you could tell..cigarette smoke smell would stick around in the 8 hours after they claimed a sensor detected it. They stated the charge would apply with no regard to my suggestion. I asked to speak to someone higher up and they sent me to a voicemail and I am awaiting a call back. Absolutely the poorest customer service from a so called high end hotel. Customer Beware!, there was another review with same situation , I wonder if it was same room with a faulty sensor or just the sensors in general. I will be fighting this charge and not ever returning to the Landing Hotel. read more
