Well stopped in at Cypress Restaurant & Bar for lunch today. Figure would support the local business. Huge mistake needless to say. Ordered their smash burger lunch special and ladies and gentlemen save your money and go to B.J.'s Brewhouse or Buffalo Wild Wings because atleast at those two establishments you get your moneys worth for the burgers. They're $13.95 burger is literally 2 small slider patties on a bun. I took a picture cause you legit can't make it up how small they were. Arrived at 11:45 and the only customers there ordered burgers and fries which finally arrived to the table at 12:27. This was the first and only time will visit this business. read more

We wanted to try this restaurant because our friends were in from out of town in Slidell and we wanted to try Christmas drinks! We were NOT disappointed! This restaurant has mixed reviews but we found it wonderful! The restaurant was clean and beautifully decorated for Christmas! We started off with 3 Happy Hour Appetizers which were all good but our favorite was the spinach dip with pasta bow ties chips! So yummy! I couldn't decide which drink to start with when one of the bartenders said she had just created a Mardi Gras "New Fashioned" and made it a Christmas drink with icing and sprinkles. Wow!!!! It was delicious! I went on to have the Christmas Cookie martini which was also delicious and a Grinch Mimosa which was good as well. My friends got the Christmas margarita, the Crème brûlée margarita, eggnog martini and cinnamon White Russian. All were amazing! We actually like all of the drinks better than the ones we had at 2 Holiday pop ups! For entrees we had the Cypress burger which was cooked on point, juicy and flavorful along with cups of gumbo and a salad. All of the food was really good. Well the place was empty RED FLAG Had to wait to be seated RED FLAG Oder Cajun Pastalaya no problem! Waitress comes back says they can no do it!!! RED FLAG Wife ordered Seafood Platter and side salad the Thousand Island dressing tasted spoiled sent back... RED FLAG I Did the Seafood Scampi.... Scampi gets a 10 out of 10 !!!! Wife seafood platter was over cooked and they forgot her fries... We couldn't find waitress for that Red Flag The tartar sauce and cocktail sauce from a jar... RED FLAG HER STUFFED CRAB OVER COOKED RED FLAG Oysters tasted burnt look at pictures see the different color on stuffed crab and oysters and shrimp all different colors all over cooked but shrimp and scallops and hush puppies were good!! Crab Dip and bow tie pasta was spot on..... for the appetizer... This is our 3rd meal from here but sad to say it will be the last! Slidell Seafood Spot * Local Slidell spot right off Gause and Military. BIG menu selections so you are bound to find something you enjoy. This is my second time and not my last. Our waitress was very sweet in helping my mom and friends decide what to pick. Answered all of our questions and we had a lot haha! This was also my first time trying Flounder and VERY good! The way they crosscut the meat, made it very easy to come off. Just watch for little small bones around the edges. We also got the muffaletta and fried shrimp platter. Both were big portions and the shrimp were large. Overall great place, lots of fried options but you can also choose grilled and blackened if you wish. Most of the food was cold, including the chicken on top of the Alfredo. The restaurant was mostly empty and yet our server kept getting orders mixed up. The pasta was overcooked and the charboiled oysters were inconsistent. Some burnt and some partially raw. Need a professional to come in and revaluate to fix things for owner maybe. Servers were sweet but young & unfamiliar with the menu. Pulled pork mac n cheese special of the day sounded good but wasn't & had a few tomatoes chopped in it to simulate pepper jack instead of just peppers? Idk. The theme & concept has potential but recipes need serious revisiting. Charbroiled Oysters which usually smell heavenly everywhere else smelled rancid here. Cocktails are juvenile. Portion size & accommodations do not reflect high prices at all. Hard to discern with kitchen & servers if certain diets or allergies could be accommodated. Also, do not appreciate an uncensored music station being played with multiple curse & inappropriate words if it's supposed to cater to the whole family. Strawberey cheesecake " Bread Pudding" made from dessert scraps. Very thin and VERY dry with no rum sauce or anything. Served with sugar water diced strawberries. I ordered to be on side. Didn't taste bad but very skimpy for price considering it's literally made from leftovers & not exactly what I imagine bread pudding to be at all maybe rename it. "Mac n Cheese" ... pulled pork one. We went for a birthday lunch with 9 people. The food was very good The waitress looked like she didn't want to be there. Some of the food for our group and some didn't get thetheir food. Fifteen minutes went by with no communication. When I got up to find out what was going on I couldn't find the waitress. I asked to speak to the manager. When she finally came to speak to me she was rude. When I explained the situation she said she didn't believe me. Then she told me I could leave when I told her as a customer I was dissatisfied. Unfortunately for the owner, I will never bring another group to this restaurant. I do about 15 lunches a year with 10-20 people at each lunch. There are many lovely restaurants in the area. Delicious food! Wonderful staff (even when they were being yelled at and berated by a crazy lady who was looking and acting like a fool). This customer was yelling and used her hands to try to silence anyone who tried to help INCLUDING the owner! The entire restaurant saw and heard her. Her sense of entitlement was high and calling her a "Karen" would be an insult to Karen's lol. If I was one of the employees (or owner) being yelled at like this, she would NOT have been happy about the outcome (not like she was happy to begin with). I was embarrassed for the people that she came in with. Gumbo was top notch, our entire table LOVED it along with the rest of our food and drinks. Our third time here , was very disappointed this time and not impressed . Appetizer was not cooked stuffed mushrooms( mushrooms were raw) cold. Service was okay. Entrees so the shrimp scampi came out very fast. And the catfish poboy 20 minutes later. After I watched Molly walk out the kitchen with the sandwich and walked somewhere else with it. Stopped in and had lunch got a shrimp Poboy and appetizer. Was ok atmosphere. Service good .

Visited twice. Food was great both times but the service was awful both times. The server said the kitchen could get the food out.

The food is amazing, the service is phenomenal and the ambiance is so inviting. I recommend the catfish platter with the onion rings and jalapeño hush puppies. The crab dip was sooo good read more

Went first time about a month after opening and ordered Shrimp Scampi. Bland and lacked seasoning. Disappointed. After hearing some positive reviews on Facebook a few months later, I decided to take my wife there last night for dinner. Ordered the Boudin Eggrolls for appetizer and they were good. Salads arrived and was basically only wilted lettuce and croutons. Visibly brown-edged lettuce - the kind that would go in my garbage can at home. No other ingredients. Not good. Then the entrees arrived. My grilled Red Snapper was extremely bland and raw on inside. Most likely frozen fish. Could only eat the edges of the filet. Green bean side was basically bland canned green beans. My wife's entree was Pastalaya advertised as including Large Gulf Shrimp. Not a shrimp to be found. Plus it was bland as well. Showed server raw fish. She went to kitchen and came back saying the owner "apologized". Did not take it off the bill. Will not be returning and will advise friends and family not to either. read more
