Zero stars and the worst lobster roll in all Maine - the waitress was a fabulous young lady and it was her first day - she provided great service and was kind and pleasant - however the old maid manager with the short chopped hair was absolutely rude and angry as I was paying for my meal in full and tipped the waitress well, I said this was the worst lobster roll in all of Maine and the clam chowder should be renamed potato chowder - the manager cashier said ' no it wasn't we put 3.5 Oz of lobster in every roll". Ok, it's AWFUL however you make it You can't make this level of rudeness up folks STAY AWAY FROM THE LANDING - I ordered a cup of clam chowdah and a $24 Lobstah roll - the $7 chowdah arrived and was loaded with potato's and literally NO clams - the Lobstah roll was a huge hunk of bread and there were 3 small hunks of Lobstah in mayonnaise - see the photos - It was fresh but I was turned off that literally anywhere else in a 5 mile arduous you can have a Lobstah roll with triple the meat and less money I went 5 minutes down the road to the CLAW Lobstah shack and got a small roll for only $21 and it had 6.5 Oz of lonstah meat on the roll - read more

Our waitress Liz was super sweet and very attentive. I had the shrimp fettuccine with arugula topping and my friend had the chicken Alfredo pasta . I'd give a zero if I could. Very aggressive owners and worst customer service. We had gone once before and liked it. We decided to go for Father's Day. We are professional restaurant people. We asked for cocktail sauce, never came. The ceviche was horrible. We asked for our money back and to leave. They refused and told us we had to pay for the rest of our food then I asked for a cup for my cocktail to go, it never came. Then we literally were thrown out by the owner/manager (lady with short bob hair which if you look at other bad reviews is the same aggressive, bullying manager/owner) even though we had asked to leave and get our money back. The owner made matters worse by telling us just because we didn't like some thing didn't mean that their food was bad. Huh? I give them an F for customer service. So are you supposed to be force-fed food that is poor and not say anything? We have never been so poorly treated and had a spectacle made of us simply trying to get food that we ordered. It was very obvious that they were insulted that their food was not up to par and have zero customer service skills the owner even called me Karen on the way out and physically tried to push me out. I told him to keep his hands off me. It was crazy! What twilight zone are they living in? Wanted to make sure that people know how you're going to potentially be treated at this restaurant. They clearly only go on their view/Location. Customers waiting in line behind us talked to us in the parking lot and said they decided not to go in because of how they treated us. This place was recommended, so we swung by in the mid-afternoon for a late lunch. Pretty decent meal and we lucked up with a view of the harbor. We ordered the haddock sandwich, fish and chips plate, and the haddock chowder. My husband described his fish and chips as being a little soggy but tasted good. Not the best he had. My friend really did enjoy the haddock sandwich. Had no complaints with that. My son and I had the haddock chowder. My first experience with haddock chowder and it was really tasty. A little watery but tasty. Service on the other hand was not the best. Granted they didn't have that many people in the kitchen working. We waited an hour for food and my husband politely inquired about the wait. He was told by the hostess " there's just two guys back there working their asses off". Then it gets better. Our waitress comes to our table and informs us that she was told to come speak to us about the wait She was very abrupt and raspy the whole time we were there. It has been some time since we had been here, tried it today and loved it! New ownership for the last 3 years, so completely different from what i remember. We were here in a sunny April Saturday, so pretty quiet as the summer crowds have not hit the midcoast. There were some great tapas style apps, so my wife and i shared a few very unique and delicious dishes, starting with the cheese tray, the.going to a pork shank dish, lovely ricotta "pillows," and then a pork pate, wow! Tldr: Food is not that great, but wait staff even worse My wife and I like to try new restaurants when we visit the surrounding towns. Today, we stopped at The Landings for lunch. They were not overly busy, and we asked to be seated on the deck. Waitress seemed pleasant and took our drink order, then returned for lunch order. I ordered the Cowboy burger but asked for no lettuce or tomato and cooked medium. The wife asked for the vegan burger. After at least 30 minutes after our order was taken, the waitress came by and apologized for it taking so long. I replied, "No problem." I also make it a point to respond with "yes please, no thank you or no, but thank you for asking" when talking to the wait staff. Another 30 minutes at least rolls by, and a different person (owner or manager) stops by to say our order never made it to the kitchen as they had a printer issue, but its in now. And they comp'd my wifes fountain drink (thats costs what, maybe 50 cents to the restaurant??). After waiting another 30 minutes, the food comes out. My burger was med rare and had lettuce. Wifes vegan burger had two extremely small pieces of bread as the bun. She politely asked for a full-size bun. After we finished, the waitress came by and cleared the table but then didn't come back to ask if we wanted dessert or our check. After yet another 20 mins, my wife finally asks another waitress if we can get our check as it's been ridiculous waiting for our waitress. She finally brings it. I leave her a 10% tip based on her not following up on our order and having to ask for the check. After walking out of the restaurant. The waitress has the audacity to follow us out, check in had and say that while our food was late, she worked really hard, and we were very rude and to not return to the restaurant. I told her it wasn't a problem as we had no intention of ever returning anyway.we were nothing but polite while waiting on our food and check. Waitress didn't "work hard" as she should have been asking the kichen where her tables order was. And more prompt in bringing the check. She was just pissed I left her a 10% tip.she didn't really deserve that much. Stay away from this restaurant. Wonderful casual lunch spot. Beautiful harbor view from the shaded deck out back. Perfect spot for a lobster ______ and a beer/glass of wine. I came to this restaurant straight from maiden cliff (a somewhat strenuous hike straight uphill) and I didn't feel out of place or under dressed. The place has a very casual relaxed atmosphere. I came here for lobster after recommended by a local. Though totally forgot to order new shell lobster... Hard shell was nice and big. It was definitely good looking lobster but something was missing for me. Big meat but a little more tough to chew. I came to lobster fest last year and the one I had was the best one I ever had in my life and that was new shell. It's smaller but much softer meat, juicer and more flavorful. I recommend that you ask for new shell or soft shell lobster instead of massive hard shell, which is for tourists basically... Locals get new shell. read more

The sandwich was fresh and bright, although the breading was light on flavor. Great portion of fish, which offset the steep lunchtime price. Bread pudding was fair. We had lunch here before heading off to visit some lighthouses in the area. I really loved the place but am taking away one star because like many places in Maine, they had no AC, or had no AC running, and, the kids menus are taped in the inside cover of children's books that are delivered to the table when you are seated. We thought they were just cute books for the kids to enjoy, didn't know the menu was in there until my son started flipping through it. Aside from those two things, everything was great. The best scallops I have ever tasted. A generous serving of scallops with a simple salad. Great service and a meal with a view of the harbor. We are glad we tried this restaurant for dinner. We finished our meal with blueberry bread pudding and chocolate macaroon pie. Superb! read more

nice find here in Rockland. The view of course is what I first look for. Maine coast is amazing. Sat on the deck at 4:30 pm...had the fried clams totally yummy. Very clean and breading was light and crunchy. Hubby had the burger which I will say was really very good. I had a couple of bites and would have enjoyed it! Strangely they were out of bacon. 4 of us went last night. There was a big crowd but we went in to see how long a wait. It would be an hour and we said we'd wait. These gals were working so hard and were the nicest people ever. We were the last to be seated, well over their closing time. Our waitress was funny, so personable, made sure we took our time . Even brought us blankets as it was getting chilly. We went to this restaurant because it was close to our hotel. We waited at least 6 of 7 minutes before all waitress showed up. My girlfriend ordered fish and chips which she liked I ordered Lobster fettuccine alfredo since I was in Maine I assumed I would get fresh Lobster. I was wrong if the meat and my dish even was Lobster it was not fresh it was probably Frozen because it was hard and the Alfredo sauce left a lot to be desired. After walking around Rockland, we asked for a recommendation where to eat on the water. The Landings came with high praise, and it was well deserved. We sat outside on a perfect fall day and I enjoyed the lobster BLT. Thick, house cured bacon with a ripe true-red tomato, and Boston Bibb lettuce...perfection. My friend ordered the Caesar salad and it was terrific, too. There was not a morsel left on our plates, and the service was wonderful as well. We will definitely be back on our next visit to Rockland. read more
