I told her the appt time they had given me was 3, but we were okay waiting. She then told me that they don't make appointments on Saturdays, even though she was the one who made it..? When the first "student" came out, he took my 13 year old to the back. I was explaining to him that I wanted my son's curly hair left alone on top but the sides shorter, while the receptionist kept insisting on getting the $8 payment. The second student came out and he was cutting my 9-yo's hair, so I stayed closer to him and was only able to check briefly on my older son twice. While waiting with my 9yo, my 13yo came up to me close to tears, saying the guy was very rough with him and didn't stop after he asked him to. My son's hair was butchered. Instead of shortening the hair on the sides, he haphazardly buzzed the top of his head where all of his curls were. His hair was left so uneven, with patches of his scalp showing through. We were both horrified. It was my understanding that this "school" was comprised of instructors that watched the students and guided them. I asked the receptionist who the supervisor was that was supposed to be watching the students that day. She said she was the supervisor but that she doesn't watch all of the students and can't be in two places at once. I told her that we were upset with his haircut and she said, "What would you like me to do? I can't glue his hair back on." And then proceeded to tell me it was a good haircut. I told her that if it were her kid, she would be upset and she actually said that she WOULDN'T BRING HER KID THERE. Good to know I'm not the only one with no confidence in Federico. I then said that it was my understanding that she was there to supervise so things like this didn't happen and she said, "It's Saturday", as if the day of the week determines the amount of care given. The guy who cut my son's hair came up front and immediately started arguing and saying that I never told him how to cut it, which was a blatant lie, as I told him in front of several people. He mocked my son and pointed to his hair and said, "That's a great haircut for $8!" and then went off saying that for $8 he's only doing the bare minimum. I asked the receptionist/"supervisor" for her supervisor's information, which she wouldn't give me. She told me to go look on the website. She said that she is her own supervisor. She refused to give me her name or the student's name and actually said "You have to give me your name first before I give you mine.", told me she'd need to see my ID and then said I was being unprofessional. She was a short, heavy set Hispanic woman, with fake eyelashes and long highlighted hair. That's the only description I have, other than apparently she has a lawyer (yeah, she mentioned that too.) (She also later slipped and referenced "My supervisor.." and then corrected herself.) The guy who cut my kid's hair told me that they don't need me in there being an entitled Karen. Another student said, "You're paying $8! What do you expect?" I expected to have an experience with cosmetology students who took pride in what they're learning, not rude, snarky people who have zero empathy and just haphazardly chop off a 13 year old's hair and then try to convince him that it's his fault they did a terrible job. Milan has the same setup and they watch their students closely. I took my son to a different barber to see if they could fix his hair at all and when I told them where we were coming from, their first question was, "Wasn't there a supervisor watching?" Whatever this scam is, it's not a reputable school. They gaslight you when you call them out and then call security and say that you're creating a "hostile environment". I'd love for someone to contact me as this is a definite training opportunity, but they won't because they're only in it for the money. Don't go here for services. Ever. I wish them a speedy bankruptcy.

*Federico does NOT care about their students nor employees…read more Today I spoke with OSHA and filed a claim and discuss with them about a violation that is according at Federico college an employer is required under OSHA to have potable drinking water available at the work place which includes students as well this business is not complying with this regulation also the temperature that we are working in is 83 degrees which is unacceptable the school has more than 50 people attending imagine that we are all literally sweating I gather evidence and sent it to OSHA. Soon I will be taking these complaints to ABC News. If any students have something to say about this school please speak up it's not fair that we are giving this school our money and the least they can do is treat us like humans not like animals by providing us water and a cool temperature to work in.

Not sure if they still do, but years ago you had the option to book with a more experienced student who is almost graduating. If that's still an option, go for it - they are passionate and excited because they'll be graduating soon. Things seemed to have changed since the pandemic when everything shut down. They were slow to open back up and weren't offering cut and styling. They are again but only during the week; no more Saturday appointments. Nowadays, I come in just for the hair products. I've been using Paul Mitchell hair products since about 1985 and I still have the same hair style haha. They've changed / updated their fast drying sculpting spray a few times and I am still loyal to this product. I love to try new mousse and gels and sprays , this is my kid in a candy store place. I will always stay a Paul Mitchell customer.

And it upset me to see that ma dom and alicia are still there but not only that they got promotions like that's crazy.
