Finally, I found out I do qualify to come in to pay another $99 for further testing but they don't have any appointments available for further testing so I've been put on a wait list! When I was paying, they got me right in. It's so hard going from perfect vision for a year to now going on 6 months back to my horrible vision. This place is a total scam...I had a consultation to see if I was a candidate and they scheduled me for an appointment for the surgery which I cancelled yet they charged my credit card anyway as the said I signed something that authorized them to do so. I did sign some paperwork that I couldn't read because my eyes were dialated and they had me apply for care credit to make sure I could get authorization for payment if I decided to go ahead with the surgery, which I did not! I called to address this and they said I gave verbal consent which again I did not. It makes no sense to charge someone's card before the procedure takes place. I had PRK surgery yesterday and had an incredible experience at the LASIK vision institute. After shopping around for LASIK options in the Denver area, I found that the LASIK vision institute had a very knowledgeable staff and even better technology that I found at other LASIK centers. I also got an incredible discount through Groupon. Surgery at the LASIK vision Institute is affordable and well worth it. I did a lot of research ahead of time and found my experience to be exactly as planned. In the operating room the surgeon talked me through each step of the process. I felt at ease and the Valium really set any of my nerves aside. The actual laser process was only 15 seconds per eye and there was no pain the entire time! Overall, the surgery went very well and I was able to see immediately. Now it's the next day and I couldn't be happier with my results. I got LASIK done 6 months ago at this location. As of today, my vision still is not clear. I feel it was a waste of money. I would have preferred to know if I wasn't a candidate for the procedure. The office phone is always busy and the receptionist always sounds out of breathe as if she's running all day. I always felt rushed and as if they needed more help in the office. When paying my bill, it took the lady 30 mins to run my card. I was concerned. Upon several follow ups of concern of my vision not being clear, I was dismissed and advised it was normal. 6 months later, I have now transferred to another office with more patience and looking into possibly an enhancement. The see there is still stigmatism still there. I wished I waited and did my procedure with another office. I was a rushed job at this office. I have had such horrible vision since 2nd grade. Coke bottles, very thick lens 20/450 vision. Couldn't even find my glasses if I took them off and set them down. I let him know ahead of time that I had a fear of needles so he used an adjacent vibrating tool that made it so I didn't even feel the pinch of the needle! I highly recommend this place! They are super nice/professional! They answer all questions asked of them. Dr. Murphy (eye doctor) fantastic! Dr. Beyer's was the surgeon and was just fantastic! Dr. Beyer's would not do my surgery to do both eye's, he had me go see Dr. Murphy again and it ended up that I only had to have my left eye done! They really know what they are doing! The staff here was friendly with the exception of the optometrist. While he wouldn't perform the surgery I can tell you I interacted a ton with the optometrist for the laser center I ended up going with. This optometrist had zero bedside manner. I went in expecting to discuss LASIK and he told me that I really am better suited for PRI. He was abrasive and cold in describing the procedure. I had never heard of it and will tell you he could not have described it with any less sensitivity. When I mentioned to the consultant that I found the doctor to be abrasive he said oh he's like that with everyone. Yeah, that doesn't make it ok and, fun fact, it's not ideal for business. I hope that consultant isn't on commission as the optometrist sabotaged his commissions. Lasering my eye was a HUGE decision and no sale can replace being in a place you feel will take care of you. I'm puzzled why this location is getting such bad feedback (the new address is 4100 E. Mississippi Ave Ste 105, by the way - the address here is incorrect.) I just got lasik yesterday and had a great experience from top to bottom, including my post-op follow up just this morning. 1. The surgeries offered by this company are affordable. For lasik, you get at least $500 off per eye compared to other locations in the front range and they're not gimmicky...like offering you a TV if you sign up for surgery. My sister had lasik done 5 years ago at the 20/20 institute and paid 2K more than I did for the same services, including lifetime corrections. If you have a discount service like AmeriPlan, you might be able to save even more. If this is a "scam" like another reviewer says, I am sure saving a lot of money for being scammed. 2. You get valium to relax you before the surgery and at the end of your surgery you can see without your glasses. Seems like a win-win to me. P.S. if you have a high tolerance for valium - like me, I had 2 doses with no effect - then hit up your regular doctor for something stronger before you go in. I wish I had. 3. Dr. Craig Beyer did my surgery and he also did Kevin Costner's lasik so now I guess I'm 7 degrees of Kevin Bacon? (They were in JFK together.) 3. Read over all the paperwork you sign; of course you have to understand this is surgery and there are risks associated with any surgery. If you get the lifetime service, you are required to get an eye exam once per year. You can get it through them or go to your eye doctor and have them fax over the results. If you don't do this, your contract won't be honored. 4. *****If you schedule your surgery and follow ups on a weekend, do expect long waits because everybody had the same wise idea you did, smartypants - get your surgery on Saturday, follow up Sunday and back at work Monday. This is why they give you a long window ie. check in at 2:30 but you may not leave until 5 p.m. Again, VALIUM and be patient. Bring a book or something. I really recommend this place if you've been considering lasik. I wish I had done this 10 years ago. P.S. The day of the surgery we will told it would be up to a 3 hour wait, it was more like an almost 5 hour wait as they over booked. ( bait) then say your eye are different and are going to cost 4000 But wait if you do it by Saturday it will only cost you 3000. LIFE CHANGING! BEST THING I'VE EVER DONE FOR MYSELF!! My total experience was absolutely amazing!! From the very start with my initial phone call to my last follow up visit. The lady at the call center was very friendly, polite and informative. Scheduling an appointment was easy and flexible. My consultation was great, and everyone in the office was so friendly and knowledgeable. The surgery was quick! I think I was in and out in a total of 1 1/2 hours, I was home and in bed for the remainder of the day. I set up the eyes drops, and moisture drops, right on my nightstand and I was ready to recover. At about the 4 hour mark I was very itchy and in a pain, but the moisture drops helped a lot. That was about a good 30 mins. And then I really had to fight staying in bed, I felt great and I was excited to check out my new vision. But, I forced myself to stay. The next day, I could not believe it. My vision was perfect! I had the mono Lasik. And I love it!!! I went to my follow ups and everything looked great! My recovery was great, even with some days a little blurry or a little dry. But with each day getting better and better. I see so good at night too. I can't believe I was legally allowed to drive before. I can see all the road signs!! I wish I had this done years ago. I had the PRK procedure about 8 months ago. The staff is amazing! They are very thorough with their explanation of the procedure and the recovery. Very quick and easy going procedure. Definitely needed the pain medication prescribed. The recovery was short lived (2-4 days) but brutal. Follow up visits were super quick. Currently I have great vision. However it took about 3-4 months to get there. Well worth the wait. Used a Groupon and saved a ton. TIP: Use eye drops religiously! Check for a deal before making the call! read more

Dr. Karbassi did my PRK about a year ago. Before surgery, my vision was around 20/700 in one eye and 20/900 in the other. For reference, I think my contacts were at -6.75 and I hadn't updated the prescription in probably 5 years. Immediately after surgery, my vision had vastly improved. Although they probably wouldn't recommend doing this, I was back to snowboarding that week. As of the 6-month follow-up time frame, my vision had improved to 20/15 and 20/25 and is now as good as ever. The guy's a wizard. read more

Went in for the free consultation with high hopes of hopefully being able to ditch my contacts and glasses for good. The staff was very friendly but the optometrist was horrible. He was very rude and tried to finish up the conversation in under 5 minutes. When my mother asked about the risks of surgery, he scoffed in her face and was obviously very irritated we had any questions. He proceeded to speak to us in a very rude manner. I was floored someone in a provider role could be so disregarding of patient concerns. There are things that are optional to add which add to the price however I saw no reviews on what actually matters. The lasik was exactly as described. It took a little less time then they said1.5 hrs not 2. But the biggest point is no complications and my eyes are back to 20/20. I could honestly care less if they tried to sell me the moon or if they were rude so long as the surgery was effective and as advertised for the basic package. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. I went in for a lasik surgery on the 27th of July and expected to come out of surgery with a successful surgery. However about 5 seconds into the procedure their "flap maker quit working" and the surgery was a failure. Promptly afterwards I called and requested a refund. As of today I have still not been refunded for the $100 deposit I gave, the $145 eye drops, and the $1,200 charged to a CareCredit card. I received Lasik Surgery here on 8/19. It was performed by Dr. Craig Beyer. I am still in the recovery process- haze, fog, eye drops, the whole nine. So far, so good. The experience was outstanding. Great customer service. As a healthcare provider myself, I know bad care when I see it, and I didn't see it here. From the receptionist, to sales and marketing, to the optometrist, and surgeon, they all performed their roles as any business would that is in the business of making some money while providing a service. Do your homework, make your decisions about what is and what is not acceptable to you prior to showing up, and your experience will be great. Most importantly, listen to the doctor, I was the only one out of my surgery group who showed up the next day for follow up with my eye protective shields still in place, additionally, only half of the people seemed to show up to their surgery appointments with their appropriate medications in hand that was provided via prescription to them during the consultation. This is fast service, and they do work in volume. If you want padded treatment, then go to a boutique clinic where you can obtain that, and pay $4,000. The facilities here are clean, and organized. I hope my recovery goes well, bun so far, I would recommend anyone who is hesitant to give them a shot. I can see without glasses! read more

Creepy, unethical approach to marketing. I actually found out about them through my employer health insurance. They offer something called QualSight, which guarantees best rates for Lasik. Only come to find out, they ONLY work with LVI. In the meantime, I get a spam email for $299 an eye surgery, which you basically only qualify for if you don't need glasses anyway. Check the internet, there are LOTS of warnings about this being a total scam. So I cancelled my appointment. Seems very shady to me. read more

PLEASE research this business thoroughly before going here for their "cheap" prices. I recently was charged for a pre-op ("free" consultations my butt!), I was approved for surgery. My husband and I both took off work and drove 2 hours to their office. After walking in and having my check for over 2000 taken within the first few minutes, I was taken to a pre-op room and les than 5 mins. later the dr. came in to tell me that he didn't actually review my medical history and he decided not to do my surgery. While I was upset, I told them just give me my check and we will call it a day. I was told no - although they had my check less than 5 minutes I could have it back and it would take 8-10 weeks for me to get a refund. I was also told that my 100 exam would NOT be refunded even though the receipt specifically states " The $100.00 surgical scheduleing fee is fully refundable if the surgical appointment is rescheduled or canceled 48 hours prior to the surgery OR IN THE EVENT THE PARIENT IS DEEMED A MEDICAL NON-CANDIDATE". I recently called after waiting for more than a month, the office manager was horrible rude (talking and yelling over top of me trying to ask her for the corporate phone number). She then informed me that "she has no supervisor" (apparently she owns Lasik Vision Institute??) and she would NOT give my contact information to their corporate office. I was told that I will get my money when I get it and to not call again (this was my first time calling). I finally got a hold of someone in a call center that told me they were contact corporate to give me call which I have never received. I am now being forced to go through a civil court process to try and recoup the losses of this horrible experience per advice from the Denver PD. I hope that this review might help at least one person avoid the loss of time, money and piece of mind that I have. Please spend the little extra money for service from people who will care about you and your health, will actually read your medical files, and will not steal your money for a 8-10 week interest free loan. read more

Hello, recently I had Lasik surgery at this location almost 2 weeks ago today. The people were great and so was the outcome of the surgery. I can't complain really. I had my vision corrected for distance and I knew going into this that I would still need reading/computer glasses. Awesome! In a few more weeks, my vision should be 20/20 Left and 20/25+ Right. However, I only gave 4 stars because I don't think that anyone pays the same price... Look for the Groupon Coupon for $1400. I got charged $2600. It would have been $3000 but I chose not to get the plugs in my tear ducts. You really don't need them and it is a huge up charge. Just keep your eyes wet with preservative free tears. I didn't know about the groupon coupon until seconds before my surgery, seriously. So, while in the prep room, waiting to go into surgery, there was a young guy behind me in line. I couldn't resist and just had to ask. So, I asked, how much did you pay... when he told me $1400 I wanted to hit the pause button and the Ctrl Z keys. Wait a minute... undo! This place has a sales person that tries to get you to schedule right there during the consultation with a pitch of a discount if you schedule the same day. I don't like that approach and all of the bells, whistles and flashing red lights should be going off inside your head and gut. They size you up and the price changes depending on how they perceive you. Look... either they post the price on the menu or forget it. But, I have to say that I am happy no matter the cost. My distance vision is 25 years younger and I no longer need glasses to enjoy nature or drive. I can even read a menu without glasses and my vision is still getting better every day. I wake up in the morning and feel great about my decision. However, not everyone is the same. I do recommend that you get a second opinion and shop around. Don't fall for the sales pitch. Pick yourself up and say thank you, I am going for a second opinion, and do exactly that! Or tell them up front, this is the 1st of 2 or even 3 opinions I am getting. It's been 4 1/2 months(6-21-14) since getting PRK for pretty bad astigmatism in both eyes as well as bad nearsightedness. Between the price, service, procedure and results so far, I'm very happy.
