Food tasted microwaved. $5 to get in, not sure why tho...no band playing and we weren't using the pool. While the place is clean and seems well maintained, the service was extremely slow outside and I had to go in to ask if anyone was actually taking orders outside. They said they would send someone. Twenty minutes later I was still waiting. I went in to get a drink and left after that. I would have had a few and something to eat if the service wasn't so poor. read more

I love this place. Went for the first time this summer because I wanted to swim in a nice pool. The pool is enormous and super clean which is a plus! The owners here are very friendly. Overall the atmosphere is great. There's also live bands playing which is great entertainment. This is a really awesome place to go on a hot summer day to catch a nice tan and swim! I've spent countless summer days here mainly because it's just awesome. When I'm here, I feel like I'm at a resort outside of RI because it has a different feel to it. Huge pool, great drinks, good food and friendly service! The owner is awesome and very personable as well. He's always there making conversation with customers and joking around having fun. The place gets really lively when there's a band by the pool as well. They have lots of good entertainment. read more

Went to a private party here in August. Everything was fantastic. The servers were friendly and accommodating, and held doors open for people as we were going in and outdoors. The food was fantastic. Food and drinks were reasonably priced. The place was clean and service was prompt. The pool was awesome and the whole decor and atmosphere of the place was fun and inviting. read more

Had a great time with a bunch of friends at The Last Resort. If you like to have a drink, a bite to eat and watch some sports on TV this is the place to go! If you get bored inside at the bar you can wander outside to the large pool. You can swim or sit and watch a band playing. My favorite appetizer was the fried pickles!! read more

A friend and I have a little tradition to come out here to this restaurant at least once everytime i go home to visit family. I used to love it here until yesterday.. My waitress made the slightest mixup in the margarita price. We are all human, almost any mistake can be fixed. I end up spilling my drink being clumsy, completely my fault. New manager comes by, rudely embarrasses the poor waitress. And it was just the worst thing i have seen at this place. If she had some sort of problem, she should have pulled her aside and counseled her about it like a TRAINED professional, not in front of the guests making us all uncomfortable. read more

Food is OK. Drinks are OK. The staff and service were not up to par. They charge a $10 cover to access the outdoor patio and pool, although there is no lifeguard or entertainment or shade. Kind of overpriced. Its kind of a creepy atmosphere, at least in the summertime. read more

Been there Three time, The staff take your drink off the table before you are done with them, Slow to wait on you and Their Attitude Suck they pay Attention if you a Friend. I can see if you was busy, but it wasn't . This place is unbelievable - not in a good way. I very rarely think about ever writing bad reviews especially because my job is revolves around customer service and reviews. [Fun Facts: This is my first time doing a negative review and am doing this right as I'm Leaving.] I've been to this place multiple times and I always bring a Superman blender bottle in my bag everywhere I go. Instead of saying you can't bring it in the bouncer in the wheelchair said he has to have his manager come down and SNIFF my bottle to make sure it didn't have alcohol. It was very uncomfortable and caught me off guard. He also mentioned that the previous bouncers didn't do their jobs "right" and were fired. I had no problem putting my container back in the car and just coming back - but he advised me that I wouldn't be allowed entry. We were planning to buy pitchers of sangria and food while we were there so I didn't understand what the REAL issue was. Which really frustrated me. As this is going on I heard the bartenders and other workers also talking about the situation as I requested to speak to the manager. The manager was extremely rude and condescending and instead of acknowledging my frustration he basically talked down to me and interrupted me to say I was talking loud. [Duh, because I was upset]. He also said that I'm no longer aloud to go for the rest of the summer like that was a threat. Lol. It was my friends first time going and I've told him nothing but great things about this place. food was just ok from a bar perspective. The thing about this place is that it's more a bar than a restaurant. If you go in knowing this ahead of time, you won't won't be disappointed. I can't say enough about the staff and service!!!! My party was treated so wonderful!! Food was fabulous drinks were excellent!!! The music was great and we will not only return but will recommend this venue to not only friends but famy as well!! I suggest you give this place a try if you have not been since the new ownership took over (2017). The menu is amazing, every single thing I have ordered there has been delicious and well-prepared. The beer is a little over-priced, at $5 for a bud light bottle, but it is not as bad as some places I have been. The atmosphere is great, the waitstaff is accommodating, and the live music every weekend is a plus. I recommend giving it a try, as the new Last Resort is much better than the old Effin's. read more

Whomever they have managing Sunday nights, needs to loose his job! I over heard this freak talking down to one of the bartenders. He was dropping F bombs one after the other, seems he was mad about some mix drink. And he did this all in ear shot of the customers!!! At one point the bartender said to him "Very nice how you are talking in front of customers." His response "I don't give a F#@*! about the customers!!" The poor little thing (bartender) left there crying and shaking. I left right after in disgust, this was my first time there and it will be my last time. So very disappointed! For a friend's birthday party, my significant other and I were invited to the Last Resort for dinner + music. We arrived at 7:25...and the bouncer at the door charged us $5.00, without even a proper greeting. I inquired why their Facebook page says that the cover charge begins at 8pm...and they said those are during the winter month; summer months start at 7:30. So we proceeded to the bar and viewed the mini cocktail menu entirely consisting of tropical, fruity, wimpy drink. Seriously- a good cocktail should have a balance of liquor and nonliquor additions...but these were like 1 liquor to 5 juices. My friend ordered one, and I chose to skip the menu for plainer option: vodka cranberry. Now, I don't want to sound like a jerk, but there was literally no vodka in it. A huge underpour for a $5 classic. For dinner we ordered a basic pizza, which came out on average time and tasted equally average. It had deep fried eggplant on it that tasted too much like cooking oil, but it bearable. Then I order a strawberry sangria wig the waitress instead of the bar staff, hoping for better results (because there are 2 bars on site). After a longer than usual wait time, it arrived and after one sip I refused the drink. Zero resemblance of wine...100% resemblance of strawberry artificial syrup with juice. At the least the band was good, and others seemed to be tipsy enough to dance to the music. The night we attended, the band clearly attracted an older crowd, including several men with cigarettes and cigars. The smell was so strong...yuck! They should have separate areas for people that wish to smoke! Anyways, we won't be back. End rant. read more

Went today and was thoroughly disappointed to find out its $10 a person to swim now. Ridiculous, especially since all the other reviews say the food is trash. Used to love coming here with my friends on our bikes. It was perfect being outdoors where we could order drinks, food, and listen to music. But I have found that this has all changed with the new owners. Now you must pay $10 to be able to have food and drinks outside. They lost out on our big tab of food and drinks because they were greedy and wanted our cover charge. I will not come here again and will not recommend this place to my friends and fellow bikers. read more

I went to this place today with my wife and family. We were greeted by a man in a wheel chair who immediately checked our bags for food because they want you to buy their food and not bring anything, and I mean anything in to the pool area. We were treated like criminals. They checked every compartment of our duffel bags. We had our 15-month-old daughter with us and we had some baby food and crackers and grapes and cheese for her that apparently was not allowed. They even charged my 15-month-old daughter a $10 cover charge for the pool area. Yeah, like she was going to swim on her own. The wristband was so big that it could fit around her neck. The whole process took at least 15 minutes for the screening. I was expecting a cavity search next LOL. Once we finally got into the pool area after going through what seemed like an ACI intake session we ordered drinks and food all of which was terrible. The food was the worst food I've ever had in my life! The heartburn started immediately and the drinks seemed watered down. Even the soda seemed watered down. The pool itself looked like it hadn't been painted in 15 years. All the sides were chipped and paint was missing and the endless list of rules they had for the pool area basically made it so that it wasn't worth even swimming. The service was the worst I have ever experienced. The girls that were servicing the pool area seemed miserable and by their behavior seemed like they'd rather be somewhere else. Keep in mind if your tab goes over 50 or $100 there is automatically going to be an 18% tip added to the bill which is truly not deserving of anyone who is miserable with their job. This is a seasonal place that is obviously in business just to make money as fast as they can during the summer months. This place truly lives up to its name for it truly is a Last Resort for anyone that desperate to jump in a public pool, eat horrible food, get terrible service and pay $150 for a family of 4, one of which is only 15 months old for cover charge, food and drinks. Your money will be better spent at the beach. read more

my food was really good after i asked for it to be cooked longer than normal. server was great & knows the group i was with. they all like her too. my food took a long time but it was very hot on arrival so it wasn't the waitress' fault. very disappointed about the charge for swimming - esp when they 'close' the pool (without making it unaccessible) at sunset and there's no lifeguard. i don't need a lifeguard, really, but the fee is all profit the way it is now. i expected half the fun to be swimming in a lit-up pool after dark. now i won't bother going there again - without using the pool, at sunset it's just like any other restaurant. no reason to drive from the next county where i live. even though we were outside, we had cig smoke in our faces frequently. imho they should make the area to the left of the stage (facing the stage) a smoking area & have a fan to direct smoke away from the stage. there's room for more tables & chairs but not enough furniture. cover that night started at 8. i was glad i called ahead to ask. read more
