Cannot recommend the Lautner Compund enough! The micro-wedding package they offer is such an amazing option and we're so grateful we found this gem. Tracy and her team do an amazing job and make the process so easy. No wedding planning stress for us. We had such a special night that we'll never forget.

This is a fantastic little oasis of just 4 units just 20 minutes from downtown Palm Springs. If you are looking for a nice quiet stay in an architecturally significant compound, this is it. The compound is 75 years old and is comprised of 4 units, outdoor common area with seating, dining table and gas grill. There is also a small plunge pool for use dueling the warmer months. Given the age of the property and exposure to sun, sand and the desert heat, it requires constant upkeep to maintain. Tracy, the owner, is a wonderful host and super accommodating. Her and her business partner have done an amazing job of renovating and updating the property. The grounds and landscaping are beautiful and each unit is quaint, quiet and comfortable. Beautifully decorated, each unit is well stocked and well cared for. We stayed over the holidays and found the property to be exactly what we were looking for: small, quiet and exceedingly comfortable. I most highly recommend The Lautner Compound for a romantic getaway.

I am beyond happy that we chose The Lautner Compound for our wedding. Let me start by saying that Tracy is the absolute best. From day one when we wanted to go see the property, Tracy was very enthusiastic and super kind and sweet. When we met her, it was an instant connection. She was happy to show us around and provided us with her packages. We opted for the micro wedding package and boy am I glad we did. The thought of getting married was so overwhelming because we didn't know where to begin. When we met with Tracy, she made it so simple for us, we just needed to make a few selections, show up and enjoy ourselves. We worked with a fantastic and sweet florist Kate, a professional chef who made exquisite food (everyone couldn't stop talking about the delicious peach salad) and our photographer Benny who worked his magic and delivered some unbelievable pictures. The venue itself was just breathtaking and more than we could have ever imagined. In short, I'm extremely grateful that we had the opportunity to get married in such a special place with those we love and care for the most and I want to thank Tracy and her entire team for making it happen. I can't stress enough how wonderful the experience was and if anyone is reading this wondering if you should consider this place, I say without a doubt you should 100% call Tracy and make it happen because you wont regret it!

AWESOME venue for our friends nuptials!!! located in desert hot springs, about a 10min uber from Palm Springs, this locale is quite inconspicuous in a residential area. the place is deceivingly large with a wide open area dedicated to group gatherings and lounging. plenty of space for upwards of 200 people. there is a separate area for the bungalow rooms. the staff here was very accommodating and available to pick up after the guests and facilitate any other needs. the owner herself helped me out with the wifi so I can get ahold of uber. super cool and chic spot.

This is the not-so-secret gem of the desert! The perfect presentation of the sought after mid century modern look of 50's Palm Springs. Tracy the owner has the most immaculate taste it's mind boggling. I own a catering company that works at The Lautner all the time, and have (in my humble opinion) a good eye for design, and this is the best venue in the valley. Also, for vendors, it's a great place to work. If you're considering it for your wedding I would say book it before the date is gone!

I can not praise this establishment enough!!!! 5 star all the way. Exceptional customer service. Our host went out of our way after our room had to be changed the day of arrival due to unforeseen circumstances beyond their control. She left a beautiful gift that was beyond necessary and extremely appreciated. My husband and I needed this get away for many reasons and it exceeded our expectations. The indoor outdoor lay out is refreshing and renewing. The architecture is mesmerizing and peaceful. You feel like your in your own private Palm Springs getaway secluded yet open , incredible!! We can not WAIT to come back. Thank you to the management of this beautiful property for going above and beyond

This place is a gem. Tastefully reworked John Lautner Motel is a must for any enthusiast and people who appreciate a highly stylized and piece full experience away from home. A nice touch are all the John Lautner books and documentaries as well as a very well curated movie and music selection in the room. Thank you for a great stay!

We love this Hotel originally built in 1947, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright protege John Lautner, recently remodeled/updated and very well done with new redwood inside and out. Heath ceramic tiles in the bathrooms.

Came here on recommendation from a friend. The pools are beautiful and it's not crowded. Few guests, probably intentionally limited. The spas are great. We reserved a wood hot tub and a private tub (free reservations when you stay overnight) but honestly didn't even need it since there were plenty of tubs open. So did we need hot springs when it was 90F out? Not really but it was lovely. Staff friendly, warm welcome at the gate and reception. Much appreciated cold drinks from the bar and limited poolside and from your hot tub drink service. Restaurant served up nice sounding food with good elements but not quite out together well. Like some mushy forbidden rice under fantastically prepared lamb, or rubbery fried Halloumi on a very crisp and perfectly dressed bed of arugula. Not sure why none of it worked together but on paper it looked great. In real life was more unique. Overall a very relaxing stay. It's really close to J tree so pretty far from LA and San Diego which is great if you want / need privacy. Grounds are lovely with a duck and turtle pond. Tons of upsells here ($400 massage? I'll just fly to Thailand thanks). A couple free classes we didn't attend. 7:45 am yoga not happening on a retreat where we sleep in.

SO MANY COCKROACHES…read more There are A LOT of cockroaches here. When the sun goes down, they're running all over the walkways. It's a bit unnerving. They're also in the rooms - we found 3 in our room, told staff, they said they would send someone but never did. They just said "oh no! Apologies for the inconvenience" They're also in the pools. Our last night, sitting in the shallow meditation pool, I felt something on my shoulder, swiped it away and discovered it was the most massive 2.5 inch cockroach on me frantically trying to swim away. It was my worst nightmare. After that, every little thing I felt I kept thinking was another cockroach crawling on me. Really soured our experience here. Yes the grounds are beautiful, the waters are incredible, restaurant food was good, the bed was super comfortable, and our favorite part is the pools are open 22 hours a day (closed from 6-8am for cleaning) which means we can enjoy them late at night when most people are sleeping - a rare thing to do at a resort as most places prevent guests from enjoying any public water therapy after 9 or 10 at night. It has the potential to be a really amazing place but after seeing probably 30+ cockroaches on the property, in our room, and then crawling on me, I just can't really recommend this place as a peaceful sanitary getaway. I mean this place is infested and the resort doesn't seem to really care how much it's negatively impacting their guests. So if they don't care, then I'm certainly not going to be a patron of their business. If they reach out and try to make it right, if they improve then I'll update my review.

He met us and showed us around the land - there really is something for everyone here. The property is huge and is very spread out so there is a lot of privacy, even if other guests are present. It is conveniently close to town but also removed from the hustle and bustle. The water is divine and the staff are super down to earth and helpful. Well where do I start? My 3-day trip to O Spa 'Resort' was my 4th trip. And probably my last. I did…read more3 day passes since Coachella rates were $450 a night. I arrived on Friday to a cold main pool (i wish I'd measured the temp) and the overflow drain was plugged and backing up into the pool. Crud was flowing into the pool. So a cold dirty pool. Ok. You see, I'm a hot springs nerd and this is why I go to O Spa. For the water. Clean unchlorinated water. Upon then investigating the lower shallow pool, all the fresh hot water was on full blast in that pool and going to drain and down the hill. All that hot water SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE MAIN POOL. So I spoke with Marcos the new manager about it and he's awesome. I told him about the fresh water pipe that used to flow into the main pool and its valve which was now cut off by a saw. Why? So I get why they didn't want more water going into the pool as it will literally overflow if the drain is clogged. Ok, I convinced him to pump out the overflow drain (I went to my van to retrieve a pump... who brings a pump to a resort? ME! I told you I'm a hot springs nerd). By the time I had come back, Marcos had connected a length of pipe to the hot source! Awesome ! Let's pump this cold nasty water out and fill with CLEAN. NOPE! Rick the owner intercepted my idea and was scolding Marcos when I came back with the pump in hand. 'Why is he holding a pump?' I overheard him ask. TO FIX THE PROBLEM! I retreated to my lounge chair without saying a word and began thinking I should forfeit my 3 days of money and go to Mi Kasa or any number of other hot springs on that Miracle Hill. But no, I stuck it out. So now they are filtering this stagnant water and heating it. While you have FREE HOT FRESH WATER FROM THE EARTH! This is not why I came... to swim in cold chlorinated water. Ok so by Sunday the pool had finally heated to 92 degrees (yes I measured it because I'm a hot springs nerd) and it was decent enough. I didn't put my head under water tho. Nope. But with this method of heating, the other two pools got out of whack. The grotto pool was a nice 97 degrees Friday where many of us watched Coachella together (thanks to me also bringing a 2.1 sound system and an iPad) , but then Saturday night, it was 102 degrees and you couldn't just stay in for hours. Why? Because the main pool overflow drain! Fix that! You have to! Is that even legal? Seriously, what does the Riverside County Health Department think about that? I'm going to inquire. Fill the pool with fresh hot water and let it drain. Let it flow. I am one of the few people that use and even know how to fill the stand-alone bathtub. It's awesome to drink morning coffee in your own tub in the chilly desert air. But again, you have to turn off the lower tub valve to provide pressure to the bathtub. And if you close it all the way? The whole system crashes and then there is zero water. PUT SOME SIGNS UP! Also, you have to bring your own bathtub drain plug. They can't provide a bathtub drain plug? So the bathtub is useless unless you're a nerd like me. Ok, now let's talk about ice. People have to leave the resort and drive into town to get ice for their drinks? Are you serious? The rooms were $450 a night (Coachella rates) but you can't provide ICE?! The Vevor icemaker they have looks ancient and the display was glitching out. GET A NEW ONE. From my quick math with Coachella and Stagecoach rates, that place hauled in $60,000 just in April ! Not including mine and others day fees! Fix that overflow drain and fix that ice maker! Buy a new one! So instead of relaxing for three days like I wanted to, I spent most of it dealing with cold pools or too-hot hot pools. We had fun thanks to my speakers and Coachella. But it's like camping there. It isn't a 'resort'. It's a campground. Gotta bring your own ice and your own bathtub plug. I've tried to help and had a way to fix the problem but was met with glares and anger. Go buy a pump! They aren't expensive. This isn't rocket science guys. I'm a former mechanical engineer who thrived in thermodynamics and am a hot springs junkie. I'll go elsewhere where the water is clean and not chlorinated. It's a hot springs after all isn't it? FIX. THAT. OVERFLOW. DRAIN. Then we can talk. And maybe I'll come back and bring my money.
