Classic smash with 2 patties, bacon, and crispy fried onion
Zach T.

First time visiting The Lazy Manatee but it won't be our last. My wife was in the mood for a burger and our regular spot was closed so we thought we would give this place a try. Boy am I happy we did. The service was great. The burgers were great. With Space Balls playing on one tv and Armageddon playing on another, my wife made the comment that it felt like it was own version of "Cheers." Nice addition to the neighborhood.

Great place hidden in a small plaza. We were quickly greeted by two servers when we entered. We chose to sit at the bar since we were only planning to have a drink and an appetizer. We had the jalapeño poppers with pimento cheese and wrapped in prosciutto. I can say we were slightly disappointed. The jalapeños were barely warm and the prosciutto wasn't cooked. They just weren't very flavorful and weren't what we expected. However, the folks next to us had a burger and they looked amazing. Next time we go, we'll definitely try one of their burgers! We loved the great variety of beers. The bar tender let us sample a couple to help us make a decision.

Finally made it to the Lazy Manatee. Their burger was really good and the chips are addictive. They have a nice selection of beers on tap and I'll n cans. They also have a variety of craft sodas in bottles. They have a nice lounge area and a kids play area that they play kids shows on if requested. My son loved watching Bluey while eating his dinner. Servers were very attentive and helpful. My husband was happy they have a poker night too! We will be back!

The lazy manatee is sneaky good! Heard a lot of internet buzz, and full disclosure i love manatees so I figured let's check it out lol. My husband and I had a wonderful friday date night here. We live prob 20 mins away and don't frequent this area of town, but we are both glad we made the drive. I wish I caught our waiter's name- he was excellent, clearly hyped about this new bar & restaurant and had nothing but positive things to say about the chef. I crushed the soft pretzel- best in town! I would legit go back just for that! Also enjoyed a handful of beers, both on drafts and from the cooler. I felt they have a huge variety of beers and they were at reasonable prices. The best part was how much my husband LOVED the smash burger. He isn't one to go crazy over food, but while he was eating it he just kept saying "this is incredible!" He's talked about it on repeat and told all our friends. (He even went out of his way to tip & compliment the chef). We'll for sure be back!

Pulling up I wasn't sure what to expect. Walking in, the atmosphere was very welcoming. The wait staff were very friendly and helpful, The beer list was extensive, and the food was very good. I got the PHX nachos and they were a LOT. Don't get me wrong, they were delicious, but when they say shareable, they are not joking. Even on a good night after a 24 hour fast and adoption of a pet tapeworm, I'd have never been able to finish them on my own.

Pretzel with beer cheese and mustard. Huge!

Cute little spot for Arlington, modern, clean- including a kid corner towards the back. Bar or tables, your pick. Draft beer and soda. Food is just enough for a quick spot to hang. Will be back again!

Nachos were great.

Great new spot and addition to Arlington! Glad to have them here, and the Nachos were great.

I was pleasantly surprised to see they had a full bar with liquor as well as all the bar taps. Tons of friendly staff to explain the lay of the land and how the self serve bar taps work. I liked how the taps were organized by type of beer and they always identified the local brews with "904" above the tap. Also liked the extra touches like offering chilled glasses and free soda refills. Didnt order any food, but most patrons did seem to be eating. Enjoyed the different seating options, including a more chill lounge experience with couches upstairs. Decent amount of tvs to watch sports. Bar tab seemed a little steep considering you serve yourself, but I get that is how they probably are able to have so many brews at one time. If I happen to be downtown I will for sure visit again!

Last night a group of friends and I came here to celebrate a birthday. Nothing big or fancy, just wanted a good time with good people, with plenty of food and drinks. - The Taps System - Upon using the tap systems, between my husband and I more than 4 taps we're emptied, but we were still charged 2oz - 4oz pours... even if nothing but foam came out. There was even one instance where my husband was charged for a 4oz pour before he even touched the handle. - The Food - My husband and I only ordered the chip duo (comes with queso and salsa). You can tell the salsa IS made fresh in house, but it was extremely sweet, almost like a ketchup sweet but not the same consistency. It really needed some extra seasoning blends in it. The queso was good. I enjoyed that, but nothing too special about it, but good. A friend of ours ordered a burger, and after waiting 20 minutes for it, he was told he never placed the order for it. He pulled his phone out, showed where his payment had gone through and order was submitted, and then come to find out, the kitchen so.ehow didn't receive the order or his ticket got lost in the process along the way... so he never got food. Frustrating. Another person at our table ordered a special made drink from the bar, and after waiting 20 minutes for it had to ask about it and what happened. Then a couple minutes later two came to the table, she let them know she only ordered one, so they took the second one they goofed on making. - Service - I forget her name. She said multiple times she was new and had only just started. Bright, bubbly, energetic, and full of charisma. She is the reason this isn't a 1 star TBH. She was an absolute delight and wonderful to have serving and assisting us. I wish I remember her name, but she had wavy/curly hair and a sunny little finesse to her we all enjoyed. She was your saving grace last night for all of us. I hate to say, but after the multiple mishaps, we probably won't return. The atmosphere and space are great and beautiful, but the many failures in different aspects really made it feel like it wasn't a one off thing. When we reviewed our receipt at home, we noticed that a lot of the overcharges from the empty taps were not removed, and in this economy, that really sucks.

We'd been here before but only once prior to a Michael Jackson event at Painting With A Twist nearby. First, let me say that I made my beer choice on name alone. It ended up being a great sour red though, so I'm not mad at it. Humor goes a long way with me though, so even if it wasn't great I would've dealt with it on name alone: Cherry Busey! We only hung out for a little bit (again, we need to get home for dinner) but it would he very easy to stay for longer. You can see from the photos that they have a ton...and I mean a ton of craft beers. In addition to that, they have a big room with lots of room to kick back. Our night was delayed shortly when my wife decided to take on one of those wooden barrel puzzle. You can see her dismay in the picture of us! We both took a crack at it for a while and never did solve it, but we eventually decided we needed to let it go. You win this time wooden barrel puzzle! One other thing to note is that there's parking behind it. So if you decide to go there, don't be intimidated by what looks like street only parking. Go around behind the place and you'll be all set.

Most who know me know that I am a craft beer aficionado and many (and I mean, MANY) of the craft beers that I've enjoyed are bought from or enjoyed within the confines of Beer:30. I love a great brewery as much as the next person, but as someone who loves to try out new and different beers that are not located in North Florida, the local bottleshops are my usual place to go. Beer:30's staff works incredibly hard to have a wide swath of options for any craft beer drinker. I am someone who enjoys all kinds of different beer, but who usually opts for something on the sour side of the house. Luckily, there's usually something in the fridge or on tap that fits the bill. Not to mention, how many prestigious selections from near opposite sides of the country that they are able to obtain through their distributors. Another great thing about bottleshops is that you can put together a mix-and-match 4-pack or 6-pack to take home with you. You can even get just one or two if you don't necessarily want an entire 6-pack. I will forewarn folks that some of the cans may seem a bit pricy, but it's the unfortunate side of the brew scene as a whole with the cost of aluminum and ingredients consistently going up. Beer:30's ownership changed hands not too long ago, but what I've appreciated in that changeover is the quality events and promotions. There's a silent reading hour every Tuesday, they are starting to host Diana Testa and her Italian Cooking Lessons, different fundraisers for local nonprofits, as well as beer collabs with local breweries. They've been hosting all sorts of cool arts and craft workshops, plant swaps, Beer:30 Day (on the 30th of the month), tap takeovers, and beer pairings (that Sundae Fundae with Left Hand Brewing & Mayday Ice Cream has been my fave so far). As always, Beer:30's anniversary parties are a can't miss! Due to my work schedule, there's been quite a few that I haven't been able to take part in, but I'm so happy to see their success.

There's an ease here, a sense that people aren't just passing through. I took a seat at the bar, did what one does in such environments, and ordered an IPA. It was solid... confident, balanced, exactly what you'd hope for. But then came the onion rings, which I ordered based on a subtle but unmistakable social cue: everyone else seemed to be eating them. Reader, they were correct. These were not mere onion rings. These were structurally sound, texturally precise, and philosophically complete. Large, fully cooked onions, no trace of that unpleasant raw bite, encased in a crisp, golden coating that somehow maintained its integrity from first bite to last. Crunchy, consistent, and deeply satisfying. Naturally, I paired them with blue cheese dressing because I'm from upstate New York, and that is not a preference, it is doctrine.
