I had a great time trying a bunch of different beers and even some wines and a mixed cocktail at Pour Taproom. I was pleasantly surprised to see they had a full bar with liquor as well as all the bar taps. Tons of friendly staff to explain the lay of the land and how the self serve bar taps work. I liked how the taps were organized by type of beer and they always identified the local brews with "904" above the tap. Also liked the extra touches like offering chilled glasses and free soda refills. Didnt order any food, but most patrons did seem to be eating. Enjoyed the different seating options, including a more chill lounge experience with couches upstairs. Decent amount of tvs to watch sports. Bar tab seemed a little steep considering you serve yourself, but I get that is how they probably are able to have so many brews at one time. Ugh, I hate, hate to leave bad reviews, and I leave them so very sparingly because I know the majority of them can be over zealous and unwarranted. With that being said... Last night a group of friends and I came here to celebrate a birthday. Nothing big or fancy, just wanted a good time with good people, with plenty of food and drinks. - The Taps System - Upon using the tap systems, between my husband and I more than 4 taps we're emptied, but we were still charged 2oz - 4oz pours... even if nothing but foam came out. There was even one instance where my husband was charged for a 4oz pour before he even touched the handle. - The Food - My husband and I only ordered the chip duo (comes with queso and salsa). You can tell the salsa IS made fresh in house, but it was extremely sweet, almost like a ketchup sweet but not the same consistency. It really needed some extra seasoning blends in it. The queso was good. I enjoyed that, but nothing too special about it, but good. A friend of ours ordered a burger, and after waiting 20 minutes for it, he was told he never placed the order for it. He pulled his phone out, showed where his payment had gone through and order was submitted, and then come to find out, the kitchen so.ehow didn't receive the order or his ticket got lost in the process along the way... so he never got food. Frustrating. Another person at our table ordered a special made drink from the bar, and after waiting 20 minutes for it had to ask about it and what happened. Then a couple minutes later two came to the table, she let them know she only ordered one, so they took the second one they goofed on making. - Service - I forget her name. She said multiple times she was new and had only just started. Bright, bubbly, energetic, and full of charisma. She is the reason this isn't a 1 star TBH. She was an absolute delight and wonderful to have serving and assisting us. I wish I remember her name, but she had wavy/curly hair and a sunny little finesse to her we all enjoyed. She was your saving grace last night for all of us. I hate to say, but after the multiple mishaps, we probably won't return. The atmosphere and space are great and beautiful, but the many failures in different aspects really made it feel like it wasn't a one off thing. What a great spot Pour Taproom is. Centrally located, it is a great place to walk to if you're staying in the downtown area. The space can take very large office parties or solo travelers wanting to enjoy a great big salad and incredibly made sides - the sprouts are a must, as are the incredible wings. We've been to Pour Taproom downtown Jacksonville many, many times since they opened. I thought I'd finally share a new review of our latest visit because we both tried things we'd never had before. I tried their wings for the first time. I chose Lemon Pepper which is one of my go to's along with Garlic Parm. They weren't they biggest wings in history and but they were very tasty and VERY crispy. I think they're priced right for the size compared to what you see around town. I was honestly surprised by how crispy they were. I'd get them again based on this first experience. My wife tried their Steak Burger for the first time, having tried their Smash Burger previously. She liked their smash burger but loved their steak burger. She usually orders her burgers cooked Medium. She said she was asked if she wanted this burger cooked "pink or no pink", so she asked for pink. It was cooked to her liking, so that's good. It's worth noting that she really likes the seasoning they put on their fries as well. One of the reasons we love Pour is that we're downtown a lot for events and the location is fantastic, especially since they're connected to a parking garage. Pour Taproom has a fun concept, and even as a non-beer drinker I found plenty to enjoy. I appreciated that they had a few wines (the cabernet was solid) and a surprisingly good sangria on tap. The QR code "secret menu" is worth checking since it really does have extra items not on the printed menu. I tried the fish sandwich and was impressed with the fresh ingredients and how well it was cooked. Food service was fast, and the space itself is huge with room for multiple large groups. The second floor is stylish and mirrors the same automated tap setup, with a wide selection of local brews. Music was lively but not overpowering, so conversations were easy. Parking was also a breeze with metered spots right out front, which I think are only enforced during business hours. Overall, it is a great spot to hang out, whether you are into craft beer, wine, or just looking for a laid-back place with good food and atmosphere. read more

We spent a rainy afternoon at Pour Taproom downtown, and it was such a fun experience! I love the concept. You get a wristband upon entry, that you pay for there, but can add on more at your table. It gives you access to pour your own drinks, so you can sample a wide variety of beers and ciders at your own pace. It's perfect for anyone who enjoys trying new things. I'm not much of a beer drinker myself, so I planned on sticking with cider, but when I spotted the espresso martini on tap, I couldn't resist. And it did not disappoint! The food was classic bar fare, but everything we ordered was tasty and came out quickly. We went all out with a bit of everything: pizzas, wings, fish and chips, burgers, plenty of appetizers, etc. It turned into quite a feast! The staff was hospitable and attentive, they made sure we had everything we needed. We sat on the upper level, which gave us a great view of the place and the people below. There weren't any big games on that day, but I can imagine the atmosphere would be electric on game days. Before heading out, we stopped by the bar for a few shots, and the bartenders were awesome! Happened upon this place on accident going through downtown. Has been open just a few months. There were 2 large corporate parties when I walked in, so I dodged the taproom, but definitely want to come back to check that out. Went over to the pizza parlor side. The staff were really friendly. The bartender was really attentive, ever had to flag her down. Cute retro decor. Ordered the cheese slice (they didn't have many pork-free options, but they did have a sign posted that supply chain for their beef was impacted recently). Pleasantly surprised by this place! In a good way. On tap they offer beer, wine, and cocktails. Blueberry lemonade was my fav. My family stuck with the beer. They offer all American food selections. I was so excited to come here on Superbowl Sunday. I did not know what to expect. There is a upsyair and main floor. I would have like to go to the second floor but the Mrs. Handicapped p revented us. The menu is scanned. There is also a pizza shop next door. The pizza looked dismal. I ordered lemon pepper wings that had to be sent back. In special order, I specified dry rub and all flats. The order was brought out with a mix of wings and no dry rub. I summoned the manager to deduct the wings since this is not what I ordered. I had the jerk egg rolls very tasty. Wifey second order was the beignets. I sipped beer all night. I was sooooo excited that a pour-your-own style taproom opened in Jacksonville. The space is perfect for this kind of thing and I'm glad they're capitalizing on it. Basically, you open up a tab when you get there and get these red rubber bracelets with RFID tags in them to track the pours. Then, grab a pint glass and find something on tap that you like by tapping the bracelet, choosing your tap, then pouring. I love that you don't have to commit to a pint for every option. I also like that they do seem to have a large selection of sours and at least 1 Congaree and Penn cider (I think having all of their ciders would be a game changer honestly). I'm not sure how they're keeping the kegs cold, but they could be doing better and it could be colder. I am however glad that a small cooler of chilled glasses. Previous bars like this I've been do didn't have that option so it's a nice touch. The wings aren't terrible but they also aren't anything to write home about. I'd get them again but I wouldn't ever crave them. The service is lacking for sure. Nobody is on top of it when it comes to silverware or plates. I wish they would just leave the silverware wrapped up in a napkin and call it a day. The other qualm I have about this place is that there is a 20% tip automatically if you do a "quick return" for the bracelets. I came across this gem visiting an old employer not too far away and enjoyed this well-decorated, well-lit, aesthetically pleasing place before their grand opening. The staff were upbeat and super friendly! The drinks are mainly from tap and you're given a wristband to self manage your own consumption. I finally made it back to actually try the food and drinks. Loved being able to try so many beers/ciders with little pours! We ordered a few appetizers to share at our table. We ordered the Hot Buffalo Boneless Chicken Wings. They were very disappointing. They weren't very spicy and the "meat" reminded me of a meatball. We also tried the jerk chicken egg rolls. Reading the description they sounded delicious. However, they didn't taste anything like jerk chicken that I've tried in the past. The sauce drizzled on them should be served on the side because no one at our table liked it. Finally, the nachos which were delicious! They had plenty of cheeses and shrimp. I do think they would be better with some diced tomatoes and more bam bam sauce. I love the concept and the fact that it's helping to bring some life to a sleepy downtown. What a unique place! Where do I start? I love the concept! Drinks for everyone from fountain drinks, margarita, vodka mix, and many choices of beer. The food and service here is phenomenal! We had the Bavarian pretzels to share, WOWWW!! They are phenomenal. My fiance had a Greek salad that he very much enjoyed. I had the steak burger, and the flavor combinations were perfect! The flow of things is a bit confusing, whether you're supposed to seat yourself and how to do the self-serve tap. But our server, Brenda, did a great job at explaining things! She was very kind, attentive, and had everything out for us in great timing! Soft Opening Preview: Stopped by Tapp Pour Room. They are in their soft opening. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed. Their burgers, sandwiches, fries, & tots are on point. Perfectly season and well toasted breads. There are some hiccups during our visit. It took over 20 minutes to place our order. 80% of the mocktails were out. The checkout process is slow. The server had to go back and forth between the table and register to run each of our cards. PSA: The steak chili bowl is southwest inspired using a mole. It's not your typical southern chili. The drinks (beer, cocktails, and wine) you can buy by the ounce. They range from $.32 to $2.00 an ounce. You get a wrist band to sample the drinks up to 32 oz before needing the server to approve for more. We will define back to explore more of the menu & mocktails. Came to try PTR with my wife. Upon entering, we were greeted and explained to that you can seat yourself and that it is a cashless establishment. They provide little wristbands that interact with the many taps that are upstairs and downstairs if you want to try the many drinks on tap . Even though it was a packed house, the place is very open and airy. We chose to sit at the bar to get the whole" sports bar " experience. Our bartender Byron was friendly and made some good drinks. I ordered the Bavarian Pretzels, Jerk Chicken Egg Rolls, PTR Steak Burger, and had a Passion Fruit Mojito. The mojito was very good, it was sweet but not lacking, the pretzel tasted good it was soft and buttery, baked, not fried. The queso was meh, it reminded me of velveeta. The jerk chicken egg rolls were full of chicken and were a generous portion, and though they were very tasty, I didn't really taste any jerk. It came with a barbecue sauce that may have had a modest jerk seasoning in it. The steak burger tasted fresh and I got tater tots with mine. Overall, the food was good, what you would expect for a sports bar for sure. The drinks are plentiful. The positioning of the TVs make it pretty easy to watch sporting events. Great spot !!! I was in town for Monday Night Football and after the Jags win we went to grab a bite and some drinks here. DJ Dr Doom had the place rocking with a full house of fun fans with amazing energy!! The food was very good ...we got burgers and wings .I did not drink but the taps were plentiful and it has an upstairs area that's private and perfect! This was definitely a mixed bag Evening... First time to the place and really enjoyed the set up, ambience, and environment. But unfortunately the service was a disaster! We ordered three items off the menu and two of them came up in a reasonable amount of time but the third item, a burger, did not show up after a very very long time. Since you don't have a waiter/waitress, there's no one really to ask except for food runners that are running around. When we finally got someone to stop by the table they discovered that the kitchen somehow missed our burger and that they would have it "right out". Still... After another 20 minutes later we finally got the burger... After a total of over 1.5 hours of waiting!!! Manager ended up comping the burger but ithe burger was thrown together and not the best. Finally after checking out with the cashier we discovered our Bar Tab was over $100! Very expensive drinks (6 ounces of margarita was $13.50 for example), and while it's great to sample different options, you have no idea how expensive everything is until the end. read more

Tried calling to get this handled and the first time no one answered, the second time they put me on hold and then after waiting for at least 10 minutes, I was hung up on. I don't normally leave negative reviews, but my experience at Pour Taproom in Jacksonville was so frustrating that I feel obligated to warn others. We stopped in before a concert and weren't familiar with the self-pour system. One thing that really bothered us was being charged for foam. If you poured 2 ounces of beer and ended up with 6 ounces of foam, the system still charged you for the full 8 ounces. My son and his girlfriend came back to the table several times with cups that were half foam, yet we were charged as if they had received full pours. We also ordered three orders of chicken wings, but our receipt showed we were charged for four. The biggest issue, however, was an unexplained charge of **$107.10**. We never received a printed receipt because we were told their receipt machines were down. Instead, I received texted receipts. Those receipts itemized our food and drinks, but they did **not** explain the additional $107.10 charge. Over the next week, I called approximately eight times trying to speak with someone and asked for an itemized receipt or explanation of that charge. Every time I was told someone would call me back. No one ever did. To this day, I have never received an explanation of what the $107.10 was for. My biggest disappointment isn't even the money--it's the complete lack of customer service. A simple phone call or an itemized receipt explaining the charge could have resolved this. Instead, I was left feeling ignored and taken advantage of. My advice to anyone visiting is this: **watch your pours, verify every item on your bill, and do not leave without a detailed receipt.** If something doesn't look right, get it resolved before you walk out the door.I won't be returning the next time I'm in Jacksonville. There are too many restaurants that value their customers and provide transparent billing. Patrons, beware. read more

I love that Jacksonville finally got a pay by the ounce place. It's a great way to try a lot of different drinks and find your new favorites! We went back in the summer and there were several taps that said coming soon but there were still a lot of great options to choose from. We went on a Saturday around 5 pm and the place was hopping. FYI parking is difficult to find and you will have to walk but that's always the case downtown. The food was a little disappointing. We ordered the Mac and cheese (nothing special), tater tots (fine), and the pizza (I ordered Cacio e Pepe and it tasted like regular cheese but bland).
