Came for lunch recently and was delighted to see what they've done with the space since North Woods became Great Pines. The elegant yet rustic decor evokes the name, plus there's a gorgeous wood slab bar and great view of Fourth Lake. My boyfriend and I both ordered the Lean-To Burger and agreed that it was phenomenal. It was thick, juicy, and cooked just right with a flame-broiled taste. Add on gooey white cheddar, fresh romaine, and the addition of some crispy bacon...A+ The "Sidewinder Fries" ($2 extra) were a unique presentation - short, flat, spirals with a nice overall crispness. The Lean-To is cozy, inviting, classy, and has a well-balanced menu with interesting cocktails. Will return!

My fiance and I came here for a drink and bar snacks because nothing else in town was open at 7 PM on a Saturday (off season). The restaurant/ bar area itself is cute and very woodsy. They had a decent beer selection. We decided to order poutine and it was good, but nothing to write home about. Service at the bar was attentive, but it seemed like service at the table was not as attentive.

First time back in after 10 years. Layout and decoration is very nice. Friendly bartenders to talk to. Craft beer selection is okay. I think they had about 5. Didn't eat but the food menu looked delicious! I will definitely have to return to eat their food.

fish tacos and view

PSA!! Do not order the mac and cheese...... sauce tasted like canned cheese sauce and it was completely cold with no seasoning. You should not have $13 mac and cheese on your menu that the average joe can make better at their own house. Husband got the fish tacos, he said they were okay. The view and ambiance is nice. They are currently charging for food and adding a tip for wait staff prior to receiving your meal. The wait staff do not check on you at all... only run your order out to you... you have to pick up beverages at another station instead of it being brought to you.... keeping covid in mind I gave you 2 starts.

As a sucker for Irish pubs, the combination of food and live music had us sold. Walking in, the place has that well-worn, welcoming vibe you expect from a long-standing local favorite. Even on a busy Friday the 13th, the bartender/waitress greeted us with a huge smile and instantly made us feel at home--she deserves a raise! We grabbed a high-top, ordered drinks and food, and everything hit the mark--solid, satisfying pub fare. The live music was a treat too; the guitarist/singer was fantastic. Overall, our first visit was a home run. Friendly staff, good food, and great music--can't wait to come back!

One of the reasons we did come back was that the owner gave us a 50% off appetizer coupon being a new customer. After ordering our drinks, a big slide IPA for me and their version of a whiskey sour, we ordered our meal. We had asked for the small appetizer platter with mozzarella sticks, fried pickles, and onion rings. We also ordered an appetizer order of their bourbon sliders. What showed up was actually the large appetizer platter with everything on it and our bourbon sliders. I know we ordered the small platter but at least we only had to pay 50% of the large platter. Overall, it was not bad, just not good. The bourbon sliders were OK as well. Maybe it was us, maybe it was just that our bartender server seemed awfully overwhelmed? Whatever it was, it just wasn't the same as our first visit.

Any other time, if you are not a regular, this place might not be for you. I've been here several times with mixed experiences. The last time I was there was a Thursday in the summer of 2024. My husband, brother and I were excited to find seats at the bar and order dinner. The bartender was a short blonde woman and there was a male bar back. The bartender did not acknowledge us for over 15 minutes. We were actively looking at the menu on our phones and talking about what we wanted to try and attempted to make eye contact with her as she walked by us with no luck. She didn't even say "I will be right with you", literally no interaction. She was very friendly with everyone else around us seeming to know exactly what they were drinking and happy to get it for them. We left as we felt very unwelcome there and ended up having excellent service down the street at Lukin's.

We found this little gem and holy toledo did we we strike gold. First of all, the hostess was super nice and greeted us right away even though she was clearly busy and hustling. We chose to sit outside at a picnic table to soak up the beautiful weather. The outside is fun with brightly painted picnic tables and murals on the building. Our waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and offered great suggestions. She was great and we really enjoyed interacting with her. We started with rum punches which were made with freshly squeezed juice and they were out of this world. We shared the "everything" wings which were crispy and that sauce was delicious. We were tempted to lick the sauce off the plate. We refrained so we didn't get strange looks. I had the Kimchi Reuben which is made with house made kimchi I might add. My husband got the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. We both opted for Poutine Fries for our sides. Guys, this food was unique and spectacular. I'm just bummed it's 3 hours from home! But I'll definitely make an effort to be back.

I barely noticed the sign for this brewery passing by on the road. I quickly turned around,…read morebecause who doesn't like a local brewery? So glad I did! This was my first restaurant experience in the Adirondack mountains, and it was stellar. I ordered the Rocky Marciano pizza, which is basically like a calzone covered in cheese. I wasn't even planning on ordering pizza. I just wanted a good local beer, but the smell of fresh, yeasty dough immediately grabbed my attention in the parking lot. Matt, the bartender was an absolute doll. He let me try a few beers and was super attentive. After letting me sample a few beers, he asked me if I wanted to order food. The smell of pizza still calling me, I decided to get their famous Rocky Marciano, especially since anchovies were one of the topping options. You never see anchovies offered, and I just don't understand it. They are so amazing on pizza! Oh my goodness - it did not disappoint, whatsoever. It's all about the dough, baby, and their dough was next level! It reminds me of a place in Baton Rouge growing up, called Fleur De Lis. They were Sicilian owned and had the best pizza. Just something about the dough. That yeasty, almost beer-battered aroma wafting from the dough. The sauce was good, toppings were good. I think I got mushroom, spinach and green peppers with the anchovies. I feel like it was literally the best topping option I could've possibly ordered. Thanks, Matt, for the great service and suggesting some local entertainment for me to check out. Also, thank you to the owners, who work tirelessly in the kitchen to cook everything with love. You can definitely tell when things are made with love! I will definitely be back while I'm in town. This place deserves all the stars, so this is my contribution. Also, $14 for beers and a pizza is amazing!!!! I almost did a double-take! Well done, guys!
