We've been here three times. I think the first time was the best. The second and third time left us debating what was so good the first time. Will it be that good again? Are we willing to come back? I'll be generous and give them 3 stars. I will not be back, at least not for a while. Off the bat on our second and third visit. This is a bar. They happen to serve pizza. I despise ordering food when the person is clearly more interested in serving drinks. We ordered an Aperol spritz and two pizzas. I custom ordered my pizza because I don't want garlic, balsamic vinegar and oregano to ruin my Margerita pizza. The bartender taking our order was extremely distracted while taking our order. He was giving directions to another bartender on how to make a drink. He didn't pay attention to our order. I am not exaggerating that it took at least 45 minutes to get our two pizzas. They were served cold and mine had the balsamic I asked for it to not have. Ugh. I ate it. I was hungry and didn't want to wait any longer. I can say we were extremely disappointed. I would have given them 4 stars if the pizza had been as I ordered it, if it had been served hot and if I had felt like we were valued customers. Well, maybe next time. There is no good pizza in Vacaville. This place has so much potential. We love the vibe here and wish the service would be more consistent. read more

One again the service is horrible. Today went in for drinks at 4:00pm. Went to the register and was told order at register and they will bring to table. I asked to start tab, they took my CC. Ordered 2 spicy Bloody Marys & 2 tri tip salads. The drinks were not spicy and of average taste. We paid when we ordered. 1 salad was brought to us and about 20 minutes later I was asked how my food was even though I did not have food. My friend told me that the salad was not very good so i asked if I could just get a well done burger instead. Approximately 40 minutes later, I received a very rare burger with a "side salad" (no dressing- 3 croutons). I was very excited to try this place but it turned out to be a huge disappointment. As we were preparing to leave we were asked 2 different times if we were ready to pay even though we paid when we ordered. Lastly- the bartender/server was very kind but a group of his friends were there the whole time filming him sliding back and forth on the sliding ladder. Had my first experience during trivia night, the wood Firestone pizza was great and the cocktails. Cool vibe based on its namesake and they have a lot of events they host. Not typical but unique establishment that's a cool place to hang out with friends or celebrating events. Highly recommend to try it out! read more

Came to The Library in hopes of finding somewhere in Vacaville to go for a good drink and an appetizer. Sadly, The Library missed the mark. Great ambience, but that's really all it has going for it. We had ordered 2 drinks and a wood fired pizza. Drinks were mediocre, but had hope for the pizza. We had a few more drinks and continued waiting for our food. However, the pizza never came. My husband went to check-in to see the status of the pizza 40 minutes in to our wait. The bartender assured us it was coming. After an hour my husband went out to where the pizza was being made to inquire about the wait, and he said no order had come through. After that we cancelled the order and left. The place was packed (about 2 dozen people) with one girl doing everything. Mistakes are bound to happen when you're not appropriately staffed. We won't be back. read more

Very cute little Library made into a bar and had some seating areas with tables where you could play some board games or dominoes if you like. Sat at the bar ordered a Whisky sour the Whisky sour was one of the best I had. The flavors really balanced each other out. Service was kind of off but I will definitely go back to try the pizza. We've been here a few times now and each time I wonder why they don't up their game. It's a nice location, they have a wood burning pizza oven, and has nice vibes, but the food is really mediocre and the mixed drinks are about the same. Last night we went and ordered Mac n cheese which had no flavor and needed salt and I ordered a sangria (which was on their main menu.) The lady taking my order exclaimed that she didn't know they had sangria or what it looked like. When it came out after we inquired about it, having already had our food, it was cheap white wine with a couple fruit cocktail peaches in it. They were kind enough to exchange it for a regular glass of wine. Previous times we've been there, the food comes out slowly and not very flavorful or well cooked. We've had the pizzas, the mushrooms, and the ceasar salad. Of all things, the ceasar is the best. Anyway, seeing as Vacaville has such a lack of great food or places, we'll probably be back as it is nice to sit outside with the baby and have a drink. Just keep your drink order simple (beer, wine, standard cocktail) and keep your food expectations low. read more

The older building used to be a library so naturally they kept the vibe just about the same, only turned it into a classy bar. *fireplace *vintage/industrial style appeal *offers catering *specialty drinks that were delish (I recommend the lazy mule) Staff was friendly, took a while to make the drinks but they were strong and tasty. I came here recently with family and got the Italian pizza, the brick oven Mac and cheese, and several drinks. The food and drinks were delicious and I knew I would be coming back. Today, I got the Italian pizza to go, as it was so good last time, and got stuck waiting for 40 minutes for my pizza. Just one pizza, nothing else. When I got fed up and decided to check on my pizza, I saw an Italian pizza sitting on the pizza pan on the counter. It wasn't just pulled out of the oven, just sitting on the counter. I asked the lady if that was my pizza and she sheepishly said yes. She claimed part of the wait was because the first pizza had a hole in it, but she never informed me of that until I came up to ask about why my pizza wasn't ready. Unbelievable. It was already glazed and cut. Just sitting there uncovered and not in the to go box. Couldn't even pack it and tell me it was ready until I came up to ask for it. It's not nearly as good as last time because it's mildly warm instead of piping hot like it should have been. The first visit was a 5-star experience. I finally went out and grabbed a drink at the library despite what I hear around town. Unfortunately my experience was the same. Cocktails are ok and way over priced for what's served. The service is very slow given the small amount of people that were there. Limited amount of seating and abrasive staff. The ambiance of the place is great and has a ton of potential though. I hope the owners dig deeper and turn this place into something special for downtown Vacaville. read more

Really cool venue opening up in an old historic spot on Main Street in downtown Vacaville. Decor is cute with all the old books and I especially like that they put their drink menu in the middle of an old book as well. My issue is with the ridiculous charge on the tonic water. I ordered a shot of the Fidencio Classico Joven Mezcal that is listed as eight dollars. I go in to ring in my drink and it is listed as $15, the same price as the cocktails. So eight dollars for the shot and seven dollars for the tonic water and ice? I guess I should've ordered one of the premade cocktails because this would've been more worth it. The mezcal was good, but I'm pretty disappointed overall with the lack of price transparency. read more

Such a massive miss. The space is great. The crowd is pleasant. The music is fun - too loud, but not to the point of having to leave. The female sax player was awesome. But the food and drink? YIKES. Let's start with the food prices: cheap, but you get what you pay for. The steaks are supermarket quality or less. Rawhide quality, but at least seasoned well. The service? HORRIBLE. Worst I've experienced in decades. Going into a place like this - and ordering what you want on an iPad - and giving your credit card to the guy behind the counter - all bad (and dangerous). Then waiting twenty minutes for your drinks....WHAT? I kept asking myself "WHAT IS THIS PLACE????" They don't seem to know. When the food arrived, it was like this: one of us ordered a pizza, and it was delivered to him. 10 minutes later the baked brie was delivered. 10 minutes after that the first steak (medallions) was delivered - and then 10 minutes after that the last NY Steak (which, as it turns out, was pretty much exactly the same as the medallions except in presentation. Putting in your order and then being directed to "take a number and place it prominently on your table so the "server" can find you" made me feel like I was in fast food restaurant (but trust me, there's nothing fast about this place. NOTHING). It pains me, because we need more non-chain restaurants in Vacaville, but this place needs to go away and give the space to somebody who's serious about delivering a nice dining and beverage experience - because this aint that. read more
