This cafe is inside of a business building, so when searching it on the map it may seem a little odd. It is open to the public and when coming in let security know you're here for the food. I look forward to eating here everytime I'm in Vacaville. They are open for breakfast and lunch. They have different specials and then weekly staples as well. The food is made fresh and certain foods are made in small quantities so they can be sold out. They also have fruit infused water with the perfect ice for their customers. The chefs have been there for years and take pride in their work, it shows. Every meal I have had is delicious and reasonably priced. Dont leave without getting a cookie, they are truly delicious!

Maybe I shouldn't post this review because then everyone and their mom will start coming here! This place serves breakfast and lunch.. came here for breakfast wanting a croissant with eggs bacon and cheese! Super duper happy right now! My daughter got a breakfast burrito and was equally happy! Prices are beyond fair too! We'll def be coming back here to this cute, clean, and delicious cafe that not many seem to know about.

There's nothing unique or special about this place, it's reminiscent of a hospital cafe.

Food: I ordered The Cowboy which consisted of eggs, waffle, and chicken fried steak. Everything was hot including the waffle. So nice! The waffle was a slight bit crunchy on top but really soft otherwise and it was delicious! The chicken fried steak was very tender and the gravy wasn't bad but it could have used a bit more salt. The coffee was a bit mild for my liking. Service: When I walked in there was no signage so I stood for a few minutes without acknowledgement. Finally a young man with light brown hair approached and looked at me but walked right past. When he passed again I asked if I was supposed to seat myself? He looked off and muttered "yeah it's going to be a few minutes" then he walked off. It didn't answer my question so I continued to stand until another server invited me to sit at a vacant table. The same young man was observed tossing the food and bussing the table of a nearby customer who had gone to the restroom. His server came to the rescue however by making him a plate to go. My actual server Mary was nice and tended to my needs but it was a bit of a wait between being seated, getting drinks, and placing the order. Overall its a strong 4 rating that could have been a 5 with a little more attentiveness from staff. Definitely recommend though!

The service was welcoming and kind, and I loved the windows and wood accents inside which made for a nice relaxing atmosphere - it was a beautiful day outside so I sat at one of the many small foldable chairs/tables outside. The offer adorable plates for pastries to enjoy there. I got a lemon verbena pastry, and a fig leaf latte. I like that their offerings are a bit unique, and the pastry was delicate, tasty, though a little less crisp that I'd like - perhaps because it was later in the day? The fig leaf latte was also tasty - though I couldnt really taste a big difference between the fig leaf syrup and vanilla - it seemed to be missing a little something to really bring out the fig leaf flavor. Overall, a cute little cafe to grab a pastry and coffee at, and I'd like to come back earlier in the day to try some of the other pastries! A little pricier than some of the other pastries in the area, but they're definitely a little more elevated here :)

We were dining in the area and I was looking for a baguette to go along with some charcuterie we picked up earlier in the area. We had just eaten so this particular visit was really to come in and get some bread (although I really want to come back to try their pastries and other wonderful looking creations). The service is friendly and they try to help you as soon as you are ready to order. It was also later in the day so it seemed like the options, at least on display, were limited. But I didn't take too much time looking because we already knew what we wanted. There is also a variety of coffee or caffeinated as well as refreshing beverages available to order and it looks like they have a beer/ wine license here in case you wanted to dine in. Just a really great place that left a great impression and I will definitely be hitting this place up the next time I'm in the area.

I saw this cafe pop-up in several IG posts, so I knew I had to check it out. It doesn't have a Michelin star, but is run by a Michelin team --- so to me, tomato, toMAHto. I got 3 items, all exquisite: 1. Honeycomb Iced Latte - This drink is exactly what you would expect; a proper iced latte topped with a substantial amount of sugary honeycomb. A few swirls later, and my entire drink was sweetened just right. There's nothing like the taste of sugary honeycomb. 2. Everything Knot - This was my highlight of the visit. I am from NJ, so I'm a bit of a Bagel snob, and yet, connoisseur. The way this Knot was layered and crafted made all right in the world. It was topped with fried scallions, and stuffed with green onion cream cheese. The worked said it must've been meant for me...it was the last one of the day! 3) Pain au Chocolat - Visually stunning. The layers around the pastry make it crackly and so decadent. The downside? The actual chocolate! It was a skinny line of chocolate in my pastry, barely non-existent. Loved the pastry, the "au chocolat" part? Needs work. All in all, I was extremely pleased by Under-Study! I love trying "novel items", and I heard they have a Lobster Corn Dog?? Guess that will have to wait til' next time!

There's a counter area where you can order coffee, pastries, breakfast items, or food to-go, while the left side has a hostess stand if you'd prefer full table service inside or on the patio. The brunch menu was a bit limited, and I ended up ordering the croissant sandwich. The croissant itself was soft and fresh, but overall the sandwich left me wanting a little more flavor. It was on the smaller side, didn't have much bacon, and even with the preserved tomato aioli it felt a bit underwhelming. The breakfast potatoes also weren't really my favorite. They were small whole potatoes with the skins on and heavily seasoned with cayenne pepper. Personally, I would've liked another side option such as fresh fruit. That said, the staff was very friendly and welcoming throughout the visit. For two croissant sandwiches, two iced teas, and a side of fries, the total came to around $70 with tip, which felt a little pricey for the overall experience. The property itself is beautiful. It looks like they host live music and events in the outdoor quad area, and I noticed they also offer wood-fired pizza after 11 AM, which honestly sounds worth coming back to try. Overall, I have mixed feelings as the atmosphere and service were great, but the food didn't quite live up to expectations for me personally.

The beet salad was also delicious, and major appreciation to the kitchen for thoughtfully splitting it into four equal plates for sharing. Small touch, big hospitality points. The lemon ricotta pancake was the one slight miss for me. The powdered sugar ended up being the main character, overpowering some of the balance and richness I was hoping for. The fish tacos, however, completely redeemed things. Flavorful, fresh, and made even better by our incredibly thoughtful waitress, who had the kitchen prepare four tacos for sharing instead of the usual three. Those little gestures really elevate the experience. But the true standout of the meal? The Back Door Berry Bramble. Pure bliss in a glass.
