As he moved to a brand new area and neighborhood, we were looking for a place that included everything that everybody needed. That is an outside patio for the pets, a full bar for my partner, and a place away from everybody. Here comes Rockville kitchen and bar. It's a nice scenic drive to the restaurant, once you're there there's parking to the side of it. Coming up to the restaurant there's a couple tables on the side of the restaurant and more on the patio space. We sat outside and enjoyed the weather and was able to look over at the winery across the street. The service was OK, the food was OK, and that's pretty much I can say is OK. My partner ordered the sausage and gravy and my friend ordered the hamburger while I order their sandwich. The food comes out pretty small size but if you're not hungry, it'll satisfy you. We will probably be back into that area because there's a few other restaurants and a winery that she can do tasting at across the street. If we decide to go back to this place, we will only be doing that because they are pet friendly. read more

Very nice restaurant, the service was ok, the waiter (kid) played a lot on his phone and ignored people. I ordered a hamburger and it comes with fries. The fries were the only good thing about the meal. My hamburger was burnt to a crisp!! I couldn't even cut it with my knife. And let's talk about utensils, seriously? You have cheap utensils from Smart and Final. They are made of tin, so bendy and cheap. If your going to sell burnt hamburgers for $19.00 at least have nice utensils. But my biggest complaint was the burger. For someone who claims to be a chef, no bueno! read more

Unfortunately it did not live up to expectations based on reading other reviews. Our server was friendly and greeted us as we entered. He wiped our table down for us upon request as it was still dirty and very sticky. Our food took 40 minutes to arrive at our table after we ordered. They were not overly busy. The portion sizes were large but the food was not anything special. The country potatoes were very good but the hash browns weren't cooked through and our toast was not toasted. Our omelets and scrambles were large but only okay. The French Toast was burned. We noticed the ketchup had a film and mold in the cap. We let our server know only to watch it be returned with the other ketchup bottles and not thrown out. Overall the seating area (windows, walls, visible spiders and webs etc.) is in need of a very deep cleaning which worries one of the kitchen cleanliness. We were all in agreement that we were very disappointed and would not be returning. Perhaps it was an off day for them but it was off enough for us not to give it another try. read more

I visited about 3 years ago. I was seated outside and immediately forgotten. We actually ordered food that never came and left. Decided to try it again today. Nothing much changed in 3 years. Sat outside and was immediately forgotten. We saw a table that was seated in side at least 5 minutes after us get coffee and water, while we hadn't even been acknowledged. I walked inside to see if we were forgotten. I was greeted with, "How many in your party?". Indeed, we were forgotten. The waitress didn't even remember that she had previously greeted us. After I reminded her that we were outside our service picked up a bit. Food was meh... Eggs tasted old. I wouldn't go back ever. Great service and good food. The meals are big! Fish and chips - good quality fish, good flavor crust, great fries. Asian salad very good! Beet salad equally good. Only drawback is the noise level inside. We arrived around 1 when the lunch group was there, and even though the room wasn't full, the noise level was high. Came for Sunday brunch during the winter and had a nice dining experience. It's always good to support small, family-owned restaurants like Rockville Kitchen & Bar so check them out! You can choose from indoor or outdoor seating. Outdoor seating has a nice view out front - very serene, aside from the cars passing by. Haha. It is nice sitting outside. Food was good as to be expected, though nothing really stood out for me besides it being a good, quiet place to eat. I had the Eggs Benedict which had the perfect saltiness - it was good! Husband had a Denver Omelette which is also enjoyed. Service was good. Owner was friendly. We have eaten here a few times. The food quality really disappoints us! For example, today the bacon has no flavor. The service is very dry. The ketchup bottle was black all the around the lid. As we sit here, we are watching an amazing number of people come in, sit down, wait a few minutes, and then leave. They didn't even give the customers eye contact, or say "we will be right with you". The table always feels dirty and sticky. After paying way over $100 for a really lousy breakfast, no one said "bye" or "have a nice day" . I am a local and love to go here for breakfast. I have to admit I had never had lunch here until yesterday. My friend and I both ordered burgers and his son a hot dog. All three with fries. I went here because my original destination (Buzz Coffee)was closed for a special event. The food was good, just didn't blow me away, and the service was ok. It was a bit of a wait to order and receive my food but I wasn't in a huge hurry either. I guess my only turn off was the young cook with long hair had no hat or hairnet on, just tied back with a rubber band. Had a habit of touching his hair and didn't appear to was his hands and no gloves on. It was a bit pricey for what I got but being a chef I understand the struggle. I like the surrounding area being off the beaten path of every day chaos. And the options of wineries, produce stores and I definitely want to try some of the other restaurants around. However, promise me you'll fix the sanitation issues with the hair and I'll be back again. read more

We used to always go here with the old ownership. Decided to give the new owners a shot. So very disappointed and to me overpriced. My French toast was beyond burnt and they tried to slather so much of their topping on it in hopes I wouldn't notice. That first bite was beyond horribly bitter. My son's CHICKEN sandwich didn't even have chicken in it and the potato salad tasted like they poured a box of salt in it, it wasn't edible. I tried to scrape off the burnt layer with my knife but it didn't work. We didn't even finish our food, nor did the waiter come out to see how everything turned out after it was placed on our table and we took a bite. We couldn't even tell them/let them be aware because of how bad the service was. Won't go back and wasted 50 bucks on food I could've made better at home read more

Very appealing little place with tables inside and outside, warm and colorful. Our young server was super friendly and helpful! She asked if I wanted the yolks in my Eggs Benedict "easy, medium or hard", something I've never been asked for that dish. The dish was fine with really good hollandaise sauce and BOMB hash browns, but unfortunately the yolks in my eggs were cooked hard. My wife's bacon and eggs were good, but included deep fried country potatoes which she doesn't particularly care for. I eat here about once a month, because it's halfway between some friends that live in Davis in my location in Alameda. There is indoor and outdoor seating and my dog was able to sit outdoors no problem. The service is very, very good here. And the food is also very good. There's a good crowd, but it's never so crowded that we have to leave, since we're sitting and talking for a long time. When you sit outside, you are next to a pretty busy road but it's not a huge problem. Also, for some reason they don't have limes, but everything else is spectacular. read more

In a world of chain food giants it's nice to go to a neighborhood restaurant for a change. Rockville Kitchen and Bar is that neighborhood place filled with locals. The place is clean and cozy. The service is friendly and the chef/owner was checking on things. Here were a few of my favorite things: Horchata French Toast: Delicious if you love the drink. The secret to the sweet cinnamon flavor was the whip cream. No syrup required. Corned Beef Hash: this is a my favorite go to protein for breakfast. And it is yummy here. I also like the way they made sure it was toasted brown like their hash browns. I like the crunch! Burger with Blue Cheese: the burger was juicy and not over cooked. The blue cheese shined and elevated the burger. It was paired with crispy garlicky fries. The place also has a a fee local beer taps and wines. I did not sample but will check this place for dinner some time to see if it is as good for dinner as breakfast. We will be back! read more

Friendly and welcoming staff. I ordered the chicken fried steak with hash browns and scrambled eggs. The kids had the egg, bacon and toast breakfast, a pancake with fruit plate, and we shared a French toast order. The French toast is really good. It comes with cinnamon butter / whipped cream on the side, along with a side of maple syrup. One of the best French Toasts I've had. Even the standard toast that comes with the breakfast plates is really good - thick slices, almost like Texas toast, perfectly toasted and buttered. The chicken fried steak with hash browns and eggs was good and the gravy was flavorful. The kids enjoyed their breakfast choices. Great place to have a relaxed, tasty breakfast/brunch. I normally don't like to write bad reviews, but I feel this one is necessary for the attention of the management and owners. Unfortunately, we didn't even get to try the food because the service was so terrible. The place wasn't even that busy for a Sunday brunch, yet we waited far too long without anyone acknowledging us. When we finally did get someone's attention, they were dismissive. While I was waiting in line for the restroom, I could hear someone in the kitchen shouting that food had been sitting on the hot plate for far too long and there wasn't even space to put more. That really said a lot about what was happening behind the scenes. It completely ruined the experience, and we ended up leaving hungry and disappointed. First impressions matter, and sadly, this one was enough to make sure we won't be coming back. read more

I stumbled upon this place one day and decided to order to go. I ordered an omelette to go. The portion size was good and the portion size was large. I came back a few weeks later and we ate at the restaurant. This time eggs benedict. I will say the potatoes were a little overdone, but still good, although I am not one to ever turn down potatoes. This is such a cute little local spot. The second time I came it was a saturday. There was a steady amount of people coming, but wasn't too busy that we had to wait a long time for a table. I was excited to try out this new place, but I have been going here before when it was still Valley Cafe. I decided to give it a try, for breakfast. We were seated at the bar counter and our server took a while to get our order. The coffee was served and our server said our order will come shortly. We patiently waited, not knowing how time passed, we realized everyone in the bar counter and people seated at their tables had all their orders come in. We came in before the rest of the customers but everyone else got their orders, so I went to ask our server to follow up on our order and why we still have not got ours, since we have been patiently waiting for almost 1 hour. Our server said oh let me check, then she said "I don't have your order in the system, can I get your order again." I told her that you have taken our order already and you even wrote it down, you just served our coffee and never bothered to check back on us, and never came to re-fill our coffee at least. How can she miss our order and not notice us when we were literally seated at the bar counter right in front of her while she's preparing everyone else's order. She said sorry I didn't realize. I think she is just completely being selective or racist and what's worst she's Asian like us which makes it worst being racist towards her own race. Then she said "do you still want me to place the order", so I said of course we've waited so long hopefully we won't wait that long again, she said oh not at all, I will have them rush yours. Then our order came and I was hoping that it will be great food, despite the long wait. The greek omelette was overcooked, the hash browns were burnt, overall the food was a disappointment. This restaurant seems under staff, service is very slow and food definitely not to my expectations. (Didn't want the food to get cold) No server in sight. 3 or 4 tables occupied we were the only ones waiting for our order. It's a shame because the food is good but a total frustration being ignored. The cook needs a bell to ring or something to let servers know the order is ready. Also, the owners and servers need to have some common sense. The service & quality of their food has gone down since the new ownership. I came here for brunch with my siblings & our dogs. Since we had dogs, we had to sit outside on their patio. I don't recommend sitting outside. For some reason, service is WAY slower if you sit outside. We felt neglected by our server. We went on a week day when they weren't even busy, no lines, not all tables filled. She took forever to take our order. & then we waited literally more than 45 minutes for BREAKFAST food. It should NOT take that long to make pancakes & french toast. The people inside got served faster than we did even though we arrived first. After my wife and I went to Larry's Produce we wanted to get breakfast. Rockville was not too far from where we were. Nice little spot, outside sitting, and lots of parking. Comes with 2 eggs Andy style, hashdrowns or country potatoes and choice of toast. Wife got Avocado Omelette( Turkey, avocado, onions, salsa and cheddar) she added mushrooms to it. Comes with hashdrowns or country potatoes and choices of toast. Food was very good. At first the gravy didn't look to appealing. I have to taste it and see if it has some flavor. It had a bunch of sausage chunks in it. Tasted better then it looked. The chicken fried steak wasn't as crispy as I wanted it, but it was still flavorful.
