We came here looking for a good breakfast and found a fair one. We arrived here to the place deserted just after the opening time. We ordered our food and more people came in though the place didn't fill up more than a few booths. The bacon, eggs, and toast were all good, but the pancakes were definitely lacking in our opinion. The service was fine, not exemplary, but didn't fail to show up or be timely. The location is quiet and plays classical music. If you're staying in a hotel and would prefer a non-complimentary breakfast meal you could do worse. read more

We visited around 10:30 a.m. today, and it wasn't busy. We waited about five minutes before anyone acknowledged us at the door because there wasn't a hostess in sight. While we were waiting, another family arrived after us and stood there for about 15 minutes without anyone greeting them or even saying, "We'll be right with you." Once we were seated, we were placed in a corner while most other guests were seated out on the main dining floor. It honestly felt like we were forgotten about. Our waitress rarely came back to our table. We were seated at a table with no napkins in the dispenser, so we had to ask for those, and no straws were brought with our drinks. It was difficult to even get our waitress's attention. If you're staying at the hotel and planning to use the breakfast coupon, be aware that only four menu items qualify, and none of them are particularly appealing or a good value. I ordered a Diet Pepsi but was served Dr Pepper instead. I assumed it was an honest mistake the first time, but my refill was also Dr Pepper. When I finally mentioned it, I was told that their "Diet Coke" was Dr Pepper, which didn't make any sense since Dr Pepper and Diet Coke are completely different soft drinks. To top it off, our bill was over $60 for food that was average at best. Overall, the service and value just weren't there. Nice atmosphere, our waitress was decent, but the other waitress working this morning was as rude as can be to her table and it was super obvious. A table next to us asked for straws and she said "Yes when I get to it, I have some other things to do over here" in the most rude tone. Immediately after that, she began cleaning up a table nearby and starts counting the cash and in a super loud voice, she tells the other waitress across the room "There bill was x amount and they only gave me $8, that's not even 10 percent." Counting money and complaining about tips literally right in front of everyone eating. Totally unprofessional, and just my opinion, but why does the amount of money spent on a meal determine the tip price? So, a waitress in a po-dunk town at a small bar should get a small tip because their food is much cheaper than a different restaurant? Even at the same restaurant for example, someone who orders a steak should be giving the waitress more than a guy who orders a wrap? Exactly the same amount of work performed by the waitress to write down and bring the order of a steak vs a wrap. Totally ridiculous. I will say the bill she was complaining about was over $100 for a family of four to get breakfast and she complains about her tip. Maybe this is a working class family who didn't realize it's literally $20 for 3 small pancakes with no side of eggs or meat. Extremely overpriced for what you got. I feel bad for families trying to have a nice meal and are just trying to get by. Everything is so expensive now-days and others seem to not understand this. Arrived at Lighthouse restaurant and it started out ok. Placed an order for Ice Tea Milk, Smasher omelet and biscuits and gravy. My milk was $4.49 and was a little over 1/2 cup. Food was good. Smaller portions but good. Upon paying waitress told us we could not use coupon from hotel. No where does it say you have to order same breakfast. Only explained afterwards. Cost was $60. The "perfect breakfast" in the sign is a complete scam. When we walked in, there was no waitress in sight. When we got seated, the menus were kind of dirty, our drinks came with no straws, and when our meals finally came (after like 40 minutes), my pancakes came with no syrup. It was hard enough to get the waitress' attention, and then when the waitress finally noticed, she said she would be right back. she never came back. Walked across the street from the Comfort Inn for breakfast. Immediately after sitting down, I had to clean the cobwebs from the window with a napkin after sitting down. My wife and I paid $60 for two meals!! One consisted only of one piece of toast, two pieces of bacon, two overcooked eggs, home fries, and two sausages. The other was three pancakes and two sausages. We were extremely disappointed considering they only offered four menu items at that promotional priced. AND they didn't explain that up front. We talked to the manager Ari, she was not willing to work with us and honor the coupons, said she was not aware of the issue and when we looked at other reviews after the fact it was apparent this is a known issue and the service was also poor on many reviews. The manager did discount our bill 5% ($2.00) however down at the end of the bill there was a managers admin fee of $1.65 so really did not do anything. This was very frustrating we will NOT be back. Way too many rules. Six of us had coupons from our hotel and/or 10 percent coupons. Had to sit at separate tables to use more than one coupon. We sat together and 4 ordered menu items that said if you buy one, second is free. Still could only get one. And if you got that, our 10 percent coupons couldn't be used. So for six of us who thought we were getting a deal, we got one free bagel (restaurant chose which bogo to honor) off our $110 breakfast bill. We weren't allowed separate checks, so we each pulled out cash for our portions but they don't take cash. Wow!! So one of us had to charge $100+ and collect cash from the rest. And they charged a credit card fee, we think. Talked to manager about all the rules and got our favorite response, "there is NOTHING we can do." We will never go back but it's a resort so they don't care. If this restaurant was in a non-resort area, they'd be out of biz in a year. Food was average at best -- resort prices. read more

My friend got the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were hard as a rock and the gravy had barely any sausage. She could barely cut the biscuits to eat them. I had the french toast. It was over drenched and under baked. The flavor of it was good but the bread was soggy from it being under cooked. Would definitely not recommend going here even with the coupon. Not worth it. Nothing was warm except for the eggs. The sausage links were cold. Service was meh and restrooms were filthy at 8:30 am. Paper towel dispenser broken so a few rolls of paper towels on the counter. One soap dispenser was broken and the other one is placed so high that when your push it all the soap comes flying out at you! Broken toilet paper dispensers, big roll of toilet paper on the floor... sheesh! Someone hear needs to care more about these things. Will never come back to this place again. read more

I had no expectation, other than to get a relatively tasty breakfast, which is what I got after quite a wait. The Lighthouse Restaurant, at the time of this writing, is only open until 2:00 p.m., and they only serve breakfast. Expect to wait in line to be seated, despite the place having a plethora of open tables. The servers are also the hosts. Once seated, coffee will arrive quickly. Sip it slowly; it'll be a while before you get another round. The menu is large, but be sure to pay attention to the starred items - those are what you'll get with the BOGO deal. We ordered a standard breakfast: two eggs, choice of meat, toast, and hash browns. It took about 45 minutes to get our food on a Tuesday morning. Our server was doing the best she could, and she did refill my coffee three times. We were told the restaurant had only two cooks. The food was mediocre, but it was hot when it arrived. I can't recommend the Lighthouse. The bacon we received at breakfast smelled spoiled and tasted terrible. When we reported this to the manager he didn't react in a way I expected. Instead of being horrified he told us it must be good because it was just delivered. They offered us a replacement meal but we had lost our appetite's. The manager just didn't seem to care. Just because a product was just delivered doesn't mean it's good. The kitchen staff needs to be more aware of the products they are using to prepare meals. read more

Looking for a quick lunch before moving on to St. Ignace and settled on The Lighthouse Restaurant. We were a party of four adults and four kids. It was pretty clean looking with some tell tale signs of aging in the form of ceiling tile damage and chipped tables. Our waitress came and went at her own discretion, which would be understandable if there were more patrons, but there wasn't. There were vegans in our group and the customizable pizzas were and cauliflower bites were enough for them. I ordered the the French dip and waffle fries. The au jus was pretty good but I found the actual sandwich a bit lacking in the amount and flavor of the meat. It seemed to run a little dry as well. The waffle fries were delicious, but aren't all waffle fries? The winner of the meal was the cheese bread. The price was cheap, so I expected the food to match. Luckily this wasn't the case.
