It has now been nearly a full year since I purchased two adult tickets for the Light Fest Lantern Festival, originally scheduled for July 2024. At the time of purchase, I also paid for the offered insurance, which clearly stated that a full refund would be provided if cancellation was necessary. However, my experience could not have been further from what was promised. The festival itself was canceled due to a fire ban -- understandable given safety concerns -- but it was then rescheduled for October 2024. Unfortunately, I was going to be out of town during the new date, and I immediately took all the necessary steps to cancel my tickets. I canceled through their website and sent multiple emails as directed. Each time, I received automated responses claiming that someone would reach out to me to process my refund. That outreach never happened. Despite my repeated attempts -- over an entire year -- to obtain the refund I was owed, I have still not received a single dollar of the $150 I paid. Instead, I was continually given empty promises and automated emails. The so-called "insurance" I paid for turned out to be entirely fraudulent. It exists purely to make customers think they are protected when in reality, Light Fest seems to have no intention of honoring it. This operation is nothing short of a scam. If the event is canceled or rescheduled for any reason, do not expect to get your money back, no matter what the insurance policy claims. Light Fest took my money and ignored my refund requests for over a year. In conclusion: Avoid Light Fest at all costs. Their customer service is nonexistent, their insurance is a scam, and their business practices are deeply dishonest. Save yourself the time, frustration, and financial loss. Me and my boyfriend just went to the Lights Fest 10/12 in Grantsville Utah. This was by the Lights Fest, not the Night Lights Event!!! To start, parking was $30. The tickets were already $47 so what the hell?? At the Night Lights, you don't pay for parking (at least we didn't). Okay now to the fun stuff! I know it's cold, it's October, but omg, it was freezing. They only had some tiki torches towards the front and that was it. At the Night Lights, they had heating lamps scattered through the whole area. We get there and I already knew off the bat that the security wasn't good because they didn't check in any bags that I saw. At the Night Lights, they made us shake our blankets and checked our bags. With everything going on in the world, a shooting could've easily taken place. We sit down and realize that there's only 5 FOOD TRUCKS.. 5.. for hundreds of people.. a churro one, an argentinian one, Mexican food, Juice, and American food (tenders, fries, etc.) We waited in line for a little over an hour.. for 3 tenders & a little bit of fries.. $26 EACH?? It said on the menu "pick your own side" so we did just that but when we got the receipt, they upcharged you for some of the sides (we got garlic fries and it was $2 more). At the Night Lights, there was countless food trucks, i'm going to estimate around 20. We spent about $60 for churros, burger and fries, plus drinks. I understand that the event coordinators aren't responsible for that but still. Very overpriced food. Side note, the music was damn horribleee!! At the Night Lights, the music was great. it was upbeat and different genres. At this one, it was just plain BAD. Anyways, as soon as we sit down, they're already talking about lighting the lanterns, barely any time to eat, decorate our lanterns, etc. When everybody was just about to light the lanterns, they say over the speakers to go buy lighters at the merchandise table.. ARE YOU SERIOUS?? That's so damn frustrating. When they said it was time to start lighting your lanterns, half of the people couldn't because they had no lighters.. At the Night Lights, they gave you a lighter, prayer flags, and a pen in the lantern kit. You also get a cute Golden Ticket for memories and a cute wrist band for each person. Luckily, me and my boyfriend brought a lighter and there were surrounding people that were asking us to use ours which we had no problem sharing but it's so sad that all of these people got scammed.. couldn't even light their lantern. Coming out of the parking lot to our car, there were no directions on how to get out. We went the wrong way TWICE and there were maybe 40 cars following us because they didn't know either. The coordination was horrible. At the Night Lights, they had people directing traffic as the cars came in and went out. This event was just plain bad. If you ever want to go to a lantern festival, I 110% recommend the Night Lights Event. You can also buy a s'mores kit and cute blankets at the Night Lights!! read more

An amazing experience held at the Talladega, AL race track!!! I had the opportunity to attend the Lights Festival in Talladega approx. 1.5hrs from Atlanta, GA. This was the closet location to SC, hopefully they will bring this event oneday to the Palmettos! The event cancelled twice due to weather, so finally...I got to the event about 7pm, the event started at 4pm, I didn't wanna sit in a field for hrs, so we showed up just in time. We checked in, received bands, lantern, instructions, a black marker to decorate the lantern. They did have a lot of goodies you can purchase for the evening. The parking was organized when we arrived, leaving was another story, we went the opposite of the traffic to avoid the traffic drama, no issues. I brought 2 chairs, bug spray, and some snacks. They did have some food trucks, the lines were super long, so be prepared. I did buy some kettle popcorn from one of the vendors. The team lit the oil lanterns around 8p just before dark, lots of music playing, people dancing having a god time. The host for the evening was lively and kept kept the crowd entertained. Approx 8:30 the host gave directions and lit 1 lantern so we could see the direction of the wind. Once we got the Ok, its was dark enough for everyone to start lighting and releasing the lanterns! Such a magical night and a lot of fun for all. Yes, I would attend again if they came closer to Columbia, SC! The price is reasonable for all, $20- 25 per lantern. They rescheduled the weekend due to rain which is understandable. However, the website promised a musical lineup of local artists and states that would begin shortly after the doors open at 5 pm. We were still sitting there at 7:30 pm with no live music. The website says there are food trucks but there was only one that actually offered meal type food. The others were coffee, slashes, popcorn, etc. We attempted to get food three times, giving up each time when we waited for over 45 minutes and didn't even make it a quarter of the way up the line. So a 2.5 hour wait for live music that didn't happen and no food options. I gave it a 2 star instead of 1 because the lanterns were cool. ​ read more

What an beautiful night it turned out to be. I'm not going to lie I originally heard about Rise and was disappointed in their prices and The Light Fest popped up on one of my news feeds. I looked into it, and for the price (Reasonable) I booked it over Rise! I could not of had a better time! And will for-sure go next year! (Maybe even to another state they have beside Nevada/Arizona)! The drive from Vegas was pretty easy.. Parking was quick, we arrived about 5:30 (doors open @3:30). Small little line to get your lanterns and we were right in. They didn't really check to see if you purchased tickets though. (Received 1 lantern (can purchase more, which you should!!! A black pen, light and sticker) A down fall of the event is that it wasn't as large as I had imagined, so when we got there it was pretty packed and most people had kinda surrounded each tiki torch as their own that was stationed all over the dirt field. So tip: Get there 3:30 so you get better spacing. (TIP: Arizona time is an hour ahead of VEGAS, so fact that hour in to arriving!) However we did enjoy meeting people next to use and all taking pictures of each other. Lots of food trucks (some lines were alittle longer than I had patience for), some good merchandise, and I think the blow up sitting chairs for sale were a hit (if you brought your own they blew them up for free). Recommendations are for The Light Fest to some how make the lantern release last longer. Between taking photos and taking turns with neighbors lighting each lantern I wanted MORE and MORE. I'm a photo freak and remember to also enjoy your time instead of all the photos. Another thing I wish they did a better job of was managing the parking lot exits. It was a free for all leaving with no one giving directions, soo either sit and hangout until everyone clears the lot or leave as soon as the lanterns are released. read more

WHAT AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!!!!!! My boyfriend and I went to the one in San Diego back in April and had a blast. We got there right as the gates opened and enjoyed a relaxing day of hanging out, listening to music, and eventually witnessing one of the most magical things ever. Although the event was cancelled on the scheduled day of Saturday, we understood that there were strict conditions and decided to spend the day in SD and drove down to Imperial on Sunday. I had gone to the lights festival in Northern California and it was pure magical. If I could relive it again and again, I would without a doubt!. It's something everyone has to experience once in their life, as for myself, it was such an emotional experience, bc on my lantern, I wrote to my sister who had passed 3 years ago from cancer and when I let it go into the sky, it just felt so relieving in a way, like she was there with me. I loved it, and would absolutely 100 percent recommend to people and go myself again!! Tips:(what to expect and what to bring) -bring lawn chairs or a mat to sit on the ground -blankets, get cold at night depending what season it is -an empty stomach bc they have yummy food trucks -your own colorful markers to write on the lanterns with(something that I told myself to do but totally forgot) -camera to capture the breathtaking experience! -someone special(I almost didn't have anyone to take wit for this experience and thought about bringing just a random friend, and didn't realize how much an almost romantic feel it has to it) -this would honestly be a perfect date idea(hint:marriage purposal) -come early if you want good seats up front near the stage. -and the wait to get out is just crazy, everyone leaving at the same time that's why(not a tip, just letting you know) TIPS:(actual lighting the lantern part) -if you can have two people holding the lantern while you light it on fire would be a bit easier. -when the lantern is lit, WAIT FOR AT LEAST 30 SECONDS that way the air can be capture into the lantern and fly up(I've seen people who lit it on fire and let go immediately resulting the lantern to fall back and almost catching on fire) -please be patient as everyone is waiting their turn to light their lantern and waiting to let it go -also respect people when doing so and not getting into their shot as they're trying to capture the moment(too many people getting into our videos/pictures) -last but not least, enjoy and have the best time of your life! read more

I attended the lights fest here in Arizona in 2016, it was a great time. My group of friends decided to attend again when it was announced that the event would be coming back in 2017, so I ordered tickets (totaling $273.30) on October 8th, and my group of friends made plans for our newest tradition. The event was postponed by the organizer, no problem we can change our plans, and so we kept the tickets. It was postponed again, and now we cannot attend due to other commitments and scheduling conflicts, so I requested a refund the first week of April 2018 (they have had my money for 6 months at this point). I have e-mailed and had generic responses of "Your request (######) has been received and is being reviewed by our support staff" since April. Now it is July 10th, and still no resolution? I wish someone could explain how a charge to my credit card can take place immediately but a refund can take months, it makes no sense to me. What started out as an attempt to create a new tradition for myself and my friends has developed into a cautionary tale of doing business with this particular organization. The event was postponed on more than one occasion, and that is why we could not attend. You would think integrity would play a roll in their business practices. read more

It's been on my bucket list to do this, and I was finally able to do this at the Munford, AL location this past Saturday. I had to drive 2.5 hrs to get there. Totally worth the drive. They had live acoustic artists entertain us while we waited. I enjoyed that. The downsides were there wasn't enough food trucks. People were in line for food for over an hour, almost 2 hrs. Then just leaving the parking lot of the event took over an hour. I don't know if they could have had another exit, but it was insane trying to get funnel 4000 people out in a single file line of cars out of the place. Feel like that could have ran better too. The actual lantern lighting part was amazing though. I would do that part again and again if I could. I think with a bit more organization this event would have run much better. I bought 2 tickets in early 2019 and then covid happened I emailed many times and tried reaching them on multiple media sites regarding my tickets and if I was going to get a refund or if I could put them toward another event and they never got around to me its 2021 now and I've given up the customer service is really nonexistent and I had a horrible experience will never recommend or spend my money here again this lesson cost me 50 bucks read more

We attended the Mesquite, Nevada Lights Fest and had AN ABSOLUTE BLAST. I was worried at first about getting stuck in traffic or parking being bad but worried all for nothing. The event was well organized and there were no traffic issues or parking issues. I would definitely recommend purchasing extra lanterns with your initial registration because it was more expensive the day of. I believe it was around $10 to add 3 lanterns to my order ahead of time vs $10 for one lantern the day of. If you want to get any pictures in maybe get your pictures in first because it was amazing when everyone launched all together and there were more lanterns in the sky. Towards the end there were less lanterns in the sky for pictures. Food truck choices were great. I would definitely pack more food next time around though. They allow for food to be brought in. This was definitely an experience! I loved the live music, food trucks and the quality time that I got to spend! I loved spending time with my partner. However, I am so glad We did not take our little one! Our daughter is 1 and not potty trained, yet. I could see how that would've been tricky! The lights fest was honestly one of the most beautiful experiences I've ever had. So many emotions running through my body while watching thousands of lanterns lit up in the sky. To be there with people you love and other people around you who are there for the same reasons felt so great. The artist we had named Ky made everything that more great as well. I highly recommend everyone to attend! I am from SoCal and I missed the imperial,CA one but I wanted to go so bad that we drove 5 hours to the mesquite/las Vegas location to experience it - it was beyond what I imagined. I am currently looking for reviews on this outfit. I signed up and paid for 4 tickets to the one closest to San Antonio, TX and I never got an email with my confirmation that I had tickets. I tried sending multiple emails to their contact email with NO response whatsoever. I have since then written a letter including a copy of the money paid to them for these "tickets" and asking for mine. I have received NO RESPONSE WHATSOEVER! I then received an email stating that the event has been rescheduled from April of 2017 until September of 2017. I am NOT happy. If anyone from this company reads this, then they should be aware that I am thinking of legal action. read more

I was so excited about this events for days and looking forward to booked for my family to experience. So I signed up to be one of the first to get notify for registration opening. Prices listed from $30 for VIP if you booked early all the way to $55 if booked late, so okay not bad. When they email me the day of, theysaid be the first 200 customers to book right at 8pm and get Super VIP FOR ONLY $20/person! Wow! Such a deal. So I set everything on my computer up before 8 and ready to clicked "Get Tickets" right when my iPhone turn 8pm (and mind you I tried at 7:59 and it said not avail yet) I clicked and couldn't get through. After keeps trying on multiple devices it's the same response, server not responding or connected. REALLY!!! After about 20 minutes I got thru and the price is $50/person. And by the time I enter all the info required it comes to $55/person + $3/ person for parking including kid 4-12yrs...REALLY! They can drive and parked? Mandatory whether you drive or not. Plus over $5/person for booking fee. So it ended up being almost $70/person instead of $20 or $30 even 20 minutes after 8. This is NOT AN HONEST BUSINESS. I'd asked all my friends and family who likes me doing the same thing and had the same experienced, they all had to paid almost $70/person. Why can't they be honest and just say this is the price instead of playing cat and mouse! I'm so upset and feel like my time is wasted. They have changed the venue to a place five hours from San Diego, and said if people wanted their money back they would give a refund. I have tried contacting the company multiple times (there is no phone contact for them), and received no response for my refund request. This business is not legitimate.
