The hamburger and pancakes ordered by others get similar reviews. It was a hamburger and tasted like one. The pancakes, being hard to screw up, were just pancakes. This is a cash-only place, so come prepared to be vilified for wanting to pay with plastic. The prices were lower than the norm but that did little to make me feel better upon leaving. Despite the dearth of customers when we were there, the service was also lacking. I had to seek out help to get a refill on my iced tea and we waited a while to pay...with cash. We do remember eating at this establishment with my wife's brother in law sometime in the past. Two of our party had the haddock one fried and one grilled, one had the crab cakes and I had the special (stuffed scallops with crab stuffing). Our meals also came with the bread and soup bar. The selection of bread was great, maybe 5 or 6 kinds, and the soup of the day was delicious beef noodle. Cubes of Swiss and cheddar cheese were also available. I don't think I've had homemade pie that good since gorging at Valois back in my olden grad school days in the South Side of Chicago.
