They are unwilling to change the bill coding so that your insurance will cover the bill, they don't tell you the patient what examination is being performed and the office is incompetent to perform the paperwork that the insurance company has informed the patient of needing to be performed. I went for an annual exam, however little did I know they coded it as a check-up and my insurance company does not cower those at the 100% rate. I called my insurance and they explained what they coded the bill ass and to discuss it with the medical office. I proceed to being told that it will be investigated by the coding office, the coding office never contacted me to verify my claims and said it was correct. Basically get scammed because a few employees cant tell the patient what the type of treatment is being performed and they be on the hook for the bill. I have never in my life had a worst experience with billing office by a medical provider.

I need a monthly prescription refilled, and I've gone without for days 3 times in the last 6 months. They've called it into the pharmacy, but they now don't take my insurance. It's at 4:30 when I NEED to talk to someone in the office and they can't be bothered to pick up. They only want to help someone when they're supposed to be working or otherwise busy. It's very frustrating to be a patient here, and likely won't be any further.

The atmosphere is calm and serene and the doctors and staff take time with each person. They are building relationships and have earned my trust. Dr. Pirani (both husband and wife) lead by example and obviously have an eye for hiring the best staff and fellow doctors. Having two locations available to me, where I feel safe, cared for and trust the service they give, is true blessing to my whole family. Once they see the doc, it was 6:30 PM and the doc says he has Cellulitis, needs to have an IV treatment at a hospital and sends him away. They are open until 7. So, they go to the hospital, I arrive ther and the caregiver is relieved and we wait for another 3 hours...the doc writes a prescription for my dad. I ask what about the IV...why he was sent to the hospital? She said he did not have a fever and there was no need for anything other than the prescription, unless he develops a fever. I regaled the story given to us, and the ER doc said that was their standard MO. So....one bill, that has not yet arrived is for the urgent care facility, and another bill is for the emergency room visit...which was not really required....if the urgent care doc would have just taken the 15 minutes to look at my dad and write the prescription. You ought to be ashamed of the way you treat people. Fail.

My first and last experience with Sunrise Urgent Care. I…read morearrived at the Sunrise Urgent Care on Hugh Howell at ​6:16 PM. I researched their hours and ​found that they closed at 7:00 PM. Just before getting out of my vehicle all​ of the window lights went out and I went to the door and it was locked. I knocked on the door and an employee came to the door and stated "we are closed,​" ​and I said "your sign says you close at 7:00 PM and it also states that online. She informed me that they take our last patient at 6:15. As I stood there talking to her with a ​barely controllable wheezing cough in the cold and rain, she continued to keep me at bay outside. She asked me what's going on, I told her I thought I had a cold, but I haven't been able to shake it, I have a nagging, cough and I am often​ short of breath. As I stood outside in the cold and rain while she continued stood in the doorway, she stated that another urgent care facility was about a mile or two up the road and it closes at 8. She went inside and closed the door, leaving me outside and came back with an address. The other location turned out to be almost seven miles down the road. I live in Smoke Rise and the Urgent Care office she sent me to was almost 10 miles from my home with an hour wait. After being diagnosed with bronchitis, I then went to my Kroger pharmacy on Rockbridge Rd. and waited for my prescription. I did not get home until close to 9PM. I found the employee at Sunrise to be rude, not helpful and inconsiderate given that I was ill and seeking assistance. I will not refer or recommend them to anyone who is in need of medical attention.
