Wow what a great meal!…read more We went as a party of five. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodated us running late as well. Our server was so kind and gave us helpful advice on our order. We ended up ordering the Jerk Duck drumettes which were incredible -- super soft fall off the bone duck in a tangy sauce with some spice. Truly perfect and I think we all licked our plates clean. We also tried the fried okra which had little okra sticks set in a yogurt dip and was a really nice compliment to the drumettes. Last we got the Plantain chips which were so good -- definitely some of the best plantain chips I have had because they cut them so thin! And the dipping sauce was yummy also, would definitely start your meal with this. For mains, we shared the Suya Fennel, Goat Ragu, and Prawn Curry. I'm not sure I've ever eaten a fennel dish before but the Suya Fennel was so yummy with different textured vegetables in a creamy sauce. The prawn curry was also incredible with five fat prawns in a tangy coconut curry sauce with a side of fried roti/paratha perfect for cleaning up all the sauce. They also were easily able to accommodate a nut allergy and put the cashew cream on the side for us! The goat ragu was also yummy but came out like-warm (not sure if that's how it's supposed to come) and was overshadowed by the other mains a bit. For dessert we ended up trying all three -- the Cardamom Semifredo, Chocolate Raspberry Clafoutis, and Mango ice cream and love all of them! I think we all agreed our favorite was the Cardamom Semifredo because it's so unique -- the texture of the cake is almost like rasmalai and it comes with crunchy puffed rice which was a perfect balance. Definitely worth trying if you're open to trying something new! We also loved the mango ice cream with peanut brittle which is thicker than typical ice creams and also like a mango lassi ice cream. The chocolate clafoutis was super solid and similar to a lava cake, and perfect if you're looking for a chocolate fix, but not as unique as the other two. Overall we had such a great time at Comfort Kitchen. The service was great, the food was great, and the vibes were great. We will certainly be back!

We visited around 8:30pm, 2 hours before close, & had no issues grabbing a table for 2! Service was top-notch & food was amazing. These are the dishes we ordered: -Aachar Beef -Fried Okra -Jerk Duck Drumettes -Fried Trout -Prawn Curry w/ Roti Everything we ordered was absolutely DELICIOUS! The Aachar Beef consists of 8 sliced grilled beef, laid over some green tomato aioli w/ some fingerling potatoes + pickled shallots. Had great flavor & every ingredient paired well w/ each other. I personally LOVE okra, so the fried okra was right up my alley! It came with garama masala yogurt, which was SO ADDICTIVE to eat. Now, if you're like us & ordered the Jerk Duck Drumettes as well, PLEASE try dipping the fried okra in both the jerk sauce AND the yogurt dip... it's such a lovely flavor bomb! I highly recommend the Jerk Duck Drumettes for anyone who is a fan of duck... or even for those who don't usually like duck honestly. It's not gamey at all & was super tender. The sauce was finger-licking good! It packed some heat, as did the crab fat hot sauce that came w/ the fried trout & the prawn curry. Normally in my reviews, I have a clear favorite for dishes we order but I have to admit... it's pretty hard to say which was my favorite from here because everything was just that tasty! The Fried Trout comes boneless, with some coleslaw & crab fat hot sauce that made for the perfect dip! Highly recommend if you like a bit of spice. The Prawn Curry was my favorite entree. I couldn't stop eating it & by the end of our meal, we had finished everything INCLUDING the curry and sauces hahaha. Seriously, you can't go wrong with anything you order from Comfort Kitchen! One of the best & most satisfying meals I've had in a while. I will definitely be back again soon. Parking: free street parking

We ordered through uber eats; it is only available through a delivery food app. We got our order so fast and when we took the lids off the containers, the mac and cheese was still so hot, it was steaming! We got the original mac, the spicy mac, and an order of homemade chips. The original mac sauce was out of this world! It was so creamy and so delicious, I will definitely be getting it again. The spicy mac came with crushed chips and crackers to sprinkle on top. The mac was okay, the sauce wasn't too spicy but it had a flavor that I wasn't a huge fan of. When I order again, I want to try several of their other kinds of mac. We also got the homemade chips, and they were seriously one of the best homemade chips I have ever had. They were so crispy and thick and had the perfect amount/flavor of seasoning. Getting a side order of the chips is a must!

We decided to order two types of mac and cheese on a Saturday night in December for takeout. I noticed upon following The Mac Bar on Insta that they were offering the perfect mac combo right up my alley- meatball mac! Upon looking at the menu, I did not see it as an option (with the extensive list of other ones!) I DMed the Mac Bar's insta and within 20 minutes not only had they responded to me, but had also changed the menu so you could order the meatball mac. We ordered online- my boyfriend ordered the buffalo mac and I opted, obviously, for the meatball mac. The pickup was easy and prompt. Both macs were amazing. The portions were ginormous (we had leftovers for lunch the next day) and the packing kept the mac fresh even when we drove it home. The buffalo mac had a great buffalo flavor with delicious breaded chicken on top. It comes with blue cheese normally but we requested it on the side. The meatball mac was awesome- the meatballs were flavorful, the pesto drizzle was a delicious touch, and the mac and cheese was creamy and savory. I think sometimes with all the combinations of flavors created with mac and cheese you sometimes lose the taste and quality of the actual mac and cheese, but this was definitely not the case here. The mac and cheese was still the star of each dish with each add on as a nice flavor booster. Fantastic customer service, heaping portions, and honestly the best mac and cheese I've had in Boston- hands down. The Mac Bar will be a new staple in my take out rotation for sure!

Our waitress Bonnie was a gem! She had great recommendations and was very knowledgeable about the menu. The cornbread, I can't say enough about how amazing it was and the cheese on the bottom of the skillet, what a treat! The drinks were amazing. Bonnie helped my husband pick his drinks because he was unsure about the offerings and her picks were great! The chicken wings were cooked perfectly. The macaroni and cheese, don't ask questions about it just get it and don't be surprised that as it starts to cool, it tastes even better than when it first hits the table. Hubs had the pulled pork sandwich which was a big hit. Collard greens had a bit too much vinegar for me it, but I think it just needed some sugar and hot sauce. The mashed potatoes and gravy was fire. Whatever they boil those potatoes in is working!. Overall it was a great meal. The only complaint, if I have to have one is that the playlist in the kitchen was a lot better than it was in the restaurant. We definitely will come back again!! Ps: Hubs woke up telling me he wants his own cornbread next time!

Unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming overall. I ordered the signature gumbo and was very disappointed. It was extremely watery, heavily herb-flavored, and lacked the rich, traditional New Orleans-style roux I was expecting. For $25, the portion was also disappointing and only 2 shrimp, about 4 pieces of sausage, and one small piece of lump crab. The rice paired with it was actually flavorful and one of the better parts of the dish, but it couldn't save the gumbo itself. The Vermont butter biscuits were one of the highlights, absolutely delicious when served warm. They were soft, buttery, and flavorful. My only complaint is that the portion was too small. The brisket was tender, but it was served extremely cold, and the BBQ sauce that came with it was also ice cold, which really took away from the dish. The mac and cheese tasted exactly like frozen Stouffer's and was honestly the biggest disappointment of the meal. The fried pickles had good flavor, though I ordered them expecting more okra in the mix and there was barely any. The potato salad was surprisingly excellent, well-balanced, creamy, and one of the best things we tried. The cowboy steak bites had potential but were extremely overcooked, oily, and lacked flavor. Definitely not something I would order again. Service was inattentive throughout our visit. No one checked in to ask how the food was, remove menus, or acknowledge that I barely touched my gumbo. I had ordered two bowls, and only after bringing it to the manager's attention was it corrected. The atmosphere was another downside. The music was so loud that it was hard to hear the people at my table. We specifically made a 3:30 reservation because the website stated live music would end at that time until later in the evening, but that wasn't the case. The strawberry guava margarita was very good, but overall this wasn't the birthday brunch experience I had hoped for. Between the inconsistent food, inattentive service, and overall lack of attention to detail, I don't see myself returning.

Upstairs can be incredibly loud as well so if noise isn't your thing, try downstairs. There is also always a $5 cocktail special downstairs. I…read moreremember being amazed watching them cook our selected meals on the big grill in the middle of the restaurant . I remember being happy to just try different things. So since I was in the area, I decided to take my child so she could also experience what I experienced as a child. The problem is, I may have selected the worst day to take her. When we entered, there's a sign that tells you to go upstairs to the host to be seated so we proceeded up the stairs to the top floor, where the main restaurant is. When you walk into the second floor, the hosts were already there, waiting at the podium to sit people. I was informed that there was too large big group of school aged children coming in and that my daughter and I would not be able to sit on the second floor, where the grill is, however, we can sit downstairs and would have to keep going up and down the stairs whenever we needed to grab anything to eat. I was OK with leaving and coming back another day however, my daughter being excited and wanting to try this restaurant out, convinced me to stay. So I stayed lol.... Within 10 minutes of us being there, the schools came in and it became very crowded very fast and very overwhelming. It was hard to navigate through so many people with a small child by my side. Although I paid $28 for myself and $18 for my daughter for our meals (drink were an additional cost) I ended up having only one small plate of food, and my daughter only had a bowl of steamed white rice. It was overwhelming navigating through so many people, waiting to get our meals on the grill and having to go up and down the stairs (two flights) with our meal in hand. Besides it being extremely crowded and hectic, the waiter and waitress downstairs at the bar were both very nice, the waitress let my daughter use her pencil so she could do her homework and the waiter tried his best to be attentive to the other customers who were guided to also eat downstairs. I would definitely return but would call to make a reservation to ensure that there aren't major events happening when we return.
