I believe they relocated to inside this 140 hotel since. Came in here near the end of closing and the food have been sitting out looking pretty dry. Ordered the chicken Parmesan pasta which the cook heated it up for like a few seconds . The sauce was pretty tasteless and bland. Maybe the pizza would be better than their pasta . Next time I'll stick to their pizza instead.

You can find Viga Italian Eatery at 140 Clarendon Street, Boston, MA 02116. Viga caters many events for the Boston location of my current employer and as such, I sampled a couple of packaged lunches (well, actually one packaged sandwich lunch and one "sampler" style lunch with sandwich halves) while visiting just before Halloween. So this review is specific to those items I ate and only orthogonal to the restaurant location. I'm not sure if this is the location that produces the catered food, but it is the closest to the office and wins the lottery. Lunch number one was a Milano grilled chicken breast sandwich with homemade dill sauce, romaine and tomatoes. This was served on what was either a ciabatta or Italian baguette with thinly sliced chicken - the sandwich was about 9-10 inches long and quite filling. Taste-wise it was good but nothing special. The bag also held Sun Chips, a White Macadamia Nut Cookie, a Viga-printed mint, a moist towelette and a package holding knife/fork/salt/pepper. Lunch number two was more of a catered- platter affair with several veg and non-veg quarter-sandwiches. I tried the roast and it was quite good - I also had something like a Caprese salad-on-a-role that was rather innocuous and pretty much tasteless. If I had my druthers I would have loaded up on salad but for some reason that part of the cater went upstairs. In all, the food was very reminiscent of some of the local Atlanta chains like Panera Bread or similar. I'm betting the food would be much better on-location - it seems my Boston office caters quite a bit from Viga so there must not be many complaints.

Just got a turkey wrap, which was all shredded lettuce, barely any turkey, bacon, and they forgot the provolone cheese. This place has really gone down hill, why did I bother going here again. The girl looked miserable, and it shows in the wrap she made. NEVER AGAIN!!!

This is what I opened at home after paying for a "Thanksgiving" type sandwich. No stuffing? Dry!

I enjoy Viga pasta and sandwich shop as fast and inexpensive take out. The food is good, but not remarkably so. The prices are excellent for Back Bay. The staff is friendly and attentive. THE DEAL: do watch them make your order To be sure you get what you think you ordered. I ordered the "Thanksgiving" sandwich, Which they offer on their regular menu. I did not check it until we got home, and ONLY got turkey on cranberry spread. At the very least, it should include stuffing.

Viga is definitely a good option for those that need a quick lunch. Often times there is a long line, but it moves quickly. My go to order is a caesar salad with chicken; however, when I'm in a rush, I opt for their prepackaged caesar salad without chicken.

Margherita Pizza  Best I have Ever Had & Would travel 100 miles to get one!!

Honestly, this place may be the worst best ohmygoodness delicious lunch spot near my new office. I bet you've seen them around town, but honestly, have you tried the pizza?! Viga may get a bland rep for its catered lunches. I understand. I'd feel the same way, man. But the way you feel, if you've only had catered Viga, is wrong buddy. Just plain wrong. Walking through the door your pounded with delicious smells from breads, to pizzas, to marinara, to pizza, oh, we're at the pizza counter now. Order it all. I'll pay you back. The pizza is delicious, the salad is incredibly fresh, and the line is never too long. I repeat. There is no line. Neo would have to wait in line anywhere else in this blasted city during the lunch rush. You, a commoner, will not at Viga.

So I got the large lasagna. Almost 7 dollars for a medium sized piece, but it didn't even fill half of the large box. Big mistake. Now here comes the taste test of the lasagna. 1) You can taste the tomato sauce and the meatiness from the meat. That's it. It doesn't linger, there's no "wow!" factor. It's watery and oily, and falls apart easily. Honestly if you're craving pasta, just get the regular spaghetti and meatballs. Same flavor, same thing. It's decent and kind of stingy might I add. P.S. Some parts of the lasagna pasta is still hard And I also bought a cookie and it was almost over $2, tasted awful and I almost chipped my tooth and it was also a medium sized and the way they serve their food wasted so much plastic ‍AND the first time I got it, it hurt my stomach. However there Mac and cheese is soooo good.

You get what you pay for at Viga - it's an appropriate spot for a quick and dirt cheap pasta lunch. Their pasta is average, slightly overcooked, and contained only about 2-3 chunks of chicken in their chicken broccoli Alfredo, but was consistent with their very low price (a containerful with bread on the side was around $8). Serving size was large and made me want to take a nap after lunch.

Chicken Parmigiana Sandwich - needs more sauce!

Good spot for reliable quick-serve sandwiches and Italian. Quality can sometimes be an issue. Buffalo chicken wrap and chicken club are favorites. Chicken parm is usually good, but they really need to be more consistent with sauce. Recent order only had minimal.

The servers inside are working their tails off...! Their work pace is not the issue, it's the establishment's popularity...! Looks very authentic inside like a restaurant / deli you might find in Firenze. I decided to order the Italian Sub as they make it; no changes. In hindsight, I should've changed a few things I kind of knew I wouldn't like, but wanted to roll with their take on the classic sub. The bread was very fresh and the meats abundant and plentiful! I was not a fan of the balsamic, nor the "hots" (not "hot" so-to-speak, but kind of a marinated sweet pepper, nor am a fan of sweet pickles. Condiments on their sandwich...? Mayonnaise (none), mustard (none). I believe it's only balsamic and EVIO. I ate a half sandwich and was quite full. I honestly threw the other half out. Wasn't my jam. PRO-TIP: Place an order online for pick-up; walk up, go in the second door (to the left) straight to the counter where you pay and pick up your sandwich which will be ready by the time you get there. My first introduction…read moreended up being at a corporate event in Boston's Seaport district, where lunch arrived courtesy of one of the city's best-known sandwich shops. The catering was impressive. Before anyone even took a bite. Every half sandwich was individually wrapped and clearly labeled, with salads and sides neatly organized, making it easy for a large group to grab lunch without the usual catering chaos. The choices were wide and varied. We took our lunches upstairs to a rooftop seating area overlooking the Seaport, which made for a pretty great setting on a beautiful afternoon. I chose the Gobbler, and it lived up to the hype I've since read in other reviews. At first glance it sounds like a Thanksgiving leftover sandwich, but it's much more than that. The turkey was fresh and flavorful, and it was complemented by stuffing, cranberry sauce, spinach, pepper jack cheese, and just enough chipotle mayo to add an unexpected kick, without overwhelming everything else. It's one of those combinations that sounds busy on paper but comes together remarkably well. I spoke with several others over lunch, and they were equally impressed with their choices. That's always a good sign when you're feeding a crowd. It's one thing to make a great sandwich to order; it's another to deliver dozens of them catered while maintaining that level of quality. Since this was catered, I can't really comment on the restaurant itself. The service on the catering side, however, was evident in how thoughtfully everything was prepared and packaged, and the rooftop setting where we enjoyed lunch certainly didn't hurt. Needless to say, this won't be my last Sam LaGrassa's sandwich. I fully intend to visit the restaurant one of these days, and in the meantime I'll spend some time trying to recreate that Gobbler at home (maybe with sliced roasted chicken, but also with turkey when I have it). It was that good.

My partner and I had intended to order another sandwich, an eggplant offering, but they were out of eggplant and said there would be more available in 3 hours. We decided to split the "Table". Thank goodness because 1/2 was more than filling. When we arrived there was a line of at least 20 people ahead of us waiting to order. The line moved fairly swiftly as we waited approximately 10 minutes to order. At ordering we were told our order would be ready in 45 minutes. Upon checkout, when the card machine was turned toward us, we opted not to apply a tip, as there was nowhere to sit to enjoy our sandwich and noone to serve us. Reviewing the receipt we saw that we were automatically charged for a 20% tip of $5.20 on the $26 sandwich and further more, the receipt had recommended %'s for an additional tip. The sandwich was ready in the stated 45 minutes. It was very good, but would have been memorable and brag-worthy if we had a table to sit at as we waited and then enjoyed our meal. As it was we ate, sitting on a granite bench adjacent to the Paul Revere on horseback statue surrounded by Boston's finest pigeons. We were unaccustomed to tipping for no service without being notified ahead of cashing out. While we generally tip 20% or better for service, when no service or seating is offered, being charged 20% without notification is offensive and we won't be back.

We almost felt that we were inconveniencing the workers and the wait time is absurd for in person orders. But I have to give credit when it's due, this was by far one of my favorite sandwiches although they are pricey, you can easily feed a party of four with a nice bag of chips on the side. We were blessed with being able to try the table sandwich. The focaccia was fresh along with the mozzarella and arugula. Since we made an online order which quoted us 45 minutes, our sandwich was ready in 20 so unfortunately, the chicken cutlet was not as fresh as we would've liked. Sidenote, the first day we attempted to order in person they quoted us an hour, so we decided to place an order of the following day. Highly recommend placing the order and staying local to be safe. Despite all the sandwiches, well worth the weight, just don't have high expectations for service We love the ambience of a little Italian market, and it was very well kept

I've eaten here before (it's a small area, but does have a lot of seating) but normally I get it as take out. The cafe itself is super casual, it's the perfect place to pop into during lunch or after a walk. The spinach tortellini with the pesto cream sauce is my absolute favorite- it's a HUGE portion and so delicious. It usually lasts me at least 2 meals. The bread they include is also great! I like to dip it in the sauce. The past time I got Dino's I accidentally ordered spinach ravioli instead of tortellini...that was my bad. HOWEVER I think I might have found my new favorite? The raviolis are huge and so fat. I'm talking like 1/2 inch - 3/4 inch thick. There is so much stuffing and the spinach ricotta mix tastes so fresh and delicious...it's a must try. I've also gotten the eggplant parm before, and the fettuccini Alfredo. Both were also delicious. I've never had any of the sandwiches, but if they are anything like their pastas then I'm sure they are great! The bang for your buck here is also great which is nice. Highly recommend! Dinos is awesome! And the staff is very kind too (Note that the pic is taken from a train, I like to treat myself to Dino's before catching the Amtrak)

I would give the burrito 4 out of 5 stars because of the way it was wrapped - about a third of the burrito was just egg and cheese and the toppings (avocado, red onion, hash browns, salsa verde, crema) were crammed on the other side of the burrito. If there was a way for the burrito to be wrapped so all the ingredients were more evenly distributed - this would easily be a 5/5 breakfast burrito.
