I believe they relocated to inside this 140 hotel since. Came in here near the end of closing and the food have been sitting out looking pretty dry. Ordered the chicken Parmesan pasta which the cook heated it up for like a few seconds . The sauce was pretty tasteless and bland. Maybe the pizza would be better than their pasta . Next time I'll stick to their pizza instead.

Just got a turkey wrap, which was all shredded lettuce, barely any turkey, bacon, and they forgot the provolone cheese. This place has really gone down hill, why did I bother going here again. The girl looked miserable, and it shows in the wrap she made. NEVER AGAIN!!!

You can find Viga Italian Eatery at 140 Clarendon Street, Boston, MA 02116. Viga caters many events for the Boston location of my current employer and as such, I sampled a couple of packaged lunches (well, actually one packaged sandwich lunch and one "sampler" style lunch with sandwich halves) while visiting just before Halloween. So this review is specific to those items I ate and only orthogonal to the restaurant location. I'm not sure if this is the location that produces the catered food, but it is the closest to the office and wins the lottery. Lunch number one was a Milano grilled chicken breast sandwich with homemade dill sauce, romaine and tomatoes. This was served on what was either a ciabatta or Italian baguette with thinly sliced chicken - the sandwich was about 9-10 inches long and quite filling. Taste-wise it was good but nothing special. The bag also held Sun Chips, a White Macadamia Nut Cookie, a Viga-printed mint, a moist towelette and a package holding knife/fork/salt/pepper. Lunch number two was more of a catered- platter affair with several veg and non-veg quarter-sandwiches. I tried the roast and it was quite good - I also had something like a Caprese salad-on-a-role that was rather innocuous and pretty much tasteless. If I had my druthers I would have loaded up on salad but for some reason that part of the cater went upstairs. In all, the food was very reminiscent of some of the local Atlanta chains like Panera Bread or similar. I'm betting the food would be much better on-location - it seems my Boston office caters quite a bit from Viga so there must not be many complaints.

This is what I opened at home after paying for a "Thanksgiving" type sandwich. No stuffing? Dry!

I enjoy Viga pasta and sandwich shop as fast and inexpensive take out. The food is good, but not remarkably so. The prices are excellent for Back Bay. The staff is friendly and attentive. THE DEAL: do watch them make your order To be sure you get what you think you ordered. I ordered the "Thanksgiving" sandwich, Which they offer on their regular menu. I did not check it until we got home, and ONLY got turkey on cranberry spread. At the very least, it should include stuffing.

Viga is definitely a good option for those that need a quick lunch. Often times there is a long line, but it moves quickly. My go to order is a caesar salad with chicken; however, when I'm in a rush, I opt for their prepackaged caesar salad without chicken.

Margherita Pizza  Best I have Ever Had & Would travel 100 miles to get one!!

Each & Every Time I plan a trip to Boston, Viga is my go to & first stop Breakfast Best ever, Lunch Is AMAZING so much to choose from & I believe over the years I have tried most everything they offer & There is not another Restaurant that can offer so many AMAZING choices form Salad & Pizza, Wraps, Sandwich's , Special Salads, You can get a pre-made Salad or head to the Salad Bar where you can have them build you a Salad the way you want it, Hot Bar has different choices everyday & A variety of Snacks & Desert , Its SIMPLY AMAZING

So I got the large lasagna. Almost 7 dollars for a medium sized piece, but it didn't even fill half of the large box. Big mistake. Now here comes the taste test of the lasagna. 1) You can taste the tomato sauce and the meatiness from the meat. That's it. It doesn't linger, there's no "wow!" factor. It's watery and oily, and falls apart easily. Honestly if you're craving pasta, just get the regular spaghetti and meatballs. Same flavor, same thing. It's decent and kind of stingy might I add. P.S. Some parts of the lasagna pasta is still hard And I also bought a cookie and it was almost over $2, tasted awful and I almost chipped my tooth and it was also a medium sized and the way they serve their food wasted so much plastic ‍AND the first time I got it, it hurt my stomach. However there Mac and cheese is soooo good.

Honestly, this place may be the worst best ohmygoodness delicious lunch spot near my new office. I bet you've seen them around town, but honestly, have you tried the pizza?! Viga may get a bland rep for its catered lunches. I understand. I'd feel the same way, man. But the way you feel, if you've only had catered Viga, is wrong buddy. Just plain wrong. Walking through the door your pounded with delicious smells from breads, to pizzas, to marinara, to pizza, oh, we're at the pizza counter now. Order it all. I'll pay you back. The pizza is delicious, the salad is incredibly fresh, and the line is never too long. I repeat. There is no line. Neo would have to wait in line anywhere else in this blasted city during the lunch rush. You, a commoner, will not at Viga.

You get what you pay for at Viga - it's an appropriate spot for a quick and dirt cheap pasta lunch. Their pasta is average, slightly overcooked, and contained only about 2-3 chunks of chicken in their chicken broccoli Alfredo, but was consistent with their very low price (a containerful with bread on the side was around $8). Serving size was large and made me want to take a nap after lunch.

Chicken Parmigiana Sandwich - needs more sauce!

Good spot for reliable quick-serve sandwiches and Italian. Quality can sometimes be an issue. Buffalo chicken wrap and chicken club are favorites. Chicken parm is usually good, but they really need to be more consistent with sauce. Recent order only had minimal.

This is a quaint little eatery located in the YWCA building. We grabbed a quick bite to eat here while staying at hotel 140. The food was good for the price, the chicken soup really stood out though, and the staff were friendly. The pastries they had at the coffee bar looked delicious as well.

Without hesitation he said "New York Pizza. It's just a couple blocks away". And off we went, walking the streets of Boston to get pizza, having no idea what we were heading towards. When we arrived we were greeted with a storefront and order-at-the-counter pizza. Not what I was expecting, but I was OK with it. We looked at the menu and -- WOW -- the pizza options were nearly endless! I'm guessing about two dozen pizza varieties with more combinations of toppings that I thought were mathematically possible. And these pizzas were H U G E ! There are about a dozen tables and not enough chairs at New York Pizza, so if you find an empty chair - hey, fair game. We managed to get 4 chair for our high top four top. While we were placing our order I asked the guy behind the counter if this place was always this busy. He said "busy? This is slow!". I can't even imagine, because every table was occupied. Aside from the menu boards and the music (they were playing a varied playlist of 80s, 90s, and 2000s), it wasn't big on décor, but it suited it's purpose. I imagine the do a pretty significant takeout business. After about 2 minutes of consideration we landed on a Meat Lover's pizza. After a day of A LOT of walking, a pizza with pepperoni, ham, and sausage sounded 100% perfect. I looked like a lot of pizza. And I recall thinking "there's no way the four of us can eat a pizza that big!". (more on that later). There is no soda fountain so your beverage came out of a can or bottle from a refrigerator. Fast forward about 12 minutes and our pizza was called. It. Was. Freaking. Enormous. And it looked SOOO good. And it was hot. I mean HAWT! It was so hot we had to let it set for about 5 minutes before we could grab a slice. (non sequitur) I've never been a fan of folding pizza in half. I've given shade to people who fold pizza in half quite a few times. After much consideration, I now feel like I need to apologize to those people. This pizza was so big and the crust so thin that you had to fold it in half...and I'm going to sheepishly admit that I embraced the folding of the pizza slice. For one thing, to keep from scalding the inside of my mouth, and to keep from wearing pizza sauce on either side of you face like Joker. The pizza amazingly delicious and we ate with abandon. Seriously. Remember how I said the four of us could never eat a pizza that large? I lied.

Salty Pig Pizza: A pizza with the same name as the restaurant! Who was the genius who came up with the idea of salted pig and beer caramel? It's brilliant! The salted pork appears to include Prosciutto di Parma from Langirano, Prosciutto Cotto, and Salcissia. Baking rendered the prosciutto's fat, which blends with the caramel to create a beautiful golden syrup that flows across the pizza's surface. The prosciutto was savory, oily, and tender; the minced salcissia retains its coarse texture and rich meaty aroma; the caramel was sweet and mellow with a honey-like sweetness, forming the top, middle, and base notes respectively. The arugula was slightly warmed, losing its astringent and raw taste while maintaining its crisp texture, helped to cut through the richness together with the Parmesan cheese powder. The crust was crispy, while the inside the dough was soft and chewy. The cooking time and seasoning were all just right, and the restaurant's proud wooden oven added a charming smoky flavor. Affogato: I had high expectations, but it was just okay. The espresso was too sour, and the vanilla ice cream couldn't balance it out. The almond biscuits had an overpowering almond flavor, and the flavor of plant-based protein was terrible! (Oh, this should have been a plus...)
