Fresh Boston is a great place to stop by for a yummy sandwich! We were in the area looking for a new place to try for a quick bite. It's a pretty casual spot, though they do have a bar area. Decent amount of seating. First impressions: quite expensive menu for sandwiches, salads, and smoothies. Most of the sandwiches are almost $20 or more. We originally wanted to try their grilled cheese w/ tomato soup but they didn't offer it anymore when we visited. Looks like they switch up their menu every 2 weeks! So here's what we ended up getting: - the fruits and the maytals smoothie -pressed: steak piece - pigs gone wild The sandwiches took ~15 min + smoothie took around 10 min to be ready. Okay, so the sandwiches were TEA!! So good. Both sandwiches we ordered were on focaccia bread & they were absolutely delicious. The sandwiches were big too! I honestly was expecting them to be small, but I'm glad they were generous. Flavors were tasty; I love both but the Pigs Gone Wild was my favorite! The truffle honey aioli was something else, highly recommend. The smoothie we got tasted refreshing & exactly as described. I would definitely come back again & get the Pigs Gone Wild or try other sandwiches since they switch up their menu every two weeks. Stopped in after a B/Spoke class! Grabbed a smoothie because today was hot and the class was heated haha. The smoothie i honestly don't remember what i ordered but it had a lot of citrus fruits in there. Blended well, not too icy where it becomes a slushy. Reminded me of capt. Kidd at the mall's planet smoothie before they closed down. So that's a plus in my book! The sandwiches we grabbed: pressed special beef pieces - i enjoyed this thoroughly, pressed bread was delish, good texture, chew and flavor. The steak was shaved thin cooked well on grill top with fried shallots and special sauce. Haven't had a cheesesteak in a min. The prime rib steak shavings, Provolone cheese, onions fried shallots and chimichurri sauce and focaccia bread, yea...YES I'll order another of this! Our friend got the pigs gone wild, this was also good, but i think it would be better as a pressed sandwhich to hold its shape with all the fixings that were in it. Slow roasted pork (not overly dry, a bit lacking in flavor itself) truffle honey aioli was great! Salsa verde, chili, fresh parm on focaccia bread. All in all about $20ish sandwiches, 10-14$ drinks. My order: Turkey Temptress on gluten free bread The Review: Oh my lord, this place...the positives are: the food wasn't bad, there were options for different dietary needs, and it's kind of cute inside. Fresh South Boston was super crowded and the staff couldn't keep up with the demand, which led to a pretty rough experience. We first sat down and waited for someone to serve us. After being ignored for 20-30 min we decided to order at the counter instead. Decided to stay because there aren't that many casual places with gluten free options in the area. The counter took another 30-40 minutes, and they gave me the wrong sandwich (which could have gone quite wrong if someone had a severe allergy), and they completely left out another item we'd ordered. Check your order before you leave the store! I placed an order online including a bag of chips. When i got home-no chips! I was close so i went back and they said the reason was that they were out of that particular variety. They gave me another bag but it seems like they should have notified me rather than just not giving them to me! But the sandwich was good! read more

YUM! I was very pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed my sandwich at fresh Boston. The inside ambiance is super cute - has a modern feel with a beachy theme that makes it a vibe on a summer day. Service is super friendly and kind! We came in while they still had their brunch menu so I got the breakfast sandwich (cant remember the exact name at the moment) on everything focaccia. The focaccia was so delicious - had a great bounce, crunch, and flavor. Inside the sandwich was scallion cream cheese, an egg, hashbrown, and bacon. What a savory combo!!! The cream cheese blended so well with the chipotle aioli. The softness of the egg, cheese, and hashbrown balanced well with the crunch on the bacon and focaccia. Wicked good sandwiches! I love a fresh Italian sandwich and the Capone was just that! It comes with tomatoes on a fresh ciabatta bread (still warm). The bartender was super friendly! Tried the second location at the Canalside food court in Cambridge and it was excellent! Loved the Capone sandwich, bread was delicious and crispy, really good filling. Friendly staff. This is a cute little spot away from the main drag of Southie! We went pretty early for dinner on a Friday and the place was quiet, seemed like everybody already left town for the summer weekend. I preferred it like that, though, it's hard to find a place in Southie that's not a crazy scene! The Peter Peter Caesar Caesar I ordered was delicious - the focaccia bread was soft and held up well to the hefty toppings. I loved the addition of sun-dried tomatoes, it added a nice brightness to the sandwich. The zucchini fritters were also a hit, the lemon and chive sauce it came with was top notch. They have a handful of beers on tap, but only a couple were local craft brews. Always happy to find Maine Beer Co. on tap around here though! The green velvet high-top chairs look very luxe at first glance, but they were surprisingly lightweight, and the swivel felt a bit flimsy. The decor was otherwise cute and I loved the chill vibes of the place. They also have a decent selection of beer, wine, and liquor that you can buy to-go. The sandwiches are a little pricey (but what isn't these days?), but I'd still stop back in here for some tasty food and nice drinks! read more

Chix cutlets great fry on them, focaccia great, unfortunately there was zero spicy vodka sauce on cutlets, very depressing, to tired to drive back. Spicy bloody - very good Boozy coffee (Southie Screwie)- good but a little sweet Bagel sandwich (Wake n'Bacon) - good twist on a traditional breakfast sandwich. The food is incredible - best acai bowl I've had in my life even if expensive. Drinks are also really good. Taking off one star because we tried to order multiple things on the menu, then were told they "weren't serving those items today"... From a service perspective, why hand out menus you aren't serving from? I would've at least appreciated them specifying what's available when we sat down or before they took our order. To be clear, I will be back to order food here. My only gripe is that why should anyone pay 17 dollars for a salad that is the size of a quarter? Like how do you expect people to re-order salads when they are duped into paying 17 bucks for a side salad? Any other place in southie provides way more salad for less money. It's just a bummer, you spend all of that money to make it a super nice place and then jack up the prices across the board. Bread was baked with olive oil and with a perfect crunch. The place itself was beautifully decorated with a boho vibe. Very clean and everyone was so kind.
