In classic speakeasy fashion, this dark "craft beverage" bar (not JUST whiskey bar...according to…read morethe tender on duty) is tucked neatly behind a bookshelf within a storefront that lacks outer signage. You could easily (and maybe have...) walk past it and not even know. I found my way in and was faced with a dark room and a wonderfully lit display of liquors. They infuse many of their own and offer flights of infused whiskeys. The drink menu has options that feature many different spirits. I chose a gin and citrus drink that was a wonderful blend of bitter and refreshing. I made myself sip it slowly, but it was tasty enough that I could have thrown it back. The bar tender was friendly and attentive, as well as knowledgeable. The room seemed to be recovering from the recent Hoopfest...there were coolers and some things in the back of the space. There were also a LOT of bottles on the counter behind the bar. I don't know if it is always like this, but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would definitely go back for the drink and to show it off to friends.

If you love craft cocktails, this place is for you. I got one of their drinks which was a tequila espresso martini. I haven't tried tequila in an espresso martinis before but loved it. Our server was quick and friendly! Had a great evening with some friends.

I've given Bistango multiple chances over the years because I enjoy the atmosphere and want to…read moresupport local Spokane businesses, but unfortunately the customer service has been consistently disappointing. Most recently, on a Friday evening around 7 PM, my party was seated near the end of the bar by the restroom area. A server approached me in a confrontational manner and told me to move my chair because it was blocking the walkway. I immediately complied and moved it where he directed. Despite that, he repeatedly pushed and squeezed past the chair in an aggressive way several times afterward and then returned to confront me about it again. The interaction felt hostile, unnecessary, and unprofessional. Unfortunately, this wasn't an isolated incident. On a previous visit, a female server was rude and controlling toward our table, and on another occasion when we were unhappy with a menu item, the response was essentially, "You ordered it, you pay for it," with no attempt to address the concern professionally. The atmosphere is great, which is why we've continued to come back. However, after several visits involving rude and confrontational interactions with staff, it feels more like an ongoing culture issue than a one-time bad experience. I don't expect special treatment, but I do expect basic courtesy and respect. Hopefully management takes these concerns seriously and works to improve the customer experience.

The ambience is low-key quiet and dark, and the people are friendly and ready to serve you. I started with an old-fashioned to drink and ordered the chicken schnitzel. It smelled amazing when we first walked in and we were immediately greeted and seated. Service was amazing! It was fast and efficient and our waitress made the process smooth and fast. We got two apps, the flatbread and the loaded deviled eggs. The devil eggs were creamy topped with smoky bacon and a pungent parm crisp. It was lovely! The filling was smooth and the smokiness of the bacon cut the richness of the filling. The parm added a wonderfully taste as well as added a interesting texture. The star of the apps was definitely the flatbread though. It was a soft bread with a sweetness chili based topped with bacon, peppers, and onions! It was delicious! The sweetness paired with the bacon was brilliant! I got the shrimp pasta! The sauce was beautiful and the shrimp were juicy and cooked perfectly. The wine was cooked off wonderfully leaving just a hint of flavor with none of the bitterness. The burger was juicy and the cheese was wonderfully meaty. The bun was fresh and bouncy. The veg were fresh and while we weren't ask how we wanted the meat cooked (my sister is very picky) it was cooked to her liking. The least strongest dish was the schnitzel. The meat was crispy, but honestly lacked flavor. The potatoes were also mashed with chucks which I just don't prefer and it also has skin still so...

Their menu is very interesting, it definitely tells a new American story with a lot of influence, but holds traditional to a new American style. The service is incredible. Everyone seems so happy and alive. Every single thing that we got was perfect. The port flight was quite a steal at $20. We were excited to try some different items, but were even more thrilled when it came out with some amazing chocolate. The bread puffs that come before the meal are to die for, and we got a taquito appetizer that was super filling, fresh, vibrant, and a little unique too. I wish we didn't live all the way across the country! This is a must stop in Spokane for a lovely and memorable meal.
