My wife and I work otr as truck drivers and found this place after some folks at a hotel told us about it. Nothing on the menu is a miss and I mean NOTHING. This time we went all the way and ordered lobster rolls and fresh cut fries and let me tell you what..........Just order the largest lobster roll and don't look back. Rather than apologizing for their cook openly yelling at a group of customers who spent $500, management has chosen to report my review and make excuses about needing "reservations" for a food truck. Being busy does not excuse verbal hostility. Multiple people in our group of 10 left reviews because we all experienced the same unacceptable behavior. Future traveling groups beware: if you order a lot of food here, expect great food but a side of absolute hostility from the kitchen--and an owner who will defend it. ---- Original Review - I was part of the group of 10 that stopped by this spot recently before heading to the airport (which is conveniently just 5 minutes away). It is truly a shame to leave a 1-star review because the food itself was excellent, and the lady taking our orders up front was incredibly sweet and accommodating. When we placed our order, she kindly informed us that the food would be coming out in batches, which we completely understood and were happy to accommodate. However, the entire experience was soured by the cook in the back. As we went up to pick up our food batches, he began making audible, angry comments from the kitchen--clearly directed at us as customers and explicitly meant for us to hear. When we later politely checked in on the remainder of the order, he openly yelled and cursed at my friends, visibly angry that a large group had ordered food. I have personally worked in high-paced, high-stress environments--including busy retail and fast paced healthcare--so I understand firsthand how overwhelming a sudden "surge" can be. But professional composure is essential. We weren't upset about a 25-minute wait for a large, $500 order--we were happy to wait for good, fresh food. The issue was the verbal and open hostility from the kitchen. If you are traveling in a group to or from the airport, be aware that simply being hungry and ordering food might be treated as a major inconvenience here. It was a very disappointing end to an otherwise joyous group trip. The Lobstah Buoy is absolutely the best. Lobster rolls come in 3 sizes and no frozen lobster here. Fries are fresh and crisp. Cole slaw is homemade. Prices are reasonable. These folks work hard. They work until the food runs out and then go home to prepare more by hand. Wasn't sure what to expect from a food truck along a big parking lot, seemingly in the "middle of nowhere" on our road trip. Happy we went! We got the 1/2 pound lobster roll (served cold) for $56 and it came with crispy fries and coleslaw. Staff were nice and expedient, even though we arrived 15 mins prior to closing. There were picnic tables next to the food truck with umbrellas to enjoy the lobster rolls and trash cans for easy disposal. They also played some music which was nice. read more

Was in town for work was told to check this place out. It's a food truck and you have to eat outside on picnic tables. Hopefully you go when it's not too warm out. My colleagues and I got there right before the lunch rush and we of course got lobster rolls. They were both quarter pound size. The chunks were huge inside the role. I highly recommend this place if you're coming into town. The shoestring fries were also very tasty. They come with the rolls. For someone not from Maine these were excellent and highly recommended. Don't blink or you will miss it! The Buoy is a lobster truck which sits a stone throw of 95. While the truck doesn't offer more than picnic tables the food will leave you feeling like you just dined at a five star establishment. Service is quick and staff is friendly. After checking out the Cole Transportation Museum (see my review!) my wife was in the mood for some Fish and Chips. The Lobstah Buoy was nearby and got good ratings according to you Yelpers, so we gave it a go. I should have paid a little more attention about the place, as it's located in a parking lot for the Bangor FunPlex & Cinema movie theatre, and has some picnic tables set outside to eat. It's not necessarily a food truck, but a big food trailer. We parked and checked out the menu board on the ground. After a few seconds, I ordered the clam belly dinner large size (1/2 lb vs 1/4 lb) which came with fries and coleslaw. Wife had the fish and chips which also came with the same. Within a few minutes, we had our food. It was quite good. I asked for the fries to be well done and they were. Shoestring cut, and pretty crispy. The clams with bellies hit the spot. I've only had clams with bellies in Maine, and with the lemon wedge drizzled on them really made them pop. I wish we had some hot cocktail sauce. The coleslaw was mayo based and very tasty without a lot of mayo mixed in. My wife's fish and chips were also good with pieces of nicely breaded fish and the same crispy fries. I didn't ask, but we got ketchup and tartar sauce with the food. She overall said it was just fine, but this may be because we were not ready to have to sit outside on a picnic table. The two Pepsi product (boooo) sodas rounded out the meal. Overall, we were pleased with our food and service. If we were still hungry, we were going to tackle the lobster roll. Didn't have to. $50 for the fish and chips, large belly clam dinner, and two sodas. I will also say that as we ate, the number of people coming into the parking lot to buy food was nonstop, and most had Maine license plates. So if the locals like it, I bet you will, too. We arrived here to the very unassuming parking lot where this food truck takes residence. There are picnic tables to sit at. I love lobster, I mean it's one of my favorite foods. The day we went to eat, it was cold and very windy. I also was just so excited to eat I did not realize that their lobster roll is cold. I generally do not like cold lobster rolls. But I can tell you even in the freezing cold, while my hand froze and being a cold roll, it was the most delicious lobster roll I have had in a long time. And the amount of meat you get actually matches what the sign says. Would go back here in a second. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! This place is well worth stopping at. This was my husband and my 1st time in Maine. A couple of locals recommend we stop here for lunch, and we are sure glad we did. We stopped by here on our road trip. Among other lobster rolls we had in Maine, this one is slightly better because it is not overly drowned in mayonnaise. I'm staying down the street @ Holiday Inn & this was highly recommended by the staff. Let me just tell ya it was awesome. Every time I'm in Maine I try to sniff out a good lobster roll & this didn't let me down. The lobster was nice and juicy with just a hint of butter that wasn't overpowering and the same goes for the Mayo. The fries were actually good as well. They put in a pickle spear and slaw. They had a drink there I've never seen before called Moxie that was awesome & once I get back to Orlando I'm going to see if I can locate some. Plenty parking here the place is a food shack in the parking lot of a movie theater. it is a pretty laid back eating experience. The shack is right next door from the Fairfield hotel so it is within walking distance, but keep in mind that they close at 6pm and also if they run out of lobster u will be out of luck for the day, they do have lines sporadically so chances are high that they will run out of lobster. They have picnic tables outside so we can eat right there, the staff is super nice and they also take credit cards which is super convenient The menu is posted right next to the ordering window, and seems like most if not all meals cone with fries, a pickle and coleslaw. They oddly only give a couple of napkins and that was annoying to me, once you order at the window they call u by the name when it is ready and the meal comes in a to go style in a bag with plastic utensils and ketchup, but the one or two napkins was not something I loved. MOXIE- this is a soda made only here, I got it to try and I did not like it at all, if you are a fan of root beer then this is a soda for you, but for me it was not a match QUARTER POUDER LOBSTER ROLL- only one roll with a very straightforward name, the side of fries needed a bit more salt and the lobster was a bit too blend too for my taste, but that is just me. I loved the size of the pieces of lobster though. the roll was nice and buttery too. CRAB ROLL- came back for dinner and they were out of lobster so I got the crab roll, well it does not compare to the lobster, the crab was a little dry and very blend, needed a lot of salt for sure. I would not recommend eating the crab here. In summary, this is a nice place to visit and try if you are around as the prices are a little more affordable than a restaurant in the area and you will still get that Maine lobster. I did learn here that the lobster in Maine is not cheaper compared to other states but easier to find for sure. The only negatives in my opinion were the napkins availability and the salt should be also available, but beyond that this was a good place. read more

The Lobster Buoy Food Truck is located directly across from Tim Horton'sin the Bangor FunPlex & Cinema building parking lot. There is PLENTY of parking & the food truck is clearly visible from the road. There a whiteboard with the daily menu in front of the food truck offering mainly Seafood items like lobster or crab salad, fried whole belly clams, scallops, fish n chips, & baby shrimp. They do have cheeseburgers & hot dogs for the landlubber & kids. They offer a selection of drinks from bottled water, Gatorade, Moxie, root beer, ice tea, diet & regular Pepsi. They have FABULOUS Classic rock tunes emanating from the interior kitchen! The woman there took my order quickly & was friendly, polite, & courteous. I ordered the quarter lb lobster roll with fries. It took all of 10 minutes! They give you a lunch bag with a side of Cole slaw, plastic utensils, ketchup packets & napkins. The roll was lightly buttered and toasted which was perfect & the lobster was tossed lightly in Mayo & piled high on the bun with some shredded ice berg lettuce. They also give you a large dill pickle spear & a fresh wedge of lemon. The lobster was Super FRESH & it was overall delicious. The fries were good but weren't as hot & fresh as I had hoped. The place does a steady business. There were 5-6 cars waiting in line for food. The Lobster Buoy is a great little casual lobster roll & fried seafood option in the Bangor Maine area! Lobster rolls came in 3 sizes and all came with fries. So first off - I'm from away. This is a Maine term used to describe anyone not from Maine. I am a resident of Maine, but I wasn't born here, and therefore, I am 'from away'. But I have had my share of lobster and lobster rolls. This was easily the in the top 2. It was on a top-split hotdog roll (I think they're called yankee rolls, maybe?) and I am not exaggerating when I said, I inhaled the thing. It was perfection. And the fries, THE FRIES!!!! I'm not a big french fry person. I think they're kind of boring, in general. But these fries were amazing. I will definitely be returning and bringing everyone who visits with me. First stop for lobster as we drove through Maine to Acadia. Wow!!! I'm picky with my lobster because as a kid, we'd catch lobster fresh out of the ocean and eat it that night so it has to be fresh for me to give the okay!! (Call me spoiled ) This food trailer is in a cinema parking lot but very fresh and delicious. They had Some picnic tables for people to eat at. Coleslaw was also amazing! Fries , perfect.
