I have zero complaints. I was hungry. We got the pot sticker appetizers, which were so very good. I wanted to try all the fish so I got "The Fishmonger", which was cod, walleye and perch. Everything was very lightly breaded, not greasy, not crunchy, just delicious fish flavor. The potato pancakes came on their separate little plate and were very thick and could have used more flavor like maybe onion powder. They served true marble rye with a salted crust, but very tiny pieces. The cole slaw was fresh, but plain, no seasoning. This is a very popular and crowded place, so be prepared for that. Service was quick and servers were polite and friendly. It was a pretty loud place, making conversation difficult. I really thought the food was tasty and would like to come back and try other items.

LOUD Been here several times, and that is the one thing that is what we remember. And this last time we came on a Friday night at 9:00. It is always loud, and the server confirmed that as well. Now it's loud because people there are having a good time. It's a bar that serves food, and pretty good food it is. It's just that for us, it's too loud to be comfortable. (I used a Phone App to measure, and the average noise level was 82 dB, which is similar to loud singing). The place was about 3/4 full when we got there. People around the bar, and most of the tables were filled. We got a spot back in the corner. Our server got to us right away, and filled us up with cocktails. My Elijah Craig Old Fashioned was very good. We ordered the Perch Fish Fry and the Wine-O Burger. It didn't take too long to get the food. All of which was hot, tasty, and good portions. The potato pancakes could have been cooked more (even after we asked for more crispy). The Smash Burger was good as well, with a good portion of wine sauteed onions. Plenty of fries. For people that don't mind the noise level, and party atmosphere, this is a good choice. Just not a place that we are likely to return too.

This place is run by the owners of the Hale House in Haley's Corners before it burned. There are 14 tables of 2 or 4 persons and a large horse shoe bar that seats 15 or 16 persons. When we got there at 5:30 on a Friday night there was no place to park close, and I had to walk about 300 yards to the south where I parked in a school parking lot that was done for the evening. The hostess told us we had a er minute wait and took our cell phone number to alert us when it was our turn. Almost to the minute, we were texted to sit down at a table. We perused the menus while waiting for our server , Morgan. There were 4 or 5 servers helping each other. We ordered a fish monger item of walleye, perch and cod (two of each, long with coleslaw and fries and small pieces of rye bread and butter. There were kitchen split the huge order into two plates which was more than we two could eat and it was cooked to perfection and tasty. It was worth the wait, but we would try to get there earlier to reduce the wait time.

First time here. It doesn't look very big or fancy from the outside, but it's what's on the inside that counts! Super cute and clean inside. There are tables and a bar. The food was yummy. The pizza is really cheesy so bring your lactaid because it's very yummy. The burger was nice, fresh and tasty. Our waitress (can't remember her name, young, long brown? hair ) was so sweet and friendly. We really appreciated her wonderful service. Definitely would recommend giving this little place a try.

So local We've had two recent visits. Tried to stop over a year ago but had a long wait. Anyways, what a fantastic spot in the oddest location. Definitely the go to for New Berlin and Muskego folk. Solid eats, started with the curds and had the fish fry on both stops. Great service and a nice selection of drinks. Didn't feel rushed at all, noise level is not too bad, even with a full house. Need to try some other menu items but the fish is just so good!

Wow the biggest and lightest fresh pretzel with specialty cheese such as beer, raspberry and everything bagel! Big enough for 4 people. Friendly and great service too!

A night out with friends worth writing about! A Chinese staple on a pizza, bourbon hunters foundation in a sour, and a slice of cake that will provide three nights satisfaction for the most demanding sweet tooth! The Crab Rangoon pizza, an oriental appetizer on an Italian staple, who would have imagined...so good. The Buffalo Trace Sour, a real challenger for the traditional Wisconsin old fashion, you will not have just one! And finally, the red velvet cake (to go) will absolutely end up on your social media timeline..it is a surprise you need to witness for yourself. This is a must visit, if it is a weekend night you will be challenged for a parking spot, and the late wait is worthy of at least one Buffalo Trace Sour.

Took my grandfather to lunch on a week day (He loves their sister restaurant The Hale House) and had my 2 year old with me on top of it. The service staff was amazingly attentive and kind to both my child and grandfather. The space is small and bare. I do wish the place had a little more of an identity. It is in the middle of a residential neighborhood hence the name "The Local" which is nice. It has its own parking lot also. I had the Buffalo Trace sour to start as a drink and it was ok, but not amazing. We ordered burgers, prime rib sandwich, Nashville chicken sandwich, and a chicken wrap. We had fries and a side salad. All of the food was very good and the portion sizes are large. The side salad had very few lettuce leaves in it and was primarily a pile of cut onion and olives. This was the only gripe I had. We will be back!

This time it was a Sunday evening. Not that busy. A few people at the bar, and two other tables of people. Got seated right away. Waters, and menus were close behind. Ordered several cocktails and a beer. My Poloma was good, but nothing special. We ordered a Wisconsin Pub Burger, Smoked Brisket Sandwich and a cup of minestrone soup. Didn't take to long for the food to come out. Everything appeared to be freshly made, good temperatures, and the portions were generous. That sandwiches were both good. The burger was medium-rare as ordered and well constructed. Great taste. The fries were hot, and had the right amount of salt. The brisket sandwich was good, but the meat was skimpy for the size of the bun. The soup was good. Not much impressed with the service. There was one person running several tables. Felt like they were new and didn't know much about the menu items or the drinks. Did check on us once after serving our food, but that was it. Had to flag them down for another drink, extra napkins and the bill. A good experience, but nothing that inspired us to want to come back soon.

There were several other small groups eating inside. Food: For lunch, I got the bulgogi, along with purple rice, mandu (dumplings), and mashed sweet potato salad. My wife got the honey garlic chicken, japchae, and sesame slaw. There were some really good parts and some that were disappointing and underwhelming. For starters, the hot (temperature) entrées weren't really hot. I would say everything was warm. It looked like they were keeping things fresh by only having a small amount in the warming trays, and maybe we got the last of it before another batch was made. Both of the main entrées had great flavor. The bulgogi was very tender, and the marinade flavors were delicious. The honey garlic chicken was also very good, but again suffered from only being warm. The mashed sweet potato salad was a nice surprise and was chilled nicely. The mandu (dumplings) were a bit bland and really needed a bit of soy sauce to add interest. Service: All of the folks who took care of us were very pleasant. They did a great job welcoming us as soon as we entered. We were unsure about some of the items, and they explained them clearly and gave us time to decide. You can order from a list of standard combinations or customize with a starch, protein, and sides. Easy peasy. Genuine smiles, and we felt appreciated. Atmosphere: The place is located in a small strip mall, with lots of natural light coming in through the large front windows. There are several tables and high-tops in the front, with additional tables toward the rear. It's easy to figure out where to go to order. The paper menus and menu board are easy to read, and there are placards that describe what you're looking at. If I came back, I would definitely get the bulgogi again and would just hope that it and the other items were served at a better temperature.

During nice weather you can grab a seat outside and look over the water. They even provide pontoon rides during the warmer months (great way to enjoy a drink while you wait for your table). In the last several years they have gone through some significant renovations, especially with the outside seating areas. There is the restaurant on the first floor, and an event space on the second floor. Made 6:30 reservations for Wednesday for 4, and got right in. Had a table by the large windows that look for the patio and lake. Very pretty spot. Got greeted immediately by our server, who did a great job the entire evening. (thanks Laura). Got us water, took our drink order, along with an order for Onion Rings. The onion rings didn't take long, and they were excellent. Crispy with an interesting texture, hot, and served with a side of ranch (could have used more of that). The drinks were good, with the exception of one glass of a beer flight which was super flat, and was happily replaced by the server. For entrees we got: BLT, Blacked Fish Tacos (with extra bacon), Pesto Encrusted Salmon, and Salmon Power Salad. A note about the Pesto "Encrusted" Salmon. It's not really "encrusted", more like a scoop of pesto placed on top of the Salmon, and they finished under a broiler? Good but not what was expected. Didn't take that long for the food to arrive. It was all very good. The tacos were fresh, great flavor and hot. The fries that came with it, were NOT as not as I would like. Both grilled salmon entrees were also very good. The Power Bowl was excellent, with lots of fresh greens and other yummy add ins (goat cheese, blueberries, etc) A very good evening, with the exception of a couple of small hiccups.

The salsa looked horrible because it was a purée but to my surprise it was the most flavorful part of my lunch with a nice garlic flavor. The strawberry margarita was above average because it had booze in it and a deep strawberry flavor that screamed strawberry, thank you. With only my order in the kitchen my food came very quick, the place was empty. I ordered the combination plate with a first for me, chicken in Mexican food for some reason. I had a ground beef taco, chicken enchilada and al pastor tostada with rice/beans. Although the food was good it was Americanized, bland and not seasoned. All the meats were moist I must say. It was very good, and the marinara it was served with added that extra little zing. For my meal, I got the Sampler, which is walleye, perch, and cod.It comes with tartar sauce, cole slaw, rye bread, and your choice of potatoes. I chose fries. I don't eat cole slaw, but the rest of the plate was delicious and very filling. The fishes were all breaded with the perfect amount and fried to a perfect golden brown. I, personally, would have preferred a bit more creamier tartar sauce, but it was good. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, just like they should be. Hubs got the walleye plate with potato pancakes, but said that the fries were better. On our second visit, we went on a Saturday night. Hubs wanted the prime rib. I chose the Jaeger Schnitzel and had a Mary Pickford as my cocktail. Hubs said the cocktail was perfect, but I thought it was too heavy on the rum. It's made with Bacardi, not my favorite, and I thought I would taste more pineapple. The meal starts off with your choice of soup or salad, and we both chose the soup. It was tomato soup with chicken and rice tonight, but it does change daily. I'm not a fan of tomato soup, but this was delicious! The chiken and rice were both thoroughly cooked to a nice level of softness. The Jaeger Schnitzel (pork) was pounded thin and evenly breaded with a nice coating that formed a uniform crust. It was topped with a mushroom gravy, which I wish there had been just a little bit more of. Overall, it was very nice. The plate comes with a healthy side of red cabbage and spaetzle. Both were good, but Melanie L. nailed it....I couldn't place the herbal taste of the cabbage until my husband referred me to her review. It was definitely cloves. I didn't think it was heavy handed, but just enough that you could definitely taste it. As for the spaetzle, it could have used a little bit of salt. I let it soak up some of the juice from the cabbage to compensate, and that worked fine. When you order dinner, you get a small relish tray and a basket of rolls and breadsticks. I didn't eat much of that, because I didn't want to get filled up before my actual dinner arrived. That being said, I made it through, but I was STUFFED. If you are a big eater, you probably would have been fine, but I just can't eat a lot in one go. FYI, they do have boxes, if you need to take something home. I had never been to Wegman's, so I can't compare the two, but I can say that Ricky's is definitely doing something right. It has been busy on both of the nights I visited, but service was attentive, efficient, and the timing was excellent between dishes. Our servers were friendly and helpful with recomendations when asked. We will definitely be back. 129/2025
