I had lost the keys to my mailbox and needed to get the lock replaced ASAP. My wife and I spoke with Chris over the phone and he was very professional. He offered to give us a price for replacing the lock over the phone provided that we sent him a picture of the lock. The following day I called him back and sent him a picture and he quoted me a price of $95.00 + tax for the new lock. He was able to get somebody out that morning in order to accommodate my tight schedule. Within an hour I got a call from Mike who said he would be there in 20 minutes. Sure, enough Mike showed up in 20 minutes and was able to remove the old install the new lock and had everything cleaned up in about 15 mins. While I was waiting for Mike I noticed that there was a $10.00 offer posted on Yelp. I told Mike and he honored the price discount and the total price was reduced to $85.00 + tax on the new lock. People make stupid mistakes, and yesterday...I was sadly one of those people--I was jogging in Westwood and somehow between starting the run and finishing it, I lost my car keys somewhere along the way. Needless to say, I was in a major panic as it was the only key to my car. I called multiple companies and was near tears when the toyota santa monica dealership told me that I would need to tow my car ($200) AND pay $380 for the key. I was SO SO SO lucky to have come across the Locksmith Guys in a last attempt. Mike drove out with his white van of amazing gadgets (like a knight in shining armor on a white steed) and came to my rescue. Chris and Mike did a great job getting my locks rekeyed, in a timely and professional manner. Literally, they showed up and rekeyed my lock within a hour of my phone call. I called numerous companies, but felt like I trusted them on the phone. They showed up promptly to my rental house and my tenant was very satisfied with their work. A problem arose which they handled professionally--I had specifically asked for a quote over the phone. I was told I would be charged $65 for the service call and the rekeying. When they arrived, my tenant had installed weather stripping which changed the fit of the door. They had repaired the strike plate on the spot, which added another $30 to my bill. When I called to complain about the additional charge, they removed it since I had not authorized it. I appreciate this, and hope others will use this reliable and honest business. Highly satisfied. Had a great experience with The Locksmith Guys. Chris was accommodating and scheduled the appointment I needed right away. He gave me the best prices out of the several services that I had found on yelp and called for quotes. The technician, Danny, was also great. They took care of 7 locks for me, a new latch mechanism, several new keys and I bought a few padlocks all for well under $300. I had a major brain-fade after installation and called Chris to tell him that while I was very pleased, one of my old keys was opening one of the new locks. He sent Danny back and he was able to show me that the lock was opening with the old key because it was UNLOCKED. Duhhhhh. Once I actually locked the door everything worked just right. Go figure. Lost my keys and decided to get an additional door lock as well as copy three other lost keys. Locksmith Guys recommended by a neighbor. I saw the great Yelp reviews and was skeptical they are really THAT good. Well, they are. I spoke with Chris, the Sales Manager and asked if it would be cheaper if I purchased my own lock. He said, yes, for sure. I did so and then called back to schedule after ascertaining his price was lower than a competitor. Yesterday, Mike arrived right on schedule. He is cheerful, bright and oh so competent. He installed my key pad lock first. Then he re-keyed my Honda car key, as well as making 3 additional keys on premises, all done flawlessly. After a terrible experience with another company, I called the Locksmith Guys. By this point I was convinced that all locksmiths are crooks. I was hesitant and skeptical of hiring another company, but the job had to get done. The locksmith that was sent out was great! I explained my situation and he was very understanding. He explained everything he was going to do ahead of time and even quoted me an accurate amount. He was also able to explain what had happened to me with the other company. He was able to rekey the entire house for $160 when the other company was trying to charge me $600!!! This was over a year ago, I should have written my review right away. I was surprised that I was able to get replacements car keys for $50-60 less than what others were quoting. I had left lost my car keys at my college graduation the night before; I needed to get my car asap the next day before it was towed! I was visiting from San Francisco last Sunday and lost my motorcycle key somewhere outside Dodger Stadium before the game. Mike showed up on a Sunday afternoon only about a couple hours after I called (which I consider great response time). The gas cap assembly (which is what they cut the key from on a motorcycle) was a bear to get off, but Mike kept at it for the better part of an hour until it finally came off. My new keys were cut shortly after and I was good to go. It cost $165 and I tipped him out $25 because you really don't expect to have that kind of service on a Sunday afternoon. Plus Mike was a great guy and very friendly and professional. It was great to get that kind of service on a day when I thought I might be walking back to SF. I hope you don't get in a jam like I did, but if you do, these are the guys to call. Note: Make sure to call the number on their website and let them know that you did so. I called a different locksmith on Yelp first and made an appt - for $75 more than it cost me to have these guys do it. Excellent, professional and most importantly, honest and reasonably priced. I called them after seeing these favorable Yelp reviews. I had a sticky Baldwin lock which is a tricky mechanism to fix. They were able to come out the next day and quoted me $125. After fixing the lock, they actually gave me a discount and charged me only $115. The technician was on time, super nice, and even educated me about locks. Only complaint is that I had requested they call me 30 min before arriving because I did not want to wait at the location during my entire appointment window and they forgot to do that. I have recently moved into a townhome in Santa Monica and wanted to have all my locks replaced. I called and talked to Chris on the phone who quoted me exactly how much they would charge per cylinder. They were available to come out that day but I had other obligations so they came out the following day. A team member named Danny came out to my townhome and I showed him exactly what I wanted replaced. He gave me his recommendations as to what should be done and gave me the amount that was quoted to me by Chris the previous day. He was very knowledgeable and very good at what he did, as I have some doors that were rather tricky. He did the job wonderfully, and was nice and knowledgeable at the same time. The price was half of what another service charged me! The price with The Locksmith Guys was a good one, given that I needed five door locks changed, one of which required placing a new deadlock in place. Wow. After years of being locked out and charged through the nose for simple work, The Locksmith Guys really opened my eyes to what good service is. Mike came out in under 15 minutes, and instead of replacing locks which I thought needed replacing, he suggested we just fix and rekey the ones we already had. My car is ... special. Not in an awesome way but in a needy way. It is not my forever car, it's just my for-now car. But living in LA, even a special needy car is better than no car at all. It's a 99 Saturn SL1 5 speed, all stock. That means no auto locks and no auto windows (I really don't remember that being so damn annoying back in the days when we all had to roll our windows down by hand and unlock each door individually). Anyway, I bought it used and abused and realized shortly after that this poor thing must have been taken on many a joy ride. Each lock from the trunk to the four doors to the bane of my existence...the ignition...has a temper from being mistreated in the past. The ignition is the funnest. How I have to jiggle that thing until I find the sweet spot. Sometimes it takes me a minute, sometimes much much longer. I only had a single worn down key that finally took all the jiggling it could handle and broke in half. Now I needed someone to make a copy of this poor worn down sad little broken key. So I called the Locksmith Guys...after calling about two dozen other places. Why did I choose them? First of all they were the most pleasant and confident on the phone. First impressions mean the world to a consumer like my self. You act like a douche on the phone I'm hanging up. Talk like a zombie who could care less about my problem on the phone, I'm hanging up. Don't have anyone who speaks English (or is fluent enough to understand) at your shop, I'm hanging up. That last one is just because I only speak English so yes, that will lose you business in my case. Second of all, they quoted me the fairest price. What can I say? A plethora of impersonal jerks quote me $200, $300, $400 while the nicest and most confident matter of fact guys quote me less than $100? Yeah, it's a no brainer. So I made an appt for the next morning and Mike came out right on time. I explained how my ignition and all my locks are "special-needs". He was not fazed. He made me three copies, enough to get the one that would work in my special-needs ignition. He also showed me how to insert the key, then take it out just a tiny bit before actually turning...and to my delight and surprise...Viola!! I no longer need to jiggle my key to get it started!! He knew what he was doing and knew the trick to save me hours of frustration. And he only charged me $95 for the labor and expertise and the front door service. Wow. A+ service all the way. Thank you Mike!! And thank you Locksmith Guys!! I will only come to you guys from here on out whenever I have a lock issue and I will recommend you to anyone I can.
