The place was clean as well, but we're hoping for some improvements before going back.

The best thing Nomz has going for it is its colorful logo - best to avoid for food.

We had tickets to an event at EJ Thomas for a concert and wanted to have a meal beforehand. We reached out on Facebook and Yelp to ask for restaurant referrals in the Akron area and the response was pretty unanimous, "The Lockview". We ordered appetizers and entrees for five. Perhaps it was just our first-time luck that the service was fair. Appetizers were served, but 45 minutes after we were finished we had to inquire about our meal. Meal came, and no utensils. Manager was nice enough to take some money off the bill without us even asking, so we believe they acknowledged the problem. Everyone enjoyed the food, so my rating was based on that, but we were rushed at this point and couldn't enjoy the meal. They specialize in grilled cheese sandwiches and their specialty is mac and cheese. The servings were all very generous and the price was under $10 each entree. I would recommend the place for their food, but I can't help but say I was very disappointed, as this was a special occasion for our family. read more

Awesome grilled cheese sandwiches and a huge beer selection... that's all you really need in a restaurant, right? There's so many beers to choose from here and it's all written up on a big chalkboard behind the bar. It's so hard to choose what to get, they probably have hundreds of choices. Then there's the food, the sandwiches are so good. They're served with little umbrellas and goldfish crackers on the side. I mean what restaurant puts goldfish crackers with sandwiches? Weird, yes. But it works! The only thing I have bad to say about this place is it's too small. There's booths on the side and big tables in the middle and it's just really hard to get around inside this place. It gets pretty packed which makes it even harder. I've only been here in the wintertime but apparently in the summer you can go up on the rooftop and it's really cool. The most unbelievable bar you'll come across on Main Street! I really thought my eyes were deceiving me when I walked in. The place is literally as big as a walk-in closet! But something about those close quarters on a chilly night was very comforting. Maybe it was the leg-cuddle I was forced to do with the cute guy on a date with an ugly girl (believe me, he was having more fun with my leg). The owners/bartenders are great guys. They were regulars of the place and after tallying more than 1000 hrs, they decided to buy it! How do I know? They have a time-clock and all the true regulars can get one to keep track. What a great time I had with my all my friends Friday night celebrating my Birthday! From the kind greeting of the door guy to our wonderful server Taylore, She was fast to point out new seasonal beers (I'm such a beer snob lol) and the vibe and cool music they play. As a recent career change moving to Akron from Georgia this place has it going on and Jumping! I'm looking forward to checking out their rooftop beer garden. Lockview is one of the places to go for a bite to eat if you are in downtown Akron. They have one of the largest, and best selections of beers I've seen anywhere. Even though I'm lactose intolerant, I'd gladly take the pain for another one of their grilled cheese sandwiches, which by the way they have a zillion to choose from. I believe they added a patio upstairs so it's not quite as crowded on Friday nights and weekends. The service can be hit or miss as with any restaurant, but the food and beer are always on point! read more
