7/12/23 I stayed here for one night with my friend and her 2 kids on our 8k mile road trip. This hotel was great but there were some odd things that were noticed. One of the towels were stained, but thankfully the front desk personnel fixed that issue. With this hotel being considered a higher end type, there were limited amenities, like no toiletries like you'd expect from a place like this. Thankfully I never use those products but I do save them to donate. It just surprised me. The breakfast was Mediocre as most hotels. The best part about that was the pop cakes machine that made pancakes. That machine was pretty neat. Overall, it was a good experience, but maybe spruce up the rooms with something nice. It would be a lot more memorable.

Conveniently located at the base of the mountain of Big Sky, the lodge is a hop, skip and a jump from the slopes. This was a huge draw for us! The great things about this hotel are: it has options for two queen beds in one room (we got this!) which is perfect. Proximity to the slopes. It can't be beat. Plus, they have shuttles that operate 8:30-10:30 and then 2:30-4:30. This is convenient so you don't have to trek far in your boots. However, they also have lockers in the village (base camp area) you can use to store your sneakers in to wear after if you are going at an off peak time for shuttle ($12/day) which is a nice perk. Hot tubs are lovely. They have 3 outdoors and one indoors and they also have a pool. I used the indoor hot tub and it was nice. Not as hot as hot tubs I've been in and the jets didn't seem too strong. The first outdoor hot tub outside has strong jets, however. That felt great after a day on the slopes attempting to ski, ha! Breakfast!!! This is huge. Hot breakfast which includes: scrambled eggs, bacon, pancake maker, bagels with a toaster, cereal, and also pastries. A very legit breakfast before a day on the slopes. Cons: our bathroom had this gross stain right on the wall near the light switch. It was absolutely nasty. Looked like blood. Was it? Not sure. An area of improvement is cleanliness. Please clean the rooms High use areas well. It was very off-putting and disgusting every time to see this. Beds: super cozy. Tv channel options: TONS!!! This was a definite bonus. It was great after a tough run to relax and watch a little tv. All in all, we will be back. We look forward to coming here for years to come. But please clean the high use areas. Thank you!

[856] I really enjoyed this lodge. It's not huge (4 floors). Plenty of free parking. The staff is REALLY nice and helpful. Our room was HUGE which included two beds, TV, microwave, fridge, and sink. I didn't see a safe. The bathroom was really nice and the kitchen area had a table with chairs. Our view of the mountain was amazing. There is a pool and 3 outdoor hot tubs. I didn't get in the pool because the hot tubs are outside and felt amazing in the 20 degree cold. There is a firepit with tons of free smores (ask for them at the front desk). Free Starbucks coffee, hot chocolate and ice water right by the front desk. Free breakfast buffet which was eh but did the trick. There is a bar area which was cute and can be cool for hanging out. There is a lobby area which everyone hung out in since there were cozy chairs near the fireplace. Tons of board games in the chest. They also had a small store for basic items. This lodge was in walking distance of many stores and eateries. I do not think the lodge had a restaurant. I would DEFINITELY be back.

I feel like everything could've been a bit nicer. Toilet paper was super thin and scratchy. Same with tissues. There was no skirting on our beds and it was the first thing you noticed walking into our room. I did notice another room and the beds were well made in that room so maybe it was not the normal. Our sink did not drain well. Other than that I think the lobby was nice. Breakfast was basic but it was all that I needed. Nice to always have coffee, tea and hot chocolate in the lobby. Staff very friendly.

At first, I didn't like that The Lodge was farther from the main village, but it ended up being only a five minute walk to where we needed to go.

All the lights need to be turned on manually, and even when they are all on it still seems dark. There are no black out shades....so, boom, you get to wake up to full light...no sleeping in here. Every tithe neighbors close the door it makes a slamming noise that goes straight to your bones. Small television inside a wooden cabinet. The shower has some kind of cheese cloth curtain that absorbs then drops all the water on the ground, leaving puddles behind. The bathroom even has a sign telling you to put a towel on the ground. Long story short, updates are needed. I won't go through all the shortcomings of this place, I'll just say it seems a bit expensive for what you get. On the bright side the reception people are very nice and the morning continental breakfast us good enough. It's within walking distance of local restaurants. WE COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE PLEASED. Here's what we loved. (1.) We felt like we were really out in the wilderness, instead of a corporate thing disguised as glamping. (2.) The setting was jaw-droppingly beautiful. (3.) Our tent was comfortably and exquisitely outfitted. (4.) We had wonderful privacy and yet the staff was very available, pleasant and accommodating, and (5) The food was really delicious - not too fussy, just really good. The only thing I would suggest is that you request a graphic map with visual markers, mileage, etc., as we felt a little lost the entire time we were trying to get to the site. The staff was very nice in helping us via phone, but we would have arrived more relaxed if we'd been more confident in the route. We will definitely use The Yellowstone Collective Retreat again. Our tent was amazing - very well designed, a comfortable bed, and a beautiful short walk to get to it. Also the food here was great. There's a chef that cooks breakfast (included), and a four-course meal for dinner (extra). Both were excellent. Also as first-time visitors to Big Sky, MT, the staff was extremely helpful in getting us to the best restaurants and nature activities. Everyone working there was extremely nice. However, they seemed understaffed, which obviously isn't the workers fault - they were trying very hard to keep up with interacting with us and the other guests. For such a high-end place otherwise, with a high-end price, I think Collective Retreats should hire more workers.
