We stayed at The Lodge for 3 nights in early October. Rates were reasonable for the near peak foliage season. Jackson is a quieter town compared to North Conway. There aren't as many restaurants around. But the few around the area are very good. I particularly like the Red Fox Bar and Grille that is only half a mile from the hotel. This hotel's location is better than North Conway if you plan to visit Mount Washington Auto Road. The room is very clean, seems to be recently renovated. It has a sliding door that opens to a small deck with a beautiful view of the backyard. Breakfast is typical hotel complimentary breakfast but it is very nice. The owners and staff were very friendly. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay. read more

Hello I am so pleasantly impressed with this place. I have stayed at many expensive ends and JACKSON and North Con way. My husband and I decided to give the lodge a Jackson a try. A lot of bang for the buck nice clean room pull out couch if you have kids, wonderfully clean pool breakfast in the morning literally on the river if you get a room in the back, it's a wonderful view of the river, fire pit and chairs great place for kids. Super location definitely will stay here again and use my money to buy myself a new ski jacket or something. read more

My boyfriend and I just stayed two nights at The Lodge and both were pleasantly surprised how great it was especially for the price! I booked it after reading some horror reviews for the place down the street that I had initially booked. The room was clean, nice river view, front desk very welcoming and are even sweet enough to hold my boyfriends jacket for us when we return in February since he forgot it in the room. This is not a Hilton or even a Fairfield Inn (by Marriot) but you'd never know the difference. There may not be a Starbucks in the lobby, but who cares! We stayed 4 wonderful nights with The Lodge. The hotel was the perfect location for our visits to Storyland and Santa's Village. Our room was clean and spacious with very comfortable beds. Our kids loved the pool and playground! Free daily breakfast had a variety of hot and cold items, which was always a hit with our picky eaters. Coffee was good and free flowing. we were unable to stay due to a covid emergency. We have been trying to get in touch with the lodge via expeida for a month now. They answered the first time and the expedia representative was told the manager needed to approve a waiver for a refund. The manager never got back in touch with them despite multiple tries via phone call and email. I finally called them directly myself and was told waivers don't exist. Why would their employee tell expedia there was a waiver if they don't exist? I was then told that the management company makes them follow policy regardless of circumstance so I asked to talk to someone from the management company. I was told no, so I asked again and was hung up on. I understand policies but we physically could not make our booking. Would they rather us spread covid to the entire hotel? Also, hanging up on a customer is not okay. I was not yelling or being mean, simply asked to speak to upper management. read more

I used to take my kids here every year when they were growing up. But the Inn is under new management and the place has lost all of it's charm. They double-charged for a room and I were rude and unhelpful in getting reimbursed. Had to report them to Citizens Fraud to try and get the refund. There are plenty of places nearby to stay that appreciate tourists. Avoid this place. read more

We stopped in to look into booking a room for January and were told to look it up online. We basically wanted to find out about types of room available and guidance on what might best suit our families. The girl at the front desk couldn't understand what we wanted, and went to get another person who said to book through their website. We reiterated that we were just looking for info and she began to look on the computer for rates. Another lady came out and said she should not do that and told us to go on the website. We were frustrated at the lack of assistance, so we left. Terrible customer service. No one was busy, they were just sitting around and we would have taken 10 minutes of their time. Note upfront that we stayed 2 nights, one of which was with a Groupon. I liked our stay very much. We stayed Thursday, 2/13 and Friday, 2/14. Pros: The innkeepers were very cordial and Dana was especially helpful over the phone when booking our reservations. The common room has a huge fireplace which was going full-blast Thursday evening and made for a nice backdrop against the lovely snow falling. We sat in this room on comfy sofas drinking some wine we brought along and chatting with others staying here. The room was very nice -- a queen and a double with a refrigerator and a nice deck. Didn't use the t.v. -- who needs a t.v. when there are so many outdoor activities to keep us happy. Location is ideal -- you can walk next door to snowshoe or x-country ski. And, it's just a short ride to the heart of Jackson to dine. The price of the room came with 2 free trail passes to Glen Ellis trails down the road. We used them and enjoyed cross-country skiing there very much. They did serve continental breakfast on Saturday morning. Cons: Only a slight beef: It's Valentine's day and all the Christmas holiday wreaths are still up. I can live with that. read more

It was far from my first choice but it was a very busy weekend so always referred to them in which they had a last-minute cancellation and your tenant at the front desk was very helpful he knew the area and he was a pleasure dealing with you but the rooms could definitely use some upgrades although it was Someone clean when I saw the signs posted in the bathroom about save our planet and reuse towels because they are trying to cut down on water usage and I looked below and realize I was still flushing a 5 gallon toilet that threw me for a loop. The bath fan not working was a little annoying I felt as if I was taking a steam shower because there was no way to ventilate. Like I said with a few upgrades the place could be very very nice!! Changing out the alien red heat lamp to clear is a quick and easy fix! read more

My husband and I had stayed at The Lodge at Jackson many years ago when we honeymooned in the White Mountains, and we decided that we would return there to celebrate our 28th anniversary. The Lodge had aged well, and was much as we remembered it. As before we got a room which overlooked a babbling stream, and we basked in the afternoon sun while sitting on the balcony. It was delightful to be within walking distance of Jackson's restaurants, and of all the charm the little town has to offer. Breakfast at the Lodge was convenient and plentiful. The only downsides were that the water didn't drain very fast, the toilet didn't flush very forcefully, and the housekeeper had forgotten to remove the old coffee sachet from the coffee maker. read more

We stayed there this past weekend as we hiked Mount Washington. Upon arrival this past Friday night it took about 5 minutes to be greeted - even though there were 3 people at the desk fidgeting with a computer. A young man then addressed us - took my drivers license - then asked me what my name was (can't you see it?!) After scrolling through his phone for a few minutes he found our booking. We were given ONE key and when we asked for two we got an exasperated expression, so we quickly said no thanks. The pillows are AWFUL - the bedding, while new, consists of a sheet and a thin comforter meant to be an insert for a duvet. The material was not breathable at all so we were hot, then cold all night. The TV was awful and we fidgeted with it and the screen proportion, no matter what we did, still rendered a fuzzy picture, so we gave up. Fast forward to the next day after a full day of hiking ... I wanted to take a shower and noticed no conditioner ... I go down and ask and the young man gives me a bottle of "conditioning shampoo" - I explained what I needed (real hair conditioner) and was told they don't offer it. The hair dryer is a joke and the tissues and toilet paper are single ply. This is certainly not what I expected for a $521.00 weekend. I will NOT be back and highly recommend that you seek to stay elsewhere - how they have such a high rating on here and hotels.com is BEYOND me. Last - their "in room fridge" barely works - our bottled water was "slightly chilled" read more

Don't believe the hype and don't get your hopes up and this place won't let you down. See, the thing is, I was all hyped up for this romantic getaway and basically all we found was a motel. Now granted, it was a very clean motel, I appreciated that a lot. The oatmeal chocolate chip cookies in the afternoon were tasty, and the breakfast on Sunday was way better than on Saturday (that or the early rising skiers just beat us to all the good stuff on Saturday), and well, the place generally grew on me once I accepted it for what it was. I started to find the fake fireplace endearing, and appreciated the quilted beadspread, and the 2 person jacuzzi tub, while not that romantic after all, was still relaxing and functional. A tip: try to avoid the "valley side" first floor rooms as your windows are facing immediately out to the parking lot, sure to be full of SUVs. The second floor with balconies toward the valley/parking lot are probably less offputting. One last tidbit: they list some of "Dana's favorite channels" for recommended TV viewing and one of them is Fox News! Read that however you like... read more

I can't believe this place doesn't have more reviews. I came here for a weekend in the winter using a groupon and I can't wait to go back. Huge bed, huge tub, a little outdated but so charming. The hotel itself is a kind of hard to find but you can call and get specific directions. There are so many lovely things to do around the area. While the hotel and area are enjoyable, the people at the lodge really made our stay special. So helpful and friendly, they felt like family. There was a big homemade breakfast in the morning for everyone. I'm dying to return!! read more

Overall, the Lodge at Jackson Village was a nice place to stay. Pros: Very convenient for our trip to Storyland - 2 mins down the road. Note to parents: you do have to pass by Storyland if you're going out for anything, so you will get the Stop! stop! Go back! requests. As others have said, the rooms are immaculate, which means a lot, and plenty of towels were provided, another nice extra. Also extra pillows and blankets and some nice free samples of toiletries and snacks. A good sized mini fridge that actually kept items cold was also a plus. The water was nice and hot (watch it with little kids, though.) The room was a nice size with good, solid wood furniture and an efficient heater/ac unit. The decor is dated but sort of expected - chintzy balloon valences and the like. A nice slider led to a small deck with a gorgeous view of the fast-flowing river. Definitely request the "river side" at the back of the building for this view and added privacy. There is a playground on site that was much appreciated. Breakfast was provided near the front desk and trays were available to carry back to the room (nice touch). The choices were just ok with the highlight being the homemade maple bread thing. Fine for a quick whatever to get you on your way. Much more appreciated was the tip for an excellent breakfast place down the street and the friendly service at the front desk. Cons: The beds! We had a room with a Queen and a twin. I swear the queen was really a full-size mattress and I see here that someone else made the same comment. The bed was smaller than expected and a fairly uncomfortable, cheap mattress. Not so bad that you'll strain your back, but not comfortable and every little move disturbs the whole mattress. The twin (single) bed was ok for our toddler but almost couldn't be called a bed. The mattress was fine - more comfy than the "queen" really, but it was on a cot or something so that anyone over 50lbs would sink and teeter the whole thing. If an adult were paying for that bed I think they'd want their money back. I'm harping on the mattresses because they seemed sub-par to the other amenities and I'd much rather have had cheaper furniture or no breakfast and a better mattress. It was fine for our two-night stay, but any longer and I would have hated it. Another con was the cheapness of the paper products - the roughest tissues ever. Overall, 3.5 stars. I'm giving this place the extra 1/2 star because of its potential. I do think I would return and hopefully at some point they will upgrade the mattresses! read more

I agree with other reviewers that The Lodge is a bit tired; however, it is also clean and the service was good. We purchased its Polar Express package and while The Lodge wasn't exactly the nicest place we've ever stayed, the owners were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the package. We also enjoyed our breakfast each morning. The owners also made an effort to keep down the noise level. We had children with us and we made sure that they kept their voices down, etc. Other familes were not as respectful and the owners spoke to them, likely on behalf of the child-free guests. Stay up here for a night with the girls' night away. Very easy to find, and just a short 5 minute drive from the hustle and bustle of North Conway. This being said, we stayed during the off season, and there was only maybe two other reservations here. We also used a Groupon. We were greeted very warmly, and spoke of several places we could visit during our stay. The owners were very nice and welcoming. The room description was two queen size beds, however these were clearly full size beds. That was the only downer. The beds weren't too bad. At least, my back wasn't screaming at me the next morning. The room was very clean and well organized. It was comfortable. The view was nice, as we view the river/garden side. Now, since it was the off season, there were many amenities that were not available to us. There was no breakfast and no pool. I cannot comment on those services. I'd like to come back and stay again, it's very clean and welcoming. read more

The lodge At Jackson village is my favorite place to stay when I'm in the white mountain area. My brother and I stayed there a couple of weeks ago and we had a great experience. Booked a room in January for an overnight in June along with 2 other families. The day of our arrival, the first family to arrive was told there was a scheduling mistake on the hotel's end and there was no room available for them. After some discussion with the staff, they were told to wait and at the same time, I received a call from the hotel telling me there was a plumbing issue and our room flooded this morning and we would no longer be able to stay there. Check in opened at 3:00, it was 4:00 and we were 5 minutes away so obviously I told them we would still be arriving and would figure it out there. The hotel staff then told my friend a room had become available and seemed caught off guard when asked if they just lied to us to give our friends our room. After some hustling, we were able to find lodging for both families at another hotel 15 minutes away but we were disappointed that this hotel's staff were unapologetic about the inconvenience caused to two families by errors on their end and offered no assistance in trying to find us alternative arrangements. The attitude very much seemed to be that this was now our problem. With two toddlers in tow who had driven nearly 3 hours and most hotels in the area sold out, we could have really been in a pickle. read more

I don't normally post reviews, but our 3 night stay here was horrendous. From the freezing cold showers that I took each morning (always at different times, hoping the situation would improve) to the broken toilet seat that flopped to the side of sat upon and cracked toilet bowl. The hot tub was also only about 96 degrees and cold water was coming from the jets! The pillows / beds were also a distant opposite from comfortable. The only positives to the stay were that the staff was friendly, and check in / out was a breeze. Regardless, we will not be returning. read more

Had to cancel my weekend Valentine's plans with my girlfriend because my Dad became suddenly ill with influenza, pneumonia, and sepsis - currently in the ICU. Staff at the Lodge said I was a day late cancelling so I would not get any money back. My wife and I stayed here one night in October. When we arrived there was a note taped to the door that said we needed to check in across the street. Told that the pool was closed due to low hotel volume. Room was ok but the bathroom was dirty with cracked tiles and mold. Certainly not worth the price. When we lost power the clerk across the street said that they were trying to find someone to send over. Keep driving by. read more
