This review is for their event hosting. We had a gathering at the Lodge in September after a dear friend of mine passed. She requested that we all be together to celebrate her life, eat, drink and laugh, so we did it at the Lodge in Randolph where she was from. The staff was so kind to us and clearly empathetic to our situation. They were totally on top of service and making sure everyone had what they needed. The energy inside was warm and inviting which was what everyone needed. The catering including pizzas, sandwiches, wings and select appetizers. The food was constantly being replenished with fresh items and everything was great. I definitely recommend hosting an event here. There is ample parking as well. read more

There is a huge parking lot and there's a nice patio facing main street. The interior of the restaurant was a lot nicer than I expected. I like how the restaurant hosts different events such as musical bingo and trivia during the week. The drinks are very well priced and we liked what we had. I got the country fried chicken, the chicken was boneless and perfectly breaded and fried. The mashed potatoes came out cold and I had the server take it back to heat up. Overall, a decent local restaurant that has a lot of potential and I hope the food is better my next visit. read more

11/25/22 - I have reviewed The Lodge before. This night there was a function, so this may be a place for you to have a party/function. We order the House Wings. Sweet and Salty and we enjoyed them. We've ha the Buffalo pizza before and enjoyed it. This night it was over cooked. My Chicken wrap was good. I enjoyed it. But I have to also say, that soon after getting home, I vomited. My stomach started to feel queasy and my food came up. The service could have been better, but as i mentioned, there was a party, so I'm sure they were catering to it. Would I eat there again? I've always wanted to be a Bar Regular and might achieve that at this spot. Shout out to no frills bars that know who they are! 12ish draft taps with hella local beers. A full back bar with Elevated Blue Collar Staples. A ONE PAGE menu of apps, pizzas, and dassit. And then late night, it's only wings and pizza and DASSIT. Which means the food comes out fast and is tasty as hell. Everyone seems to know each other and the bartenders well enough with convos crossing the bar like one big family table at the holidays. I don't know who the golf guru is here, but having 3+ screens showing the Golf Channel is a cute quirk of this spot. And even with that, there are plenty of screens showing national and local sports broadcasts. One other quirk: no TouchTunes! Ok this is what it is. A restaurant in a small town. It's not a hip fancy place. With that said, we had a party of 7 and was able to get a table with no problem. The waitress was really nice. The drinks were strong and cheap! And the food was wonderful to me. The lobster roll (double) was just that and stuffed with lobster meat. The lobster Mac and cheese was the best sandwich I ate in decades. When I make my way up to a Boston again, this is surely be on my list to return to. Yes, the sandwich was that good! read more

I can't comment on the food because when we were here last, we just had drinks. And I don't think it was all that bad really! My only complaint was that it was fucking freezing inside. But it was August so they probably had the AC cranked to kill the humidity. The inside is huge and I love all the woodwork -- it's really pretty. Our server was really attentive and pleasant (wish I remembered her name) and our drinks arrived quickly. Decent place to hang, low key friendly atmosphere and a real fireplace - ho ho ;-) Bartenders are cool, food is usual neighborhood pub stuff - but fries can be extraordinary at times, thin, crisp, taste double fried. Biggest problem with this place is inconsistency of kitchen - sometimes fries are amazing, other times just greasy. Steak can be very good or just a lump of gristle. Chicken tenders are straight off the Sysco truck - c'mon guys, you can do better. Many apps and specials can be kind of good and creative - but half the time the execution just fails before it gets to the table. I had late dinner here on a Saturday night, sitting at the bar. They were only serving from a one page late night menu. I got acknowledged pretty quickly, but it took them 15 minutes to take my order. It doesn't take anyone that long to read a one page menu and decide. In the meantime, people who arrived after me were taken care of first. Then it was another 20 minutes to cook and drop it off silently. The server didn't know which seat it was going to; he had to pick up the checks to see who ordered it. The bartender never checked on me though she refilled my drink without any verbal communication nor eye contact while talking to the (likely drunk) person next to me. I had the double quarter pounder with fries, and both were bland. The patties were obviously frozen and not seasoned whatsoever; same with the fries. The bun was not toasted and was soggy from the beef. The burger came assembled but had lettuce, tomato slice, pickles, and onions stacked on the side. The problem with this process is that the bun will be stuck to the patties by the cheese, so you can't add it to the burger and reassemble it without it becoming a complete mess. The cooks look like they are trying with this presentation, so it's very disappointing that they can't think of this on their own, nor even be bothered to taste their own food. Maybe they're all used to serving drunk people, but this was terrible. read more

This place is a typical south of Boston blue collar sports bar with the clientele favoring scully caps, wife beaters, and beers. That being said the food is way above par and the service is great as long as it's not too busy. Whenever I am in town I try to eat there and have never had a entree that wasn't excellent in all respects. What a difference from our first to our most recent visit,or better phrased last visit to the Lodge. At first things appeared the same, sat at the bar as usual and placed our order. Service was OK but but the food was far below standard. My wife ordered clams,which she has had several times at their sister restaurant in Boston. The only way to describe them was nasty.They did replace her meal with a burger, but like the one that I ordered it was also sub-standard. As many have said before you would think that the manager would respond personaly,but just "managed" to avoid the situation... We was in the corner which I didn't mind at all but then we sat for a while and I saw this one lady walk by about 5 times ( I knew she was our server as she was serving the adjacent table) I've serves for 15 years and I get it. We then ordered 5 meals ( mind you there was 6 of us) she then states wow that's a lot of food so then I said well there is 6 of us. Another smh. We then tried to order more oysters and she stated if we have anymore... I felt like we was bothering her or she was stereotyping us that she would get a tip. I felt extremely rushed. She ordered more drink for us and we didn't even ask for them. I only wanted one margarita not two. Again whatever I drank it. We ordered 2 steaks one MR and one MW and the both came out MW and the Mac and cheese was extremely burnt. Now it's time to leave and we pay and as where getting up she then comes over and is eager to get her slip so I thought to myself maybe she's leaving... no it was 7:30 and the place had a decent crowd. I'm a foodie and this was just a weird experience from the beginning. I'm paying for food and the service not to feel some type of way during our dinner. If I do go back I know who not to go to. Don't bother coming here! I tried getting in contact with the manager and never got a phone call back. I called to report about the bar tender who works there I believe is named Ashley. I basically sat down and was never attended due to her not completing her rounds around the bar to see if everyone was all set or wanted to order. Instead she was to busy socializing with her co workers. I had to keep bothering the hostess so that she could get the bar tenders attention so she could help me out which I should not have to do. I initially went there for food and drinks with a crowed of friends and we ended up leaving and going else where due to the poor service we received. The bar tender was really awkward she wore a cap and you could barely even see her face as if she was trying to hide from someone. Anyways i highly suggest going else where. Planned on a good night here with some friends to watch about 3 different sports games. One first walk-in, I was surprised at how new this place looked. There was hardwood everywhere, a bunch of huge TV's in every different direction. I go down and sit with my friends at a side table next to the bar and order a beer along with my friends. I order some Boneless Buffalo Fingers and we hang out for what will be either a Red Sox, Celtics, or Stanley Cup night. Now my friend's Dad works behind the bar and he was telling us the plans for the bar and all the set ups and everything. It sounds like it's going to be a pretty sweet bar. There was one huge wrinkle in the night: the waitress ran my card twice for the amount I wanted to pay off the tab my friends and then once again for $54. Coming to a total of $78. I don't know how or why, but mistakes like this, on a night with people that are going to a brand new bar that looks like it's going to be great, can't happen. I can't say I'll go back if that same waitress is there. Plus I hope I end up getting some reimbursement out of this, because a poor 25 year old like me can't afford to go out and be robbed of $80 and have nothing to show for it except buffalo chicken heart burn. read more

We have been meaning to try this place out for a while. The area is in need of a good place for dinner or lunch. After eating here, we won't be back again anytime soon. FOOD WAS HORRIBLE. We should have have known right away when the table next to us had lots of uneaten food still on the table. They ended up sending the food back because it was inedible. I think they had ordered the Clams. I ordered a chicken dish, and the waitress was hoping I didn't order that since they were out. She might have told us that right away so we knew. Menu is very limited, nothing healthy at all on menu. I figured I would try the ribs, which they stated were "Baby Back". What I got was not baby back ribs. I dont even think they were pork. By the amount of fat, they may have been beef. Needless to say I didnt each much of them. Others ordered the Kids Mac-n-Cheese (no flavor), Fish n Chips (overcooked) and Baked Schrod (tasteless). We all barley ate our food. Even the drinks were not well made. We couldn't get out of there fast enough. I'd rather eat bad food at a 99 at least its edilbe and not that pricey.
