Spectacular Wings Ben's is a quirky spot split into a bar area and the restaurant side. Dimly lit and always has some sort of entertainment. 10-12 sear bars on each side of the restaurant with TV's to watch a game. Absolutely wonderful staff, the nicest friendliest people. Great mixed drinks priced fairly and a bunch of beers available. Now for the food. We ordered a "bah" pizza and an order of their famous wings (buffalo). The pizza was ok, difficult category in the south shore area, high standards. Not bad, but not the best. Now for the star of the show, the WINGS!!! Perfectly cooked, sauced, and great blue cheese. You can tell that these wings are prepared with care. Trimmed, brined, blanched, then fried again. You really can tell the difference, I'll use the term again, spectacular. I was at a event nearby, and looked it up online, as soon as I saw it was a sportsbar, I definitely wanted to check it out! The bartender (not sure if he was the owner too?) Was so super nice! Great design inside. Soorts, pool tables, TV. Apparently when I was there a customer choked or got something caught, and the awesome bartender/manager gentleman, gave him the hymlic, saved his life, so 100% great guy. Why not a 5? This place is horrible. We actually got yelled at for wanting to pay with one card. They charge a ridiculous amount for billiards. They have 1600 lumen light bulbs at full brightness. Wife and I dined in and this place is more a bar then a restaurant. This is a place to go to with the boys and not a date/family friendly at all. No one greeted us and there was no sign at the door to seat yourself. We arrived at 5:45 and waited about 10-15 minute before someone eventually came to talk to us. I had no clue if had to go up to the bar to order or how any of it worked. There was a pool tournament going on around us and a bunch of middle aged rowdy guys. We ordered a large wing platter with fries and mozzarella sticks. The wings and mozzarella sticks were good but nothing special, the fries were soggy. We should have got the early bird Saturday special but they did not apply it on our check. I wasn't going to push it. Whole experience was very awkward. I went there to see a band play. It's a decent enough bar with a good patio, but the disgusting transphobic bathroom signs are enough to turn me away from it. Finally got to this place and I am so glad that we did! Dave and Nini were working and were SO great. Even on a Friday night they made us feel like we were regulars and were open to chatting and giving us menu and event advice on their restaurant. So nice of them and their personalities combined with the incredible service makes this a 6 star place if not more! The food was delicious, well priced, and oh did I mention REALLY DELICIOUS? We got fried pickles, pretzel sticks, chicken tenders, and chili nachos and were stuffed wishing we could eat more because wow was it great! We sat for a bit and each had 2 beers and didn't feel rushed at all - just super welcomed. Clean too! Saw the staff cleaning the tables and washing hands and using hand sanitizer frequently. Cool dive bar, lots of food options--especially wings. Great parking (they have a lot to themselves). They have events quite often but I just come for drinks and wings (great for sports). Seriously have to upgrade this place to 5 stars. Have been going here for quite a while now and I absolutely love it here!! The service, the food, the bands! Everything is awesome! I have never had a bad meal here and It always comes out exactly how I order it. Pizza, steak tips, burgers, turkey club. All awesome. The other day I got the potato skins and a side of chili. So yummy!!! Since my last review the great bartenders I wrote about are gone but believe me it doesn't make a difference. The bartenders there now are just as awesome! You can tell their working hard and always with a smile! Seriously, there are times every bar has to deal with someone calling in or whatever and I've seen the manager step up and run around to take orders and drinks and deliver food to tables And while doing all of this he always has a smile on his face and can make you laugh!! Also, the owner Jeff does some amazing charity fundraisers here. I think that's the greatest. To give back to people who are less fortunate or are just going through tough times. Kudos for having a such a great heart! And as always, cause I'm a crazy, insane Bruins fan. Lol they always have the game on a bunch of TV's. All of my food was cooked wrong, and one of the orders was completely wrong. They told me it would be one hour to fix it. Had the pub area to myself with 80s music kicking loudly (NKOTB on as I type). Wings came out quickly and as soon as I took my first bite I wished I ordered 12 instead of only 8. Lots of meat on these bad boys. Saucy and hot but not to hot. The dome remain mostly dry, but damn tasty. I wish I counted how many times I went "mmm" after a bite. It was many. I'd come back. Stopped by for a late lunch today with my Little Sister from the BBBS program after a day at a local museum. The restaurant was empty when we arrived however there were probably a dozen or so patrons at the bar watching the various sports channels on display. We were told we could seat ourselves and we chose a booth in the back of the restaurant. Our waitress, who seemed to double as the only bartender on staff as well, was very attentive despite her apparent need to multitask. The menu is full of exciting and appealing choices - from the steak tips to the various burgers and sandwich options as well as a pasta and entree list to drool over! I ordered a Reuben with tater tots ($1 extra vs. the standard fries) and my Little ordered a buffalo chicken pizza with the blue cheese dressing on the side vs. drizzled on top. The wait for our food was a bit excessive considering there was no one else in the restaurant but it come out fresh, hot and smelled amazing. The Reuben was spot on - perfectly grilled marble rye with a heaping yet balanced portion of the pastrami, sauerkraut and thousand island dressing each. The tater tots - Wow! Crispy, plentiful and delicious! My Little said her pizza was as delicious as it smelled. A great balance of cheese, spice and generous amounts of chicken. Our waitress was great - so friendly and very good interacting with a sillly 12-year old. I must admit that while the ambiance and layout lacks a certain degree of class and offers limited ambiance, the food makes this place a spot you have to try! read more

So..this is my second review on Yelp in two years so you know there's good reason for it. I ordered delivery through Uber Eats which I do from time to time. My order was BBQ chicken nachos. Order was to come with chicken, melted cheese, salsa, sour cream, drizzled bbq sauce and the toppings you see in this pic. As you can see this is a "make your own nachos" kit requiring the customer to do all the work. First go buy the chicken b/c there was none, then melt the cheese in oven and add provided toppings. Also note the movie theatre grade cheese wiz that randomly accompanied the order. Maybe that was tossed in as an apology/alternative for no chicken and so I didn't have to go to the trouble of preheating the oven. In 10 years their whole clientele will be retired or dead. Real shame because the food and drinks are good and they book like music. But I guess they prefer older clientele. I've been 5 time and every time I'm faced with problems and attitude. Emily was kind of sweet but I feel bad Howe staff is limited to the managements needs, robbing servers tips by being as s. Holes on purpose. Real shame. I give it 5-6 more years before they're in the hole. Other than customer service I'd give it 4-5 stars. Food was decent, we tried sliders, mozzarella sticks and tater tots appetizer trio... fried but no greasy residue, very crispy and light. Sliders were ok, well done isn't my fav. Drinks were good (strong enough !) Keno, scratch tickets, juke box, def a nice plan but the owner should invest in updating. This was my second time at this location, my wife insisted I give it a second chance. The first time we came here it was awful. Unfortunately, no surprise to me it was terrible the second time around. The food looks and tastes like it's made with the cheapest of ingredients. the wait staff was not very inviting, and the bar manager had the worst attitude. The drinks that she made had the smallest amount of alcohol in them, and she didn't say a word when she gave them to us. When my wife complained about how her meat was cooked, the waitress literally rolled her eyes at the table. The worst part of the whole experience is when I addressed the owner of the restaurant at the end of the meal. He was so dismissive of our complaints as if he didn't care at all. Even my wife, who is the sweetest person, said she would never go back. Save your money and go to a restaurant that's close by. Honestly, you'll get better service at McDonald's. read more

I love this place!! I am a HUGE fan of Dive Bars! (And I DO NOT say that as an insult!) The food is good, not expensive, and served quickly. Large menu, with lots of variety. The Bartenders (esp. Jen and Chelsea) are super nice, and attentive. The Owner is a really good guy, and you always see him there, working on his business. He takes the time to interact with his patrons. My ONLY negative comment is about the Men's Room. It's terrible!!! DEFINITELY needs some attention. When that situation is fixed, I'm 100% raising my rating to 5 stars! I've come here several Friday nights over the last year and enjoyed every visit. Our waitress is always great, always attentive and friendly. The food is also great. The menu had unique items that similar places in the area do not offer. I enjoy the craft beer list they have. This place is definitely under rated in my opinion. While helping a friend who lives in Avon after breaking her kneecap, I stopped at Ben's PourHouse & Grille instead of cooking. Standard old-school pub inside with TV screens, a pool table, a double-sided bar in the middle - nothing upscale about the place. The 'bartender' was welcoming & personable, nothing "old-school" about him. The draft beer list was impressive. The menu looked ok so I ordered the seafood casserole that came with 2 sides. I went for mashed potatoes & broccoli. My friend had the house-made mac n cheese. It was an early dinner for us so there weren't many people yet. A Tuesday night made it Poker Night & guys were rolling in the tables. Our server told us the place would be packed later. When our food came out, adorned with a real tropical-looking flower on each, the food was not even close to being "old school." It was fabulous! This is actually a review for the Raynham location. I have lived in Raynham for over 20 years and have seen multiple restaurants try and fail at this location, but it seems like someone finally got it right! I think the key was being able to buy the building outright and get the entertainment license. I like the layout, the service has improved since the first couple of days (I have been there about 5-6 times) and the food is good. I really like the pizza and the buffalo chicken pasta is my sons favorite while my daughter has gotten the meatloaf dinner twice. We have tried a few appetizers and so far, so good. The only issue I have is the first weekend I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and it had a strong masala wine flavor, but they insist there is no wine at all in the prep so I might have to try it again just to make sure. I figured I would give this place a "shot" since my usual pizza joint was closed. I ordered 3 pizzas for take out and had a beer while I waited. The staff was friendly but the bar keep apparently "forgot" to give me my change from a 10 dollar note ( 4 dollar tip for a beer ...not too bad, mr bartender). Anyway, when I got the pizza home and started eating I was very disappointed. The cheese was runny and the crust was thin and stale. Bottom line -avoid this place if you can. Update 8/11/14 Hi Jeff, In response to your comment from yesterday (below). I'm terribly sorry that you think my review was so "unfair". But this does not erase two simple facts: 1) Your bartender did not provide me change (perhaps he forgot, or made a "mistake") However, 4 dollars is not exactly grand larceny, so I'm fairly certain I won't lose sleep over it. ;-) 2) The pizza the three of us ate (or attempted to eat, since none of us actually finished) simply tasted lousy. This place is awful. Thought they couldn't be any worse than slap shots. But they are. Got a pizza thinking they couldn't mess it up. Ask for a Hamburg and green pepper well done. Over thirty minutes later got a disgusting soupy pizza with onions on it. My wife got chicken supreme. Which consisted of two chicken fingers some frozen broccoli and instant mashed potatoes in an awful salty sauce. I do think food and service is great. The crowd is much more laid back and is mixed. I have been here hence the crowd is very young and sometimes older. I am in between both crowds and were not bothered by either generation. Lighten up people. Good food, good service at a reasonable price under 10 miles outside of Boston read more
