Having stayed here for three nights, I will say that there is some truth to the reviews about the walls being "thin". However, I can't say with any certainty that I have stayed in ANY hotel that is perfectly quiet and doesn't have noise coming from an elevator, ice machine, or kids running. I can say I had none of that noise here - I could hear my neighbors walking above my room once in a while, and I could hear some city sounds. However, I am staying downtown - hello... The facility is a very unique hotel and provides a very neat atmosphere that you won't get at a lot of places. There are exposed wood beams throughout the rooms on the walls and ceilings, providing a very neat viewpoint. The rooms are huge - I literally had a hallway leading into my room. I found the rooms to be clean and well kept, the bathroom was very clean and had nice amenities provided. I had an excellent view from the room of downtown and it made the experience very nice. I did read in a couple of reviews about the fact that the room uses wooden blinds and not curtains - I didn't think the usage of blinds caused any more light to enter the room than curtains would, but then again I have these at home. Overall a very pleasant experience from check-in onwards. If you are looking for a unique hotel experience while staying in downtown, I would highly recommend you stay here. You will be right in the center of everything, and within walking distance of a lot of great dining experiences. read more

I wanted to add a couple of things. Day 1: I found very late at night that i was allergic to something in my room on the 5th floor. Maybe the big plant in there or the wood or brick, not sure, but i could not breath, so if you get allergies don't stay on the 5th floor. However, when i called to tell them, they asked if i wanted to move and i said no... the man actually brought me up Alkezelter Cold medicine and Unisom to my door so that I could get some rest... Day 2: the second night it was even worse with the allergies, so i had them move me to a room on the 3rd floor and they did it right away, as soon as i asked, they had a bell man come help me take my things to the new room and the next day made sure I had complimentary breakfast and free internet for my trouble.. Day 3: I needed to wear jeans for a charity day on Thursday (that part was ok) but I sent the only pair of jeans I had to the laundry on Wednesday and was told I could get them back the same day, not the case. After calling several times, they were able to call the laundry service and have them make a special trip back to bring me my jeans in the morning which was a good solution. So that is a good thing. Day 4: I needed to get to a party around the corner, but it was freezing out, so they had the shuttle take me around the block and the guy brought me right to the door. Day 5: In the morning I called and had them take my bags to be checked, so that i could head to the office and pick them up later. Then they drove me in the shuttle to work. When i got back, getting my luggage was a pain because a giant bus filled with rude people pulled up and they all wanted to check luggage. I tried to tell people i was trying to catch a plane, but they were not interested.. finally i caught a valet and told him, he called a airport shuttle 20.00 flat fee plus tip (not bad) and got me my bags so i could go change into my travel clothes.. they got me to the airport and i am writing this review from the airplane via wireless by gogo inflight.. Stayed here while on a roadtrip for the hockey game in town. Check in experience was friendly and pleasant, though you have to go to the Crowne Plaza across from The Lofts for it. Parking can be found by valet or public parking at a lot right beside both buildings. We chose the public option as they allowed overnight parking. The room itself was quite large and spacious, and even included some designs with the high ceilings and exposed brick. Wish that there was card entry for the entrance enabled as anyone could walk in. Slight (-) was that the lobby was a bit musty. Otherwise, a good stay within walking distance to the arena, which was our main attraction. read more

We arrived around 8 pm to a quiet empty small lobby with a Hobbit sized desk to the left side of the room. Within seconds, a very tall nervous man greeted us. The elevator doors opened and closed incessantly while we checked in with the tall man now seated awkwardly hunched over the computer with his knees bumping into the top of the desk. He moved quickly as he told us 'I just learned this place is haunted and it freaks me out!' Well, quite the greeting, but we were pleasantly amused as we received our keys and hesitantly entered the elevator to the right, the one that appeared to be normal, but shook all the way up to our floor. The room was comfortable and looked sophisticated. It had a charming boutique character with beams and bricks exposed around the room. The bath was lovely with penny tiles and high end fixtures, soap and towels. A wall of windows and a large screen TV hung from the ceiling. Table lamps around the room kept a peaceful ambiance but one fixture had a burnt out bulb. The mattress and pillows were perfectly adequate, but sleep was challenging after researching the tales of the ghost woman. For most of our visit we wondered if anyone else was staying in the hotel as the hallways, lobby and elevator were always empty. We even began to wonder if when we woke we'd find out the hotel had closed five years earlier. Yes, we've watched far too many Hitchcock films. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay but think the hotel could use a little more maintenance; the elevators, tub drained slowly and sticky door locks. But maybe it's more charming to blame these small infractions on the ghost woman. read more

Stayed here for 2 nights for work. This has more of an apartment feel than a hotel. The decor is modern industrial. Has brick walls, open ceiling, wood beams, etc. was cool because it had a separate living room with TV, and huge bedroom. Bathroom was also roomy, clean, and modernly decorated. The Lofts and the Crowne Plaza are operated as one entity across the driveway from each other. They share multiple resources which results in a very poor consumer experience. We used the bistro, the lobby bar and attempted to use Max and Erma. In each case the service lacked the required resources to effectively service their patrons. The servers themselves were all really good people , but were being asked to perform far too many tasks for too many people. Phil Collins was in town doing a concert and the hotel was very busy. Dozens of people trying to be served. At the bar, two bartenders were feverishly trying to serve 100+ people. Saturday morning at the bistro, one person was trying to take orders and make specialty coffee orders for a line of at least 12 people while I was there. Max and Ermas had a half dozen people loitering around the hostess stand wondering if anyone was working today. If you are planning a stay in Columbus, suggest you try a different venue. read more

I wish I can choose no stars. I just checked out this overrated overpriced hotel. My room was made up and no complaints. But I opened my "closed luggage" and found one of house keeping's damp rags inside. A few of my worn clothes were wet and stank. It was HELLA NASTY!!!God only knows where that rag has been used. Upon check out, I gave the rag to the front desk in front of customers checking in. I let them know upfront I don't need any complimentary things because I don't plan on staying here ever. Word of mouth news spreads the fastest so count on me on spreading the word. The floors and walls were very thin. You can hear above tenants walk wherever. Very nice business hotel rooms. The problem is with the service. I walk up to the check in desk. The girl at the front desk is on the phone and looks down as i approach. I wait patiently for about 3 or 4 minutes and she doesn't acknowledge me. SMH. I sit down in a chair because she does not plan on acknowledging a guest until she has completed her call. Several minutes later she gets off the phone and asks if she can help. She didn't even pretend to care that it took her almost ten minutes to acknowledge or assist me. She gave me my room key and I was off. I think she said maybe ten words to me the entire time. I was only there one night but the next morning when I was leaving at 7am, there wasn't anyone at the front desk. I had to call and get an emailed receipt. The room was almost 200 for one night after tax including valet parking. Although the room was spacious and clean I will not return for that type of attitude. read more

The check in was smooth. The staff was friendly. My issue was with the decor. Maybe I'm just used to the Vegas posh decor, the luxuries of NYC, or the bungalows in Beverly; but I was highly unimpressed with my room. I'm just not a fan of the exposed brick. I was okay though. I walked through the room to the bedroom and loved that I didn't feel cramped. My pillow cases were not clean... Lipstick or blood stains, which made me wonder if my sheets were clean. I decided ignorance is bliss, so I slept on the couch with a coat and hiked up the heater. The bathroom seemed small to me. They did have Aveda bath products. I just didn't like the black and white tile. When I hear luxury, I just think of something more. After talking to others, I realized that I'm just a west coast girl. Overall, I would have given this place 4 stars, but visibly dirty sheets are inexcusable. read more

At around 5 AM on the first night my wife and I stayed here we were abruptly awoken by the sound of screams. Hearing the screams increase in both intensity and duration the first thought that came to my mind was: "am I a potential witness to a crime and should I call 911?" Then I heard my wife sigh and say "you gotta be kidding me." As the lethargic fog that had clouded my judgement mere seconds earlier began to wane I realized that my wife's remark wasn't indifference in the face of crime but acknowledgement that what we were subject to was in fact two people in the room above us having very audible sexual relations... Thus illustrates one of the problems with this place - thin ceilings. After we turned the fan on things got better. Other than that, the place was clean and had a unique, pleasant appearance. Its location was also convenient for walking to most of the fun places like the Short North, Arena District and the theaters. The front desk staff was pleasant as well. What a great place to stay in Columbus! It really reels in the industrial vibe of the city, with a touch of modern. The high loft, exposed beam ceilings are always cool to see above you. A very comfy king bed from someone with a bad back! A quick walk to amazing food/brews in the Short North. Easy check in. No hassle vibe. Great A/C that pumps air all through the large space. Nice neutral tones/tiles in the bathroom. And cool views/sunrise if you get an east facing room. If you're looking for all inclusive this isn't your spot, but if you're not a stickler and love the industrial/modern vibe, then it is! I stayed at the Lofts with my fiancé while she took the July 2017 Ohio Bar Exam. The Lofts is basically just a shell of a hotel and relies entirely on the connected Crown Plaza. We stayed in the biggest room, and it had an air conditioning unit that sounded like a Diesel engine starting when it came on, and blew directly on the bed. Made for a horrible sleeping experience. The room service was unbelievably slow and atrocious. Gave it two tries, and went down to the Max & Erma's that prepares it all personally, and the food and service were still terrible. To make matters worse, there aren't any vending machines anywhere. I will never stay at this hotel again. read more

Although I had a really great stay here, I'm only giving it four stars because we didn't take advantage of all of the amenities, so I can't say whether or not the full experience would change my rating. We booked a room here for our wedding night because we were putting the honeymoon off until we had cash to take a really nice trip. The check-in person was friendly and helpful, and the room itself was gorgeous. The bedding was nice, there were a really good amount of pillows (not the two little flimsy ones you usually get in a hotel), the sofa was nice, the bed was *huge*, there were two good-sized televisions. Even the bathroom was nice, with Aveda products rather than the generic hotel stuff you'd usually get. It's a definite step up from generic chain hotels. We did order room service from Max and Erma's. The food was okay, but I'm wishing now we would have saved ourselves the money because I wouldn't ordinarily eat at Max and Erma's. If you like chain restaurants like that, you'll probably be very happy with the food; places like M&E, Friday's, Applebees, etc, I tend to avoid like the plague. But hey, it was our wedding night--gotta order room service on your wedding night, yes? Parking was a little on the expensive side; we self-parked in the garage and I believe it was about ten dollars for the overnight. With it being so close to High Street and within walking distance of a lot of eating and entertainment options, if you're visiting and you don't need to drive, you can save this expense either by not renting a car or by finding cheaper parking options and taking a cab or the bus until you need to retrieve your car. All in all, it was a great stay, and we plan to return sometime when we're not so exhausted and can enjoy ourselves more leisurely. read more

I can imagine people complain about the noise. It is noisy. You can hear your upsairs neigbours walk around the room and you can hear the traffic. But living in the center of a big European city next to a trainstation I think I'm numb. Don't hear it, doesn't bother me. Stayed here last May and this week. Both the same room, or at least the same lay-out. Big spacious room with a big bed. No curtains but wooden blinds. So if you prefer a very dark room: don't go here. A nice bathroom with only one real complaint: the water pressure is not so high and if the neigbours take water or flush the toilet you're out of water. And both time we had to wait a long time for the valet. In May to leave the car, this week to get our car. And excuse any grammar and spelling mistakes. English is not my first language. And if that's not bad enough, Apple keeps changing the English words into 'proper Dutch'. Yes, you guess right, my first language. read more

Checked into Deluxe King Suite - Advertised as a LUXURY hotel....but it isn't...stained carpet, broken beverage cooler (no fully stocked minibar as advertised), suite is by the elevator and ice-maker. No "concierge" (front desk) services after 11pm. Valet, engineering seem to be shared with the Crowne Plaza and when engineering visited my room to fix something, he told me he didn't work in this hotel. Walls are thin. Cheap blinds do not keep sun out. Apparently no manager on duty so.... You can definitely find better accommodations in Columbus, especially at these prices. read more

A very nice boutique property in a great location - walkable to Arena District nightlife, prompt and attentive housekeeping service, and an exceptionally unique room in a historic property. Exposed brick walls and luxury accents including Aveda bath products made my stay a pleasure. The towels were thick, plush, and I daresay DELICIOUS. Room downside: Thin walls! Normal conversations from the neighbors, as well as TVs, alarm clocks, music, etc were all audible. A *tremendously huge* problem with this hotel was the valet service, which is shared with The Lofts' sister property, Crowne Plaza. Valet staff were difficult to locate, seemed generally lackadaisical about their duties, and seemed generally understaffed. (For appearances alone, how about you boys try RUNNING at least until you're out of eyesight instead of sauntering off to get vehicles offsite? And with not one but 2 wedding parties plus an entertainer and his entrourage as guests, how about adding a few extra staff to the night?) At check-out, valets simply refused call-down service - instead requiring all guests to queue at the valet desk while cars were very slowly brought up. Attention seemed to focus on inbound guests and luggage assistance than with expediting retreival of vehicles. For $21 a day, a guest needn't wait over 20 minutes for a car to be retrieved. Not even at a large convention hotel in LA do you wait this long. Should I stay again, I'll go with the much cheaper self-park option. My poor valet experiences were not isolated - Over 3 days I retrieved my car 9 times - and each retreival was met with similar delays. The Lofts has the potential to provide a very attentive, 4-star experience. They just need to tighten up the service aspects a bit. read more

Stayed here for a night last weekend when we cam into town for some live music. It was my first trip Columbus so I wasn't sure what to expect. This hotel, although a little pricey, was a really cool unique place to stay. It was walking distance from all the downtown entertainment venues, and some very nice restaurants. I see a lot of reviews claiming it was dirty, but we did not experience this. Nice, clean, roomy rooms with a great shower = 4 stars. read more

This is one of the better hotel stays I've had in a longtime. I really liked the modern industrial decor they had going on. The staff was extremely pleasant and very helpful. The only issue I had was finding the hotel. I didn't know it was adjacent to Crowne so we circled around about 4x looking for The Lofts. The sign was not illuminated and super close to the ground so we could not find the hotel at night. Not only that, there was a big white van inconveniently parked right in front of the sign coming in from High St and there would've been no way of seeing the sign if we didn't pull over across the street ad looked up to see it behind the van. I mentioned it to the front desk so hopefully future van deliveries aren't inconveniencing others especially late at night when you are out of town and driving around in circles. I did enjoy the fact that Max and Erma was available for takeout up until midnight and I never had to leave the hotel to pick it up. Also open early enough to feed tiny hungry tummies for breakfast. I really enjoyed this hotel and will probably come back for future visits to Columbus. read more

My girlfriend booked us a stay here on a Friday night for my birthday, even though we are locals. I've always heard about this little hotel and wanted to check it out. I read some so-so reviews, so I wasn't sure what to expect. We used the valet because it was part of our room rate(breakfast & parking package). The valet was quick and friendly and offered to help with our bags. The guy checking us in could not have been nicer or more friendly. He offered us ideas of places to go and things to do, until of course we told him we lived here. But a nice gesture. Also, even though we booked the cheapest room type, he upgraded us to a superior king room with no hesitation. The room was awesome. Very contemporary and what you would expect for an industrial/loft theme. There was a sitting room with wetbar, sizable bathroom and tons of room in the bedroom, with more seating and a decent desk. We were right next to the elevators, but we never heard them. These are rectangular-shaped lofts with the beds being farthest from the door, so it's not like it's right next to you. The bathroom amenities were all Aveda, the soap, shampoo, cond and lotion, not just the soap like someone else reviewed. The bed was really comfortable, as were the pillows. You can also connect your iPod to the clock radio. Since the breakfast was included we ordered it room service style, and yes it is from Max & Erma's. I too typically avoid those types of chain restaurants like the plague, but the breakfast was actually pretty solid. Ok eggs, great potatoes, ok toast and Minute Maid OJ. We definitely plan to stay here again, it was an overall great experience. Good job Lofts! read more

To start I would like to say what a nice room I had at the lofts. Large, well appointed, modern and a good bed. I'm afraid my experience there did not go well however. With all of the money that was spent on this building, nobody thought to insulate the walls or ceilings. My upstairs neighbor walked around until midnight. My neighbor had their tv on at a reasonable volume until I moved rooms at 3am. It was as if their tv was in my room. The blinds were insufficient, which would normally not be a problem except that the hotel faces the convention center which is lit up like a Christmas tree all night. I think I slept for a total of 4 hours and I was in bed for 9. It was brutal. DONT STAY HERE IF NOISE OR LIGHT BOTHER YOU AT ALL!!!!! Also the breakfast place looked terrible. I walked over to the hilton downtown where they have great food. I would recommend staying over there when ever your in town. It's much better. read more

My husband and I stayed here for our wedding night. We chose the Lofts because our wedding guests could stay in a block of rooms at the Crowne Plaza. It was so convenient to have our people close by for a night on the town with our friends but far enough away we could enjoy our wedding night! The rooms are beautiful. Our room had exposed brick, a view of the city and a HUGE soaking tub as well as a living room in addition to the bedroom. Aveda products, plush towels, and fluffy robes were the icing on the cake. My only complaint was our neighbors left their room service outside their door to be picked up and it was left in the hall during our entire stay- 6 pm to noon the next day. Pretty gross no matter where you're staying, but especially in the environment the Lofts seems like it is trying to create. Oh, and don't even think of putting your room key next to your cell phone when you put yourself together to go out. You will deactivate your room key :( All that aside though, this was a really great hotel. I've done a bit of traveling and I was impressed with our choice. We even plan to stay here to celebrate our anniversary. It's a wonderful place to stay even when you're not leaving town! read more

For a brand that positions itself as a luxury boutique hotel, there were some serious misses. First, the good news: the location is great for walking to Nationwide Arena, the Short North and the Arena District and the building is an adaptive reuse of a historic property with a cool, industrial feel in the spacious rooms. The bed was comfortable and the amenities were nothing special. Now, the bad news: when we checked in at 7 pm on a Friday, there were food trays outside several rooms with the remnants of pancakes and breakfast food. Now, maybe several guests had breakfast for dinner, but the trays were STILL THERE when we checked out at noon the following day. Yuck. The restaurant on the first floor is a Max and Erma's (meh), and we came in at 11:20 for a late bite in the bar to catch a March Madness game that was important to us. The place was crowded with a post-concert rush, but when midnight hit, the TVs all went off with two minutes to go! We asked the bartenders if they could be turned back on for the end of the game while we finished our food and drink. When one bartender said, "Closing time is closing time," we cashed out and raced to our room- only to find the game just ended! Argh! We will never go to a Max and Edna's and I'm not sure we'll stay at the Loft Hotel again. read more

The Lofts hotel is located inside a building that used to hold the old waterworks. I'm not really sure what the waterworks was, but my Grandpa was really impressed with the conversion. The Lofts is in prime time downtown. On the corner of Nationwide and High its less snooty than the Crowne Plaza, not cookie cutter like the Hyatt, and classier than the Red Roof Inn. Its unique and hip. The lobby is tiny but decorated in art deco and staffed by a person who is cheerful and not too enthusiastic. The rooms are marked by the mile high ceilings and artsy decor. Each room has its own theme. Staying in the econo version I was impressed by the Aveda products for the bathroom, and the million thread count towels. The Lofts also offers free ( for the night) terry cloth bathrobes. The bed is impressive with so many pillows and covers you could get lost inside of them. There are a few downsides to the Lofts. The walls are paper thin. We heard the neighbors coming home from their night out and celebrating. Our other neighbors were caught enjoying the hotel's room service porn. (I hope) You can hear the elevators opening and closing seemingly all night long. The hotel itself is also very small. Realizing we had forgot toothbrushes forced us t go next door to the Crowne's concierge. These little flaws were minor and overshadowed by the staff's service. Finding out we were newly engaged the hotel bought our breakfast and champagne. They even provided us with a free cab the next day to take us a few minutes down the street to our home. Bring earplugs, but be prepared to have a really nice hotel to stumble home to after a night out downtown. Just don't forget your toothbrush. read more

The carpets in the room were stained beyond belief, the tray table meant for patrons was dingy and most certainly had never been cleaned. I didn't care for the gloomy rooms, as the lighting in a room with such high ceilings is hard to illuminate if not done right. The wooden ceiling joist, although giving a stylish feel, made for a noisy nights sleep. I was on the 2nd floor and unfortunately could hear every step taken from the room above! I am giving this review 1 star. Let me explain. I never even had the chance to experience the stay at this hotel. I wanted a small getaway in Columbus, Ohio for the annual Red , White & Boom festivities. I wanted a hotel right in downtown so I didn't have to battle the traffic on the way there or the way home. I was also splurging for a really nice room to relax that had more of the upscale amenities so to speak. I was shown the top 3, I looked at all of their pictures, and instantly fell in love with The Lofts Hotel. I live in a Loft apartment and well I am spoiled to the high ceilings. Not only did I love the high ceilings but I was in love with the rustic NY vibe the room had. So I looked for a king suite and booked it immediately! I was so excited! I did this backwards where I booked the hotel before reading the reviews. Upon reading the reviews the complaints I saw the most were about the view of parking garages and the very noisy Max & Erma's below. If you wanted quiet to request a room away from it. So I called to request my room not to be facing the parking garage that I'd like a nice downtown view of Area District. It's so pretty at night there. Well this hotel is known for its loft rooms with ceiling to floor windows aside from the high ceilings. Well when I'm requesting a room on the upper floor away from M&E I'm told that I do not have a King Deluxe Suite booked that I have a standard king. I told the gentlemen " I'm sorry but I booked the King Deluxe Suite." He said no I'm just showing the standard King Suite. He did say he would try to lock in a corner room so I'm not starring at a parking garage for my view. But not once did he offer to fix my reservation , see what had happened or offer to upgrade my room. I just felt like I was an inconvenience to him or something I don't know. I didn't throw a fit I just hung up the phone and booked my stay somewhere else. Now normally those rooms aren't that expensive but for red white and boom I was going to be paying over $500 for just 2 nights! If their concierge didn't even care to help me figure out what happened with my room then I wasn't going to pay that kind of money to stay there. I was afraid I'd get there and then not even have my reservation. It's just so unfortunate because I am still upset about not being able to stay there. So this review is not towards the hotel itself. I did not even get that far. So if you're booking this hotel ... make sure you get the right room before getting all of the way there. I did see another review who say when they got there a third party site booked and charged them for a room there and upon arriving they were told they were all sold out. Thanks! read more

Traveled to Columbus for a couple of days for a conference and the hotel brands I normally say at were all booked up. Decided to try the lofts which I highly regret. This is basically a separate building of the Crowne Plaza next door. There is no one staffing the desk and anyone off the street can enter and roam around the room floors. The hotel also has a musty smell and in my room particularly it resembled pet urine. Walls are paper thin so you will hear everything going on in the rooms next to you including their early morning alarms. The AC unit was excessively loud as well. I had bad plumbing in my room also. Water sprayed out the side of the sink faucet, the tub didn't fully drain so you are showering in a pool of water and the temperature never went above room temperature. Our experience on 1/23/2016 was beyond our expectations..... Easy check-in, reservations made at a great restaurant (during restaurant week), free shuttle to the restaurant and back, complimentary breakfast and valet parking. The hotel is modern industrial and my husband loved it! Go for the Bed and Breakfast Package that includes the parking. Definitely worth the bang for your buck. Will revisit! read more

Most reviews are pretty spot-on. A bit expensive for what you get. The amenities are nice, such as the L'Occitane products. However the drain plug in the bath didn't work, the wifi connection was mediocre, and this is the first hotel where I've ever had to pay daily for parking, but it appears this is the norm around here. The walls are thin. Finally, most of the amenities are shared with the crowne plaza so you might as well stay there, as there are no vending machines or anything in the hotel. Quite frankly the best room that I have ever stayed in. The towels and linens were nice and we had a great view!

Generic bullet points: At checkin, our card was charged twice. Shuttle to grocery store. Call for shuttle pickup 2x with no answer Call hotel, they assure pickup is on its way 20min later, call back, told shuttle isn't running and hasn't been for 30min Next morning, talk to front desk about double charge, told it was for incidentals Another agent helps us fix the charge since it was not incidentals and we were charged for full amount twice. Ask for shuttle to brunch Told they don't shuttle general public. Tell them we are hotel guests. Told they don't profit enough from shuttle so they don't have one anymore. Told them we used it last night. Told that they stopped running it on the 27th, and it was currently the 29th (Very annoying since we chose this hotel for the shuttle that is still listed on their website) This continued the entire trip Add in the extremely loud construction right outside our window bright and early every morning and all day long. Also, I am certain there is mold in the hotel, as we both had horribly red eyes and sneezing the entire time in the room. Room seemed clean but floors turned our socks black. One hotel staffer was helpful and pleasant. One. Will not return. Don't waste your money. read more

I was initially excited to stay at this place because I love boutique hotels and had read about this place. Unfortunately, whoever wrote that article probably didn't stay here. What they have is halfway to boutique - if you count exposed brick, loft-style rooms, etc. But unfortunately whoever did their interior decoration made off with 80% of the money or just had very little discernment when it comes to quality. The robes, bedding, towels, etc. were really substandard. Anyone with a bit of taste should be able to pick this up. I prefer not to wear cardboard after my shower. The bed was so uncomfortable (again, did they pick this up at a yard sale?) and the HVAC system so loud and so ineffective, that I can say, of the 45 or so odd nights I've had on the road this year so far and it's only April, I definitely got the WORST sleep here. Oh, and thank you for the wakeup call both days at 6:30 AM that I didn't order. After the first day of staying here, I told them that I got a wakeup call at 6:30 and to please take it off. I was hitting 3 cities in four days and was exhausted. But no, thank you for waking up again the next day. This made their neutral, nonexistant service go to terrible in my mind. Honestly, anyone here on business should avoid this place because you're just going to end up tired at all your meetings. This is my first 1 star on yelp and I wish I could give zero. Next time, it's back to the Hilton by the airport - at least there I was comfortable. read more

I stayed at The Lofts from 5/30/12 to 6/2/12 and here are a few things I liked about this hotel and what I would like to see improved: I like the decor of the rooms. Spacious! The hotel staff is very friendly and always had a smile on their faces. The location you cannot beat. On the other hand, I certaintly would not call this a "luxury" hotel. It appears that way but when you actually stay there, it seems just like a ordinary hotel. I stayed in room 3304 and it sure can use new carpet. In the entrance hallway you can see the dirt trail! Yuck! The room appears clean but does not smell like it. The appliances, menus, tables, and wet bar could used a nice wipe down with clorox wipes. Of course I did that. Also it is nice to use paper products sometime. I do not generally trust the glassware sitting face down, even if its on a coaster. The second night I could hear everything from the top floor! Soundproof those rooms already! Both days I ordered room service from Max & Erma's. My breakfast was not hot although they sent it up to me pretty quick and the food reminded me of Denny's or a Perkin's. Nothing upscale at all. Also woiuld it hurt to have a vending machine around in case I happen to want a bottle of water in the middle of night. I could not find one anywhere. Also there should be security posted somewhere, so when customers enter they feel safe using the elevators and walking through the halls. There was no one in sight when I walked in after midnight. For the weary that could be a problem. Would I stay here again? Probably not. I had far greater experience a Hilton or Raddison. To me this hotel does not live up to my expecatation. A nice hotel experience involves more that big rooms, flat tvs, or avenda products. Cleanliness, room service, and overall stay remains high priority. The Lofts forgot this! read more
