2 pescado, carne asada, and carnitas tacos

Quick snack or meal to fuel your adventures in Seward! We came by after The Cookery (their sister resto) to really fill up. We all got a couple tacos ($4.50/ea) and chowed down. Honestly it was all good - pescado, carne asada, carnitas, the salsas. Was pleasantly surprised to find this in Seward.

Good vibes, good tacos. Can't ask for much more. Came here the other day with my friend and we got some tasty food and beer. My veggie tacos were filled to the brim. My friend enjoyed his food too. Fast and friendly service, good value for money!

first time in Alaska/Seward didn't think they'd have good carne asada coming from cali, best believe they do, very great no flaws about my burrito. Not only do they have good food the cashier service was amazing, very respectful, such a cool food spot, love it

Small little restaurant in downtown Seward. You order then get your table. They call your name you pick up from the counter and bus your own table when finished. I ordered the Elote and Pescado tacos. They were good. The front has a cart with salsa. Very small amount of tables inside. Like an indoor fast food spot.

We enjoyed some tasty tacos at this place. The menu is pretty limited, but it covers all of the bases. Choose your meat and pick the format (taco, burrito, or torta.). We tried the Rockfish (light batter, excellent fresh flavor), Elote (nice version of this classic), Carnitas (deeply spiced, and nicely crispy) and Carne Asada (nice marinade and lean meat). My favorite was the Carnitas, but the rest were also very good. These are above average tacos this far north. The place is small but comfortable and they offer several Mexican beers. You should try this one out.

Really great tacos in downtown Seward. Stopped in right before closing and grabbed a carnitas, carne asada, and rockfish taco. They come with cabbage, onions, and cilantro on a fresh handmade tortilla. All three tacos were delicious but the carnitas was my favorite.

Real fish battered well, lightly fried on corn tortilla. We went back and ordered more because they were delicious. We are from a beach town where fish tacos is a weekly take out meal - these folks legit know how to do fish tacos Very tasty selection of 5 salsas at the self service salsa bar. Open kitchen that was clean and efficient. Lots of cooks but everyone had a job and service was quick. A but pricey but that may be how it is in Alaska

Overall, a solid fast-casual taqueria. The one thing it was missing were house-made chips, salsa, and guacamole. We didn't encounter guacamole frequently in Alaska, so perhaps it's difficult to get/expensive to source there. Service was friendly and the place was packed: when all tables were taken, we were informed that The Lone Chicharrón is attached to the adjacent bar, which had a pass-through window to the restaurant. We order drinks at the bar and the restaurant would pass our order through the window to us. Unfortunately I'd left my ID in our hotel, so was not permitted to enter the bar. Thankfully by the time we'd tried that, a table had opened in the taqueria and we were able to order drinks from The Lone Chicharrón instead. We got two combo orders of tacos plus 1 extra taco (so we could try 1 of each taco on the menu). All were tasty. Appreciated the serve-yourself salsa bar. Would definitely return!

Some of the best tacos in Alaska! Love the vegetarian taco option, and the fish tacos are top notch! Really fantastic home made salsas too!

Food was good enough, but service was downright surly. Which, to be fair, has seemed alarmingly common over our ten days in Alaska.

My wife and I both love Halibut and were looking to try some fresh caught, while our cruise ship was docked in Seward. We strolled up town a couple of blocks from the Alaskan Sea-life Center and saw that Gold Rush Bistro had some on their lunch menu and decided to stop in. Surprisingly there was no wait at 12:30 (lunch time) their smiling staff were happy to see us. We were greeted, seated and able to order very quickly. That being said, the place started to fill up pretty fast. As we waited, the lady that was sitting next to us when we sat down, had a god awful amount of perfume on, after a few minutes of choking, we politely as to be moved to another table and were happily accommodated, no hassle at all. I've had Halibut many times in the past, but none have been as delicious as the Garlic Halibut that they serve here. One word, OUTSTANDING!!! The decor inside was beautiful, with a homey wood vibe (see pics). Looking out the front window there was an amazing view of some of the surrounding Mountains. If you find yourself in Seward and are a little tired of the food on your cruise or just happen to be in town for another reason, I would highly recommend Gold Rush Bistro.

Today I remembered to do all the things including take pictures of my food. I walked in and was seated immediately, I chose to sit at the bar because it's just easier and the chairs all have better cushion. After seeing another patron eating a burger i decided to order one too! Great choice. I had the jalapeño burger with bacon jam and man was it delicious. The burger was a perfect medium well, the brioche bun was perfectly toasted, the white cheddar cheese was the perfect complement to the slightly sweet bacon jam, the bacon was crispy, Smokey and not greasy. The only complaint was the slice of tomato that is out of season and tasteless. I mean it is Alaska after all. My seafood chowder which I paid an additional $4.00 for a cup was okay but whatever, the burger made up for it. All in all it was a great experience and delicious meal. Because it was the middle of the afternoon on a weekday, the place wasn't as packed and noisy as it can be sometimes. The ambiance was super relaxed today so I sat and ate inside. If you are ever in Seward, check this place out.

The servers were really nice and excellent at their jobs! But the best part was the food wow! The seafood chowder was amazing had big chunks of sockeye salmon. The gulf captains platter was very delicious soo fresh had broiled salmon which was juicy and very delicious, Halibut chunks that were fried like fish and chips were cooked crispy and the fish was still juicy. And fried prawns that were crispy and juicy inside bery tasty it came with 2 home made sauces a cocktail sauce that tastes like fresh horseradish was used in it and a standard tarter sauce. It came with two sides we tried baked potato loaded with cheese and bacon and rice with butter both were cooked fo perfection. The cornbread was ok compared to rest of food. Last but not least was this massive chocolate cake it was amazing wish it came with milk, but was so big we took home half! If I'm back in Seward i will definitely come back!
