I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed my summer salad, the bbq honey wings (which were plentiful and good), and my fish and chip/ (which had two big pieces of fish). My dad's seafood chowder tasted really good and looked fantastic (best of the three he had on the island) although he thought it wasn't hot enough. Otherwise the crab cakes were good too (they come with three). Overall portions were large, value was good for the money, the patio was nice (albeit a bit too sunny), and service was good. read more

Was super dirty when we got to our table. My niece refused to sit down and the floor was littered with fries and noodles. we asked to wipe tables but hostess got busy at front desk so I had to wipe down myself and left the restaurant with sticky arms. Food was meh. Arugala salad was good kids Mac and cheese was bland and over sauced so I had to pay for extra bread for my nephew to eat sauce and bread instead of eating the noodles. Mussels were ok. Lobster roll was average. Food took over 25 minutes to get as I did a full twenty minute meditation and then some. read more

We stopped at The Lost Anchor after late afternoon at the beach. The upper deck was so relaxing with a nice breeze and umbrellas to shade from the evening sun. Our drinks came quickly. The bacon wrapped scallops were so good. That is saying something from a fisherman's granddaughter, daughter & sister. We got two skewers with 3 scallops on each. There was a sauce with them. I had the root beer BBQ pulled pork on a pretzel bun and a salad without tomatoes. The flavours mixed so well. Tim got battered fish and chips. I loved the light batter, but loved my salad so much I did not even crave his fries. Great place to get good food in Cavendish. One of my summer favourites. After after waiting over 2.5 hours at another restaurant only have to wait another 30 minutes, we came here. We should have come here first. Great service and accommodating staff. My husband loved the mussels so much, he thinks they might have ruined mussels for him anywhere else. I had a filling and warm vegetarian meal and felt very satisfied. Walked in, servers greeted us at the door, lead us to our seats and within 3 minutes we were given menus and our drinks. We ordered the fish and chips as well as the muscles. WOW, if you like humongous servings of seafood, this is the place for you! The fish and chip were a massive two piece, breaded fish and chip with coleslaw and fries. The muscles were a massive bowl of white wine boiled muscles. The authentic maritime seafood taste is by far worth every penny. The server ended up being one of the managers and promised a VIP treatment if we go back soon! We will be back ! First, they locked the door to the entrance and we couldn't get in and had to knock on the window several times. The waitress's excuse was it gets jammed.....no sorry I pulled so hard that I almost fell over. There was also another couple that tried separately to open the door... it didn't work for them either. The food was not very good. I had the fish tacos.. mediocre and tasted funny. My husband had the fish and chips and the worst place in cavendish by far. My kids had the Mac and cheese and it tasted like flour... they had 1 bite and then I tasted it... not edible. Sadly overall awful experience. Got lunch here on a Friday early in the day. The waitress was friendly abs the food was great. The menu is pretty small but has decent variety. We tried the fish tacos (which came with fries) and the crab and corn fritters (came with a salad with a raspberry vinaigrette). The sides where not listed on the menu nor explained at any point which is why this place lost a star, but thankfully the sides where acceptable to us and tasty. read more

We ended up here not knowing it was their first day opening (under new management). Most of our family got the fish and chips, which was very good. They had some local beers on tap and a nice variety of cocktails. We very much appreciated that they had kids menu options and coloring books available for them as well. Hidden Gem in Cavendish Amazing food, lots of options, great prices and even better staff. We stumbled upon this place during the festival and visited 5 times in a weekend. One of the best patios on the island with Seafood, pub fare, and other options. The Lobster Roll and Burrito Bowl were personal favorites. The food was great but it was the staff that kept us coming back. Manager (Mandy) and her infectious smile and personality was for sure rubbing off on the staff. We will be back again! read more

The Lost Anchor Pub and Galley is more of a restaurant than a pub - the bar has three seats and they use that small spot as a staging area. Nonetheless, we sat at the 'bar' because the dinning rooms was full at 6 pm on a Friday evening (for some reason they were closing early that night). They have several local brews on tap. We ordered the fish and chips and steamed mussels, both were good. The fish was lightly battered and crispy, the mussels a bit small but tasty. Would have been good to serve some toasted garlic bread with the mussels to soak up the tasty juices left in the bowl. They have a small kitchen so it takes a bit for the food to arrive especially if busy. Good find, good food, worth a try. The back deck was closed because of the bad weather but the server said they usually fill up when the weather's nice. Prices were about average for the island. read more

Really disappointed. Maybe it was an off night. Out of seafood chowder and hour and a half before closing. The Deck upstairs has an open floor to the people eating below. Cracks between decking is natural but don't seat people above those eating below. Dirt from those waking upstairs and anything else is coming down. Theres not enough good things I can say about this place. The atmosphere was really nice, the food was amazing we got the lobster and waffles, crab cakes and the fish and chips. We arrived at this place with expectations of it being good, since the other reviewers had said so. However, it was not so good. Husband had the fried chicken burger, and the fried chicken was dry. Fries were good though. I had the lobster roll, and for $20, I have had better and cheaper. Overall, it was kind of disappointing. Found this place unexpectedly when we were shopping in Cavendish. Sat outside on the lower deck and had a pleasant experience. Ordered BBQ wings to start that were fresh and delicious. On my quest to find the best lobster roll on PEI, we stopped in for lunch. Very friendly staff and the owner was very informative. We ordered the lobster roll and the Anchor burger. Both were served on a fresh made chive bun. The lobster roll was stacked! Not with just small chunks but with whole claws. It was dressed perfectly with homemade mayo and seasoned with dill and chives. This is hands down the best lobster roll I have tried! The Anchor burger was really good. On the same chive bun with their mayo. The grilled onions were perfect and had a hint of ginger. The fries were good but the potato salad was incredible. Seasoned warm potatoes on a bed of fresh greens with feta and cherry tomatoes. I cannot imagine ever coming to PEI and not visiting this restaurant! read more

The decor was really cute with a nautical feel to it, they could probably afford to put some sort of table cloth on their tables as they were all sticky. The food was great and didn't take long at all. I had the anchor burger, t was cooked well and the toppings were all well picked, however, the bun was quite soggy. Lost Anchor could probably afford to find some new buns or find a way to make their potato bun thicker/more robust. All in all the food was good and the atmosphere was nice. read more

This marks three summers in a row of coming here the day we arrive to PEI and absolutely love it. Extremely good food and cheap prices. The staff are also very nice and caring. I'd recommend this place to anyone heading to the area. Great service, quality food, nice bright environment, fair portions, awesome patio. Could go on and on about how great this place is. Their burgers are great, the bacon wrapped scallops are fantastic and that red sauce they have is tastes so unique and good. Their Oreo donut dessert is so good. Warm and sweet! This place is a must go!! Just FYI, like most places in Cavendish, this place is seasonal so make sure it's open before you go. Usually labour day weekend is their last. read more
