This place doesn't do anything wrong. If you're looking for some southern style food, this is a good option. It's a little bland and cookie cutter, definitely not a date night type of place. I would recommend this place if you have family in town and people can't decide what they want. If you need to compromise with an acquaintance because of food preference perhaps? My boyfriend and I met there on 01/26/2026 for dinner and sat at the bar. The food was decent and service was reasonable fast. However, shortly after we began eating our dinner I noticed a very foul smell. It was the bartender wiping down the bar just inches from our plates with a rag that stank badly of dirty water and some type of chemical. My boyfriend asked the bartender to not do this while we were eating and she basically said that she knows it smells strong but she "has to" start her close down process at this time. It was 8pm. Basically she was saying, I know this may ruin your meal but I am going to do this anyway. She could have suggested that we move to a table before she started this stinky process just inches from our plates but she did not. There were no apologies offered. My boyfriend called the restaurant the next day to provide feedback and asked for a manager and was told they were not available but would call him back. Its been two weeks and no one has returned the call yet. I rarely write a bad review but clearly this restaurant does not care about the customer experience. FOOD: The brussel sprouts are the star of the show. I could make a whole meal out of these. Shrimp and grits, out of this world. Delicious, cheesy and well prepared grits topped with plenty of spicy shrimp. Friday night fried fish special. Nice crispy, tender halibut served with a tasty coleslaw and fries. The loaded Idaho potato was perfect and huge. The Caesar salad was good as well. We had the biscuit bread pudding with happy sauce, not a crumb left. SERVICE: Very efficient, they get you in and out. From time to time, a scratch kitchen comes along to tantalize your tastebuds and make you come back for more! I actually never had Brussels sprouts because they smelled like farts. Sorry for the foul language, but Brussel Sprouts are smelly. Roasted with garlic cloves and a little bacon, the Basalmic drizzle set the whole dish off. By the way...this was just the appetizer. I usually grab a beer when I opt for an alcoholic beverage with my meal, but today, I went with a Smoke and Berry cocktail. The Smokey aftertaste was INCREDIBLE. I wanted to ask what was in it, but my wife slapped me with a menu and made me look. I don't remember what was in that drink, but it was fruity and Smokey....and you KNOW I love some good smoke. We got the Noodle Salad with Shrimp (wife and I share everything so that we can have dessert). The flavors that came through on this dish were perfect in every way. The shrimp were big and delicious and we were glad we went with this light entree. AND THEN...Pecan Pie. This is like no pecan pie on the planet as there is a beautiful custard in the middle instead of that weird opaque jelly that they pass off as pie filling. This goo usually lives inside a pecan crusted top, but today, the custard reigned supreme! We were greedy and had a piece of pie each. Last time we shared and I got a fork lodged in my rib cage. When she calls last piece, you recognize that the last piece of this magnificent pecan pie will be fought over...and sometimes it is better to concede and live to eat more pie tomorrow. read more

First time here tonight. Came after serving at church and met up with our small group leaders for dinner. My girlfriend had the white cheddar burger minus the cheese and loved the flavor of it. I had the shrimp po boy sandwich on a baguette. It was delicious. Personally, I think it would better if the shrimp was blackened instead of being breaded and fried. Everything I read about the ribs here were true. They fell off the bone very easily and were very tasty, but ask for a side of extra sauce. The ribs and chicken combo platter was $26. The chicken tasted great, but I needed to dunk it in the jalapeño cheddar grits to get some flavor. Those grits were great and the cowboy burger looked and tasted great as well. The $12 side of Mac and cheese needed more cheese, but had plenty of bacon. Great homemade lemonade also. read more

Been here before and it was lovely the first time. Last night we were sat at a booth and then no one came by for about 15-20 mins. Waiters walked by but no one ever stopped. We flagged down a manager and she took our order. The food was still good! But my complaint is how DIRTY this place is. We were sat at the booths to the left when you walk in. There was probably about 3" of dust on all the shelves and cookbooks they have for decor. The table we were sat at hadn't been wiped off before we were seated there and the overhead lights looked like they've never been cleaned. Kinda grossed me out. This place needs a deep clean and servers who are more attentive to their patrons. read more

If you need somewhere new to go, and aren't afraid to spend a little extra on it, The Macintosh is something special. Located in a pretty safe area, this restaurant makes you forget you are in the desert. We started out with the creamy burrata and toast with spicy jam and arugula, and followed it with the waldorf chicken salad that tasted fresh and seasonal. Paired with the fun Domaine Ste Michelle 'Brut' and it was the perfect combination. The only downside is it can get pretty pricey for a 2 "$" restaurant, which is why I made it 4/5 stars; but overall, it was a great time and amazing atmosphere. There were only two of us and we were super super hungry! We got the some specials from the small plates menu: BBQ Chicken Wings and Chicken and Biscuit to kick off the eating spree. The chicken wings were very good and cooked perfectly. The chicken biscuit, the chicken was good, the biscuit was a little dry. I order the Fish Fry Dinner since it was Friday and it was the special, the fish was very good. My niece got a salad. We got the Butterscotch pecan pie! Everything was wonderful! Had fun checking this place out tonight! Waited at the front for a while and no one came to seat people and it didn't even seem like they had an actually host stand, but we just sat at the bar it was not a problem! I started off with a margarita which was $2 off for happy hour! We also got biscuits to start which was a great choice. They are crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. Sweet without being overly sweet, and the honey butter was the perfect touch. I got a portabella sandwich which was fine just a little plain for me. The kale and spinach I had as my side was pretty good! My husband got a brisket sandwich with no additional bbq sauce or slaw or anything and he said it was still a bit too saucy but otherwise good. Also we saw a big jar of gummy candies and asked about them and they gave us a couple to try which was nice. The bartenders were really sweet and helpful. I liked the vibe too. Fun place! read more

I had the small Grassroots Chopped Salad with added chicken which they forgot to bring. When I asked about it, I got an incredibly small ramekin of rotisserie chicken breast that was really bland. I thought "This is weird, but I like the salad so remember do not order the side of chicken here again." I should have probably said something, but frankly I was having such a good time catching up with my friend it seemed like a bit of a bother. We were celebrating said friend's birthday and our delightful server brought us some Heavenly Biscuit Pudding for dessert. We appreciated the gesture and the pudding. Overall, good experience. We came to the Macintosh for girls dinner and it didn't disappoint! We were in no rush and def took our time. We ordered a bittle of wine and started with some delicious apps. Their brussel sprout appetizer is to die for! (If you've experience Twisted Grove or The Collins then you know what I'm talking about!) They are part of the same Common Ground restaurant group. The presentation is equally as outstanding as the taste. Service was great and we were one of the last few tables left. Closed the place down with our wine and gabbing! Hostess on 9/18 around noon was a bit off-putting and acted like she didn't want to seat me because I didn't have a reservation at this little hole in the wall spot we came across in a strip mall. I told her we were happy to wait and she had us sit off to the side while we just sat and watched the open tables for 10 minutes or so before she sat us at one of the many tables. Still unsure why she did this but I can only assume maybe a punishment for not having a reservation lol.
