Had a great dinner here. Reserved for 8pm in the Wyeth room, but when I arrived there was not a table ready there and so I was provided a seat in the bar area instead. No big deal, I was a party of one, and they were quite busy on the Saturday night that I went. Service is impeccable, really no complaints there. The food came out fast, even though they were quite busy. The food was great as well, though I wasn't a particularly big fan of the wood-fired beets (if you like horseradish on beet, you would like them). Fried oysters were great, I mean really good. Spaghetti with guanciale is absolutely incredible; key lime pie similarly amazing. Overall, I'll be back here. Plan to spend at least $50 per person. What a great location. read more

Choice for Dinner, skip the Holidays We came here once before and had a really good experience, which is why we decided to book a 2:00 PM reservation to celebrate Mother's Day. We understood it would be a limited holiday brunch menu instead of the regular dinner menu, which was fine. However, by the time we sat down to order, almost all of the options were already sold out. Our entire table basically had to order the exact same thing because there was nothing else left. The space is lovely and it's a nice spot for a regular dinner, but they were definitely not equipped for the holiday rush. Don't go for Mother's Day. read more

Friends made reservations at Walter's for all of us to celebrate a number of special occasions since it's their go-to special place. Great choice! The decor is classy without being at all stuffy. We were seated in a corner table that was tough to get into and netted us more than a few bumps from servers and other patrons, however. The staff otherwise was really great and were happy to tell us about menu changes that came about after much of the staff went to Europe. Which reflects well onnthe owners. Our food was really amazing, less the somewhat soggy frites that came with the mussels. We also agreed that the key time pie could have been much lime-ier. What can I say? I think this was the great place to end our weekend in Maine. The restaurant was beautiful and we were seated right away and it felt like we were in a huge dining room. We had a beautiful view of the fireplace. Service was great. Our server was really nice and attentive. We started with our cocktails that were so good. For appetizers we opted for the ribs and I am not a rib person, but these were outstanding, the flavors.... For dinner, we had the duck and chicken Milanese highly recommend both. This was our first visit and I wish we went sooner. Food was excellent. Every dish was delicious and had fresh ingredients. This is elevated cuisine without being overly fancy. One of the best meals we have had in York. The fresh asparagus with crab sauce was wonderful, as was the fried cheese with an asiago cream sauce. Both a must try from the starter menu. Dinners were the short rib served over cheddar mashed. Replaced the spinach option with the potato and so glad we did. So good. The other entree was the roasted duck with XO sauce. Cooked perfectly and with a crispy skin. Served over fried rice served on a bed of the sauce and yogurt. Perfect compliment. Our entire bill for 2 cocktails, 2 starters, and 2 entrees came to $117 before tax and tip. You cannot find this quality food for that price anywhere else. Service was also excellent. There was constant attention without being overwhelming. Our server Courtney was on the mark. The service from others for water refills, to food delivery, and attention to detail was a very high level of care. All was perfectly choreographed for a full dinning room . So unusual to see such great front of house training for service. Dining room was lively and very cozy. Beautiful fireplace with seating for cocktails. The restaurant was immaculate. The fire place made the place feel cozy and our waiter was excellent. The wait staff did an excellent job at keeping our table clear and making sure our drinks were always filled. For a starter we had the asparagus with a crab hollandaise sauce which was very good though slightly salty. For our entrees we had the smoked duck and short rib. Both entrees were excellent. For dessert we had the espresso gele and key lime pie. Both desserts were good. Would definitely visit again!!! read more

My husband and I were visiting for the night when we happened to drive by Walker's. The charming sign out front caught our eye, so we decided to make a reservation--and we're so glad we did! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The hostess greeted us with genuine enthusiasm and was eager to share her recommendations, which set a great tone for the evening. Our server, Brayden, was outstanding--attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. He recommended the cauliflower appetizer, and wow--he was right. It was light, flavorful, and served with the most amazing sauce. For our entrées, I had the short rib and my husband ordered the duck. We both agreed they were hands-down the best meals we've had dining out--cooked to perfection with rich, well-balanced flavors. Although we didn't save room for dessert, we opted for espresso martinis to cap off the meal. To our surprise, our server brought out a complimentary fresh-made doughnut--still warm, topped with homemade ice cream. It was absolutely to die for. Highly recommend Walker's! This is a bit overdue, but my first visit was in June and I enjoyed many dishes, drinks, and dessert. Our server Ryan offered knowledgeable and friendly service, and there were moments when several staff whisked in to place or clear several dishes at once like a gracefully choreographed performance. Charming mismatched plates, great wallpaper, the smell of firewood, and beautiful food left a great impression. It's clear this team takes pride in the good work of excellent food and service. My favorite dishes were the fried oysters, short rib, and for dessert doughnuts! Honestly, I rarely eat dessert (I prefer amaro) but that doughnut melted in my mouth, it was so so good. Had dinner here on Saturday 8/30/25 to celebrate my girl friend's birthday (she specifically requested we dine here while we in Maine for the weekend celebrating her birthday & Labor Day). I had made reservations well in advance to be sure we would bet able to get a table. When we arrived we both loved the decor and the homey atmosphere, we had the pleasure of having Molly as our server and she took excellent care of us! We started with the Whole Roasted Cauliflower as our appetizer , it was a huge head of cauliflower, wood roasted with a delicious honey/soy like glaze , in spite of its size we ate all of it! For entrees I chose the Wood Fired Pork Chop , which was huge also and one of the best pork chops I have had. My gf got a Chicken dish that she enjoyed very much too. The only "complaints" I have are I had notified them in advance that we were celebrating my gf's birthday but when it came time for dessert they did put a candle in the donuts we got but they charged us for it (most restaurants cheerfully offer something gratis if they know you are celebrating a special occasion with them & notify them in advance) and I asked for a "Pain Killer" for a cocktail but was told they could not make it because they didn't have coconut cream , (again I would have expected they would have comped our dessert especially since I e-mailed the owner Danielle personally in advance but received no response back from her) but we still had a great dinner. Molly could not have been nicer & the food was great, just think they need to be more "attentive" to their customers when they choose to celebrate special occasions at their restaurant. read more

Walker's did an amazing job catering our recent wedding! My wife and I have dined at Walker's several times, and have absolutely loved all of the meals we've had there, so we were so excited to have them cater our wedding! Appetizers at our cocktail hour were amazing (the mini lobster rolls and raw bar were a big hit), and the dinner and service were excellent. Guests were served very promptly, and we had SO many people tell us how much they loved the food. This meal was the best on our trip to the coast of Maine. The cauliflower, duck and doughnuts were all worthy of staying on the menu forever. That broth on the cauliflower was to die for and the duck was the most tender we've ever eaten. The restaurant itself is precious, however it does get loud in that big room. I'd opt to eat in the bar area if I could come back. The service is good but kind of all over the place. There are a lot of people there but there doesn't seem to be an organized system. Would it be over the top to say that with every bite the angels were singing?? Probably. But suffice it to say we diners did love every bite of our perfect meals. Walkers does mostly reservations except at the bar, but four of us had no problem getting a table in the dining room by doing a walk in right at opening time. The country house decor, including wood burning fireplaces and overall atmosphere at Walkers is fantastic and sets the stage for the amazing food and service to come. Complimentary focaccia bread with a nice fruity olive oil started off the meal. We sampled the crispy potatoes as a starter, which were served drizzled with a chimichurri sauce, before moving on to entrees of wood roasted haddock, pork chop, roasted cauliflower, chicken cutlet, and sides of carrots and beets. Portions were quite large and were served with sides that complimented each dish, such as couscous, garlic mashed, creamed spinach. The wine list had some nice options including a lovely orange wine- Crotin Malvasia Comporotondo that paired perfectly with the dishes we ordered. The cocktail menu was similarly varied with some interesting sounding drinks- the only one we tried was a dessert cocktail which had pistachio, orange, cognac and was sooo good! Key Lime pie was our other choice for dessert and it was excellent. An additional compliment is deserved for their awareness of and accommodations for diners who have a gluten allergy. My wife and the other couples asked for a "simple" white wine to accompany their meal. Holy Shit 20 $$ a glass white wine, you must be joking. It added an extra 40$ to the bill. We had a nice meal at Walkers after a matinee play at the Ogunquit playhouse. We had a wonderful server, Grace, who did everything she could to make our meal special. The restaurant also employs some very young help who run food to the table, and they are all professional and a delight. They have a somewhat open kitchen, and our seat afforded us a nice view of the action. As another reviewer noted, there could be an issue with the fireplace. Suddenly the flames grew large and the room filled with smoke. They needed to open the windows, and it was the first chilly day of the summer. Things happen! We had to change our smoky clothes when we got home. Food is good as were the cocktails. We started with the roasted cauliflower, a generous portion with nice smoky flavors. More than enough for two to share, and perhaps even for four to share. I had the short rib, which I was told was one of their most popular dishes, and while it was good, it fell a bit short of others I've had. Unfortunately, there was just too much fat to deal with. I know, it is short rib, but I prefer when it is served leaner with the fat completely rendered away. So, once I cut away the fat I was left with a fairly small piece of meat, albeit tasty, but hard to justify the price. The wood roasted Haddock on the other hand was a very generous and delicious portion of fish. Do not skip the donuts for dessert! If I were to have them again, I would ask that the ice cream be served on the side, and not on top of the donut. A few things to note, this is a popular restaurant and reservations are a must. They use Tock, my least favorite reservation platform. Note that you will be charged $20pp deposit and $1 fee to make a reservation. This is not credited back at dinner, but refunded to your credit card later. This seems to be the norm when using Tock. I've always received my refund, but I mention it so that you are not surprised if you are a first time user of Tock. Give Walkers a try when in the York/Ogunquit area read more

Food and service were very good but the noise level was off the charts. When we go to a nice upscale restaurant, we expect to be able to have a conversation with the other couple but very difficult here. No excuse for not even attempting to reduce the noise level. In driving back to Newburyport, I realized that my eyes were stinging due to the fireplace smoke. The noise keeps us from ever going back. read more

We had the rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks event for our son's wedding weekend here a few weeks ago and tbh I'm still thinking about it! Owners and staff provided next level service, truly above and beyond. I literally dropped off flower arrangements and 100+ welcome bags and when we arrived later that day everything was beautifully displayed and waiting for us. The food was fabulous especially the pork chop, the cauliflower and the to-die-for doughnuts! The cocktails were awesome as well. This place absolutely blew our minds, and we would make it a point to travel up just to experience this again. We went on Valentines Day, and it was the most professional, yet calm and laid back beautiful ambiance we've ever experienced on the holiday. We started with what was truly the best caesar salad I've ever had and was perfect split between two people. I enjoyed the halibut as my main, over a fabulous Israeli couscous with a Peruvian green sauce. My husband's dish, the short rib kofta, was probably one of the top 5 best entrees we have EVER had anywhere and it was beautifully plated. When we decided to return to the area for a visit after 4 years, Walkers was on our repeat list. Our return visit to the warm and welcoming restaurant, prior to Thanksgiving, reignited our 5 star appreciation for the food, ambiance and service. We started with a cocktail and a mocktail. Through the Orchard marries Titos, local apple cider, apple brandy and a simple syrup of clove and cardamom. Perfect for autumn tidings, fireside. My wife's mocktail, the Partly Cloudy, replaced the dark rum and kept pineapple, lemon, ginger beer and local honey. Deliciously served in a cheeky Batman's comic tall glass, a nod to the under 21 crowd. The servers were attentive and knowledgeable on the menu items. We were told that the mussels on the starter menu had been replaced by their French onion soup. That was an easy choice for both of us. Mozzarella and Gouda were the melted brown crowns on the crock. The delicious hot pool of beef broth, soft onions and crusty bread slices hid under the canopy of cheeses. A perfect foil for the chilly, drizzly weather outside. As we waited for our entrees, the server brought a wood bowl of large cubes of fresh sourdough bread for dipping in the accompanying olive oil and herbs. My choice of Maine salmon broiled skin on was a tasty departure from other Maine seafood offerings. The saffron aioli drizzled on the plate was a sour cream and sesame oil. Two tempura onion rings topped the salmon. The sides were an Asian noodle, roasted tofu and vegetables. The Asian themed dish worked well. My wife enjoyed her wood fired pork chop. The potato/cheddar mashed with bacon was a highlight accompaniment with a complimenting demi glaze. Of course we were tempted by desserts but we rationalized our 'no thanks' with thoughts of Thanksgiving dinner to come. We were so impressed by Walkers! Wow! We were returning from a trip at Cliff House and decided to stop here for dinner on a snowy December evening. Ambiance is incredible from the fireplaces in the main dining room, to the front entry and the bar area; the Christmas lights, candles, eclectic and beautiful dinnerware and various different seating arrangements. Service was impeccable- from the waiter's knowledge of all the ingredients and explanation of the cooking process to the attentiveness and timeliness of everything we ordered. We had the whole roasted cauliflower to start- the wood fired flavor along with the au jus was a pleasure! We had the short rib kofta which was also excellent. We're big fans of Walkers Maine. We had our third or maybe fourth meal there about a month ago, and it did not disappoint. The food, cocktails, service, ambiance, and cleanliness were all excellent, as always. Perhaps the best part of Walkers Maine, however, is that it's not located in a bustling tourist area. It has its own parking and thrives on its own merits, not just on foot traffic. Be sure to make a reservation, especially during peak season. We took our friend for her birthday and had the best experience, the staff was sweet, the vibe was cozy, and the food was delicious. We started with the crab rangoons - a must - and then moved on to our entrees. Three of us shared a bottle of wine from their incredible wine list and one of us had a mocktail that they loved. For my main I had the wood fire pork dish was so good, but the thing to die for was the cheddar mashed potatoes. I will dream about them for days! Someone else got the duck, which is a fav! Finally made it here. Wonderful, farm to table restaurant. Their dishes are mainly prepared on an open fire set up. It was a great experience to be able to see them preparing the food. The staff do an exceptional job on service and you can clearly see how hard they work. I found them very attentive. The decor and ambiance is brilliant. You almost get a feel of sitting in someone's cozy house with the large central fireplace. It was a tad on the noisey side but not bad. Everyone was probably talking about how wonderful the food is and you cant fault everyone having a great time. They have lovely outdoor sitting as well as bar seating. I would suggest you make a reservation as they seem to fill up quickly. To start, they give you fresh focaccia bread with oil and herbs. They have a very nice selection of cocktails, beer, and wine. We had the grilled cauliflower and it was fantastic. Grilling changes the whole texture and flavor of the vegetable so if you have someone who does not like raw cabbage, I really think they would enjoy this dish. The chicken wings were amazing!! I had the grass fed beef steak and potatoe croquettes. The beef was a little on the cooler side. It comes sliced. It was cooked perfectly but I prefer my beef to be tender. I found it to be on the chewy side and would not get that again. Also, I feel it was missing a veggie side to go with the potatoe. We also had the BBQ pork and it was fantastic. It was very tender and pulled right off. They have nice after dinner drinks, coffee and tea. All meals are served on beautiful vintage plates. For dessert, we had 2 brioche donuts with ice cream. This was so delicious and a highlight of our experience. It was easily shareable by 2-3 people. They forgot my tea and our dessert was finished before they came back so that was disappointing but forgiven. A little on the pricer side but to me perfectly priced for the whole experience and paying for great staff that they clearly higher. read more
