I've been a consistent customer of The Studio New York for the past 8 months and I honestly couldn't imagine going anywhere else to get my hair done! I've had my color done by Shalyn multiple times and every single time she does an amazing job! She is always attentive and listens to what I want. We discuss color options and look at pictures before anything is applied to my hair - the first time I went to her we met a few days prior for a complimentary consultation so that she could familiarize herself with my hair type. She is such a wonderful stylist that she even spends her own free time looking at color/styles she think I would like so that we can discuss them at my next appointment. I have grown to trust Shalyn with my hair and I can't imagine seeing anyone else for color. I've also had my hair cut and styled by Elena, as recommended by Shalyn. Once again, I couldn't be happier. Elena is extremely talented and gave me exactly what I wanted. I enjoyed her services so much that I booked another service with her about a week later. The studio itself is always very clean and the other stylists and employees are some of the nicest people I've ever met. On multiple occasions the salon has called me to see if I would like to come in earlier than my scheduled time, which is so considerate, especially for nighttime appointments. They have also gone out of their way to fit me into the schedule last minute. When my amazing hairstylist, Amanda, moved from a salon she worked at in Huntington to The Studio in Babylon Village, I have to admit I was disappointed as I live in Huntington. Of course I (and my daughter, and niece) followed Amanda to The Studio and knew from the start why Amanda decided to make the move and set up shop at their salon. Everyone there from the front desk (Dawn--love her--everyone should have a Dawn managing their business!) to the entire professional and oh so friendly staff made the trip from Huntington so worthwhile! I now also have the best makeup artist in the world, Donna (who is the owner of the salon). When she was done I could not believe it was me (Lol)! She's the Picasso of makeup!! I truly looked like I came out of a magazine! I felt like I had a facelift too (lol)! I have been going to the studio for a couple of years now. I absolutely have no complaints. Matthew cuts and colors my hair when I need it and also has done my make up quite a few times. One word... phenomenal. I get compliments non stop when he does my makeup and I couldn't live without him for my hair. His personality also goes hand in hand with his talent. I've gone to Ashley for my bridal hair trial and she was just wonderful. I've been to Reese and a couple of other women as well for up do's. I am never disappointed. The front desk is always a pleasure to deal with. Dawn is an amazing woman and a lovely voice and face of the studio. I've spoken with Jaqueline several times as well and she is a sweetheart. I have been going to the makeup studio for years ever since my cousins wedding and I am beyond impressed with the service every single time! Donna did my makeup for my wedding and I have never felt more beautiful in my entire life. My makeup lasted all night! I recommend her to everyone! I am one of those people who walks into a salon and says I have no idea what I want to do. After finding Shalyn I finally found someone who gets the things that will make me look great and will also fit in with my maintenance schedule. Whenever I go in for an appointment I find that Shalyn has already spent time that week thinking about how she was going to do my hair. I never feel rushed out of the salon and I've always been extremely happy with whatever Shalyn has worked out for hair. She is truly an artist who dies this because she loves it. Im confident enough that I give her almost complete control over my color direction and it's so nice to have one less thing to think about! This past weekend my sister in law got married! The wedding party had our hair done by a stylist not associated with The Studio earlier that morning who did a beautiful job. However the weather was rainy and the photographer suggested photos at argyle lake. After being outside for 20 minutes taking pictures my sister in laws hair was destroyed and she was devastated! As we drove to the venue we passed The Studio and I ran inside. I explained the situation and the women at the front desk were kind as can be! They told me to bring her in immediately and they would get someone to fix her hair right away! A half hour later my sister in laws hair was GORGEOUS! They did an incredible job and were so kind to us! Her hair looked fabulous the rest of the night! The Studio saved the day and we are SO grateful to them for their kindness! I would just like to respond to Danielle N. Yes there was a error in the booking on my part ... Which I took full responisbilty for. She neglected to mention that I went above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable with her Artist that was provided to her the day of her wedding ... As stated in the contract. AS WELL AS Her 100 dollar deposit being returned and she was not charged for her makeup for her wedding , which was done beautifully without a trial by myself or the other artist . I whole heartedly apologized and my reputation exceeds itself beyond one bad review with someone who has an axe to grind. I can not say anything but good things about The Make Up Studio. I have recieved many different services here ranging from airbrush tans to cut and color. I have been getting my hair colored by Danielle and getting cut and styled by Ashley for months, I could not be happier. Recently,Danielle transformed my hair from a single process brown to the stylish and trendy look of an ombre. I recieve nothing but compliments anywhere I go and I do not hesitate to tell them where I go, THE MAKE UP STUDIO! I see Donna Schoppmeyer at The Studio. I followed her here from her previous salon because she is that amazing! She always has a smile on her face and a story to tell. Her cut and color are amazing! I have thick hair that I always hated growing up, but ever since Donna, it has been silky and amazing. I've been getting a glaze for a while now and it always comes out fantastic. She will often suggest new colors to try and is always good for advice! The salon itself is super clean and stylish. Everyone who works there always greets me by name and with a smile. I was going to a different salon for years and decided I needed a change, I tried out so many salons until I found the studio. This hair salon is beautiful and the workers at the salon are amazing. Dani dyes my hair and she is the nicest woman ever, and she knows exactly what she is doing! She will never say she can't do something you want and will try and get your hair to the color you want in one sitting. I highly recommend getting your hair colored by Dani. I had the best experience today with Jamie and Kristen. I gave Jamie full control over my cut today. I brought in a picture of an idea of what I wanted and she executed it perfectly. She made some minor adjustments to suit my face by making the cut a little longer than the picture. I'm pretty sure she cut off at least 2 feet of hair. Having always had long hair, short hair was frightening, but it was time for a change. Next up was Kristen, who worked her magic and I went from a dark brown hair to a caramel color with highlights. This is such an incredible place! I've gotten my hair done by Matthew and he is SO AMAZING!!! I never have to worry he is going to do anything short of an AMAZING job on my color, cut, etc. In addition, I get my makeup done by Nicholas CONSTANTLY and would recommend him and Matthew for ANY event !!! Nicholas' work is beautiful and I trust him 100% to always do an incredible job on my makeup. He puts his clients' wants first, but ALWAYS takes such pride in his work to make sure the client is ALWAYS happy and looks her best. I have been to lots of salons over many years however, once I found Shalyn as my colorist, I finally had no reason to keep moving around from salon to salon. Yes, I'm very picky. I recently had my hair colored and blown out at the studio! Great salon with a very Energetic atmosphere! I would highly recommend the colorist Danielle i used... I am a blonde and like my Highlights done a certain way, she accomplished exactly The look I was going for!
