You would hardly know this restaurant is here because it shares a building with other businesses and can't be seen from the street. We were first to arrive, but shortly thereafter people started piling in and the place was full. There were 4 of us and we shared a General Tao's, Kung Pao Chicken and a Fried Rice that had chicken, beef and shrimp. We didn't want leftovers because we were going out for the night, so this amount of food was perfect for our meal, in addition to the soup and egg roll we had first. Food was all decent, just not fantastic. The two dishes could have been spicier. Service was extremely good and prices are average for a restaurant of this type.

This place is great! Seated quick, host was also our server, interesting decor, lovely 150 gallon tank in the middle of the restaurant with koi, soups delicious, tea (never tried EVER before) I devoured it. Wanton soup could do with a little more salt but it's delicious. Moo Gu Gai Pan (veggies and chicken in sauce) is delicious (but needs a little more salt) fried rice AMAZING! And water is well water (giggles) strange fortune in my cookie but very nice experience.

I have tried many of the dishes available at this restaurant and have never receieved any platter that I would not deem beyond satisfactory.

Thi Ni Thai is conveniently located in downtown Oberlin by the Oberlin College. It conveniently has…read morea large parking lot in the back. It is also open on Mondays unlike many other restaurants in the area. The restaurant has a very cute mural outside. Inside it's very colorful and has cute Thai art on the walls. It's definitely a place that looks authentic. I read the menu while inside and it had so many choices including cocktails and many food options. Many choices for any taste! I was really looking forward to trying Thai food here. Unfortunately, I ended up walking in and out due to disappointing service or the lack thereof. When I walked in (almost at 7 PM), there was a long line of diners that were not acknowledged. They were confused and asking each other where to wait and who will take their table reservation. It was very unclear where the hostess is, where to pick up orders, or wait for a table. The restaurant is very small and was overpacked on a Monday night. I had to wait an extremely long time right in front of the hostess to be acknowledged. The wait time for a table was 45 minutes to 1 hour. The wait for to go order was also 45 minutes. I would probably wait but it was scorching hot inside despite it being it being the 70's outside. I was hoping that the service would be more attentive. My suggestion to anyone visiting is to figure out a time when they're not busy. The food is probably very good, but get ready for not so good service and extended waits.

As someone who has visited Thailand and is familiar with Southeast Asian flavors, I found that the dishes here leaned much sweeter than how it's traditionally made, but they were still good. We tried the Boat Noodles and Khao Soi, both very flavorful. The portions are good but I find that both needed much more broth. It's a cute space, plus great cocktail and mocktail options
