I came here for a birthday celebration with a group of friends. We ate outside on one of the porches, even though it was raining, we stayed dry. The inside of this place has wall to wall alcohol and is a maze to walk through! They have beer, wine and other spirits from all over the world, including many specialty and international brands and drinks. They even carried one of my favorite Belgian ales - Lambic (Framboise flavor) so that was a pleasant surprise! I ordered the custom grass fed burger with bacon and fries and it was juicy and delicious. We brought our own birthday cake, but thoroughly enjoyed various drinks and shots after our meal. Service was slow, but it was to be expected during a time when most restaurants are extremely short staffed. Our first server was very short and rude, and after we complained and requested a different server we had a better experience (so four stars for that). Next time I come here I hope to dine on the rooftop, as that was our original plan before the weather got unfavorable. read more

The restaurant has a ton of space, great for entertaining. However, I find there should be a sign at the entrance w/ where to go & to seat yourself for first timers. Service could be better but I think that is because you can be easily missed if your server is busy and misses you seating yourself. Location is great- they have several dining options. Rooftop (must be 14+). Inside in the taproom or in their garden. Service was slow and not super coordinated. There was quite a lag time between some people getting their lunch and others. We were a large party and three of us waited a long time for our meals after the rest of the party had their food. People with fries - they had to chase someone down for ketchup. And that still took almost 10 min. Also they didn't check on us for a LONG time - so refills of drinks was near the end of our meal. My real gripe- The food wasn't particularly good. Crab cakes were 90% bread filling. Tuna tacos were really boring. Hamburgers were just ok. Nachos were very unevenly layered. Wouldn't be eager to go back for anything but drinks - as they have a very cool looking cellar I would want to visit. read more

Went for a late lunch on my off Friday...not the most intuitive seating in the world. Hard to really figure out where the dining room was and after not finding any tables in any semblance of shade up on the balcony....HINT for management = figure out a way to have more shade. So we ended up in the bar we think. There was a bar. It was loud. and did I mention it was very loud....and we and one other table were all that was in there....the room just echoed...There must be something to soften the echo.....really We saw our waitress seemed to be working at the bar and all the tables outside. We sat and 10 minutes later we were getting our water. After another 15 minutes, our appetizer came out....a little disconcerting when the waitress now confirms our order.....and 15 more minutes until our lunch arrived. I ordered a Tavern House salad with chicken. While my wife ordered the Rajun' Cajun Chicken Sandwich. Our app was the Bavarian Pretzel Sticks....oh man were they good. The beer cheese and the sticks themselves were great together and a good size portion. A MUST TO TRY. My salad came out and it was a nice portion and the chicken was well cooked. The dressing was delicious and the whole thing was a delight. The sandwich was huge. We took half home. It was spicy but not too much and just as good the next day. Plenty of flavor and heat. But well balanced, It was a bit hectic and looking at all the running around we were not sure it would be pulled off. But they platooned the service with several folks checking our drinks and expediting our app and entrees. Nice to see the teamwork. I'm bummed to even have to write this review because I have loved visiting The Mansion for years, but their business practices during the pandemic are pretty alarming. I stopped in a couple of weeks ago with my husband for lunch. When we walked in we noticed that none of the tables seemed to be distanced apart at all and that none of the staff were wearing masks. The only person wearing one was what appeared to be a beer rep sitting at the bar. After sitting and contemplating what we were going to do, my husband decided to just go ahead and ask the waitress if any of the staff wore masks. She pretty harshly replied with, "no and we don't have to". So we told her to have a good day and left. We called around to a few places in the area and pretty quickly found a place about a mile down the road where all the staff wore masks despite Brevard County not having a mandate. Truthfully, I don't know if I'll be back after the pandemic "goes away" unless the management decide to do the right thing by protecting their employees and customers. read more

If you're ever in Melbourne beach; this has to be a food destination for you. Granted, finding a hostess is a little tricky, just follow the signs they've got set up. Once you do, they'll ask if you want to sit up on the patio where you get a great view of the area/water. you can sit inside which is very nicely decorated, or they have a nice little garden area which is also really pretty to dine at. The day was nice so we sat up on the patio with the view. Service was great! Very friendly! We found out that most of the breads are made in house. So if you order a sandwich here or the pretzel app; its made fresh daily. I ordered the fish tacos. Really delicious and filling, good quality fish. My friends ordered the blackened salmon sandwich and the shrimp po'boy. All of which was delicious. The po'boy had a unique sauce that was tangy/savory, really good flavor. the salmon was cooked perfect and very fresh. We were all very impressed with our meals. But it doesn't end there. If you have time, I highly encourage you to check out the wine cellar area. Even if you decide not to have a meal here, this is a great place to buy a bottle and hang out as they have comfortable seats available. Wines seem to start at 14.99 and go up from there. We decided to go here for a 60th Birthday. We wanted something a little different and something special for the birthday. We made reservations online but once we got there we quickly realized we did not need them. There was plenty of open spots. The ambiance was so cool and very beachy. We sat on the rooftop and really enjoyed ourselves. We started with drinks. I ordered an espresso martini, which is something I order when I go out often. When I got my drink it had coffee grounds on the top as some sort of like garnish, again this was a first for me, usually they are garnished with a couple coffee beans, not grounds. This was really odd to me and not enjoyable. Who wants to drink coffee grounds? Anyways, I said something to the waitress and she had them make me a new one without that odd garnish. It ended up being very good. Once we got our food though, I was sold. Everything was absolutely amazing. Fresh, good portions and very flavorful. This is the second year in a row we've chosen this place for Thanksgiving dinner. Turkey and ham dinners were amazing! The portions are beyond what you need and we walked away stuffed! I visited by myself as I moved near-by. the staff was terribly rude and not at all what I am accustomed to. The fish I ordered was fresh mahi mahi and was good but it was mislabeled on the menu. It said over filafel bread with tsasiki sauce. It was actually mahi covered in spinach artichoke dip. They had the bar area reserved which was fine but I would not recommend this place to a friend. This place has a cool atmosphere with nice outdoor seating and good food. It's a good spot to get some drinks and hangout in the garden or on the roof. I've passed by thousands of times and always been called by the colorful globe street lights on the roof. We finally stopped in for a double date night. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I got the fish tacos. They were SUPER seasoned, but I like that. I thought the presentation could have been better but I do appreciate the option to add the toppings myself. The sweet potato fries were bomb. My partner enjoyed his salmon BLT, and the others got burgers and the ahi taco app (Keto friendly). We also ordered the "death by chocolate cake" because who wouldn't? It was a little dry and cold in the middle so wouldn't get this again. The corner tables could benefit from some string lights or tea lights. We were one of only two tables of customers in our area. we had to ask for napkins and silverware AFTER our meal was served. After 3 bites of my food, I developed significant indigestion and was totally disappointed in the taste of food. I asked the waiter if there was anything they could do to which he responded but, he did offer to bring me a box so I could take the remains home, which I declined. I wrote a note of displeasure on my credit card receipt and handed it to the manager asking him to take a look. His only response was to walk away. He was very knowledgeable about the food, even providing a history lesson lol. We both had seafood (sea bass & salmon) & the fish were cooked to perfection. Very soft & flaky and well seasoned. Randomly stopped here on a drive home from Disney. Picked this place out solely based on it's Yelp Reviews. The place is quite large and actually encompasses several different areas including a Deli, Liquor Store, Restaurant and Roof Top Deck. We sat at the Bar on the Roof Top Deck. It was pretty empty as expected for a Tuesday Afternoon. You have pretty decent views of the Indian River from up there. Service was great, fast and friendly. They have a big selection of Draft Beer including a lot of local brews which is always nice to see. I ordered the Build Your Own Burger (Cheddar Bacon Burger). I ordered it cooked medium but it came out loser to well but it was still good, surprisingly not greasy at all and the hamburger bun and toppings all held together. Full disclosure: When this was once upon a time called The Strawberry Mansion, the woman who would eventually become my wife and I had our first dinner together here, on our first night dating. So the restaurant has a special in my heart. Nonetheless, I can tell you, this place is still as good, and honestly much better, than what it was back in the day... Remodeled and rebranded for the times, The Mansion is part restaurant, wine cellar, whiskey bar, craft beer joint, and fine dining rolled into one. Located right outside what is truly considered Downtown Melbourne, it's away from that hustle and bustle, while still being nearby the thick of things. We've been here several times and each time has been a truly great experience. From the service - exceptional, friendly, and chatty (like I like 'em), to the meal - from the appetizers to the desserts, to the large selection of drinks - of all types, it's really one of the can't miss restaurants in the county. What distinguishes the place from other sit-down restaurants is their "cellar" located within just a few steps from the restaurant proper. Within you will find all sorts of wines, all the spirits you know (and then some), and a solid selection of craft brew. In fact, I have purchased plenty a sixer from here while never setting foot in the restaurant area. A nice plus in my book. Simply a "must visit" for Melbourne, FL. We came in around 5 PM and we were hungry. I decided to get the blackened Salmon and I was looking for low-carb alternatives for my sides. The server suggested that I get their green beans and they were cooked perfectly. The salmon had fried capers (or something like that) and the blackened seasoning was perfect with the dish. The portion was not massive but the quality was up with the best I have had and the white wine sauce on the salmon was superb! My wife had the Ahi Tacos and loved them. So I would confidently recommend their tacos to anyone. This is one of those places where you will want to visit again. Let me start out by saying that the service was impeccable. Prompt, courteous, efficient, friendly. Every single member of the wait staff that passed by our table asked if we needed anything. That said ..... The Mansion has been a Melbourne FL staple under many configurations for decades. I went there last evening with my 50 something year old daughter and son. This used to be a favorite haunt of my daughter as she owns a ladies' boutique right down the street. She hadn't been for a while though. My son ordered a steak, my daughter the pork chop and I, being a New Englander/Cape Codder by birth, ordered the lobster roll. We all were surprised that they had no chicken entrees on the menu at all. My son said the steak was tough, full of gristle and flavorless. The pork chop, however, was spot on. It is one of their signature dishes and was near perfect. I took a taste and yes, it was nicely cooked, not overcooked and quite flavorful. The lobster roll was another thing. First of all, why would you serve a lobster roll with sweet potato fries? Secondly, the lobster meat was scarce and quite tough and rubbery. I have cooked many a lobster in my life and while I have ruined a few, and, if they are overcooked, they tend to get mushy not hard and rubbery. With an average price point of $35+ per plate I expected better. The consensus of opinion after we left was unanimous. We will not be returning. read more

Food came out accurately and fast, and was sooo fresh and delicious! Was waiting to take delivery of my new car and was told The Mansion would be a good spot to grab lunch and kill some time. They were right! Easy to find and I hot a parking spot in the lot (many cars were parked along the street). Downstairs were two large groups. One was especially loud celebrating a birthday and definitely enjoying the restaurant! There was no one around to point me where I should go, since I was a solo and not a part of a group. I climbed the stairs and went to the top deck and was surprised by the awesome view. There were probably 30 people up here at 2 separate tables. I just grabbed a seat at the bar. One of the bartenders immediately gave me a glass of water and a menu. Great! I definitely didn't want to be "after" all those other people. I ordered the nachos. Wanted something to snack on. They literally appeared in under 5 minutes!!! Nachos were really, really good and smothered in queso. I chose not to get any meat and no guacamole. Went for dinner here with about 10 friends. We had reservations and were seated quickly. Parking can be tough and you may have to find street parking. This place is an interesting labrynth of separate dining rooms but we ate on the top deck. I ordered the pork chop with mashed potatoes and green beans with gravy. The pork chop was a bit salty. The potatoes, gravy and green beans were ok. I thought the food was a bit pricey for the quality but it was not bad, just eh. The ambiance was very nice. The waitstaff was excellent. The waitress was great and really knew what to do and how to handle a big table. What I did not like was the staff not wearing masks. I know they are not rquired to if they don't want to. Before anyone judges me just understand that I am not a mask nazi. I just think a business should care more about their customers whether real or an imagined risk and wear the mask anyway. I would recommend going here just for the experiece if you have never been to this place. It can be a bit pricey. read more

What a cool place, you can see the water in the distance from the big rooftop bar. They also have an outdoor patio on the ground level, plus a small bar indoors with endless wooden racks of wine, liquor, and beer. However, it's August 2020 and we're in the middle of a pandemic, in a state hotspot, but no sign of social distancing here, and not one staff member had a mask on. Without the pandemic I would suggest this is one cool place to have a drink at (not much to their menu of bar food), but considering management has decided to ignore we're in dangerous COVID times, I would avoid this place like the plague. read more
