    Outside Courtyard

The restaurant is beautifully decorated outside with light and a courtyard area. Inside, was spacious with plenty of room in between tables. The seating was a dark blue velvet decor. We were immediately greeted by the hostess and brought to our table. Our waitress, Kate, was exceptional! She explained everything we needed to know, and gave us ample time to make our decisions on drinks and food. She was friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes on the menu. The bread came out hot and was very tasty. The salmon was very good and came with a tater tot potato which I was not a fan of. The Caesar salad and Wedge salads were excellent. The 8oz Filet Mignon was good, but not worth the $70 price tag considering that it did not come with any sauce or side dish, because it was a-la-carte. The chocolate torte was dense and rich in flavor. I recommend you look at the menu prior to visiting.

Went here to celebrate a birthday a couple of nights ago and will definitely be going back. Our server Tina was great! ( so was the hostess!) She answered me honestly when I asked for her opinion on a side dish and ended up with something really delicious. The ambiance was a little loud due to a large party seated near us but other than that it was a gorgeous restaurant with a nice vibe. The drinks were just ok in my opinion but they do have a great selection so maybe there are better options than what we chose. Overall a good experience. Will be going back!

Bistro salad with sirloin (added roasted beets)

This swanky place is hiding in Melbourne- And if you haven't been at all, or in awhile, you NEED TO! The bread they serve when you sit down is so fluffy, with a crunchy salty rosemary brushing, it was surprisingly good. Another thing that surprised me was the Brussels Sprouts, the tuna appetizer, the sliders, and the pork chops! I was able to try so much because I went with a large group. I ordered the Bistro salad and added 5oz sirloin- which was *plenty* after tasting alllll the other things. Go and enjoy!

8oz filet, loaded baked potato, and signature old fashioned.

The current rating of 3.5 is likely accurate. I gave it a 3 after my first and only experience. The loaded baked potato was great. The signature old fashioned was good, traditional old fashioned would probably be better. The 8oz filet was sold à la cart at $70. I'd say it's about $50 overpriced. It was not seared and lacked the depth of natural flavor that a prime grade filet contains. Ambiance felt cramped. I ate at the bar but had my back to the restaurant and many patrons waiting next to me for their table. Service was below par but likely because the bar was under staffed on this day. Their competitors next door provide a significantly better service. When in doubt, opt for a view.

pros: beautiful ambiance, comfortable bar seating, friendly attentive hostess, menu handed to us via a. iPad which was nice as many pictures of the dishes were on there. Many options on menu such as small plates, medium plates, apps, dinners. We opted to share 2 medium plates. The sliders and lobster risotto. Risotto cooked perfectly and had generous chunks of lobster. Great flavor. The sliders came with 3 and were out of this world melt in your mouth delicious. Espresso martini made with real espresso (very important to me) . Cons: verrrry expensive menu. Some staff give off a pretentious vibe (so unnecessary) , probably could've staffed the bar with more than one bartender.

    - A Feast for All the Senses Ember and Oak isn't just a steakhouse -- it's an experience that blends rustic elegance, culinary precision, and true hospitality. From the moment we walked in, the jewel-toned velvet, glimmering chandelier, and open kitchen set the stage for an unforgettable meal. Our server, Sam, was exceptional -- knowledgeable, warm, and deeply passionate about the menu. She anticipated our needs, made fantastic recommendations, and made us feel like we were in the best possible hands. The bread and butter service alone is worth mentioning -- pillowy, fragrant, and paired with butter so perfectly whipped and seasoned it could be a course on its own. We began with impeccably fresh oysters, followed by artisanal cocktails from Gabriel, a mixologist whose attention to detail and ingredient quality makes each drink both a work of art and a delight to sip. The steak was the star -- beautifully crusted, deeply flavorful, and presented in a way that felt both rustic and refined. Impressively, Ember and Oak can cook a single giant cut multiple ways to accommodate different preferences at the same table. In our case, that meant both medium-rare perfection and a juicy medium-well from the same cut -- a true feat. The sides were just as memorable: the best tots I've had anywhere (crispy outside, tender inside, pure magic), rich and flavorful vegetables, and salads that were crisp and bright. Dessert was a masterpiece -- layered, textured, rich yet somehow light, and the perfect finale to an extraordinary meal. Yes, it's a splurge -- but for a special occasion or a night to remember with friends, it's worth every penny. You won't just leave full; you'll leave overjoyed. 5/5

Soup bowl size risotto. Cup size lobster bisque. Emulsified salad dressing in exchange for red wine vinegar. As we entered the smell of something funky was everywhere like a high school boys gym locker. Soon we found out the smell emulated from some putrid fish served to the next table. Waitresses address everyone by calling them 'my love'. So cringe. In a nutshell, meh food, smelly air.

Excellent food and a beautiful restaurant! The inside has very comfy seats and beautiful lighting as well. We were greeted right away . Our server was excellent- made some good recommendations and made sure to check in on us the perfect amount. The only downside was dinner service was very slow which was hard for us trying to keep our 2 yr old entertained. The bread that they serve melts in your mouth - it's incredible. I got the lobster bisque to start with which was also very good, it had a great lobster taste, but also with a little bit of a kick/spice. Just not a lot of lobster, For dinner I ordered the 10oz sirloin with the Demi glaze and it was cooked perfectly . My husband ordered the ribeye and cleaned his plate . What a wonderful restaurant! We had to bring our 2 year old and thankfully he was on good behavior- the staff were awesome with him too! Thanks for a wonderful birthday dinner !

This place was absolutely amazing. To start off, we came here for a special occasion, and was greeted not only once but three times by the host, server, and manager. The food options are top notch, as is the presentation and tastefulness. To start, we had a few cocktails and beers, along with the Brazilian sliders. For entrees we tried the lobster risotto, steak frites, sirloin, filet mignon, and truffle mac and cheese. I can begin to explain how delicious the food was, along with the attention from our servers. I will be back for special occasions, no doubt!

The owner, Chris C, reached out to me multiple times to make up for my bad experience. I want to make sure that folks that try out Umami know that the owner is conscientious about making sure that you have a great experience at the restaurant. I travel a lot for work and I don't often check my personal email, but I did find out that he eventually gave me a full refund for my meal. It wasn't expected and it did definitely go a long way in making me feel better about the customer service. I think that on any given night any given, RestAurant can have a bad night or have a slip up. Everyone there was having a great time and enjoying their food. I say give them a chance. I'm not from the area so I can't go back any time soon. I suggest you go give them a try and then give them a great write up if you feel like you had a great experience! I ordered the 2 roll lunch special and was hoping for some good tuna rolls. The miso soup and ginger dressing on the salad was well above average. Then the rolls came. The spicy tuna roll had so many flakes on it I could barely find the roll but the tuna has a good heat to it. The tuna crunch roll was good but the tuna didn't taste the freshest. Maybe it was just the piece I got but as someone who's main protein is tuna, this was a bummer. Overall, I would recommend giving this place a try as the food is good and the staff were helpful.
