Stayed here for work last November. It's a nice hotel, very trendy, and in a good location. I was traveling for work so the price wasn't an issue for me (nor do I remember the final bill). Breakfast was included and was a nice perk ... far better than most hotels that I've stayed over the past 10 years of traveling. The in house restaurant is also respectable for a good dinner. My only gripe was with their late night food service (ie, after 10pm). They cut off food ordering downstairs after a specific time (which I get) so I was told I could order room service. The strange thing was that I was told I couldn't bring the food down to eat in the bar area where my colleagues were (finishing up some work). In a city where restaurants and shops close up early, to not provide flexible food options during late evening hours is pretty poor. You're in hospitality and I doubt me eating a salad, that I ordered via room service, at the bar, at 11pm, would have caused too much trouble. read more

The rooms are lux compared to most we've stayed here in the UK over holiday. King sized beds are comfortable with great bedding. Since we did not get put in a riverfront View ours is less than majestic but at least there's a water feature- Or the roof is flooded. Either way it looks cool. My only gripe is that for a 5 star hotel the bath towels are 2 star quality tops. Let's increase that thread count Marker! read more

Headed here with a couple of friends one Saturday afternoon. I know what you're thinking, rooftop bar, Dublin summer, doesn't really ring that attractive does it? Unless of course you enjoy being soaked wet through looking into grey mist. On the day we went it was raining - surprise - so we grabbed one beer in the modern and stylish downstairs bar while waiting for the rain to stop - a lovely Hop House 13, reasonably priced at €5.75. Up on the rooftop we we're given a nice sofa area with covering from the rain & they also gave us blankets to keep us warm - a necessity in the Irish summertime! Overall the place is well designed and gives you some great views of Dublin and whilst I was actually pleasantly surprised with the Marker and it's rooftop option, for a place that is priding itself of being upmarket and for the location they are in, it just didn't have the classy appeal I was expecting. It's not that they do anything wrong so to speak, they just don't do anything particularly noteworthy - which for a high end establishment in a vibrant city, you come to expect. read more

I visited the spa and rooftop bar a couple of weeks ago. I would rate the spa experience in The Marker 5 stars. The service was fantastic. The Marker spa in Dublin feels like an oasis in the middle of the city centre. I would highly recommend it. We got the Sunday Special. The pool, steam room, jacuzzi and changing rooms were totally flawless. After the spa we headed up to the rooftop terrace. The views are spectacular but I do feel that given that Ireland is never going to be super warm that more could be done to improve this space. The glass could be higher to provide more shelter from the winds and there could be more heating for the cooler winter months. read more

I am writing a review for the spa, and the spa only. I went with my husband and although we had a nice time at the pool before our treatment i think it was the poorest spa experience of my life. I have been to spas all over the world high end to low end. I had a 30 body massage and the 45min head massage. I had to ask my therapist 4 times to go harder. FOUR! And she never went hard at all. I was left feeling so unsatisfied. I literally could wait for her to leave the room so I could massage my own head. All I kept thinking is I hope my husband is having an amazing massage, so when he told me he had the exact same experience as me I was really disappointed. Such a waste, so expensive. Ps, and they messed up our booking off the start. Get it together over there People! read more

To be fair I only had one drink here (they are 14 euro ). The drink was really good but the service was severely lacking and only for our table it seemed.The staff seemed to be attentive and made sure each table had nuts and water but we were just completely ignored and it was clearly on purpose, I was shocked and so was my coworker who had been here before. It was so frustrating to see the level of service that was provided to the other guests (and not just people staying at the hotel, everyone). No thank you. read more

Haven't had the privilege of staying here but I was here for a business dinner for about 20 people which was set up in one of the smaller conference rooms towards the rear of the hotel. Despite that, the room has been converted into quite an elegant private dining room which I presume is standard practice for events such as this. Dinner was excellent it has to be said. Set menu of smoked salmon followed by perfectly cooked rack of lamb with a tasty chocolate tart for dessert accompanied by really excellent wines set the tone for a most enjoyable, if working, dinner. Hadn't eaten here before but, if this is standard fare, I will make a point of dining in the main restaurant some time soon. As previous reviewers have said, there is a definite vibe about the Marker that's great. There's also a definite vibrancy about the entire neighbourhood, in my view, anchored, as it is, by the BGE Theatre right outside the door of the hotel. One small niggle which might annoy some - the car park. Parking is by credit card only. You have to insert your card in a machine to gain entry and again on the way out. On the night in question, the driver in front of me didn't realise this so fumbled for what seemed like ages to find a card. Being an old hand(!), I had mine at the ready. Car park entrance and exit is also tight. I had to manoeuvre carefully on the way out to make sure I didn't scratch my paintwork. You have been warned. read more

We tried this one Monday lunchtime with a few people from work. it wasn't long after it had opened. Menu is most interesting, and definitely aimed at the business lunch gang. There are options for two course or three course fixed price lunches, and we went for the latter. The food looks great - but the dishes can look small. it was interesting that in our group lots of people felt that the dishes "looked small", but by the end of lunch they all agreed that the quantity was "perfect" and was very well judged for a lunch outing. Tasty, delicious, looked great, but didn't leave you feeling bloated or needed a 3 hr nap. I had fish all the way : trout tartare and sea bream - both very nice dishes, simple, and in the sea bream's case, cooked perfectly. It's a little spendy, but then I kind of expect that given the market they're aiming for. I reckon they'll also be offering some cheaper/simpler eats as they evolve with their customers. Worth a look. Especially when the rooftop bar opens later in the Summer. read more

Review is only for rooftop. It's lovely on a sunny day, there's nothing to do on a rainy day for sure. If you are planning to have a date here, it's perfect, I'd say. Service is at its highest level! Beware, pint costs €7. They have non alcoholic cocktails. Some chilli olives and peanuts are served for free when you sit down. Security would bring blankets at the later evening, or on your request, if you're cold. Which is nice. I'd defo come here with some date and try to have great time with some money spending on the line. Free wifi, but poor signal for Three. read more

Stayed here on a work trip. It's got the feel of any corporate hotel. It's got a nice bar design, a small but clean and good gym and a nice pool. The place is pretty new so everything is super clean and quite modern. To be honest there are a number of hotels closer to the downtown Dublin - but if you have work in the area - a good place to stay. Things to note about the cronut offering that The Marker promotes: If you've had proper cronuts in NY... the cronuts at The Marker, while a valiant effort, will likely not meet your bar of excellence... That being said they are not terrible. Food and drink otherwise was reliable. Good burger. read more

The restaurant here had amazing food however don't eat at the bar. They had a decnet size menu but the food was not very good. There is no way the two share a chef/kitchen. During our our stay our room began to flood with water. At 2 or 3 in the morning I had to go downstairs to get someone to look at it. They said we can move you to another room but a room with one bed is all we have. I was traveling with my mother for her birthday and because of the way I sleep and the fact that I found it weird to sleep with my mom I turned that down. They said if we packed our bags they could have someone move them to another room with 2 beds after we left for the day the next morning. Being the only thing they offered and not wanting to sleep over a flooded room and eventual mold we said okay. We packed for about an hour then couldn't fall back asleep. We had to leave for our plans at 7 am the next day totally unrested. We were offered absolutely nothing as compensation for our trouble and were taken back by the hotels underwhelming attitude to make things better. I understand why the hotel isnt a 5 star hotel and am skeptical how they earned 4. There are a lot of wonderful places downtown you should look elsewhere when booking your stay in Dublin. read more

Hotels in Dublin are just a little strange to me. They are either very historic like the Shelbourne or awkwardly trying to be modern, which brings us to The Marker. I don't dislike his hotel, but it could use some work. The facade and furnishings are a bit "mod" rather than actually modern, which just makes the whole thing feel more dated that it actually is. The color scheme is an eye popping lemon, lime, and a faded violet which just confuses me more with every visit. While the rooms are nice and large, the hallways leading to them are dark and ominous with overly plush wall to wall carpet. I feel that it's a bit like visiting a fun house from the 1970's. The service at The Marker has always been good for me and the cleanliness is on par with other hotels on the same quality. I enjoy the breakfast buffet in the main restaurant but the food in the bar is a bit lackluster. The rooftop bar remains an enigma as it seems to be closed for private events or just randomly every time I am there. I do love the front patio as it's a great place for afternoon drinks with a lovely view of Grand Canal Square. While I am not overly impressed with The Marker it certainly gets the job done and if you need to be in the Dockland area, it's by far the best place around. read more

What did I love about The Marker? 1. The AC. It was a bit of a heatwave when I visited Ireland for two weeks, and The Marker was one of two hotels out of eight that had it. 2. The breakfast buffet was pretty dang good. I was a big fan of the hand crafted yogurts available. 3. The location. The Hop On, Hop Off tour also picks up right down the street (and you can buy tickets at reception.) 4. The staff. Everyone was really friendly, especially Robert at the front desk and Steven. 5. I've been here on two occasions now, once for a Christmas Party & once to chill on their roof top terrace. As far as the Christmas party goes, the service was second to none, the food was tasty (considering it was turkey & ham) however I do feel they sacrificed flavour for decoration - e.g. we had a giant root vegetable of some kind that was carved into the shape of a bullet. It was fine, but extremely weird. Also, the dessert was extremely luscious... Not needed after the preceding courses, and this is as a chocolate lover speaking about a chocolate dessert. Way too heavy, could honestly only eat about 2 bites. Again I feel they sacrificed flavour for being fancy... I will say that the roof-top bar was a huge redeeming factor for me. Spacious, comfortable couches, service was absolutely brilliant, blankets & heaters (was February when we were there) & a great drinks menu. Definitely worth a look! read more

Love this hotel. It's perfectly situated near, but not in city center, so you can get anywhere with a cab or Uber. You can also find great bars and pubs within walking distance - one of my favorites was The Ferryman. Cute little pub where U2 actually used to play when they were first starting their career. The hotel is new, modern, clean and updated. I especially loved the heated bathroom floors! If we ever make a trip back to Dublin, we'll definitely be staying at the Marker hotel. read more

Spectacular hotel design,especially, the ceiling. I booked a table in advance for a birthday lunch with two of my friends and it was very delicious. We went on Sunday and they offered their Le drunch menu. I started with a tea with rooibos and cocoa then had a salad with quinoa, pumpkin, other stuff and steamed salmon. My friends ordered pancakes and the markers' beef burger which they thought was very delicious and juicy as it should be. We also had some side plates and drinks. Later on, we went for deserts and each had different choice, i had banoffee with caramelised banana and ice-cream, which the three of us found it so good and another cocoa tea (really lovely). One of my friends had donuts which came with 3 souses and it was not especial at all and my other friend had a browny which was very delicious. read more

We went to the Marker with friends; there were 6 of us in total. It was a busy Saturday, but the staff were very attentive and moved us when better seats became available. The cocktails were top notch albeit pricey. We will be going back as we will like to see the rooftop. read more

Beautiful hotel. Rooms: We stayed in a spacious corner room and had a great experience. Very modern, clean with all of the amenities you would expect of a high end hotel. Large bathroom with a separate soaker tub, and fantastic shower. At 6'3" the height of the shower head is very important to me- and the Marker does not disappoint. Extras: The Spa was a very welcomed surprise. Indoor lap pool, hot tub, steam and sauna in central Dublin? So nice after a day walking the city. The rooftop bar had amazing views of the city, nice drinks- plus as a guest of the hotel you don't need to worry about a reservation. read more

Great!! Stayed for a week due to work. LOVE the bathroom, all marble, heated floors, awesome shower and separate tub. Entire facility is clean and new. GREAT room service-very prompt and nice variety on the menu. Beds are very comfy. I was only able to use the workout room in the spa - it wasn't the best hotel gym I've had but not the worst by far. The hotel concierge service is super - we had a complicated taxi order that they coordinated without a hitch. Bar is comfy with great service. Gets a little busy before and after theater times but if if you coordinate your table to coincide with that you are totally good. Would absolutely stay here again and hope to during the summer months when I can enjoy the outdoors more. read more

After a glass of wine in Ely myself and my girlfriend decided to pop in next door to The Marker and check out their rooftop bar. We asked the helpful and friendly girl at reception how to reach the rooftop, she directed through the ground floor bar towards the elevator. As we were waiting for the elevator we heard this ,"are yiz alright there folks, are yizzer guests?" barked across the bar. We looked around to see a member of staff donned in a black suit and ear piece coming in our direction. We told him we were fine , we were on our way to the bar upstairs and no, we're not guests. He gave us a stern "NO, guests only today"and started to lead us towards the door. I told him that we had already mentioned to reception that we weren't guests and it wasn't a problem there. I quickly realised there was no point in trying to talk to this man whilst he barked and rambled on some more. I have never been spoken to or dealt with in this fashion. If I had experienced this in a night club in temple bar at 3am I'd be surprised but in a so called exclusive hotel at 3 o'clock on a Sunday afternoon it's just completely unacceptable. I bit my tongue on this occasion and we left. We're around the area most weekends but I can safely say we will never set foot in the Marker again. read more

Overrated we visited the rooftop bar after waiting 15 mins for service in the lounge. The bar itself is nice we a nice view of the city but service was terrible 25 mins waiting for a drink on the rooftop I will give is a few more months before going back so they can sort out there staff and service. High potential but definitely not 5 star services .. read more

Absolutely loved staying here! I was only here for 2 nights but it was a very good experience. Check-in process was very easy and the rooms were fantastic! The location is next to a new performing arts center and is other popular destinations. They have a wonderful restaurant and offer a very delicious breakfast. The place feels modern, is very spacious and customer service was excellent. Inside the rooms are robes, slippers and a spacious bathroom. If I return to Dublin, I would stay here again!!! read more

We love this hotel. It's always our choice in Dublin. Why? Relaxed luxury with fantastic staff, beautiful rooms and a great pool spa area. It is away from the city centre in the south docks area but that's only 10 minutes in a taxi or 25 minutes walk along the river to the main shops. Plus outside the front door are many bars, cafés and restaurants. Don't forget to try the Marker's trendy roof too bar, unfortunately closed in the winter, but a perfect place for pre dinner drinks. The rooms are large and have lovely decor and huge bathrooms. Plus they have one thing that many hotels lack - solid sound proofed walls so no getting woken by snoring from the rooms above or beside! The main bar is a great place to relax and people watch with a good drinks selection. Not cheap but worth every cent. Looking forward to coming back already! read more

Had dinner in their brasserie restaurant. I won't rush back. For all the stylised concrete and glass, the dining space feels like an infant's geometric play thing. The food gambles style over substance, but falls short. Why drop boilie cheese and salad cream into the raw starter? It's not far to the Chop House for better respected meats. I'd swear the chips had been frozen (you know that puffiness). There are bright sides; start with the trout tartare, skip main course and finish with the buttermilk panna cotta dessert. Of the only six menu options that tempted, those were the two that satisfied. Thanks to the recession (gulp!) there is much better value and better quality to be had in town. I would mark two stars, but I want to credit their choice of Irish sourced ingredients, attentive staff and lengthy (if expensive) drinks menu. read more

The Marker is a pretty brand new hotel (less than 5 months) and it shows. Everything in the hotel, including the service is still new and shiny. This is one of the best hotels I have stayed at. The bathroom in my room was amazing. The floors are heated and the tub just cries out for you to take a long bath in it. The service as a whole was top notch. I did check out the rooftop bar and it has amazing views of Dublin (as long as the weather is nice). The prices are kind of steep but it's to be expected. read more

Pure luxury- Beautiful hotel, lovely location and well appointed room. Comfy bed, great views, separate shower and soaking tub, heated floors in the bathroom, nice seating area in the room, etc. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The Manager there is very focused on customer satisfaction. I needed a few things for my room and they were delivered promptly. A few minutes later the manager came by to make sure I got everything I needed. One night I could figure out how to disable one of the functions on the tv. The manager came up personally to show me how to do it. Love this hotel and I will definitely stay there next time I'm in Dublin! read more

We stayed at The Marker for 4 nights and had a fantastic time while there. All of the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We came for our honeymoon (and let them know ahead of time), and they put extra effort into making it a great experience for us. The hotel (and rooms) is quite modern, so everything still has a new, hip feel to it. There was plenty of space in our room, and we really felt pampered. One minor note is that there wasn't a lot of counter space in the bathroom. We got breakfast for one morning, which is cheaper if you book it ahead of time instead of just going down. There is a large continental breakfast with a variety of fancy breads, grains, and fruit, as well as the hot buffet with all of the components of a full Irish breakfast. I would definitely recommend going to the pool if you have a chance: it is at least as impressive as the pictures. They have a "4 for 3" deal where you can stay for 4 nights for the price of 3, and given the prices for this hotel, you might consider it read more

I only went in to the Marker Hotel to buy some cronuts. The door man was so lovely and friendly and pointed me in the right direction of these croissant doughnut hybrids. I bought two boxes at ten euro a pop. The lady who served me was also very nice and chatty and friendly, what a great first impression of the place. The cronunts themselves were delicious and so so morish! Too morish in fact and I will now need to spend all weekend in the gym burning of their yumminess, but totally worth it. The hotel bakes the cronuts fresh everyday and make two varieties and you get two of each in each box (they are only sold in boxes of four). The bar area where I bought the cronuts was lovely and bright and quiet, such a good place to get some early morning work done or just sit back and have a coffee. I was really impressed with my limited experience with the Marker Hotel and I would love to go back now for an early morning coffee, an after work drink and even a stay. If any of these things happen I'll let you know how they go. read more

I had a work event here on Friday last. Beautiful weather so i thought The Marker would be a great experience. Booked in for food at 6.30 but nobody took our our until I prompted them at 7.25. Drinks service was also slow. Food was only OK. We wont to the Roof Top and the views are exceptional. Really is a fabulous location. Seemed like their was a huge amount of security who took themselves very seriously. Rude and abrupt. Couple of tables seemed to be getting most of the attention. 25-30 minutes per drink order. I would come back to just have a drink and experience the views again. But overall experience was really disappointing read more

Stunning hotel with excellent service. Rooms are lovely, luxuroius and spacious- we had great views over the docklands from the floor to ceiling windows. Staff are exceptionally helpful. The spa is a lovely treat also. I had an early morning flight on the day off check out and reception organised a taxi to the airport and brought me coffee to take with me, a nice touch that made a 4am wake up call a little easier. Only downside for me was that despite 2 attempts over the course of the stay we couldn't get up onto the famed roof top bar- once it was closed for a function and another time there was a sign saying it wasn't open until 4...from my understanding you had to be let up by staff but at 4:30 still no way up and nobody around to ask- we could have pursued this more but would have been nice not to have to- maybe next time! read more

The room was big and well appointed. The bed was comfortable. The rain shower was fantastic, if just a bit small. The staff is super attentive and helpful. The breakfast buffet had good quality and variety. The burger in the lobby bar was good. The fish and chips in the lobby bar was good once and not the second time. The rooftop bar is worth seeing, though it was very cold up there in early October. They happily provided blankets and hot water bottles, along with tasty drinks, to ward off the chill. The fitness center and spa was great. They have decent selection of weights and machines. The pool is beautiful. I got a massage and it was first-class, on a heated table with a skilled therapist and a snack at the end. read more
