Sally's Diner never fails me! Family owned and operated & the absolute nicest employees. This time Denise was our server. She was awesome. I love how they have daily specials so you can always try something new. They serve brekkie & lunch no matter what time it is. It was about 9am but I still opted for the turkey, bacon, ranch melt special and added double onion rings. I even had a Diet Coke! Live a little...am I right!!?! Everything was cooked to perfection & I had plenty to take home for leftovers. Since it was early on a weekday, the ambiance was quiet at first but filled up fast. Out of all of the diners that Sally owns; this one in longwood is the best. The food and the service are excellent. When Robin and Denise are working is when it is at its best. Portion sizes are generous and the prices are reasonable. My wife and I usually have breakfast and we have never had a bad experience. Bring back some apple and cherry pies. Adorable diner. It hits nostalgia notes with memorabilia from a wide range of 50s and 60s. But this is also a place where the servers know the names of the patrons. Our server Teresa knew the names of at least three or four tables as well as their orders, which I think speaks to a level of care that you will not get from a generic diner. We ordered a bunch of food, and I would say it was pretty reasonably priced. The egg and sausage omelette was delicious as well as the home fry potatoes. They need a no star selection because that is where Sally's Diner shoul fit. Try as I may, as much as I want to like this restaurant, because I liked the restaurant before this one at the same location, it continues to get worse with food and service. We arrived at 11:35am for lunch. Restaurant was maybe 1/4 full with 2 waitresses. We did not get waited on until 11:55am. 10 minutes with no hello or nothing. We order drinks and food. Simple stuff like hamburger sandwich. 4 other tables came in after we were waited on and they were served within 15 minutes of their arrival or so by the only waitress who seemed to care. Our waitress moved in very very slow speed. At 12:15 we asked about our food, and she said it would be out in 2 minutes. At 12:35pm we left Sally's Diner unserved, and nobody cared that we left. This is our last trip to this or any of Sally's Diner's. We then went ¾ of a mile east on 434 to Country Kitchen and was waited on immediately, had our hamburgers within 5-10 minutes served by a staff that actually cared about you and the food you ordered. This will be our go to local restaurant for breakfast and lunch. read more

Parking is very open. Great location and open floor plan. We sat ourselves and my son picked table #13. Waitress is very friendly and jovial. Coffee is definitely hot! I ordered the Greek omelette which is a gyro style omelette, with grits and home fries, and a grilled biscuit. My son, Kyle, ordered two eggs, two pancakes, two bacon strips, and two sausage patties. Along with that, he got a side of grits. Kyle was very happy with the pancakes, sausage, and bacon. My omelette is very good. Cucumber sauce is served on the side. Grits are delicious. Kyle likes his with butter and maple syrup. I like mine with lots of butter and a little sugar. All in all, this was a great choice. Logged in to the GPS and it brought us right to it. Great little diner. They were short-staffed when I arrived but did a great job taking care of everyone. I sat at the counter since I was eating alone. It worked out nicely since I needed ALL the coffee. I had a western omelet, hashbrowns, and toast. My only complaint is that the toast was a little overdone. Pancakes were yummy and the bacon was actually cooked correctly - - - all the way through and crispy instead of limp like you get at other spots--but I would not come back here for anything else. I ordered a Mediterranean chicken pita, and the pita it came on was good, but the chicken was tasteless and bone dry, and instead of tzatziki sauce, which was what was described on the menu, it was much closer to ranch. I couldn't eat more than a few bites, but felt too bad to send it back. My daughter ordered lemonade and I'm still not sure what they brought her but it was not lemonade. It was bright orange and when I tasted it, it was very sour and thick like pure syrup they'd forgotten to mix. Don't have that homey friendly connection. Final Straw: Ordered corn beef and eggs scrambled, grits, toast. Toast Warm Grits Hot No butter offered or served Eggs Scrambled till the serving was smaller than a dollar bill. Corn Beef? It was a slab of a preformed loaf of pressed corn beef about 1/4" thick, dry and the inside cold. Served in a semicircle form as a half a slice of a large bologna type loaf. Told the waitress "The meal sucked". She just shrugged her shoulders and did not offer a refund. This is from a daily regular for the past 2 years or so. I know this restaurant and the people. I've been associated with restaurant personnel and their practices for over 40 years; one of my friends taught at Johnson & Wales, a premier culinary school. Rhonda's deserves better. They do make a decent Gyro, but moist lamb would be better. Gyro meat, beef I think, needed the tzatziki sauce. read more

We walked in to get breakfast , and sat down we were not attended until about maybe 10 minutes after being sat down . Another 10 minutes for an order to be taken down and a good 20 minutes before I got up and said I am done waiting. The waitress never came to check up on us the cup of coffee was done no refills , people were coming in and being attended to and we just sat there with an elderly mother waiting for service to take place . Unfortunately, it was horrible. I'm surprise it was as busy as it was. Ordered eggs Benedict and the English muffin was uncooked. The home fries cold. The eggs were basically hard boiled eggs, and when I turned one over there was burnt on the bottom. The home fries ice cold. I think they got the containers or something mixed. They literally were or must've been pulled out of a cooler. Then, if you look at the photo that I posted, the entire dish was saturated with Italian seasoning. It offset and made the entire meal taste even worse. The coffee taste like it brewed from the a Household coffee pot. That too many coffee grounds or mix was used to make it. Tasted burnt, and like there was again too many grounds in it or reused, coffee grounds or something. The staff was extremely friendly though and that would be a huge five star for me.
