We have been to the Mason Grill probably a half-dozen times now, and I generally find the food very good. It's your basic American breakfast fare done well. There can be a little variability on how things are cooked. For example one time the scrambled eggs were way overdone and not very good to eat. The home fries are generally also very good however I like them a little crispier. The biscuits & gravy are a solid choice also. It's a very popular local spot with ample parking in the back especially. I noticed a lot of people get food to go. Definitely worth trying especially if you want to eat where the locals do. read more

We were in from Chicago and the old man (who is from Cinti) wanted goetta for breakfast. He'd been here in the past and knew he could find it here. I had biscuits and gravy and a scrambled egg. Biscuits and gravy! I usually have to be in the mood for B&G and most of the time I order something different. I am glad that wasn't the case here. Luckily, for a person that likes having multiple things, there was an option for a half order. The biscuits and gravy had great flavor, not bland like some of the places around. Stopped in for the Gyro today for lunch. It was one of the best Gyro I have had in the area. Many seem to be a pita with a Greek salad and some Gyro meat. these were packed with meat, hold the salad and the tzatziki sauce added beautifully to the meal. The restaurant had a very nice small town mom and pop feel. We will definitely be heading back and if you are looking for a good Gyro this place is worth checking out. read more

The Mason Grill is a solid choice for breakfast if you are in the Mason area. The menu has a lot of options, including daily specials, at very affordable prices. The service was great too, we never had to ask for coffee or water refills. The girlfriend has a breakfast sandwich with sausage which was pretty good. I had a cheese steak omelet, which was a daily special. A giant 4 egg omelet, stuffed with swiss, sauteed peppers and onions, and thin sliced steak, it was very filling and delicious. The home fries were a little disappointing, they were big slices of potatoes instead of cubes, and not crispy at all. We split an order of biscuits and gravy which was really good. The biscuits were fluffy and held up to the gravy, and the gravy had a good amount of sausage in it. They were some of the better biscuits and gravy I've had at a diner in a while. We live kind of far away, but if we are in the area, this will definitely be the place to go for breakfast. read more

This is a great little neighborhood spot. Breakfast is served all day. The atmosphere is casual and cozy and the food is pretty tasty and fairly priced. If you are starving it is ok, but we won't be back. Breakfast eggs overcooked, cheap steak overcooked no flavor. Asked for crispy potatoes and got old dry semi rancid yuk. Coffee tasted like the maker and everything was dirty. They 'ran out' of steak sauce. The jelly tray was sticky. See what I mean? Restrooms were clean. My family has dined here about a half dozen times. The breakfast is always wonderful and reasonably priced. My son loves the spaghetti here, but I wasn't really a fan of their gyro though. The staff has always been super nice and even when the place is packed our food comes out in reasonable time. We live in Mason and went here for breakfast because the reviews were great. Um don't waste your money. This place is a dump through and through. Dirty, outdated and the food was HORRIBLE. Western omelette tasted gross, my "homefries" were dry and tasteless and the food was overall just really awful. Even the coffee tasted like dirty water. I knew when we pulled up and there was no line waiting on a Sunday that we should probably leave. The service was very good, but the food and the ambience left a lot to be desires. First time visitors late Sat. morning on the recommendation of a friend. The restaurant is small and staff appears to know most of the patrons. The menu is pretty straight forward with the usual breakfast fare, sandwiches and a few dinner options. My husband had the vegetarian omelet, with home fries and toast which he said was delicious. Oddly the omelet does not come with cheese so, order as an add on if you want it. He also had one pancake. I ordered the gyro with well done fries. My gyro came with loads of meat for $6.95 but some of the meat was overcooked, almost black on the edges. Our server was pleasant although not very efficient. She brought our meals but did not notice we had neither pancake syrup or jelly on the table. Food was good and prices were lower than you would find in area chain restaurants. Great down home eatery located in Mason, OH. The burgers, and Gyro's are wonderful. Only complaint = No Jalapeno's available for burgers. Ok, this is an unattractive greasy spoon that serves inexpensive food, but if you are in Mason and have an appetite for a large, tasty, easy-on-the-wallet breakfast consider the Mason Grill. For $6, they serve a three egg Western omelet with a huge portion of fried potatoes and buttered toast. The omelet was delicious, although the potatoes were forgettable. My friends say the burgers are also good, but can't vouch for that. They close everyday at 2 pm. read more
