Just moved to Cheviot area and was interested in trying some new restaurants. Went to Stephens for a quick lunch about 2:30. It was pretty quiet. It's an older looking place, but clean and neat. The waitress was very nice and accomodating. Had a relatively simple sandwich which was tasty, fresh ingredients and good portion. It's a very good, but simple , stick to your ribs, good quality place for a fair price. Not a restaurant that I crave but one I would go to anytime for a good meal with really good service at a fair price. read more

Fantastic service with decent food. The spaghetti almost had too much meatball which isn't a problem I normally have. I did love the interior of the place and enjoyed the small booths. The worst part is the small parking lot shared with a few other businesses. Try one of the side streets for a few more options. I like this little spot. It' cute and the waitress was very nice, though quite busy. Breakfast wasn't outstanding, but definitely good for diner/chili parlor food. My breakfast included a nice big piece of goetta, eggs over easy with absolutely no character and home fries that could have been more crisp, but were still quite palatable. There are a lot of places that serve similar plates and many that are closer. Stephens worked perfect this particular morning because we were nearby for a procedure. I'd stop in again if we happened to be in the area, but I don't think we'd make a special trip. read more

This is such a cute little local restaurant. We went here before going to the west side city market. There are probably about 15 small booths in the space. Definitely a local vibe. The waitress was so nice and definitely seemed to know most of the customers, she even suggested we move to a larger booth after we chose a 2 seater booth. Definitely a good suggestion! They have a large omelette selection. They then have pancakes and some egg and meat meals. I got blueberry pancakes with potatoes shared on the side. I got the short stack and it was soo much food. I have been here now twice for their dinner/lunch fare and it is truly comfort food like you would get when young, eating a family meal made by people who cared. I stopped here for dinner on a Wednesday at 5:30 pm and the place only had a table or two taken. This place is small, but charming. The menu has a lot of diner classics and is reasonably priced. My server came right over and took my order. After a very short wait she delivered my open face turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes, gravy, and green beans. The meat was thinly sliced and plentiful for the price. The gravy and mashed potatoes were both good. The service was quick and efficient and for the money this was a great deal. A hidden gem. This is a great local place I go for a weekend breakfast. The food is delicious and the portions are amply large. But they are not just for breakfast. They specialize in home style cooking for lunch and dinner. The meals are large and tasty served in a friendly atmosphere with delicious "home cooked" specials every night of the week. We just left the restaurant sat and waited and waited and waited, none of the three waitresses acknowledges us, we noticed only two orders hanging on the metal spinner. Finally, a man and lady came in and sat down, low and behold, waitress went right to their table. As expensive as it is to eat out, you would think we would of been greeted. We wanted to try someplace new for breakfast and the reviews made this place sound great. Unfortunately, that wasn't our experience. We were the only two customers until two more came in and then a single person. The one server, who was very nice, mixed up our order, didn't bring the full order and then we heard the couple behind us also complaining. I asked if they had hash browns, even though they weren't on the menu and she said our home fries are shredded so they're basically hash-browns. No. They were fried potatoes. ‍ The worst part for me though, was there were ants all over the place. Small ants but nonetheless, everywhere. I'm always looking for good places to eat. I visit Santorini, which is just up the road, with some regularity, and finally got around to Stephens Old Village Restaurant. The booths are pretty small for more than two people, but we managed to fit ourselves and all of our food in. The three of us got fried chicken, fried cod, and country fried steak. The fried chicken came out pretty quickly, making us suspect that it wasn't cooked to order, but it had clearly been warmed by putting it back in the fryer, because it was amazingly crisp. Unfortunately, it was cold in the center, but completely cooked, so it was OK. The fried cod was good, and the country fried steak was pretty standard, except that it came, to my surprise, with sausage gravy, not just white gravy, so I was very happy with it. My side salad was large and good, the cabbage, which was one of the daily vegetables, was good, and had potatoes in it. The chocolate cream pie was pretty good, but on a standard bad crust that is typical of "store-bought" pies. Skipping the crust was easy enough to do, so that wasn't a problem. Overall, it was a very good meal for the three of us. Since I'm looking for a new favorite place for Cincinnati Chili, with the closing of Chili Time, I'll be returning sometime soon to try a 3-way. read more

No. The first time we went in, it was the breakfast rush. This was fine, the food was fine. My partner and I found it odd that we were stared at the entire time, but whatever. The second try, we were en route to pick up someone from the hospital. Plenty of time for a meal. We were the only ones in there, great! The food was sub par. Honestly, the mashed potatoes were inexcusable. Verdict? The hospital cafeteria would have provided a better meal. read more

This is not a Greek restaurant but it has a Greek theme with gyros and baklava. The food is good standard American fare. Breakfast is inexpensive and tasty. Expect to pay half of what you would pay at Perkins or IHOP all while supporting a local community business. I would highly recommend coming her for a Sunday breakfast with the family as it will not break the bank. If not come for a lunch or dinner of open faced turkey or fried chicken.
