The only thing that feels more welcoming than that is sitting down for a meal or drink at Paxton's Grill. When you walk in you may be drawn to the curated selection of overpriced local art. Maybe its the inevitable welcome by one of the staff, but once you choose a seat, you will realize that there is much more to indulge in than the eccentric eye candy the building projects. If you are a breakfast person, you should try the omelet. They say it is 3 eggs, but given the size the justification can only be that eggs are that of a Condor. The plate has a hard time containing the volume of protein and sides that are included, it comes out and reminds you of your 35 week pregnant wife walking downstairs in her pre-baby leggings, you don't say anything about it because of the love for what you know is there, but it just doesn't fit. Like Goetta? Of course you do. Get the goetta bowl. The combination of goetta, potatoes, gravy, and love create a symphony of flavor that takes you back to the first time you heard Avicii's "Levels" in reverse. Such a simple concoction, yet the experience makes you feel like you unearthed a megalodon tooth. Filling, simple, delicious. Okay, maybe you are not a breakfast person. Well, go for lunch or dinner and get the Big Paxton. This burger speaks to you like my wife did when we were dating. This hunk of beef lays comfortably on a bun that is toasted yet soft. Blanketed by swiss and bacon that harkens to our aforementioned coziness. Its like you form a symbiotic connection that spans from your plate through your body to the restaurant itself. These forms all connect better than my 4 year old trying to do complete a square in her "dot to dot" book. But then. Then you get to the fries. If arbys, waffle house and the state of Idaho itself decided to invest Elon Musk's net worth into research they could not craft a seasoned waffle fry this good. Its like the cooks, dare i say chefs, in the back read these potatoes a bedtime story to make sure they were just right. The crisp, the flavor, the size. Sometimes I order two sides before I go home because I know my mother-in-law is cooking and she has not opened a spice drawer since '94. Paxton's treats every customer like the grounds crew at Augusta National prepping for the Masters. Meticulous, kind, caring, they think of what you need before you can even ask. We were in the Loveland area looking for a last minute dinner, my dad remembered Paxton's from another time and we happened to be right around the corner. Sat down right away, had a lovely waitress, Sheryl, who my dad said she mentioned it was her first day, I would have never guessed! She was great. Drinks, appetizer, and food all came out super quick and was delicious. Perfect place for a casual sit down meal in beautiful historic Loveland. Good food and great service! I had lunch with my daughter here today and we both thought it was great. Since we were starving we decided on an appetizer of Chips and Salsa. The pico de gallo was delicious and the chips were warm and crispy. We both really enjoyed it. My daughter picked the Grilled Chicken sandwich with fries for her side. I chose the Fish Sandwich with coleslaw for my side. My daughter thought her sandwich was delicious and she said the fries were really good too. My fish was just a tad overcooked but not so much so that I didn't enjoy it. The service was awesome! Friendly and quick. read more

Went in for the chicken tonight. They were overcooked and hard. Kind of dry. I had a glass of water and it was nasty tasting. I had to get iced tea instead. I've enjoyed Paxton's Grill over the years. It really is a staple for downtown Loveland. While I have dined inside in the past and had good service, most recently ive placed orders for take out. The take out situation during 2020 is very convenient. Order online, pay, and receive an estimated time it will be ready. Of course you can still call in your order if you prefer. There are reserved parking spaces to the left of the building specifically for take out. A hostess is stationed right at the entrance, just inside the now enclosed patio. All you have to do is give your name and she will grab your order! While everything ive had here is delicious, I highly recommend the Cobb Salad with chicken. The portion size is generous and full of fresh ingredients! No skimpy toppings here. The grilled chicken was nicely marinated and had a great charred taste while still being tender. It was thoughtfully packaged in a separate container from the salad since it was piping hot. The honey mustard dressing is so good I could drink it! Another great thing here is their strong burger game! My favorite is the mushroom swiss burger and then add all the traditional toppings such as lettuce tomato and onion. When I ask for medium they actually cook it to perfection. The waffle fries on the side are a must have. Keep an eye out for when they do burger specials as those are really yummy and unique too! I've only been to Paxton's twice - once years ago before the fire and recently I ordered takeout from them. I wasn't blown away the first time, but this recent time was fantastic. Their take out situation right now is excellent. The timing is spot on, lots of spaces to park, and they bring out your food super quick. Hands down one of the best take out experiences I've had during the pandemic. The biggest takeaway for me was that our food was still piping hot when we got home. The chicken philly panini was good, but not great. The Santa Fe Turkey sandwich was fantastic. Lots of flavor especially for turkey and fresh toppings. My Mom took me to dinner here back on a Wednesday in September. It was about the same as I remember it and fairly busy with a mix of everyone from professionals to annoying teens. The service was great. She was very attentive, kind, and she was great at her job. She was able to recommend me on the Cubano Panani which turned out to be alright. Going on to the food... I forget what my Mom ended up getting but she enjoyed it but didnt rave about it. As I mentioneded I ended up selecting the Cuban which was alright. I guess I'm just use to the bread being different and having more of a flat crust... also I didn't taste any mustard but idk could have just been me. The atmosphere is always pretty fun here and the place brought back memories which is why I'm giving it 4*. The food atleast on that visit was 3*. Loved Paxton's Grill!! Came here with my boyfriend after an 11 mile hike around Caesar's Creek, and we were exhausted and on the brink of hanger. We split the Caesar Salad Wrap and the Buffalo Wrap. I preferred the Caesar one just because I'm not a huge spicy person, but the Buffalo really wasn't too spicy and there was nothing left on either of our plates after what felt like 5 minutes. I don't remember much about the service other than that it wasn't bad, but also not so impressive that it stood out, so that's a win in my books. The tables were a little close together so you can't help but hear surrounding groups' conversations which I didn't love, but there's also outdoor seating I would love to come out and take advantage of (we were too hungry to wait for a table to be available!). The location is great with some life music and right next to the bike path, but not facing the main strip. Great place for dinner and walking around if there's a wait to be seated!! I think Paxton's could be dressed cute or very casual, I definitely wouldn't say fancy, but coming from a baseball game in uniform is more than acceptable :) read more

The only reason I didn't give them a 5 star is because of the server. She was super slow and not friendly. The food was a five. Burger was cooked as requested and nice and juicy. Fries were crispy. They serve Heinz ketchup. Extra points in my book. Lol. They serve Coke products and have a pretty healthy beer menu. All of the food came out as ordered. The Nachos had a nice flavor. I had the opportunity to stop in here for lunch today with a coworker after we finished our meeting. I have to say I was quite impressed. This isn't my typical sort of place for lunch but I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was extremely awesome and quick and helpful. The chef even came out and asked us if everything was good and he really meant it. Everything was good. The menu is quite extensive but it's like a soup salad sandwich sort of place with really nice options. I'm jealous of my coworker who got the salmon sandwich which looks really awesome. The fries that come as a side are fine but nothing special. The interior of the restaurant was decorated up really nice for Christmas and just felt really warm and comforting. They were following all the rules for Covid and had sanitizer as well as masks. I will definitely be going back for a quick bite next time I'm in Loveland. read more

While riding on the bike trail through Loveland, stopped for dinner- have been to Paxton's before, dining outside to keep our bikes nearby - previous visit food was good here- not the best service but thought we would try again-asked waitress is we could sit at either 2 or 4 seat tables that were open- she said they were held for a larger party, we could dine inside, we told her that we needed to stay within view of bikes (pd over 4k for 2 bikes). She said to try Ramsey's across the street that they may have something open- went to Ramsey's and wow thanks for the recommendation! Excellent food and service - Ramsey's is where we will go from now on! Oh and half way through our dinner, the 4 person table had just seated 2 people and the small table was still empty when we were finished with our meal. read more

I've been to Paxton's Grill a couple times for breakfast a few years back and thought it was bomb! My Mr has never been here so thought we should check out lunch before crate digging at Plaid Room Records. They have an outdoor patio which is covered and heated in the winter time. Inside is very small but cozy and laid back. Decor is definitely around the Loveland bike trail and nostalgic pictures on the wall. Love it. We were seated near the bar on high top table. Our server was helpful on the beer menu. Which I must say is a good one. A great selection of crafts beers. I opted for Sonder Mango Frosted IPA and my Mr got the Fifty West/Grear Lakes Pip's Pale Ale. So much to pick from the food menu. Hard to decide. They serve Appetizers, Salads, Salads, Burgers, Wraps, Wings, Entrees, Sides, Kids Menu and Desserts. I finally decide to get the Cheese Quesadilla with pulled pork(served with pico de Gallo and sour cream) my Mr got the Chicken Fajita Salad Wrap with seasoned waffle fries. Our meals was perfect! Loved the pulled pork in my quesadilla! Had great flavor! What I like the most is the Fajita ranch served with my Mr's meal. Tasted so good dipped in the fries and wrap! After our meal we wanted a dessert beer, so we ordered the Fifty West Christmas cookie! So good! Overall our experience was awesome! Best things I've tried The rueben-they actually give ruebens a good name, appropriate amount of meat and the rest of the toppings were good ratios as well.. Their waffle fries (when fresh) are something to dream about. They are perfectly seasoned. But not to leave out their onion rings and their sweet potato fries either.. those are both on point as well. I also have gotten the Santa Fe turkey a few times, that's my go to if I am just craving a turkey sammy, flavors are awesome.
