Another fantastic experience at Jenny's. Whenever I have a meet up with friends, this place is always part of the discussion. Very good food and service is always top notch. Today's visit was no exception. I had the small version Chicken Fried Steak, which was a perfect amount for this older guy. The CFS was also one of the best I've had in Spokane. My buddy got the veggie omelette and enjoyed it very much. The house made jam was also outstanding. This is a classic diner, such as Perkins or Dennys of the past, with a much more homey feel to it. The service was fine and the employees were all very friendly. But I've eaten there 4 times, and every time I went the food was barely warm. The first few times I ordered a skillet meal, and the hash browns were soggy and the gravy was barely room temperature. Today my fried egg was cold and the hash browns were barely warm. I think they just get very busy, and the food sits for awhile before being served. I like to give places the benefit of the doubt, but all 4 times I've gone, I've been served cold/room temp food. They have great menu items and a large selection, and the portions are definitely large. But they need to make sure things are cooked longer, and served hot! read more

In the busyness of Spokane; Jenny is easy to miss, worth the stop. The place is decorated with farmhouse signage, the water/drinks are in mason jars. I had a cup of coffee, cinnamon roll, and the "dads favorite" (consisting of: bacon, sausage, onions, cheese, red peppers, all you can eat hash-browns all topped with their signature gravy.) They are also known for their jam. The jam is sweet, and could go well with any pancakes, waffles, or even just an English muffin. Martha the server was friendly, and attentive. I'll be real honest the food looks appetizing and I've eaten it before. But it is hard for me to continue to eat from a place that I know is filthy. The hoods don't even really get cleaned. The floors and underneath everything is disgusting because again they don't clean it very well. I can only imagine what else they mess up on considering they have no organization or communication between front or back of house. I've seen them put sanitary products right next to food! Disgusting. I wish I could give a good review about this place truly. You should see the back of house menus, it's a mess. Whoever ever eats here, please just be careful. You might have sanitary products in your food or your food might just be catching anything floating around in the kitchen. I have yet to have it happen to me But rather be safe than sorry.. Found this place a little over a year ago when visiting. Ever since we started planning our trip back out here, Jenny's was on our list of places to eat. They updated the interior, very nice, quaint setting. Much less clustered. Food was on point. I had the Elvis waffle. Hello, this was amazing. As expected, everyone enjoyed what they got. Portion sizes are still large and filling. The service is top notch. They balance taking care of you with not making you feel rushed. If you live here why isn't this a regular go to? A must try. The service was absolutely fine today but the food was just the opposite. I ordered corned beef and eggs. The eggs were o.k. But the corned beef was so dry and old tasting I couldn't believe it. It was like jerky. I feel like it had been left on the grill for a long time. Not sure if that's always that bad or if the cook just happened to have some old stuff to pawn off on someone today. I can't say I hate the place but I definitely hated the food today!!! Hopefully that's not the norm. read more

Worse service ever. We were seated at about 11:50a, ordered mini pancakes and mini biscuits and gravy, simple enough order. Customers who arrived after us were given prompt service and their orders came out immediately, when we asked the waitress about our order, she got a snooty attitude, said something about they had to fix something... said something and walked away. Finally, at 12:40p she brought out our order throw it on the table, with "here's your damn order, stop your bitching. Normally biscuits and gravy, eggs and bacon come on one plate, the same for the mini pancakes, everything came on separate plates. I tried to explain to the waitress that my mom was deaf, it was excuse me. Then she got really snotty when we stated that my mom had ordered mini pancakes and she got waffles. The response was 'just eat your damn meal." We're not regulars, we stop in often. We stopped here today my mom wanted pancakes and being a diabetic my blood sugar was low; on a normal day service is quick. once she throw the food on the table and her snooty attitude it was time to leave, Jenny's is NOT a place for the elderly nor handicap to visit, not with a snooty waitress like this. Sorry Jenny we may come back, but we're looking for a better place without snooty wait staff and have an understanding that there are deaf people who visit. This shows the LACK of training the staff. It took us an hour for us to sit down and get our food. I asked for steak and eggs and my steak to be cooked medium rare. And they brought it out well done. It wasnt busy and it still took me and my mom an hour to get seated and to get out food. Poor staff as well. read more

We arrived for brunch around 11 and wasn't busy at all. There was an elderly group around a table, enjoying coffee. We were seated, and the lady asked me immediately what I wanted to order. I told her we needed a minute. I haven't even read a single word on the menu. I started with coffee and orange juice. Lady came back. We ordered an omelet, and I got California Benedict with ham. And one crêpe. Unfortunately, my meal did not come out with ham, but bacon bits crumbled in it. It was super greasy and hard to eat, instead of hashbrowns. I got the home fries, the cube potatoes were also tough to eat because they looked like they were fried three times super, super brown. The ambiance looks like it hasn't been clean in several years. What is going on? I mean, I did see the bleach right beside the cinnamon rolls that were thawing out. Just kind of looks grimy. As we checked out, I noticed I got charged 13.99 for one crêpe. I didn't eat I was because it was disgusting. Super weird we just paid and left because I wanted to get out of there. A $60 meal. Service was lacking. Had to get up and go ask for coffee refills. Had a hankering for biscuits and gravy but the gravy is made from a powder, not from scratch like it is at Ferguson's. Did order a biscuit with the breakfast and it had a really off, strange flavor to it. Visiting from FL! Came here to try something new and support local business rather than go to a Dennys. The ambiance is nice. When you enter there's a nice signage to your right with the owner's message thanking you for supporting their business. (See photo) I ordered the "Marathon Man" which came with 4 strips of bacon, 3 eggs, biscuit and gravy and a waffle. Of course you have options to pick either bacon or sausage and either pancake or waffle. The food was good, waffle was a little crunchy rather than soft. The biscuit and gravy were delicious. To drink I ordered the Sweet Cream Cold Brew thinking it was black cold brew coffee with a splash of sweet cream (which is what the drink typically is) but it was a sugary iced coffee with chocolate and caramel syrup, milk & whip cream. This was honestly disappointing as I'm not the type to have my coffee like this. It should just be called "caramel mocha iced coffee". Good coffee and good value here. One tip, if you go, prepare to wait for a seat. They're so popular that it's often 30-40 minutes to be seated. Also, they are NOT a good spot for groups of more than 6 or 8 people. They only have one large table which always seems taken. The food is really good and worth the wait. Sweet cream pancakes are my favorite. On this trip I had the ham steak that was disappointing. I remember one that was thicker and juicier, this was pretty thin and dry. I was super disappointed with my hash browns, they were so crispy to the point i couldn't eat them. server knew they were bad and upon delivering them to the table said "he just put some more down so those are too crispy let me know", girl you knew they were bad juju and you have them to me anyways so inedible. As far as the crepes, the crepes themselves were pretty decent just not at all what i was expecting, i was under the impression the fruit would be inside of them and it was more of like a nice compote jam thing WRONG. Home of the All you can eat hashbrowns...and they are the delicious kind too . I mean it doesn't get any better than that, folks. My breakfast came in a fried tortilla shell which had me in giggles and made it WAY more fun to eat. This place was nice. The food was WAY better than I thought it would be. Stopped here in our way back home and was very disappointed. Food was terrible! I got an original omelette with cheese, bacon, sausage and jalapeños but there was one slice of cheese on top and the bacon was like the fake Oscar Meyer crumbles. One is the dirtiest/filthiest, restaurant places I've been in filth and grim all over walks and floors. Food was burnt. Omelettes were very small. The amount of filth on the ground and dust everywhere tells me that place has never been cleaned in years . There's a lot of elderly eating there, and definitely doesn't seem safe clean restaurant. Best of all, they offer gluten free bread so turn any meal into GF for a small extra charge. Every time I come it's a struggle to get out of my normal rut the Monte Cristo (turkey, bacon, ham and cheese tucked between two pieces of French toast, topped with powdered sugar and house made strawberry jam w/ side of hash browns).
