I hired this landscaper to install a paver pathway to my patio and extend my driveway with pavers. Initially, the work looked great, and I was very happy with the results. At that point, I honestly would have given 5 stars. However, shortly after the project was completed, I discovered that my front yard bubblers were no longer working. To his credit, he came out quickly and realized the power had been disconnected during the installation and never reconnected. He fixed that the next morning. Then I noticed a leak near my driveway. When they came out to inspect it, I was told it might be a leak underneath the driveway and was quoted an additional $200 to repair/replace the irrigation line under the driveway. After already spending several thousand dollars on the project, I agreed because I wanted the issue fixed correctly. But when they arrived to do the work, it turned out the problem was simply a disconnected bubbler line caused during the pathway installation -- not a broken main line under the driveway. It was basically a quick repair that took only a few minutes. After that, the owner seemed upset that I questioned the additional $200 charge for work that was never actually needed. About a week later, I noticed several plants in my front yard starting to die. I discovered that after the pathway installation, half of my yard's bubblers were no longer receiving water. When I tried calling from my phone, my calls suddenly went straight to voicemail. I thought that was strange, so I called from another phone and he answered immediately. After he answered and we had our discussion, I once again called him back from my original phone, and my calls were still blocked. What made this even more concerning was that every time I had called him prior to these issues, he answered immediately and would usually come out either that same evening or the very next morning. During that conversation, I was told they were too busy to come out for several days and would first need to inspect the issue and provide another estimate. I explained that this was unacceptable since these irrigation problems started after their installation work. The call ended poorly, and communication became difficult. My family and I eventually dug up the yard ourselves and discovered the irrigation line had been installed on top of and between tree roots and under the pavers, pinching the line and restricting water flow. This not only caused the leak near the driveway but also prevented water from reaching half of the yard. We spent about six hours digging up shrubs, rerouting the line properly, and resetting pavers ourselves. After digging up the yard, it became very clear that the roots were visible and the irrigation line could have easily been rerouted correctly while the yard was already open during installation. Instead, shortcuts were taken, which ultimately caused the problems we had to repair ourselves. What disappointed me most was the lack of accountability afterward. I was told the owner would come by personally, but instead a worker showed up at my house at 6:45 AM. When I asked to speak directly with the owner and showed the worker pictures/videos of the issue, the worker stepped aside to call him and then told me the owner would arrive in 15 minutes. As the worker stated the owner was on his way, I went inside to put on shoes, and as soon as I went back inside, the worker took off. The owner never showed up, and I was never able to reach him again. Since then, my calls have continued to be blocked. The actual paver work looked good in the beginning, but professionalism, accountability, and follow-through matter just as much. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution others before hiring this company. Once problems came up, I felt like everything became about additional charges instead of standing behind the work and doing the right thing.

Did not receive an appointment time until Wednesday night. Needed to negotiate an appointment time because the one provided would require me taking time off of work. Showed up before scheduled time. This may be a plus for some people, it's not for me. Cut a palo verde tree but did not trim the bushes or pull weeds as discussed. Found out he only accepted cash after the service was provided. Overpriced especially for the job that was done. Reached out to discuss my concerns and haven't heard a word since. Do not hire.

Called on LandTeck to replace my entire irrigation system (5/8" tubing, feeder tubes, sprinkler heads, PVB valves) in December 2018 ... fantastic work and excellent value/price. See review further below. ---------------------------------- December 2018 Review I recently invited a phone-screened short list of three (3) contractors to my home to bid on the replacement of irrigation lines on the my property as well as plus the replacement of in-ground valves (2) and above-ground PVB - the system is now 14 years old and we were chasing problems. Carlos / LandTeck was the only contractor (of the 3) that showed up on time, offered objective/useful information on several approaches, promptly emailed the most detailed bid (2 contractors committed to price in writing, Carlos was the most specific), and offered the best price-to-value value proposal. We selected LandTeck for the reasons above and Carlos accommodated our schedule for the work. After further reflection and our comfort level with our experience to-date, we decided to use Carlos to simultaneously replace our landscape light wiring, upgrade our the landscape lighting to LEDs, plant 2-3 dozen plants, add a flagstone pathway, and refresh our rock. As expected (but verified), Carlos' updated the bid with highly competitive pricing and a detailed proposed approach & bid -- i.e., I was not taken for granted. The crew showed up for the scheduled days, was on time each day, worked diligently until sunset each day, cleaned up each evening, and checked in before departing. As usual with home improvement projects, we uncovered several site-specific challenges along the way as well as additional problems. The supervisor (Francisco and/or Fernando) was always quick to alert me, provide options (if any), allow us to make decisions (if available), and keep our outlays to a minimum. Note that several issues (e.g., a leaky PVC pipe about a foot away from the PVB) resulted in no additional costs - definitely not my usual contractor experience. The entire crew and Carlos were always on top of the project. The LandTeck professionals genuinely sought to ensure that I was kept apprised throughout the project and that our landscaping objectives (structurally and cosmetically) met or exceeded our goals. I highly recommend LandTeck for similar work and intend to have them return to submit a proposal for my Paver-Patio. For those of you so interested, LandTeck is a family owned and operated business.

However, the work they gave us a quote for was incorrect and so when the workers showed up they were not prepared. We also had to do the majority of communicating to get them scheduled. The response we received when they did finally confirm they were able to come was also flimsy and unprofessional. We also did not receive a call from them on the day to let us know they were on their way, which is a standard customer service courtesy. After the workers left to we reached out to our contact and let them know that the work they quoted us was incorrect. We did not receive a phone call back apologizing for the inconvenience or mistake, nor was there any effort to get the work re-quoted or rescheduled. In short this company has poor communication & poor customer service, and I would not reach out to them again, nor would I recommend them to anyone.

The solar lights petered out quickly in the winter or after a cloudy day. I went to my trusty Yelp app and came across Las Vegas Backyards and their many five star reviews. I sent information about my project through Yelp, and I received a response the next business day to setup an estimate. The project manager was very thorough, and he explained his recommendations for the project while keeping aesthetics in mind. The estimate was right in line with what my research had told me was an average price for this type of job. I was, however, a little surprised that the project manager did not arrive with a catalog of various lighting fixture choices to peruse. He did send several photos of his recommended fixtures later that day based on our preference for something modern. Communication was quite good through a group text with all the respective players involved. The date for the install was arranged within a week or so of my inquiry. There was a slight snafu on installation day, as the fixtures we had chosen were sold out. We were sent photos of alternative choices and were able to find a contemporary design that was to our liking. The first part of the installation took about a half day with trenching, running power lines, and installing the fixtures. The second day was a quick installation of the transformer. I was happy to see they had installed a smart transformer with WiFi access and an app to set schedules. I do wish they would've gone over this ahead of time to discuss what type of transformer would be installed (again, I am glad they picked a smart model as that's exactly what I wanted). Unfortunately, one of the spotlights was found to be defective by the installer during their testing. They returned the next afternoon to replace it. Payment was handled in phases with certain percentages due at certain points in the installation. Payment is easily made online with a credit card, but unfortunately there is a surcharge for this type of payment. They do have other payment options if you want to avoid the surcharge. Now we have a wonderful, gorgeous, and very upscale looking landscape lighting setup that really increases the curb appeal! Thank you to Las Vegas backyards!
