If I could give this place 3.5 stars, I would. First of all, I wanted to love it because the owners/workers are lovely. So I must give credit for that. Before I go further, I didn't try any food but the empanadas looked good and fresh. I came here once in 2025 and didnt love the coffee but decided to give it another shot in 2026. I will list pros and cons: PROS: -They are using high quality , locally roasted Panther beans. -Staff is nice. Cons: -The ambiance is a little dated. Not very aesthetically pleasing. -Seating: very uncomfortable. The black velvety booth sitting is almost impossible to get comfortable in. Its like resting against a super straight flat board. My back was hurting trying to sit there. When I moved to the two "cushioned chairs" they have next to the exit, they were wobbly. You have no choice but to rock side to side. -Coffee. I ordered a flat white with oat milk and a 12 oz latte with regular milk. The flat white was NOTHING like a flat white. First of all, it was 12 ounces. Ive never seen such a large "flat white." It's usually 6-8 ounces because the whole point of a flat white is a stronger drink. Also, the flat white is supposed to be "flat" on top. They served me a very foam heavy drink. More like a cappuccino. I don't like milky or foamy drinks thats why I ordered a flat white. The latte was just right with the amount of milk because I knew we were getting a 12 ounce drink. As I requested it that size. However, this drink was also very foamy like a cappuccino. We don't like very foamy drinks thats why we didnt order cappuccino. There was absolutely no latte art. Just lots of foam. The taste of the coffee was not bad. Id give it a 7/10 on taste. Like I said, they use good beans. I gave the place a second chance because I figured they were a new shop the first time I went there and may need more time to train baristas properly. Though now coming back a second time, I think it may be ownership that is not properly trained for craft coffee - so they can't pass their knowledge down to newer staff. There was a mature woman behind the machine along with a young girl who couldnt be more than 22 years old. Im not sure what happened but I can tell you that the barista skill was lacking. Again, nice people and I wish them the best. Will I be back or recommend to friends? No. Sadly. Maybe if I see some yelp reviews with photos of the improved coffee drinks? Either way, I wish this business the best and I hope this feedback serves to help the cafe hone in on their skills for a better client experience. read more

My go to coffee is a Nitro Brew and not many people make it. I was happy to see it on the menu and decided to order it. I will say wasn't happy that they wanted to put ice in the cup and then serving it with a frappe lid was also a No no. Now although they wanted to put ice in a Nitro and gave me a frappe lid the nitro was a perfect pour and perfect temperature. This is key because if the keg isn't dialed in and the process of filling keg isn't properly done you will end up with a bad pour. So very happy to see the layers and enjoy a smooth creamy chilled Nitro! Great little place to visit if you are on vacation or even if you live or work in area. read more

Came here for a coffee date and was not disappointed! Service is patient and friendly! Even giving recommendations on how to take the food we ordered (great recommendations to warm up the scone and croissant!) The inside is inviting with nice decor and an old school feel. But if you prefer, there's outdoor seating as well. The scone and croissant cookie we got were delicious (and vegan too!). I loved my cold brew and tried a bit of my girlfriends strawberry coffee and it tasted like strawberry milk (yum!) They also have merch, some of which isn't store specific. We ended up buying a sticker pack and some pins. The sticker pack you can just grab from the display and bring to the register. The pins you go to the register and they have them in a cookie canister (but I'm sure if they ran out of one, they'll let you grab the display one). This place is great and I highly recommend it! The Melbean coffee shop is inside the hotel that I stayed at. I visited the coffee shop twice. The 1st time I ordered a chai tea latte and bacon Gruyère frittata ( both were good) and the next visit I ordered another chai tea latte and a chicken empanada. As a coffee (and coffee shop) aficionado and a new Broward County resident, I've been scoping out local establishments over the past few weeks. The Melbean had somehow escaped my radar, largely because it doesn't appear to have been on Yelp before now, but I made it out there this afternoon. The Melbean has a pleasing aesthetic. It's a bit of a smaller coffee shop, but it still feels spacious, partly due to the high ceilings and partly because there's actually a decent amount of (very comfortable) seating here. The look of the place is sleek, modern, and clean. Service was friendly and prompt, and ordering was easy, though I didn't see a menu with prices, which is personal pet peeve. In the end, my americano was reasonably priced, but still a little higher than the other coffee shops I usually frequent in the area. Given this, and that you pretty much have to pay for parking here (even on Sundays and holidays), it may not the best coffee shop option from a value perspective. The pastries and other goods on display looked appealing (especially the regular croissants), but I didn't have an appetite for food on this visit. Unfortunately, I didn't love my coffee. It wasn't objectively bad, but it seemed like a dark Cuban roast, with smoky, bitter, and burnt notes, and this simply isn't my preference. And coffee aside, another issue I had was that the place was strongly scented with some sort of fragrance or perfume, which is very unusual for a coffee shop, since it generally detracts from one's tasting experience. In this case, it was so strong that it also triggered my allergies. In the end, given that the coffee didn't suit my palate and that I wasn't physically comfortable in the space, The Melbean likely isn't going to figure into my coffee shop rotation, but that shouldn't dissuade you from trying it for yourself. read more

"Craffles" as they call them here are a creative idea and really good. Got a flat white that was solid. Breakfast burrito was very average. Would agree with some other reviews that the prices seem quite high considering the overall quality of the food. read more

Attached to the Circ, thought it would be an easy and fast latte, but unfortunately the barista was lost in the clouds. Took 10 mins to get my $9 latte, and they only started making it after I stood up and stared at the barista not doing anything. This seems to be a newer place attached to the circ apartments. Service was friendly. I ordered a vanilla hot latte large and it was delicious. Has more of a traditional coffee shop taste versus Starbucks. I read the review about the fragrance but that was not an issue on my visit. Inside smelled like coffee and was pleasant. I wouldn't want a coffee shop to smell like anything else. When I'm back in the area I would stop here for coffee. read more

I was about to buy a coffee while sitting outside and the manager told me to leave the premises because I was eating someone else's food from Publix. I've never hear in my 50 years that this was a rule in a small cafe. Starbucks never does this to their clients, ever!!!!!! I was then told my a young man inside the cafe that he did not like my appearance and did not want to serve. Strike one and strike two and one more and you out. I really really needed to love this place. I live and work a block away and good coffee is a must. It's been a hit or miss and I guess it depends who's working that day..,. The guy working the afternoons is better at making and serving espressos. I could tell who served me today was new but that's not my problem. The place is cute and located at a great spot ..... has a lot of potential but needs better quality everything. This place deserves SIX stars!! Great food, lots of options well made and served with care. Latte and other coffee options are delicious too, smooth and tasty. The staff cares about everyone and makes everyone feel at home whether you're a regular or a visitor. On our two week trip to Hollywood we went in the first morning and have been there many times since, we keep wanting to be back there for morning coffee and conversations at our favourite booth. At the same time, if you're coming in for a takeout, that is swiftly prepared with a smile too. The place makes me wish I lived here, so I could come in all year long! Try it. My husband and I ventured out to find a new place for our coffee date. We happened upon Melbean, excited to be told it was happy hour and would get 50% off all coffee except cold brew. In response, we asked if they had regular cold coffee, We were told yes and preceded to order 2, along with a cookie and a ;cannoli croissant (from a picture on the wall, since they have no menu). Turns out after paying our bill of over 17$, the croissant was not on there (not how it was forgotten) and their cold coffee is cold brew, so no. happy hour for us! Yes, the cookie was 4.25$! And not impressed by the coffee at all! We won't be returning! read more
