I'm extremely disappointed in the place. The food was your typical, run-of-the-mill mac and cheese as well as mediocre grilled cheese. When I asked the woman at the counter the price of a combo, she couldn't give me an answer, and the service overall was disrespectful. There was a Josh Hutcherson looking guy who was quite rude to us when we asked if the place was open, and he was flinging a bag of trash back and forth in front of our table while we were eating. I also don't really understand the appeal towards grilled cheese, mac and cheese, or pretty much anything that takes five minutes to make at home. The prices are pretty high for what is given and there's nothing aside from a little garnish (fried onions?) that makes it any different from what an average person is used to. The cookies and cream milkshake that I ordered was probably the best thing I ordered, but what's really stopping me from going to Jack-In-the-Box and ordering a milkshake there for half the price. And at least if I go to Jack-In-the-Box, I don't have to deal with overblown pricing that forces me to pay premium for a tray of food that looks like it came straight out of a college dorm room. I don't know, maybe I'm being harsh, or maybe the place just sucks that bad... I'll leave that up to you. But if you ask me, don't eat here. It isn't anything special and is definitely not worth the headache. RE (9:52 PM 25/3/19): Regardless if your establishment uses the best ingredients does not change the fact that customers are receiving what is essentially an overpriced Kraft dinner. Look, I really tried to find positives during my visit and even persuaded my party to give your place a try, but the whole experience from the service to the food was not up to par with the business-savvy jargon you tried to rebuttal with. I completely agree that the environment should be taken care of but that idea should also be practiced in the environment of your restaurant as well. There is nothing more appetizing than unhygienic practices being made in the faces of customers ;) ... And while the pricing of your menu was a big turn off, you failed to further elaborate on what separates your service and overall experience from other competing restaurants. In my opinion, your business was not up to par with your peers, and I stand by that. I understand the business side of things - the rent, the labor, the expenses - but it is also up to people like myself to let others know when a place isn't a great as they claim to be - places where the marketing of their product outweighs the actual substance of the meal itself. Until your restaurant realizes and fixes its faults, your business will continue to rely on the income from one-time visitors like myself. I do applaud the use of locally sourced organic food, but do families really believe feeding their children greasy fast food is a good thing just because it is organic? If the goal is to be the healthiest option, why settle for milkshakes, burgers (real or not), grilled cheese, and mac? And the fact that customers have to pay extra because of this is ridiculous. That's like McDonald's putting caviar on a Big Mac or making a non-GMO chicken nugget and advertising it as the next health craze. It just doesn't make sense. But I don't know.. maybe I will give this another try, maybe I won't. (or maybe I just don't care). Anyways, thank you for your time. read more

The garlic bacon mac and cheese is also deliciously creamy, with the crunchy bits of fresh cooked bacon, and a good portion of chicken as well. The double chocolate milkshake is creamy, but the chocolate flavor is not as rich. It tastes good nonetheless! Indoor seating is slightly limited, but there's plenty of outdoor seating. There are also various menu options (such as burgers, melts, and more) but the mac and cheese is always a good go-to in my opinion! read more

The Melt was pretty good for my first try! I've always heard good things. I know it's primarily a grilled cheese joint so I walked in with the intention of getting one but I caved and got a burger. I ordered the Original Cheeseburger because it sounded so damn good. And I wasn't disappointed. Honestly their meat is great quality and their potato buns are so good. Their secret Melt sauce is also a great touch to the burger. Their Naked Fries are basically shoestring fries with some toppings but pretty generic and basic. Not bad though. We also got the Trio Mac n Cheese on the side and it was alright. All of the cheese was concentrated in the middle so that's where the good stuff was. It was a lot of food in total and not as pricey as I'd expect. For all listed above, plus a drink and a double cheeseburger, our total was around $21. Not too shabby for all that food. I visited this place for the first time at the Irvine Spectrum Center. I I never heard of the place, but the menu look appetising and it seems to be pretty packed so thought I would give it a try. After I ordered my food I stopped to look at Yelp reviews and I saw that they weren't very good. After receiving my food I could see what the disappointment was we ordered a melt and a patty melt and they were both barely warm with hard cheese oh, and the fries were fairly cool and under seasoned. Pretty disappointed because the prices were a little higher than they should have paid. I would assume that maybe they had a bad day, but based off of the reviews to seems to be an ongoing issue. Service was fairly quick because they have the option to either order at a register with a attendee or you can order by yourself on the screens in the front. We ordered on the screens and then grab the buzzer, so we wait for maybe about 5 minutes for our food. I would have waited an additional 10 minutes for fresh hot food. I don't think they have any of these franchises in Los Angeles, I'm hardly in that area so I'm not sure if I'll be back. read more

This review is based on one visit. This place is located at the Irvine Spectrum in close proximity to Dave & Busters. I needed to do some shopping so I came early to beat the lunch crowd and popped in. I decided that I would order a build-your-own-burger so I went with a double with cheddar and Swiss Cheeses, avocado, bacon and a fried egg with No Grilled Onions. I also selected the fries with bacon, cheese and cheese sauce. This was an expensive combo and was a setback for fast food. It took about 10 minutes to get my food and guess what? Grilled Onions. I checked my receipt because I know that I told them and it said it 3X. I returned the burger and waited again. I did eat my fries while I was waiting and they were awesome. My burger arrived and was prepared correctly and it looked great and tasted great. This burger was so good, but they usually are when you customize it your way. I suppose that I will try them again at some point but the cost is a deterrent for fast food. Again, my burger was really good. I just hope they can get better with the order accuracy. read more

I was pleasantly greeted by an amazing employee by the name of Santos during my late evening visit on a Friday night. His customer service was very professional, courteous and friendly. I've ordered from this place countless times using delivery over the last few years. Always great tasting food even though it's a bit pricey. The reason for the low rating is the very unfriendly customer service I received this afternoon from a young short female employee manning the counter. I ordered ahead of time and approached her at pick-up time. While she was standing there literally doing nothing, I politely just said "Hi, I'm picking up for Danny." She turned her head away from me and pushed a brown bag towards me without a word like I was a repulsive monster bothering her. Honestly can't remember the last time I was treated like this since I always make sure I'm super polite to employees having worked customer service myself. Based on recent reviews, this isn't an isolated incident. Don't think I will be eating here again - even through delivery. You can place your order at the self check out counter or you can walk up to the register. The menu is very straightforward - grill cheese, chicken sandwiches, mac & cheese, and soups. My boyfriend ordered the Queso De Mayo and I ordered the Egg In A Hole. The food is ok - not a lot of flavor. Mine was just cheese and bread; not memorable enough for me to come back. I was expecting an actual egg in my grilled cheese, but it was mixed in and cooked inside the bread. Bland, no flavor :\ Fries were average, but at least they had a nice crunch. I love a good Patty melt but this one unfortunately missed the mark. I felt it was overly greasy and contained way too much cheese. The meat itself was tender and delicious but combination of the butter on the grilled bread, tons of melted cheese, and meat combination that felt excessive. I could barely eat 1/2 of the sandwich. The midness begins when you walk in. It looks like bland modern restaurants, not trying to look unique, just blend in. No one to greet you when you walk in. Instead you get a confusing computer to work, that doesn't take cash. Not only that but you don't get told when your food will be ready, rather they ask for your phone number. Whats wrong with your name? Not only that but the employees were goofing off, in front of me. I understand boring minimum wage jobs, but like don't goof off in front of us. If all of this wasn't enough, the food wasn't good. The burger was bland and likely wants to rely on the cheese that just fell out of the burger. It came with a drink (iced tea, cane cola, root beer, black cherry, or lemon lime). Their soft drinks are made with pure cane sugar. The 1/4 lb. burger, fries, and a drink set me back $11.50. They use quality ingredients here and are a step up from the fast food places. The burger is a 1/4 lb. 100% angus and wagyu beef patty. It's cooked medium and tastes juicy, but it has no flavor. It comes on a potato bun that tastes good. The sweet potato fries, topped with some Parmesan cheese tasted good as well ($3). Overall the pricing is a little on the high side for a 1/4 lb. meal. This should be more like $8. Taste wise everything was just so plain. With so many other burger options out there, I think I will just pass the Melt. read more
